Deep within the bowels of CNN, far underground, down rough concrete hallways beneath humming fluorescent lights a group struggles, dragging a howling spitting Ewok along.

With that the Ewok is shoved into a room and the door is bolted. The group retraces their steps, the Ewoks howls blending in with the cries of the Mad Wolf Blitzer and of the damned.
Speaking of the damned - in a cell next to the Ewok Brad continues to recite in a monotonal voice "I am a man and I am unworthy of existing in a world of delicate fragility inhabited by beings of wondrous delight such as you."
"AGAIN!" shrieks a fat woman, her jowls wobbling in seismic tremors of rage her purple and green hair half covering her eyes as the pointless tattoos cover her blubberous flesh. "AGAIN you masculine beast! You must get the grovel into your voice! I, Leather Pithairia, Supreme Ministerix of HR Command!"
Meanwhile, far away, in a sun filled city of alabaster buildings two men emerge from a bush.
"There, Francois, you see how I get close to the target without him knowing I am around. These techniques of surveillance are crucial when you become a special investigator like moi."
"But Chief Inspector Mueller, was it necessary to crawl the entire length of the Mall?"
"Certainly, you fool. How else would I be able to properly use my magnifying glass if I am not close to the ground?"

"Quiet! The target approaches."
Francois mutters to himself "I saw that a mile off."
The pair duck down as an elephant walks down the mall. From the howdah on its back Trump gestures, making conflicting statements on various subjects as a crowd of legislators, Democrat and Republican writhe, clutching their heads in agony.
"AHHHH! The conflicts!" one wails.
"It is too much!" another whines.
"Will he ever just say one thing and stick with it," whimpers a third.
"I thought I could weasel-word, but with the Golden Scalp Weasel he can say all things to all people and have them angry and happy at once!"

The elephant walks on as the legislators fall.
"That should take care of them until happy hour," Trump states, ceasing his flow of blather. I mean, the elephant is a nice touch, but it is slower than the limo."

Definitely a matter of personal taste. You see wonder. I see a well-executed book cover illustration--not that the two are mutually exclusive. It's just that fine art and commercial art have different aims. This looks like commercial art to me.

I love fantasy stuff as much as the next guy, but for some reason I have always avoided Robin Hood stuff and King Arthur stuff.Watched half of the Costner Robin Hood movie and it was dreadful because 1. Robin Hood and 2. COSTNER!
In the case of Arthur, it all seems part and parcel of the whole "Some people are born kings an everyone else was born to kiss the kings.....ring", mentality. Some Kings are just more benevolent than others.

I've argued for a while we need to stop writing exceptions into gun laws for LEOs, retired LEOs, and LEO agencies.

One of the semi-recent Robin Hood movies (I think the Russell Crowe one) apparently started out as a film about the Sherriff of Nottingham, casting him in a much more sympathetic (and interesting) light.
But then, no, Holywood decided you can't have innovation or anything clever, and made it a bog-standard Robin Hood film.
Robin Hood and the King Arthur legends are great because there's so many different versions and variations. Sometimes a new element sticks, and shows up in later versions, sometimes an old or forgotten aspect reappears.
(Also why I like reading about urban legends and how they shift.)

LOVE this painting and anything by Wyeth. The depth of color in the sky and Arthur's red clothing, the sheen and shadow on the armor, the positions and stance of the men, it is so evocative of their mood and the story. Wyeth has the ability to show fierce expressions on his characters that is wonderful. Think of the pirates in his Treasure Island illustrations. The only one I have seen match that is Fratzetta. I wonder if he was inspired by the Wyeth figures.

See, this is the issue: Tariffs protect specific industries, including shareholders and banks on Wall Street, at the expense of jobs and the general wealth of middle America. Economists of every political strip would probably agree on that statement. Free trade brings jobs to Americans in greater numbers than tariff protection.
But I get that Trump has a political commitment to enact tariff protections. It's a stupid move, economically, and it endangers the economy as a whole, but hopefully our trading partners get that retribution against us would hurt them too. The argument "they do it and worse" might have some force too.

Part of the problem is that most of the surviving suits were not combat armor, but display or ceremonial, or for jousting, which were significantly heavier and less mobile. For show rather than go.
So in the past, people came to understand that armor was all like that, and miserable to move around in.
There's a scene in Excalibur where two knights are fighting and eventually both become so tired they can barely lift their arms: that's what swinging a 5-10 pound sword in 50 pounds of armor will do to you after a while. But you can get on a horse without a crane and get back up off the ground without any problem.

It's a stupid move, economically, and it endangers the economy as a whole, but hopefully our trading partners get that retribution against us would hurt them too. Tariffs are good to protect industries that are of national importance for defense and self reliance. It is one thing to get cheap textiles or plastic crap from another country, it is another to devastate critical industries that will be needed in war and economic freedom.
Second Tariffs are good as a way to teach other countries to play fair with our goods. You do not get respect if you don't play hardball.
Pure free traders thought for example it would make China more democratic and friendly. How has that worked out? Pure free traders also thought the same thing with Nazi Germany. How did that work out?
You can make an argument that globalization and economic competition was one of the reasons WWI happened.

They have always promoted a healthy lifestyle. But weight loss is still their main goal and I don't think that will change.
I've used the program and am currently on it. Lost 46 pounds 30 years ago. I'm currently trying to lose 25.
Weight Watchers wasn't at fault for my weight gain. They taught me what I needed to do. I didn't stick with the lessons they taught me.
And yes, smaller portion, less fat and sugar plus exercise is the answer.

The story with statuary is similar-- a lot of ancient Greek statues (and others) were gaudily painted. Eventually, the paint wore off, sunlight and the elements did their thing, and before you know it people are duplicating the faded things and not what they looked like in their glory days.

I'm a lifetime WW , having reached goal weight about 25 years ago. I still have all the old books and points calculators and Mr. Jen and I use that as our weight loss method when we fall off the wagon and start packing on pounds.
The early programs were great, they actually worked and were simple to follow. Proteins, low carb, limited fat, very limited alcohol, 8 glasses of water a day. Don't eat out much, if you do, ask for a take out box when you order and put half your dinner in it when it arrives to take home. Weigh and portion your food.
It takes discipline, but if I can do it, when I love everything with flour in it, anyone can do it.
Then, the marketers got a hold of WW and every year it is a different "program" with different gimmicks and frozen foods, and "free points", BS. They have destroyed the program, IMO. It has so much freedom in it that it no longer works because everyone cheats because they are encouraged to do so.

Anyway. WW changes their system every few years-- partly to keep up with the science, partly to fix loopholes people (being people) found, but also because they're a business.
I was on PointsPlus ~5 years ago, and it worked for me. The meetings didn't help much, just the rules and self-discipline. Other people (not to generalize, but women more than men) are more affected by social pressure, and so the meetings help them stay on track.
After the first few weeks or so-- once you have the tools and the theory and whatnot-- you can do it yourself. You're paying for the support after that, really.

It has nothing to do with defending Sessions. It has to do with looking at the bigger picture.
When Trump goes in to negotiate about guns and starts talking about things like taking guns without due process I hear an awful lot of people explaining that it is really 11th dimensional chess and you need to watch what Trump does not what he says.
But he fires off a tweet about Sessions and of course it is meant to be taken literal and nobody should wonder why he hasn't either ordered Sessions to do something or fired him, both of which are available options and Trump sure as hell isn't shy about firing people.
Read his tweet more carefully. He now has the media talking about FISA abuse and waiting on the IG report and if he hasn't been told that the IG has been investigating this for months already he's probably astute enough to figure it out.
Sessions works for Trump. He was the first prominent figure to back Trump and Trump ran on and is implementing his immigration plan via Stephen Miller. If he wanted Sessions gone he would be unless you think this is one area Trump is totally being played.

Last year the EU put big tariffs on imported steel, like 30% big. I don't seem to recall a lot of hair on fire over that.

The idea is to help protect and improve the 9 integrated mills that are existing here in the USA and the 102 mini mills scattered across the country.
Mr. Jen works in a support industry to steel which is why I am very familiar with these numbers and facts.

I didn't speak artspeak jibber-jabber. I made it as succinct as I could. The idea I was sharing came from my mentor, Ellie Siskind, a cranky little old Jewish lady who is a prominent, nationally recognized painter whose works hang in galleries. I suppose someone shared the idea with her. Ellie is something of a big deal.
The term 'elevation' in the context of art is commonly known and used. No jibber-jabber there, either. It's true you might experience elevation while on a nature walk but we weren't talking about nature walks. We were talking about art, man-made objects.
