A journalist announced last week that he will publish a photograph of then-Illinois Sen. Barack Obama (D) and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan that he took in 2005 at a Congressional Black Caucus meeting, but did not make public because he believed it would have "made a difference" to Obama's political future. The photographer, Askia Muhammad, told the Trice Edney News Wire that he "gave the picture up at the time and basically swore secrecy." "But after the nomination was secured and all the way up until the inauguration; then for eight years after he was President, it was kept under cover," Muhammad said. Asked whether he thought the photo's release would have affected Obama's presidential campaign, Muhammad said, "I insist. It absolutely would have made a difference." Reached by TPM on Thursday, Muhammad said a "staff member" for the CBC contacted him "sort of in a panic" after he took the photo at a caucus meeting in 2005. TPM has published the photo above with Muhammad’s permission.

My only point is to point out when an offshoot or independent cult/religion uses the name of another major religion, but is so doctrinally different from that "parent" religion (can't think of a less pejorative wording) that it really can't be considered related at all except superficially.
I could be wrong, but C-S pretty much explicitly denies the divinity of Christ, right? Making them, for all intents and purposes, not Christian at all.
NOI, while more or less acknowledging or at least nodding to the pillars of Islam, has so much other stuff tacked on to it that a Sunni, Shia, Sufi etc. Muslim would think, "This isn't Islam. What are these people talking about?"

Maybe partially true but I think you're overthinking it. By segregating blacks at the Congressional level Dems would automatically get 13% of Congress year in and year out without even trying.

In general it seems the consensus that those people are not really treatable. Academics shy away from the value judgment evil, but when you read the literature and talk to practicing clinicians that's what they are saying.

Eh, I think a lot of it had to do with him spending his formative childhood years in Indonesia at a madrassa, IIRC. That's why he was so foreign, regardless of his actual birthplace. When we were all in elementary school we were doing things like learning the state capitols, the 3 branches of government, playing little league and celebrating Thanksgiving, July 4th. Obama missed all that stuff - was he learning the koran, hearing the daily calls to prayer?
At this point I don;t the he practices any religion, he is his own god. However, his default religion, the one he's most familiar with is Islam, not Christianity.

This is actually complicated. If a Jew converts to Christianity, from a Jewish POV, RELIGIOUSLY they are Christian. Calling someone a 'Messianic Jew" in that sense is like calling them a jackalope. It's an oxymoron. They are practicing as a Christian, and their personal RELIGIOUS identity as a Jew is no longer valid. So they give up one important dimension, as it were, of their Jewish-ness.
On the other hand, Jews are still obliged to treat the convert to Christianity as though they are a Jew in several aspects. So if they die, they can still be buried in a Jewish cemetery, for instance. This is because one never knows: they might have repented at the last minute or even second of life, and repentance is the key thing.
So, EVEN converting to Christianity doesn't make you not Jewish. It makes you an apostate. It means your worship is not acceptable in the community. It means that your marriage is not valid. And so forth.
It's just complicated.

And Trump gets all the credit for publicly trying to honestly negotiate in good faith, and he won't ever have to live with the consequences of it actually becoming law because Schumer won't let it pass.

So their instincts got sloppy. Rather than devote their efforts to beating their opposition in a parliamentary manner, or by convincing the populace by argument, they took the easier path (which was handed to them on a golden platter) of doing whatever they wanted and making some half-assed attempts at covering it up, coupled with the most childish demagoguery. A whole generation of Democrat/Progressive politicians learned how to do politics in a weak, sloppy manner.
Now that the GOP of old is no longer running the show, those tried and true tactics are no longer holding up (cf. Schumer et al.) They will need to go back to the drawing board, but their cutthroat bullying tactics have left no new shoots and buds to cultivate, just the same old bitter, gnarled branches using the same old tired, weak political playbook.
Good luck, jackasses. You're entering a long period of politcal irrelevance. You'll still win seats, but they'll do you no good.
