The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg
"Did you know that New York City actually has laws that limit the size of the soft drinks you can purchase? So when the progressives are all out there chanting "my body my choice", it only applies to a woman who wants to murder her unborn child, not if she wants to drink a large Pepsi."

The 45th Annual March for Life is scheduled for tomorrow, January 19th. It will be underreported by the MSM.

abortion free and on demand.jpg

I can understand the argument for abortion on demand. I vehemently disagree with it, but at least it makes a certain amount of sense. But lately I've been noticing the argument has the added adjective 'free' tacked on to the front, which drags economics kicking and screaming into the battle. Because now what they're demanding is quite different. In the old days, the feminists just argued that they want to do it unmolested by the state, but now, in addition to that, they want someone else to pay for it. Because that's what 'free' means. Not that it costs nothing, but that the cost is shifted onto others, i.e. taxpayers.

Which sounds like a hard sell to me. "I want to have sex with whoever I want and if something bad happens, I want YOU to pick up the tab for it." No wonder their side is losing. Nobody wants to pay for someone else's choices.

feminist hypocrite.jpg

Another reason I'm pro-life is that our women are better looking. They're free of tats, scratches, bite-marks, and bizarre diseases. And because they haven't spent most of their lives trying to force their thinking into the bizarre and unnatural mold of progressive ideology, they're mentally in much better shape.

Here's the Cranberries' anti-abortion song, The Icicle Melts:

Tragically, the Cranberries' lead vocalist, Dolores O'Riordan, passed away earlier this week at the age of 46. The cause of death has not been made known at the time of this writing.

Quite refreshing.

Doesn't mean sane, rational adults have to go along with it. But our approach seems to have been to try to rationally explain to these perpetual adolescent, everyone-gets-a-trophy kids that's not how the real world works.

Instead I think we ought to take a page out of the Trump/Breitbart playbook and start mocking the fvck out of these kids. Viciously. Until they cry, and then we should mock that they're crying.

Frankly it's that or surrender and as I stand before a barren field in which I grow my fvcks I'm pretty much saying NUTS! to the idea of surrender to these adult babies.

========

Liberals always love to drag in third parties. And employers of illegals, too. The state makes up the difference via entitlements of what the employers avoid paying by hiring illegals.

My favorite joke about dragging in a third party:

A big, burly man visited the pastor's home and asked to see the minister's wife, a woman well known for her charitable impulses.

"Madam," he said in a broken voice, "I wish to draw your attention to the terrible plight of a poor family in this district. The father is dead, the mother is too ill to work, and the nine children are starving. They are about to be turned into the cold, empty streets unless someone pays their rent, which amounts to $400."

"How terrible!" exclaimed the preacher's wife. "May I ask who you are?"

The sympathetic visitor applied his handkerchief to his eyes. "I'm the landlord," he sobbed.

65 I seem to recall that when a public figure changes their mind on something, specifically to a more progressive view, it's called "growing in office."
Let's take back that word and say that Trump has "grown" in his views on abortion.

Posted by: Lizzy at January 18, 2018 11:39 AM (W+vEI)

66 Fun but sad and true: when you're going through infertility treatments, a really really really insultingly common response is "well, you can always adopt." (Favorite response: "I went to Babies'R'Us and they were all out.")

Except, adoptions are incredibly expensive and painful. If you want an infant, the average wait is between 2 and 5 YEARS and costs around $50,000. You may be able to get a little under 2 with a foster adopt, but there are a whole host of other issues (like they could force you to take any older siblings, regardless of their physical or behavioral health or they could require you to adopt subsequent siblings -- and then there's the risk of losing the kid up to 2 years after adoption if any blood relative decides they want them).

Why is it so difficult? Because of abortion and welfare. Most women kill unwanted babies rather than put them up for adoption, and then welfare makes it easier for single moms.

My husband, who was adopted, believes that they've intentionally created another disincentive to carry an unwanted baby to term and then put it up for adoption: state laws moving to make it easier for adoptees to ID their parents/making it impossible for the birth mom to keep the event private.

How could this be any different? A newborn is just as dependent on its mother to live as the unborn is. To kill an newborn baby is seen as murder abortion is not. Why?

As I was typing this it came into my pointy little brain that The difference preborn/newborn is the father. After a baby is born the mother has lost full control and the father has a responsibility. Abortion gives the women power over life and death over everyone. Its all a power struggle.

Same here. It's vile but I cannot get politically riled about it. The GOP preached repeal of Obamacare for 7 years, and welched the moment they had the opportunity to do so. Anyone really believe the GOP would follow through if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Maybe on the state level, in a handful of states. But in general, I don't believe the GOP would follow through. It is happy to feign being pro-life, because there's nothing it can do about it; it can just point and kvetch about "that darned Supreme Court." It's posturing. And I think their would be a pro-choice groundswell if state legislatures suddenly found themselves in the saddle on this issue. Kinda like divorce: conservatives are against it, except the ones who make the laws and the ones who elect them.

Oh, geez!! From the other perspective: imagine you're a teen who's gotten pregnant, you can abort and be done with it, or you can deliver the baby, hand it over to a family who would love to have the child - and for the rest of your life there is the possibility that the child will find you. Ideally, the mom (and dad, if listed) should want that, but realistically that is not always the case. The mom is then wondering if/when the child will appear in their life and potentially reveal what may have been a closely held secret.

In my hubby's case, he discreetly contacted his birth dad and the guy *freaked out* and was immediately concerned hubby was going to blackmail him or ruin his life because he had never told his wife and kids about his college mistake. It was bananas, and hubby simply asked for medical history and was done with it.

Mine is nonexistent, and I would still never consider doing such a thing.

163 all these people that expect government to care for them need to lose the right to vote. if they want a nanny state, and they are the children, the children can't be allowed to vote.

Only responsible adults should vote. (and only Americans of course)

164 He had to write a brief essay on why he wanted to
go. He's been around me enough and knew what he was working on when he
wanted to know how to spell infanticide, nihilism, and existential.

I'm morally pro-life and want to see Roe vs Wade overturned, but I have to admit, I don't get super upset on this issue.

I feel like God will settle things up with these people and I also
don't really believe politically you're ever going to get close to
solving this issue. Abortion is just going to be just another sin in a
long list that people will be committing until the end of time.

I can't be that sanguine about murder... especially murder of the completely innocent.

166 "free abortions"?

didn't someone yesterday say about Google et al that if you're not paying for a service, YOU are the product?

167 I just had a Col. Walter Kurtz moment! Why do they want FREE abortions on demand? Because, out are the days when women have boyfriends they can con into paying for the procedure. I doubt they even know who the boyfriends are. Or even if they do, I doubt the sperm dumper gives two shits about her situation. "huh? whatever...(back to looking at smartphone).
