Diane Feinstein: I'm Sorry I Released Those Transcripts Without Grassley's Permission; I Was Pressured to Do So.
Wait, I Wasn't Pressured; I Had a Headcold.
Oh My God I'm So Old and Infirm, The Pieces of My Mind are Slipping Away From Me

Dianne Feinstein has a spirited argument with the one person she has a chance to beat, herself:

Who pressured her? Could it be that people from Fusion GPS pressured her? Or Christopher Steele?

Or was it Democrat Mega-Donor Tom Steyer?

Oh, nevermind, now she says she wasn't pressured. She's just senile. Or, as senile people say, "experiencing a headcold."

When Sean Davis began badgering Manu Raju -- last seen feeding the American public the #FakeNews about Trump getting a secret heads up from Wikileaks with "decryption keys" before it was publicy available (all a mistake based on an easily-checked date) -- about why he hadn't followed up and asked Feinstein Who pressured her?, exactly, Dianne -- and Manu -- quickly changed their stories:

Remember, Trump's mentally unfit for office and has early onset dementia, but if Dianne Feinstein takes actions without thought due to a "headcold," or claims one minute she was "pressured" then later says there was no pressure at all and that she simply "misspoke," this is all fine and certainly no reason for the media to ask clearly-necessary follow-up questions.

David Harsanyi suspects this isn't about a headcold -- rather, it's about protecting the Fusion Collusion.

Those who bought, compiled and spread the Trump dossier's rumors have been walking back its claims for a while. And that's likely one of the reasons Democrats have been scrambling to retroactively diminish its importance in any investigation.

In fact, Simpson’s description of Steele's reasons for approaching the FBI aren't even true. In the dossier, Steele alleges to be offering extensive evidence of a "conspiracy between Trump’s campaign team and the Kremlin." In his deposition in a libel case late last year, however, the former spy says it was merely "possible" that collusion had taken place and the dossier reflects "limited intelligence."

We see a similar downgrading of the dossier’s significance and veracity in Simpson's own testimony. "The question that is asked generally is whether it's credible," he explained. "You don't really decide who's telling the truth."

Well now that Michael Cohen, Trump's personal attorney, is filing a pair of lawsuits -- one in federal court against Fusion GPS and the other in New York against BuzzFeed-- the truth may take on some renewed importance. Add to that the fact that Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham asked the Department of Justice to open a criminal investigation into Steele's inconsistencies, and surely we can look forward to more clarifications and walkbacks in the future.

This is likely what prompted Feinstein to release the transcripts -- which, incidentally, excluded not only a number of important contextual exhibits from Simpson's testimony but also redacted all sorts of relevant information about the players in the case.

By the way, if Trump's obsessiveness and determination to punch back at enemies is a sign of his "mental unfitness," what does this say about CNN?

sounds illegal, for WH work ... basically enables them to walk out the door with secrets that can't be traced, or to do seditious "insurance" planning.

162 Speaking of crazy people in the San Francisco Bay Area...

There is a user-powered review site called "Yelp" on which customers can rate and review restaurants. Under normal circumstances, no problem, except in the SF Bay Area, where every kind of crazy asshole comes out of the woodwork.

The following is a Yelp review of a bar in Oakland, posted by reviewer who appears to be completely normal and healthy-looking -- in fact, here's her user photo:

https://tinyurl.com/y8hkfj9f

She gave the bar the lowest possible rating. Why? Here is her review:

---

"1 star

Ashley G.

I was really looking forward to trying out this place. I called prior to confirm that they would be playing my game, which were more than accommodating, I specifically asked if the venue was animal friendly. The gentleman on the phone said no except for service animals. I have had my service animal for more than 5 years ADA federally protected/covered as well as a physician and a psychiatrist note from Kaiser. I bring my animal to weekly doctor appointments for my disability. He started the conversation innocently, however he then became more irate when he tried to debate my disability to him. He defined the only disability this enterprise accepts as physical. That is illegal and untrue.

I will define what disability means as well as what the ADA covers. A disability is physical or mental condition that limits a person's movements, senses, or activities. A service animal means any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability.

The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

I am not one of those haters that even has to write this kind of thing on Yelp. This place made me feel uncomfortable and discriminated, despite my question to speak with the boss. Very disappointing."

---

Once, when I was planning to open a business in San Francisco, I was warned about professional "disabled" grievance-mongers, and the warnings apparently were right. There are assholes who feign being disabled and then go around looking to stir up trouble so they can sue you for violating ADA "civil rights" regulations. Unreal. Thank God the financing fell through on that business deal, or I myself would be facing maniacs like this on a daily basis.

209 My wife and I were talking and came around to the thought that the "Collusion" scandal has now got much in common with the late stages of the Dreyfus scandal in France. As in, at some point it became obvious to all the Dreyfus had been framed, but a surprisingly large number of people in the Govm't kept arguing that they couldn't make that public now or else Confidence in the Govm't would suffer, and so they kept pushing the charade even though they knew they were wrong. oh, and of course Dreyfus was an icky Jew, so he deserved it even if he was innocent.

The Collusion issue has blown up, and it is obvious even to the left that they've got nothing - but Trump is icky and admitting what we all know happened is going to hurt them, a lot, so they will fight to the death defending it even though deep down they know they've got nothing to fight for.

Yup!

I heard stories specifically about an overweight woman who, along with a partner, would drive around the city in a van and peer into every business they passed, looking for any doorway, hallway or alleyway that seemed to be narrower than normal. If they spotted one, the driver would double-park the van out front, then woman would get out, walk around to the back of the van, open the back door and remove and extra-large-size wheelchair, unfold it, climb on and then wheel herself into the business and make a beeline for the narrow doorway or alleyway she had spotted. If her chair could fit through the opening, she'd stat wailing, "THIS IS ILLEGAL! You business is not ADA-compliant! My civil rights are being violated! I'm suing!!!"

Then she'd wheel herself back out to the sidewalk, stand up, fold up the chair and put it in the back of the van, and they'd continue or to their next victim.

A few days later, the business owner would get a letter from a sleazy law firm outlining the nature of the lawsuit (which was actually just a boilerplate letter, with the business name and address filled in), along with a cover letter hinting that they'd be willing to settle out of court.

I was advised that if this happened -- and it would -- that it was better to take the "settle out of court" offer, because it was cheaper than going to trial and winning the case.

Reminds me of the first fake hate story I ever saw, in Portland Oregon where a black woman in a wheelchair suffering from cancer found a cross burning in her front yard. She howled racism and the press piled up on the story like a feeding frenzy. All the usual suspects came out. A huge march across one of the Portland bridges came out, praising her and declaring this to be very bad.

Meanwhile the cops filmed her walking out into the yard and planting another cross in her yard, lighting it on fire, and going back in.

Turned out she didn't need the wheelchair at all. And that she didn't have cancer.

257 The juxtaposition of Adm. Rogers' visit to Trump Tower during the transition (w/out notice to the administration) and the sudden move, next day, to the golf course in NJ has been noted here by JackStraw for a long time, and at CT and elsewhere for a long time. It is impossible not to conclude that whatever Rogers told Trump caused the move, and the standard interpretation (Rogers revealed ongoing surveillance) is highly persuasive.

Yeah a couple of groups are doing that.

And for some reason its big national news.

You'd think after their absolutely total lack of action against Hollywood and the other hot spots of molestation and rape like congress and news media, these women would be out yelling and marching. You know, if their concern was the plight of women. As they claim.

But no.

You'd think they would be out on the streets in solidarity and support of the Iranians protesting, particularly that shockingly brave girl who took off her hijab and waved it around, then got arrested by the Iranian police and... has disappeared. I mean, if women's rights was their real concern, as they said it was.

303 The failure of the SSCI or whole Senate to sanction Feinstein in any way nicely sums up the collapse of standards there. Note that in the House, the minority was able to temporarily hobble Nunes without good reason (ethics complaint by the vile dumbs**t Schiff based on Nunes' trip to the WH). In the Senate, the GOP is so useless that it probably doesn't even cross their minds to do anything. Wasn't always like this. And one thing we don't seem to have in store is any serious improvement in the Senate GOP.

I also think that part of the Trump retribution plan lies with Sessions very first moves as Ag which were changes to civil asset forfeiture, done very quietly. The country can tolerate people like Yates and Strozk going to jail but not Clinton or Obama. Maybe the plan is going after their assets and bankrupting them as a tradeoff. He's go the look and feel of a a giant Howard Dean "YEEEEAAARRRRGGGGHHH".

329 Cognitive dissonance:

A. We're marching against the abuse and sexualization of women!!

B. Be sure to wear a knit hat designed to look like your naughty bits!
Whaaaat - it doesn't literally match the color of your twat? We need a big discussion.....

330 >> I have always believe that the inside was pink no matter what the race.

Am I wrong?

I've never seen one that wasn't. Of course, with the modern internet, you can see quite a few of them to make sure.

Now, those Green Orion chicks of Star Trek fame, I don't know. They might be green or something.

But I wouldn't care.

Smart enough, even capable, but missing some key parts of his mind.

I disagree. Look in his eyes... he's a fucking loon, a very dangerous one.

335 IIRC, Steyer spends at least 10x what the Koch brothers spend on politics.
But the Dems have been demonizing the Koch brothers as the biggest, most evil financial influence on politics for years.

(and then there's Soros, who is in his own league...)

336 At 63 (or 64 now), Christie Brinkley is still hotter.

Christie Brinkley isn't human. I think she's half elf or something.

337 .....The country can tolerate people like Yates and Strozk going to jail but not Clinton or Obama. Maybe the plan is going after their assets and bankrupting them as a tradeoff. As long as Brennan is locked up for the rest of his life, I'm good. Eric Schmidt had to quit because of his involvement, not any sex charges
Posted by: flowerbelle1 at January 11, 2018 01:26 PM (AkAvN)

I think so much of what's going on is to prevent just what you say. Unfortunately, Obama and Clinton are just to "big" to face the LEGAL consequences of what they did.
I'd be satisfied if the public got a full accounting of what they did. Let them be "disgraced" like that piker Dick Nixon was for the last 20 years of his life.

339 He pled guilty because he could not longer pay to defend himself...

defend himself? what was he spending money on? There was no actual court shit going on, right?

oh...just spend a million to have your lawyers negotiate with the FBI? that makes no snese at all.

The constitution has provisions for a right to a speedy trial. You know. If they want to charge you for not matching word to word with a transcript on an off the record, unofficial converation, then let them take it to a judge
