4 Good Morning Morons; today is Sunday, January 7, 2018. On this day in 1980 Jimmy Carter signed legislation giving $1.5 billion in loans to bail out the Chrysler Corporation. Ultimately they still went bankrupt and were bought out by Fiat.

5 Residents along the East coast are still struggling with arctic conditions all the way from FL to MN. My yard is still covered with snow and we still have sub freezing temps. The high here yesterday was 32.5, slightly above freezing. The NWS had called for 38F yesterday and they are calling for 35F today so I guess we will not make it above freezing.

Of course Fox calls him 'alt-right' what ever that is. The MFM and liberals (BIRM) still call the Nazis 'right wing' despite the fact that the Nazi Party was a socialist organization.

59 good morning early horde

I'm with her shirt for HRC cellmate ... that would be good.

Trump's last EO gave him some pretty broad powers, sorta RICO Act for international traffickers. It seems so clear HRC and gang are guilty, but her people on the inside are also guilty, yet they are still pulling strings, if not running major parts of the show.

Mueller is still trying to destroy lives with lawfare the way he did Flynn, and is trying on Manafort and others.

Hopefully the Manafort lawsuit against Mueller shuts him down. But only because of the MFM is it politically difficult for Trump to just fire him for the whole unconstitutional witch hunt.

But we are supposed to be patient ... #2weeks

And they just flew to the central Florida area, where he promptly texted to inform me that it was mid 50's, and soon to warm up into the sixties.

100 Bruce, that 'three-envelope' pot roast is a good recipe. Even better in the pressure cooker, though, and much quicker as has been pointed out. That being said, isn't it nice to wake up to temps in the teens? Grilling later in the week is a must-do after two weeks in the deep-freeze.

Or start blocking people. Or freeze the thread and report the death threats to FB or the police. But I don't get the trauma, as with that porn star who committed suicide because of the twitter mob a few weeks ago.

that last EO of Trump, I'd have to guess Sessions was at least in on that. If he was not in on it, what use is he?

The EO basically declared a national emergency -- on global corruption and trafficking. Indeed we are so infested on the inside it seems that may be a necessary tool ... but it does seem like the strong man (on white horse) tactic.

But with HRC's made man Mueller on the inside destroying what he can with his henchmen, protecting what by all accounts looks like treason AND trafficking connected to HRC ... guess we have to hope the right patriots are getting things done.

But Sessions seems way too slow (at best), and he has been in "the system" a long time. Big things need to start happening soon, for the good guys this time, not for Mueller's mob.

The Trump Recession is coming

But a downward turn lies somewhere ahead, be it a recession, slump or, God forbid, crash. A necessary part of the energy of economic cycles comes from the ebbing of each wave.

History suggests that the next recession is not far off. The current expansion, though relatively weak, has been steady since June 2009

Oh now the recovery is a weak one. It reads more like a wish list of the economy crashing so Republicans and Trump get swept out of office

The Trump Recession is coming

I'd say that Trump has changed the field enough that there's a lot of energy discharged into the system. Short of something like a local collapse in California pulling everything else down, any 'cyclical' recessions should be pushed off for a few years, minimum.

One winter we rented a car in southern Italy, and then drove to Garmisch, in Bavaria.

Cheap-ass (Blue dyed tap water) Italian washer fluid was froze solid by the time we hit the Brenner Pass.
Ultimately, we made it to an Aldi's with a heated parking garage. Spent several hours inside the store, bought some of the real Bavarian grade washer fluid, and was able to get everything going again.

I don't know what all the ingredients were, but that stuff smelled like a witches brew of toxic chemicals, and caused your eyes and nose to burn when near it.

So we bought more of it, and when we returned to Italy, I filled our car up with it, so that when the Gypsies and squeegee kids mobbed the car at stop lights, a short blast of that stuff sent them backing away.

If you saw the money fall from someone's pocket than I think you should give it back. I'd want somebody to do that for me, although I never have carried around a hundred dollar bill. However, people have given me back a one dollar bill or a ten that fell out of my purse, and I was grateful. If you were taking a walk and there was a hundred dollar bill and nobody seems to be around then I think it's yours. although you might want to check and make sure it isn't counterfeit before you use it.

Drunk guy reaches in his pocket and accidentally spilled change on the floor. Captain America puts his foot over the loose change so drunk guy can't see it.

Drunk guy looks back at dancers, change picked up by other guy.

As far as I know, the Benjamin was deliberately dropped as a way to transfer money between parties involved in the drug trade. picking it up, even with honorable intentions, could get me shot.

For that matter, the used Kleenex could be a spycraft signal. A used Kleenex next to the third cart corral at Walmart means Operation Byela Medvedev is a no-go. Sure, I could be a Boy Scout and say "Excuse me, ma'am, you dropped this" and inadvertently start World War III.

.The problem with predicting a recession/depression is that they almost always follow a longish period of growth and until last year there was zero growth if you factor out State and Federal Government spending.

Matter of fact I have seen it argued that we have had periods of negative growth if you took out all Government spending.

True enough; engineering disasters have killed mucho people. Not every engineer joins, but there is the "Order of the Steel Ring" in which the new engineer takes an oath a bit like the Hippocratic Oath to be mindful of their responsibilities as engineers to ensure the safety of the public. Read an interesting book years ago. title something like To Engineer is Human about some noteworthy engineering disasters.

Oh, I know that. It's just sometimes some ugly bigotry against police officers pops up here at the HQ. It's certainly a distinct minority of the comments; but, the HQ is a rambunctious place and I've had people try to kill me for real, so some harsh words from people I don't know don't hold much weight for me.

304 The last time I did an excursion to Philly, Mrs. R and I went to my favorite restaurant Maggiano's near the Reading station. We were hassled by aggressive homeless people, one I actually give the "gumba glare" to just to get free of him.

The smell of urine was in the air around the historic Hall. At the parking garage some bum opened the door for us, and sized up my wife. I gave him the "make my day stink eye". And finally while climbing the stairs to the car we were treated to a used, spent tampon on the floor of the urine soaked stairwell. I'll never return.

I liked Wyatt Earp. He always had a valuable perspective on things.

I think people just get frustrated when they see police shootings that would get an ordinary CCP-holding citizen hard prison time. And as Vic always points out, even if the victim's family wins a wrongful death lawsuit, it's the taxpayers who end up paying.

More will...but what you have to wonder is what faux crisis the Dems are going to create to try and disrupt the SOTU. They can't afford to have Trump's first year accomplishments serve as the primary story of the day. The news is too good...too far reaching. Something will happen on that very day. I'm betting on Mueller making a move the day before and filing another indictment. That will give the media the chance to steal the spotlight. Your conspiracy theorists would take it a step further and suggest another of those Las Vegas shooters is in the wings.
