19 Tea Anyone.
An Arizona woman who has woken up with different accents three times in the past seven years said doctors traced the unusual condition to a rare disease.

Michelle Myers, a former beauty queen and mother of seven from Buckeye, said she has never even left the United States, but she woke from a headache-induced nap about seven years ago to find she was speaking with an Irish accent.

Myers said the accent lasted about a week, but about three years later the same thing happened again and she woke with an Australian accent, which also lasted about a week.

The rare disease could be Hillaryitis. Women should be mounting a presidential run.

64 9...teej, I got the True North CD and have been listening several times. Damn nice! I don't listen to much new original music these days. Mostly Baroque and earlier and jazz\great American Songbook stuff. If country and western still sounded like this I would be listening.

The mandolin and fiddle give the songs a great added element. I could hear the lyrics, which matters. And I realized that people can dance to these songs, which makes them more appealing.

Thanks for recommending them.

I used to play full court pu games at the Dallas downtown Y. A good game. At the beginning of a new game, I looked up and a girl was getting ready to match up with me. I looked at my friends and they told me that she was Nancy Leiberman. She was short, slow and couldn't jump. Other than that she was OK except she was an asshole. SAD
Posted by: Mr. Spackler at February 17, 2018 08:25 AM (VWsDy)

Back before the playgrounds became exclusive dens of brainless thugs and fuckheads, I used to play at the local park. I was in a game with my buddy Darryl when a couple tall girls show up saying they wanna run and I'm just rolling my eyes and thinking these mouthy whores are probably terrible. But Darryl wants me to play with him and them against four medium talent guys and I told him No; but he stays on me because he knows I'm not gassed and still have another game in me so I eventually cave. We kicked the guys' asses. The girls were constantly moving and fundamentally perfect in terms of knowing where to cut so I could throw them blind passes for layups. If they got their shots blocked they stayed with it and usually put it back in.

Talking to them afterwards I found out they were both Big Ten players (Ohio State and Wisconsin iirc) home for the summer and had finished runner up in the Hoop It Up tourney open category. So they're like in the top one percent of women players and I'm somewhere in the fat part of the bell curve, maybe to the left of the median, of all male players. But they weren't assholes at all.

It's true! It's true! The crown has made it clear.
The climate must be perfect all the year.
A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there's a legal limit to the snow here
In Camelot.

The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
In Camelot.

Your comment made me think of the time I questioned a local City Commissioner candidate if he was a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

He was a straight-arrow conservative with a superb background in leadership and town management. The local TEA party had a "rough up the candidate" event to prepare him for the hostile local press.

He lost to a highly touted (by our leftist local paper) nonentity. Taxes were raised in the city every year for 4 yours. And now there are consultants asking why enrollment is down at the local land-grant university. Unreal.

Do you really think Progressives are going to let firearm support continue to grow without pushing back. What we are witnessing is the domestic version of Fast And Furious playing out on cable news.

When Scalia wrote in Heller that the 2nd Amendment was an individual right - it started a ticking time bomb against all gun control laws: 8 U.S. Code 242.

8 U.S. Code 242 is the Federal law written in 1948 that made all the Jim Crow laws in the south dead letter unenforceable - since it included up to a death penalty ( under certain circumstances ) for any law enforcement persons ( including judges and prosecutors ) who deny anyone their Constitutional rights "under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation,
or custom".

Scalia knew about 8 USC 242 - which is why he was so careful in his analysis about the 2nd amendment being an individual right.

I mentioned the concept of 'degree days' a couple weeks back and predicted an early spring because how little variation there is from winter to winter. Extreme cold like we had for a couple of weeks? Nature has a way of leveling that out.

Yeah, perfect would be 12 weeks of sunny 65 degree days and 50 degree nights. Instead we'll get a roller coaster ride of extremes, slightly higher on the high side.

183 I don't know what happens with some commenters. Chemjeff was a moron in good standing for years, but then went all Rain Man on the topic of immigration.

BSG was goofy and funny at first with his Winona schtick, but took on an increasingly mocking and dismissive tone towards the other commenters.

Chemjeff at least offered arguments to back up his points, while BSG would just say "go read X". That was the most annoying thing about him. He rarely offered any links or quotes. We were just supposed to figure it out on our own.

up ruling Brazil some day.

There's no way he gets caught by the police now, he's got 10,000

Posted by: TheQuietMan at February 17, 2018 08:58 AM (SiINZ)

When someone's banned, all their posts disappear, I think. But he said that anyone who says cuck (like ace did in the beginning of the thread) is a cuck themselves, and that was all she wrote.

Posted by: josephistan at February 17, 2018 09:41 AM (ANIFC)

216 I never saw what others did in BSG. He'd either repeat certain words over and over again, like "Winona" or Smoothies, giggling to himself as if it were the funniest thing in the world. He sounded like a retarded child with Tourette's.

Or, when he argued, it was always based on an intentionally vague, obtuse misreading of the opposing position.

Example, when the Pope announced he wanted to change the wording of the Lord's Prayer and some folks were unhappy with that, his response was "The Bible wasn't written in English", as if THAT were the argument as to why it shouldn't be done. He was always careful never to lay out his position, lest he be forced to enter into an honest discussion.

The main reason he commented was that he enjoyed being a nuisance, so naturally to maximize that he'd continue relapsing into that behavior as long as it was tolerated. You could see the timeouts weren't going to do anything.

But finally, it's come. We are BSG free. At last.

As well they should. Someone earlier mentioned operation Fast and Furious. That put into words the vague feeling I've had that either federal law enforcement is too incompetent to be allowed to continue, or else they are okay with the body count if it leads to disarming the citizens. Given the progressives at the top of O's administration, I can no longer automatically attribute to stupidity that which may be caused by malice. The last administration's willingness to plead stupidity or incompetence when the question arose always made me wonder what they were really up to.

Ditto.

The field of athletes are there every time, having become professional amateurs. The events themselves are less than compelling. The coverage is atrocious.

That leaves the prospect of seeing someone taking a knee on the medal stand as my only reason to watch, but considering it's the Winter games, this bit of drama seems unlikely.

Well the good news is I don't think you can mess up too badly. You said you mostly want to check mail/web and play solitaire, yeah? Well the Kindle Fire line Polliwog recommended will do that just fine. There are reasons to avoid the Kindles (being locked into the Kindle app store mostly) but they don't apply to you and could be a benefit (less chance of crapware). Apple stuff tends to be supported forever and doesn't go obsolete very fast, so a refurb iPad from 2014 or whatever should still work fine for at least 5 years. And then there's whatever Android stuff happens to be on sale at Staples or Meijer or whatever, which will probably do whatever you need it to.

448 I exercize for work, or for health.

Usually I'd make the spelling joke here, but I'm going to skip it this once out of respect for the revered Naval practitioner, Dr. Kegel.

Except for a few displays of "floor exercises," there's no exercise in the Olympics. We go over this every time, but -- the tradition always has been, to meet the Olympic definition of "Sport," an activity must derive from war.

So swimming and running get in the gate by way of Modern Pentathlon, in fact the set was fantasized by Baron de Coubertin for just that reason. They had gold medals in liberal arts for the first few, just out of Greekiness. First double gold was in IIRC, rifle and sculpture. To an American, heh.

We got our first credit card at Klines Dept store to establish a credit history. IIRC you didn't have to show the card, just give them the number, which was maybe 5 digits.

454 I haven't had TV for several years, but the last few times I watched the Olympics I thought the coverage was awful. There would be all those "human interest" stories about the American athletes, while they would totally ignore events that didn't feature American athletes.

I tuned in for the sporting events, not to learn about some skater's Downs Syndrome brother. Sorry if that sounds harsh.

But it's kind of bizarre when I, an American nationalist, am more interested in watching actual competitions featuring foreigners than watching a story about an American weightlifter's charity work.

And since we're all grown-ups here, let's just come right to the only relevant point - will it be handy to use on the shitter?

Too bad. I had a Nonce, when they first came out. Luurved it.

For those watching at home, The Saint, in the books, had a Hirondel.
It's a sea-bird, but the name has elements of Hispano-Suiza and some other car makes of the brass era. I've always found that a lovely fiction.

I guess I was 10 when Dad came home from work one morning and told me he was going to get a Urine 8. "Just somethin' to piss around with."
It was the dirtiest joke Dad had ever told me, up to then. I really enjoyed it.
