It is a very compact and effective carbine. Pretty happy with it for what it is.

J G sales online had some last week, if you have an FFL near you to do the transfer.
It is a very compact and effective carbine. Pretty happy with it for what it is.

They are a bit heavy. But that's okay. Get the .40 or .45 model and that will help with recoil.

Yep. Seem to recall that that was such a poor choice (people bled out because the police waited so long before entering) that it caused LEOs to reassess their whole strategy for dealing with active shooters. I would be really surprised if it was the Broward County Sherriff's dept. to sit on their butts outside waiting for the shooting to stop.

With direction from the Broward deputies who were outside, Coral Springs police soon entered the building where the shooter was. New Broward County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, and two of those deputies and an officer from Sunrise, Florida, joined the Coral Springs police as they went into the building.
Some Coral Springs police were stunned and upset that the four original Broward County Sheriff's deputies who were first on the scene did not appear to join them as they entered the school, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. It's unclear whether the shooter was still in the building when they arrived.
What these Coral Springs officers observed -- though not their feelings about it -- will be released in a report, likely next week. Sources cautioned that tapes are currently being reviewed and official accounts could ultimately differ from recollections of officers on the scene.
The resentment among Coral Springs officials toward Broward County officials about what they perceived to be a dereliction of duty may have reached a boiling point at a vigil the night of February 15, where, in front of dozens of others, Coral Springs City Manager Mike Goodrum confronted Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel. A source familiar with the conversation tells CNN that Goodrum was upset that the Broward deputies had remained outside the school while kids inside could have been bleeding out, among other reasons."

The paper called Broward twice for comment and got no response.
The Chief sounds like scum. I guess he thought Coral Springs was gonna lay down like a doormat and say nothing, and let Boward pretend his dept. did the work. They didn't. From cops to first responders, it was all Coral Springs.

even having stayed in the school and moving to where the shooting was coming from would have been valuable since it would have given other officers specific information on the location of the shooter when they arrived.
lots of room for honorable behavior between rushing in rambo style to take the guy out and running off to the parking lot to hide. besides if sop is to go to the shooting then what he did is an offense worthy of firing.

These have cleaned up so nice. I was finally able to see the tiny torches on the Yugo crest and there are only 5 of them, which means these are pre-1962 and therefore C&R, though I had to get them through an FFL because Classic is getting a mixed bag of years and they aren't interested in sorting out the 50 year old ones from the newer.
But both of mine are pre-62 so I'm stoked. I wasn't going to go to the range until next Saturday, but I may need to make a quick run tomorrow or die of anticipation.

The reason to train for active shooter situations would be to prevent the paralysis that they had. I hope victim families end up with the deputies and this sheriffs houses and life savings. That is not my default thinking, but this department seems to have been taking funds and talking tough but all but helped sick Nick kill those kids. Perhaps the deputy dick/peter was teased by some snooty rich kids and wanted revenge as well as wilting at the sounds of real gunfire.

They'll do it if you ask nicely, if there is no alternative.
Mostly Marines would flank the sonofabitch, draw him off, harass and snipe as the opportunity presented itself, keep his head down, and generally give him something to think about. So he'd stop shooting people.
You can do that without flinging yourself onto the altar of self-sacrifice.
Hell if you're careful you have an excellent chance of surviving.
In a pinch you can do most of it without having a gun.
Not that a Marine in the mix wouldn't have been about the best thing ever.
