Over 100 Companies Giving Out "Trump Bonuses" After Tax Reform Passage

The number of companies offering employee bonuses, pay hikes, and increases in benefits in reaction to President Trump's December tax reform victory is now over 100, with thousands of workers impacted and charities too.
Less than a day after Americans for Tax Reform put out an initial list of 40, it jumped to 52 as more company plans poured in.
And by the end of today, ATR's John Kartch told Secrets that the list will hit over 100. "Small businesses from across the country are sending me news of their tax-cut bonuses, wage hikes, and charitable donations. Many of these were only announced internally. There is a broad and deep tsunami building," added Kartch, ATR's vice president of communications.

The article contains a list of the companies giving out bonuses and pay hikes, usually accompanied with a statement directly linking the extra payments to the tax reform law.

35 Any company with a deferred tax liability accrued at 34% now has to take back into income the difference, 13%, as that liability only needs to be accrued at 21%. Many companies are earmarking that windfall as employee bonuses or outright wage increases. Very smart move showing the rank and file the benefits of voting for lower taxes for those eeeevil corporations.

91 Another angle on the deferred tax liability decreasing and thus automatically increasing corporate income, by sending it out in wages or bonuses, the employee is now paying tax on what would otherwise have been a windfall. So govt is still gonna get the revenue, just at different marginal rates. Giving it to the lowest on the wage ladder ensures that .gov still gets skitched a bit.

I did it just because my wife had to go through having kids etc. I really didn't want to spend the next 10 plus years doing spray and pray. And we decided we were done. What sealed the deal (no pun intended) was when our neighbors who are older had a kid in college and then an oooops! Back to the newborn phase. That day the appointment was made. It really wasn't that bad. As long as you do what they tell you to do. Book it for a Friday, spend the weekend on the couch with a frozen bag of peas and relax. I was lucky enough to schedule mine during the Masters. Everyone left me alone too!

And I was numb as fuck from the waste down. Was it fun? No. My wife had some medical things going on and it wasn't the best option for her and I was tired of condoms and or hoping that we didn't get pregnant as we decided we were done having children. You're not going to convince the men running around making women pregnant to get vasectomies. Most women getting the abortions probably couldn't even locate them at that point.

I think the best way to reduce abortions would be to force abortion clinics to give only the following offer: you only get an abortion if you agree to a tubal ligation at the same time.

It eliminates the future possibility of the taking of life by abortion for people who are prone to go in for these procedures.

The Catholic Church has never taught that the death penalty is, by itself, wrong. Rather, the prevention of harm to innocents trumps all other considerations. If the only way to stop a murderous bastard from murdering again is to off him, then that is what is expected to happen.

The disagreement comes when you toss in a supermax prison. Given the opportunity to prevent another murder by locking the shithead up forever, that is the preference, because, life.

But there is no prescription against a just war, for instance, and the soldiers who kill during a just war (to protect innocent life) are not murderers.
