Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Over 100 Companies Giving Out "Trump Bonuses" After Tax Reform PassageThe number of companies offering employee bonuses, pay hikes, and increases in benefits in reaction to President Trump's December tax reform victory is now over 100, with thousands of workers impacted and charities too. Less than a day after Americans for Tax Reform put out an initial list of 40, it jumped to 52 as more company plans poured in. And by the end of today, ATR's John Kartch told Secrets that the list will hit over 100. "Small businesses from across the country are sending me news of their tax-cut bonuses, wage hikes, and charitable donations. Many of these were only announced internally. There is a broad and deep tsunami building," added Kartch, ATR's vice president of communications. The article contains a list of the companies giving out bonuses and pay hikes, usually accompanied with a statement directly linking the extra payments to the tax reform law. Any company with a deferred tax liability accrued at 34% now has to take back into income the difference, 13%, as that liability only needs to be accrued at 21%. Many companies are earmarking that windfall as employee bonuses or outright wage increases. Very smart move showing the rank and file the benefits of voting for lower taxes for those eeeevil corporations.

As we've all seen, the MSM, blue cities, liberal mobs in general like to single out, shame and demonize a person or company that commits a sin, such as supporting Trump.
But what happens when a yuuuge number of companies do something to make You Know Who look good? It becomes impossible to demonize/boycott them all, so you let their heresy go unaddressed. This might be how the tide is turned: if enough companies engage in this "rebellion" they will win. People will realize that he doesn't want to put them in concentration camps, and their perceptions will change. Posted by: Steve and Cold Bear at January 05, 2018 06:46 PM (/qEW2) 83

Another angle on the deferred tax liability decreasing and thus automatically increasing corporate income, by sending it out in wages or bonuses, the employee is now paying tax on what would otherwise have been a windfall. So govt is still gonna get the revenue, just at different marginal rates. Giving it to the lowest on the wage ladder ensures that .gov still gets skitched a bit.

Since corporate taxes are always a a part of the price consumers pay for goods or services, will we cactually see deflation, instead of the inflation that most "experts" forecast
Over the last 10 yrs, as most people know, during a period of "zero inflation" the price of basic living expenses (food, shelter, insurance, etc., ) that these costs have doubled over the last 10 years. Inflation was always there, the govt. wouldn't admit it, but the middle class felt it. Will the new corporate tax cuts lead to deflation in the cost of basic living exlenses, as it logically should? I kind of wish we hadn't distributed bonuses in November like we always do (just before Black Friday), so that we could have made the Trump Bonuses.
As an S corp, though, I still have no fucking idea how much the new tax law will save us. Neither does our accountant, they're still trying to sort it out. It's easier for C corps, they're just at a simple flat 21% tax now. But for pass-throughs, it's a complicated goddamned mess. I'm sure it will save us some money though, we small to medium businesses have been getting royally fucked for many years on marginal rates. Have we ever discussed Vasectomies here yet?
Posted by: Soothsayer -- Fake Commenter at January 05, 2018 06:37 PM (v2bko) ======== What are we talking about here? If we are talking about an alternative to abortion I don't think it would be that effective, since the main driver of abortions is *female pregnancies*. You're not going to convince the men running around making women pregnant to get vasectomies. Most women getting the abortions probably couldn't even locate them at that point. I think the best way to reduce abortions would be to force abortion clinics to give only the following offer: you only get an abortion if you agree to a tubal ligation at the same time. It eliminates the future possibility of the taking of life by abortion for people who are prone to go in for these procedures. Posted by: Steve and Cold Bear at January 05, 2018 07:19 PM (/qEW2) 244

I'm pretty sure it's not. Their thought ultimately goes back to Aristotle (through Aquinas). They think that it is sinful to prevent the natural end of a process and value it for something else. The natural end of intercourse is procreation, so if you interfere with it via birth control or vasectomy, this is a sin.
Posted by: Steve and Cold Bear at January 05, 2018 07:26 PM (/qEW2) The rule is: free, fruitful, and complete. Sex that is not open to the procreation of life is not free, nor fruitful, and certainly not complete. If you say, you may join with me, but I do not offer you my ability to procreate, then I do not truly unite with you. IOW, you are holding back, and therefore your sexual union is not licit. Same thing goes for sex outside of marriage, masturbation, etc. If you actively prevent conception, then you are using the other person for your own ends, and objectifying she or he who should be the subject. Natural end of the process of the death penalty is, well, death. Why do they try to stop it?
Posted by: rickb223 at January 05, 2018 07:31 PM (0R8lo) The Catholic Church has never taught that the death penalty is, by itself, wrong. Rather, the prevention of harm to innocents trumps all other considerations. If the only way to stop a murderous bastard from murdering again is to off him, then that is what is expected to happen. The disagreement comes when you toss in a supermax prison. Given the opportunity to prevent another murder by locking the shithead up forever, that is the preference, because, life. But there is no prescription against a just war, for instance, and the soldiers who kill during a just war (to protect innocent life) are not murderers. Metaphor. I'm pretty sure Jesus knew what a metaphor was. Posted by: Insomniac - Meet the New Year, same as the old year at January 05, 2018 07:44 PM (NWiLs) Maybe, except that when he used metaphors, he said so. Posted by: tcn in AK at January 05, 2018 07:47 PM (7UW64) 377

Other thing: Vasectomies. Easy as pie. You strap him belly up on the table, tie each foot off on the corner. Swab the area, make a small incision, pop out the testicles, slice, and throw them in the trash can. Sew up incision. Untie the dog.

Pastafarian, I believe Rebecca Creek is called 'the fine Texas Spirit Whiskey', made in San Antonio in the Texas Hill Country. 40 percent alcohol blah blah blah. Heap good medicine.

My aunt sent us out to find where one of them had a calf. My little cousin got the shit stomped out of her by the mother for trying to bring the calf back. Uncle ended up having to tie the mother to the tractor and dragged it back, charging the tractor like a rhino. Traumatized me, lol. Posted by: dartist at January 05, 2018 07:55 PM (nisXv) 387

342 As a Reformational Protestant, I agree that the origins of their logic are extrabiblical and seek Biblical support only as an excuse or afterthought in this and many other matters.

Pretty sure He didn't say this "could" be my body, or "my body is next to this." Also, whence comes the notion of the Trinity? Just askin'. Posted by: tcn in AK at January 05, 2018 07:42 PM (7UW64) Wow, tcn, I respect you because your comments are usually pretty good. But I don't get this one at all. I think you may be Catholic, but I don't get your point at all. I'm Protestant, the problem might lie in the difference between catholic and protestant doctrine.
