In All Of The Excitement I Forgot..........

Remember, it was you and I creating the "vast right conspiracy" that caused this man and this woman so much pain and heartache.

I had always known the Democratic Party to be an immoral apparatchik. The failure of one cabinet member to resign because of his pig like behavior adultery was proof positive they cared nothing for the country or their respect for the office of the presidency.

Come on here, dear boy, have a cigar
You're gonna go far, fly high
You're never gonna die, you're gonna make it if you try;
They're gonna love you

Well I've always had a deep respect
And I mean that most sincerely
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?

I was listening to a lecture by a couple of Venezuelan economists who were talking about the history of Venezuela. For the 50 years prior to Chavez, the control of the government was ping-ponged between the Christian-Democrat and the Social-Democrat parties with nothing to show of it other than loss of freedom, economic failures, inflation and corruption.
Chavez was an outsider who was perceived as a new breath who would break the cycle of stupid and corruption, and bring a new era to Venezuela.

Of course, once Chavez was in power new breath he brought was to go full socialist in partnership with Cuba.

WE ARE SO FREAKING LUCKY THIS TIME!

91 The Democrat Party operates on its own sense of moral courage and decency.

It is, of course, a sham, a veneer over the top of the depraved soul that runs it, the greed, depravity, and hate.

But many people see (or only allow themselves to see) the veneer, and even block their nostrils to the stench.

If they *really* cared about minorities, wouldn't they take a critical look at their policies and the harm they might be causing? But, no, introspection is strictly forbidden, therefore they do *not* care about minorities or the poor or the downtrodden or anyone else.

Dr. Hanson writes a very good description of what is. I want Nostradamus to tell me what the future will be. I want solutions to the obvious problems.

Since no one can agree on what we need to do to get from where we are to where we want to be, that is going to be a problem. Since no one can agree on where we want to be, that too, is going to be a problem, and since no one can agree on who will lead us to the promise land, I don't see any solutions.

Perot was the opening round in the nationalist/internationalist battle front. People, gainfully employed -- predominately in manufacturing, knew that either Bush or Clinton would sell their jobs down the river to any nation. For internationalist principlezzz. Or something. Intelligent people, gainfully employed (at that time about 1/3rd of the economy) who knew just what exactly the writing on the wall meant to them ignored party lines.

Advantage: Clinton and the Democrats.

This Is How You Get Trump Factor: Eventually, yes. Took almost twenty years.

Yep. At one time when I was working locally, there was almost no job I couldn't do because I had the tools in my truck.

I actually built two built in computer desks with drawers, ect., that covered two walls of the office space using only my circular saw, router and miter saw. I built sleds for my saw and router so that I could get factory cuts on my panels and the rabets and dadoes for shelves and drawers. I was pretty proud of myself because we had contracted one to a shop with all the "right" tools and I beat them by two weeks and about a third of the cost.

Garden Center. Observed for 20 minutes while drinking a Voodoo Ranger IPA (may be last in my lifetime). Traffic quieted and I approached lawn and garden area watching for snipers or just crazed looters in the ferns. Found last years outdoors chair and table set, no price. Negotiated it down to $55 in US American greenbacks rarely seen in this part of US. Got out of store and back to house via back roads, seeing nary a cop or trooper. If I were a young man ...

I would like to see a return to the days of apprenticeships (having read something on the 'net about 10,000 hours being required to achieve mastery of a skill) and end public, government run schools. 'Higher Education' beyond reading and arithmetic should be done by private, for profit, schools.

Public, government schools, are now showing the bad side of government education. They aren't schools as much as day care centers for parents that have to work two jobs to maintain a desired standard of living.

Think, for a moment about Rock Musicians, and how much practice was required to master their abilities. I see on youtube, videos of 5-6 year old drummers, and young teen girls drumming. Parents have to feed and reward that desire.

Modern athletics is another example where the special 1% practice, practice, practice and achieve celebrity fame and fortune.

The rest of us become corporate drones, cogs in a wheel, interchangeable parts putting in our time until retirement.

And it was because we were fucking idiots - we forgot, all throughout the mowing season (Mar-Nov) to check the Goddamn oil and on the fucking *last* mow of the year it blew up. $500 down the drain for $10 of 5W-30 oil.

Thomas Paine's biography I think. He ran away from home because he hated being apprenticed to his father in the corset stay craft. Somehow, he landed a job as a Customs Inspector and was accused of corruption and fled to the New World. The rest, as they say, is history.

As far as the first election in '92 he had luck. In the lead up to the primaries the Dem. heavy hitters took a pass because GHW Bush had a huge approval rating coming off the 1st gulf war. That gave an obscure governor from a small state a chance at the ring. Then when Bush stumbled Clinton seized the chance, helped on by the MSM which hadn't been dethroned yet.

That he and his "lovely wife" are sociopathic liars, that Bill is/was so smooth when he lies, and that the little handgrenade with a bad haircut ran, got them barely past the gate and into office.

Germany does those. In fact, they said one of the reasons they needed immigrants was bcz those slots were going unfilled (declining birthrates).

Unfortunately, migrants didn't come to Germany with a strong work ethic...or desire to learn. So those apprenticeships began and ended within weeks.

Not sure it has changed since I last checked. Since Merkel and the govt. have been outed as proven liars by the police and the press, and ate in cahoots with Zuckerpucker, I wouldn't be able to parse the truth anyway.

========

One reason is that their own nations regard them as wretched refuse, filth. They don't want them back. Hence catch-and-release starting to come back as DHS holding cells are over crowding.

Three options for dealing with this. Build bigger prisons or put them in gitmo. Or force them into inhumane crowded situations. Then smuggle them across the Mexican border. They'll think twice about coming back.

Or send the military to airlift them back to their own countries. The justification: when does a country send in its own citizens illegally into your country without the intent to withdraw them if your country objects? When they invade you. I think that justifies a military response.

Oh, bull sh#t! When - and by whom?

We know the Taliban attacked girls going to school, implemented a policy where they couldn't attend.

We know of the case where Saudi religious police blocked schoolgirls from exiting a burning school because their heads were not covered (better to fry then offend).

We know Boko Haram - translated as "Western education is sacrilege and those who learn by it must be killed" - has been systematically torching Christian schools, slaughtering or kidnapping students.

So please, tell me where the US military has burned muslim schools - and tell me your source. I'm betting she learned this at the local mosque.

No Costco in your area? Great hotdogs for less money than it takes to buy and make 'em yourself. ;-)

I especially like their polish kielbasa.

239 Miley, have you tried eharmony? I was a widower
with five kids when I did it. If they could find a match for me, they
could find a match for anyone.

I appreciate the tip, Duke, but I'd rather look for a prospective mate on a political website. Dating sites are a horror.

243 I had always known the Democratic Party to be an immoral apparatchik. The failure of one cabinet member to resign because of his pig like behavior adultery was proof positive they cared nothing for the country or their respect for the office of the presidency.

First, I think apparatchik is singular, a person who works for the apparat, so it can't be the party.

Second, whatever. What does adultery have to do with being the nominal head of state and government? Did you like GATT and NAFTA, did you hate Black Hawk Down?

Good and bad presidents have had infidelities and good and bad presidents have been faithful.

246 Many are having great fun with the idiot Duckworth's stupid ad hominem (Trump got draft deferrments so, somehow, magically, he can't point out that a funding gap may affect military/families). But it's still depressing to see that not a single person, rightly contemptuous of Duckworth's childish, idiotic "point", will even discuss the logical fallacy.

F**k Duckworth's service - it's totally irrelevant. Pretty obvious it's an unserious country, for lots of reasons, but important to note that the utter lack of critical thinking skills is not limited to the racist authoritarians. On the contrary.

Meanwhile, wonder which of the vulnerable Senate Ds will be the first to crack here. Aside from the few who already did, and voted for the CR Friday night.

Dream (hah) scenario: Schumer's dumb gambit collapses in total defeat; WH and the few useful GOP in Congress exploit resulting weakness to go for broke on any DACA deal. Border barrier is critical, but 1/5 of the package that *must* be obtained to neutralize the amnesty.

248 I always thought an immigrants trade was entered into the ships'

carried, etc. My grandmother came separately in steerage and was listed
as servant. They both loved this country and never went back home, even
to visit.
=====

All of any family I know about came through Chicago/Great Lakes so I don't know what the requirements were. I do know that the Scandi side were farmers (hitch the plow up to them; save the horses) but I don't know about the Irish other than they were 'imported' and proud of it.

My great-grandfather went back to Scotland once. He came over as a laborer and a drayman. He went back to visit after he made a million with a new type of coal tar extraction for analine dye manufacture.
America is a wonderful place.

253 Sidebar:

"To coin a word" has never meant "to use a phrase".

Just like "begging the question" has never meant "leaves the question unanswered", or "prompts the question".

If "to coin a phrase" could mean to pass along a phrase as currency (according to market value?)--it's doesn't even make any sense.

It's just people misusing phrases they don't understand and haven't learned. The person who wrote the Bush "coined the word" "WAR", just doesn't know how to use the phrase or even doesn't know how to make a clear point.
