#ReleaseTheMemo: Congressmen, Government Officials Tout Report on FISA Abuse They Say Will Rock Country and Implicate Obama

Sara Carter had this story last night:

A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is "explosive," stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.

...

[A senior] government official said that after reading the document "some of these people should no longer be in the government."

...

But the government official, who viewed the document said "it will be tough for a lot of people to see this and especially the media, which has been attempting to deemphasize the dossier. It's going to punch a hole in their collusion narrative."

Okay, so that's what people who are just hearing about the FISA Abuse report are saying. Here's what two of the Congressmen who actually read it say:

Update: #WokeAF.

69 "46 My only concern is that if the report is as damning as they say - why hasn't it been released yet - properly or leaked?"

Because Louie Gohmert, unlike Schiff, actually does have some personal ethics and tries to honestly follow the law.
There's a process to be followed to get this declassified. It doesn't help the dems to drag this out, time at this point buys them nothing. So, follow the procedures, and repeat to yourself - SOON.

80 my guess is somewhere in the documents that are now "in the wind", there is clear evidence of sedition by our deep state IC, intent to remove Trump by fabricating evidence (known to be fabricated).

My hope is it goes up the ladder to Soros types, who funded propaganda sites, and perhaps funded Google type spying and censorship, WITH INTENT to ... do bad things. But starting with the bad actors we already know would be an awesome start.

103 There are and will be many levels of deflection by Democrats and their media/501c_ allies.

What is needed is sunlight, proven documented truth. They will fight the release of unredacted source documents and release of private testimony tooth and nail.

This is going to go much further than bugging Trump associates. The corruption of the IC goes back further, perhaps much, much further.

Yea. I'm not so sure - I think his instinct was to let bygones be bygones, especially since that's been the norm in American electoral politics for the last 220 years.

BUT the Dems couldn't let it rest, and Trump being the counterpuncher that he is, he HAD to go after them in kind - it's his nature. He was also smart enough to remember how GWB was destroyed by never fighting back against his attackers.

And it will happen.

Trump is not stupid. He knows this idea of corruption by the last administration will be incredibly hard for the left to accept. Plus, the downfall of Hillary to boot. The whole DNC structure will be torn down in this.

I do hope that dirty Rs are also caught up in this just so that it can be absent of 'partisan' excuses that will come from the left. I'm certain there are GOPe people involved, NeverTrumpers...not the least of which looks to be McCain who delivered the crazy dossier to the FBI (and if you believe the reporting as of late, it is looking more like circular dossier that was started in the FBI and handed over to Steele).

Being real brave for publishing the classified papers Daniel Ellsberg stole about the Vietnam war. Then being real brave for pursuing the Watergate story.

I'd like to see Republicans everywhere making demands that the WaPo get on this they way they got on that.

"Where's the front page story?"

Because they covered it ad nauseum then. And so did Time, Newsweek, the TV networks (Cronkite of course), and just about every newspaper everywhere from a town bigger than a crossroads.

If Watergate could bring down Nixon in total disgrace, this ought to put Obama where he belongs, if not in jail, then at least in disgrace as persona non grata everywhere.

But the blacks will never desert him. Just like they did not desert OJ Simpson.

198 Wait, you mean the Republican controlled House can approve the release?

---

Might be a congressional memo; a talking points memo something like an executive summary for those very important executives who don't have time to read the million pages of documentation. That is why you have staff, to wade through the million pages and summarize the important parts. Time is valuable for very important people. Minimum wage interns are cheap labor.

Or it might be a four page summary of the findings by the OIG and the supporting documentation is just for the lawyers.

In either case, not many will read the million pages.

POTUS has the power to declassify any information, the only official who has such sweeping power. That's why it was so idiotic a few months ago when some media progs were claiming that Trump was releasing classified info - by definition, if the POTUS is releasing it, it's not classified anymore.

I'm not completely sure about a memo produced by a House Committee, without the House's approval, because that gets into a Separation of Powers situation, but I know Trump could release the original FISA warrant on his own volition right now, if he wanted to.

I suspect that he has been advised that it's still better to wait on that a bit more.

That's just nuts. Because no matter how commanding a lead your party has in the general House, most committee's are constructed so that the power of the majority party is only slightly greater.

If everybody in the House can now look at this, this should no longer be a decision of the committee. The committee is just an organ of the House.

245 Willowed, from previous thread.

But it fits this one, perfectly. So here y'go:

That picture of ICE forcibly removing Elian Gonzalez from his family, is exactly in keeping with the Fedz treatment of Private Citizens at Ruby Ridge, Waco, the Bundy Family, and many other headline-less cases.

It *IS* how the Clintons and Obama saw the relationship between Government and Citizen Subject.

Time now for that whole discredited criminal enterprise to get a taste of their own.

Let's get that "dossier" testimony out of Congressional hands, and into the hands of Americans from sea to shining sea.

I want it all. Indictments, frog-marches, VERY public trials and throw-away-the-key prisons.

What that cabal has done IS nothing less than outright treason against the Constitution, the American People and the concepts, principles and ideas which fomented the American Revolution and the structure and arrangement of our Constitutional Republic.

Only way we're gonna get that Republic back in it's intended form, is to start with hanging the treasonous traitors and enemies of this Republican (structure, not Party) form of government.

Their conduct was, and is, as much an attack on the United States, as was Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

And yes, they were both un-declared, treacherous, sneak attacks, meant to cripple and defang the awesome strength of this great nation. They sought to score a killer blow in the first round.

Japan learned the error of her ways 'tween 1942 and 1945. Rather conclusively there, with those last two mushroom clouded punctuation marks.

We need to amply and conclusively demonstrate to the Obama/Clinton cabal, that they have failed likewise.

Putting the two headliners away in PMITA prison for the rest of their lives, or alternatively, see 'em swing from the gibbets, would be the nuclear punctuation to the end of an evil, twisted and tyrannical reign.

And how much better for the United States, that we see this done WITHIN our Constitution, Courts and the very system of government that they sought to undermine, and weaponize to their purposes?

Jurisprudence, with TRUE justice at the end.

The world would be in awe. No matter the screaming of the Marxist Left around the globe, you can just filter that out for the noise it is.

The. World. Would. Be. In. Awe.

It would then need to go for a vote at the committee level. There is then a consultation with the Majority/Minority leaders, then it would need to go to the president for signature.

There are numerous obstacles in that process which are out of the Majority's control.

And in time, the history books will record him as a weak, hollow man, the puppet of those around him.

And that will be justice enough, in this world.

The current scandal results in the finding that the Clintons and the Dems have been using the information in the 900 FBI files requisitioned by Craig Livingstone as leverage on Washington in general to get their agenda done AND to leverage further waves of dirt, and that this was just part of their surveillance habit.

systematic domestic spying on political opponents using the powers of

Unless the politicians who benefitted from the effort are among those doing PMITA time, there's not going to be any deterrence effect against the progs, and most of what I hear from folks I talk to (just guys on the street, not in the know) is wetting their pants that if justice is really dispensed it would tear the country apart, because of course everything obama did is within what his voters want done to us.

And then you have The Finders who were spooks caught in Tallahasee with 6 children and the CIA intervened and released the men and took the 6 kids out of foster care and shut down the investigation because of national security. This was the 1980's

Then Boys Town and the Franklin Cover up.

386 bb, what you're probably hearing is, "no one is going to jail".

Actually, it's the opposite, which is what makes it surprising to me. That Rep from down here (whom I've never heard of before yesterday, Maetz or something like that) said that word on the news yesterday.

When some congresscritter from my state that's been under the radar for a while (I don't even know when he got elected) suddenly sticks his head up and says "Hey America, this is pretty bad and I want you to know about it ASAP" that tells me that something serious is happening.

Couple that with the Prog/Ctrl-left Dims in the Senate trying to keep the public's attention focused on this DACA nonsense and I smell something big.

Perhaps we should start digging a little bit: maybe there's a pony in the middle of this Dimocrat pile of road apples.

Also, thanks FS. That prayer gets used a lot lately. Funny thing is, it's starting to be effective, something I didn't think was possible.

And of course there is the "too good to be true wet dream" aspect of all of this. About all we are missing now is evidence that Obama extorted Roberts into ruling for Obamacare.

As far as Trump declassifying anything as mentioned up thread, I think he is shying away from that so that no one starts screaming obstruction of justice. Sure it would be a baseless charge, but why give the media something to distract with when it is all coming out anyway? Let the Congress do the heavy lifting on that so that they have skin in the game and can feel like heroes. You build comradery in battle.

423 hopefully we are not over-hyping this, but it really doesn't vindicate (or condemn) Sessions in any case. Some 450 people worked on this, and Sessions recusing himself from the Trump campaign/Russia part sure didn't help anything.

MAYBE that was all part of the super-sting, to set up Rosenstein and Mueller and let them proceed for a year at trying to take down Trump. But that is just speculation.

Plus the DoJ continued to obstruct FOIA requests from Judicial Watch, seemingly to help Hillary hide the truth. That seems separate from the OIG report, but maybe they are linked and there was a reason for not releasing it, but that also is not clear.

And the work of Sara Carter and outsiders seems to have propelled part of this, though it is hard to say what white hats on the inside were really pushing out the necessary leaks. The guy that was muzzled by Mueller seems to be one of the brave heroes (that Hillary didn't manage to Arkancide).

So would a less conflicted Jay Christian Adams have done a better less sleepy job? idk ... probably.

Hope you are correct, but, per Rep. Gaetz, Sessions told the Judiciary Committee in November his recusal included "anything that involved the 2016 campaign, the candidates, or Russia...." Sessions has opened up U1 (which was a good thing, after originally telling Grassley he would have Rosenstein and McCabe review the issue,) but the current focus of that prosecution does not include HRC, so not sure if he really modified his interpretation of the recusal to cover U1.

You couldn't be more wrong. I guarantee you that the media will try and spin this as a political attack by Trump and the right. It is pretty much the only angle they have.

By recusing himself and letting the professional investigators from the OIG office do the lifting he has kept himself out of the fray and can't be accused of politics. He is more pure than Caesar's wife on this issue.

It is obviously going to be an uphill fight against the media and the left to get the public to understand and appreciate the magnitude of what happened. It has to be seen as totally apolitical.

Well, it is very difficult to speak in the sanctified state.

The male and female sex drives are indeed two different worlds. Dennis Prager I believe it was -- I heard him going on about this. Women will never understand the male sex drive.

A Vulcan Mind Meld might work, although I'm sure most nice ladies would run in horror if they melded with that part of my mind.

There was a story, I think posted here, a good while back. Someone woman was writing about her experience. She was prescribed testosterone for something, but they messed up and gave her the man-sized dose.

They caught it before it did an permanent changes, but she was going on how she couldn't believe how she was thinking about sex all the time. She even wanted to have sex with men she didn't like personally.

SHe couldn't believe it. Also, she was amazed at the anger she experienced.

SHe got a little experience of the brain on testosterone. It's a hell of a drug.

On the Jodi Arias doc a few nights ago the defense put on a former girlfriend of victim Travis Alexander to prove he was a sex fiend animal. They had her read from an email she wrote to him complaining about his inappropriate behavior. Then on cross she revealed that the inappropriate behavior to which she was referring was Mr. Happy stood up while they were kissing. She was a very naive 19 year old Mormon and thought that guys turn Mr. Happy on and off at will.

In any case I agree optics are important, but letting Mueller run so long with zero restraint did political damage at least, and other damage to some that had to fund lawyers during his inquisition.

He is. But that never stopped the left from lying to advance their agenda.

Most people think he recused himself from anything to do with Russia and anything that might come from any investigation into tangentially related issues. He didn't but it's nice to have people think that.

And he can unrecuse himself whenever he wants. If this memo shows widespread abuse in the intel community that led to the fake Russia investigation in the first place, and it does, he can jump back in.

Public perception is going to be key in prosecuting this stuff. Everybody knew Bill Clinton lied under oath but the case wasn't strong enough to overcome the pushback from the media and the left and not only did he survive he became even more popular.

We only get one shot at this and I would prefer they take their time and do it right. If they don't everyone around here who has been screaming for the last year to JUST DO SOMETHING NOW will immediately start screaming that they went to fast and screwed it up.

I do not think too many women can appreciate the intensity of the effect, say Wii Fit Girl, gyrating that little bee-hind around has on us.

You put my little head in one of those MRI things, where they can image brain activity, you would see that stimulus provoking something that would look like a seizure compared to normal activity.

I'm not joking, they've done such imaging. Women show nothing of that intensity.

Well, if you show them a bank statement high enough, it will.... :ducks:

That is what I have been saying also. You have to do these things properly and not run off like a demented Gomer Pyle yelling "Citizen's Arrest!" if you actually want to see people indicted and convicted. exposing the depth and breadth of the corruption in the DOJ, the FBI, and the IC is necessary before you can clean them out and make use of them.

And you get one shot at doing this, so you better be careful.

Anyway ... yeah, your scenario sounds nice, but it could be a year of Queensbury rules while they used brass knuckles and groin kicks for a full year. There is a cost. Will that all be overcome just with "but look, Sessions was recused"?

anyway, doesn't matter now ... except holding their feet to the fire, on immigration and convictions is still helpful. imo

685 The whole image of a benevolent Barack Obama they've disingenuously tried to portray is about to be destroyed.

No one with even half a brain ever bought that bullshit.

Barky has always been working against America, turning the arms of government into weapons against us, and we all have known it since the beginning. There has never been any question about this.

Any resolution that doesn't end up with Barky in an orange jumpsuit is wholly inadequate.

686 Hard to believe that the Party that fixed their own Primary so that her Thighness would win, would also try to fix the national election so that she would win that too.

How long before the rioting begins?

Never because we on the Conservative side of things NEVER get to be angry enough to riot about things.

Nothing will happen to the people who did this and it will be our own "leaders" who will let them off.

What should happen is that these people be treated as the members of a coup and arrested, tried in a military court and when/if found guilty taken out stood up in front of a wall and shot.

How ever as I stated above it will never happen, these guys will most likely not even lose their jobs let alone their pensions and it will be the GOP Establishment that rides to their rescue.

And the establishment will feel free to do so because of the fact that the conservative base will not riot or even really do much of anything other then whine about it. I am sick of it, sick and tired to the point I can hardly work up enough energy to be as truly angry about it as I should be.

691 560 Maybe I'm confused again, but I thought Sessions was only recused from the Mueller part. Is he recused from the whole OIG report as well?

Per Sessions' March 2 recusal statement he removed himself from all "matters" having to do with "Presidential campaigns." Since there are portion of the OIG's focus that are exclusively Presidential campaign matters (like Kadzik's heads up for HRC), don't see how Sessions can review the entire report.

697 Churning conservatives will be ranting about this for months. The brain cement will have been poured into every progressive head, and nothing will happen to nobody. We are just too far behind on every pitch to gain a base, let alone advance a runner. We be owned. I'm liking that third-party spoiler stuff more every day. If nothing we say or think matters, then let's f*ck this shit up before we go.
