The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

If President Trump does this it will be the poo-flinging to end all poo flingings. I mean, I consider myslef a professional, but this would elevate it to art!

It would be a fantastic trolling of the press, and it would stymie the Democrat's carefully laid plans to disrupt the SOTU address. They are already planning on wearing black (how original!), and I have no doubt that there are interruptions and other rudeness planned.

I haven't watched one in years. I just read the transcript and carefully avoid the pomp and circumstance involved, which I find distasteful for a country that fought a war to get out from under the thumb of royalty.

But....I think President Trump needs to speak directly to the American people; to tell them of his accomplishments and to tell them of his plans. The media is single-minded in its hatred of him, and simply refuses to report his successes. He must be his own media, and something tells me that he won't mind tooting his own horn on national TV.

******

Ah yes, the pinch-faced scolds of the new Left.

What a humorless turd this guy is. Imagine how much fun he is at cocktail parties. Does he run around fact-checking people's stories and admonishing them to be on the up-and-up?

Oh....he writes for the NYT, so he is immediately disqualified from any discussions of fake news, because he represents the organization that retired the trophy. Walter Duranty!

******

I considered not posting this tweet, because it shows an utter and complete ignorance of the way the world actually works, and I am sort of embarrassed for her. But she went to college for four years (notice I didn't say "graduated"). She should have picked up at least a few tidbits of knowledge about basic economics. Simple observation would have shown her that men's sports draw more fans than women's sports. Could she not have made the intellectual leap to her current situation? Or is her abject stupidity a reflection of the times, that if we believe we deserve something then it is incumbent upon society to provide that thing?

Why? Because for all of the bluster and Tweeting and the "yuge" and "bigly" and insults Donald Trump is an intelligent, careful person. He follows procedures and over the past year he has been winning by doing so. I do not see any value in doing "smash-and-crash" and risking everything. I do not see Donald Trump giving any of his political foes one opening to use on him and that is all I can see that will result from the path you are suggesting.

47 My fat cat was laying in the back yard a couple months ago, before it got cold. A squirrel came down (I have a pecan tree with a whole big family of squirrels in it with all their anchor babies) and got about 12" away from the cats head. The cat opened its eyes and slowly put out one paw and opened his mouth, like she knew she was supposed to do something, but she never lifted her head off the ground or twitched any other muscles. The squirrel dutifully backed off about 6 inches, and after that they both considered that they had done their jobs and gone through the motions, and ignored each completely.

I've seen a couple big raccoons wander through the yard when the cats are there. They get close, and it's kinds lake "Hey Frank! how's it goin'?" "Oh fine George, same old same old, say hi to the wife and kids for me." That's about all the reaction either of them have. Possums, same thing.

I know squirrels are pests, and the video did not send me to the fainting couch. I was merely annoyed with the guy who found it so amusing, thinking initially that he just likes to see animals die. If, however, he was amused by the wake-up call delivered to the saps who released the tree rat, then I understand that. Too many people forget that nature is brutal, even in your back yard.

Just a little clarification on a hasty poat.

178 "That fox knew exactly what he was doing."

Years ago we had an extremely intelligent half Siamese, half Manx cat - smarter than a lot of people I know. A neighbor had an indoor dog that would go crazy whenever it saw an outside animal. That cat used to wait until it knew the people weren't home, then it would get on the outside window sill of the living room window over there, and just casually sit and lick herself while the dog was going insane 6 inches away.

Some people think animals don't have a sense of humor - anyone who's had animals KNOWS that they do!

Publius' daughter is a bit SJW and simply does not get the whole - men's sports teams get paid more because their is a market for their talents that means they can demand it. The US women's soccer team has managed to hijack the narrative by pointing out that their team pulls in more than the men;s team when they play in the US and sometimes elsewhere int eh world - at which point I point out the fact that compared to the Premier League men's clubs the US women's team pulls in almost nothing. I usually get a "It's not the same thing Dad" to which I reply. "No. Yes it is. The market is a global one and it is a men's market ". The market for men players in soccer includes all of the great football leagues of the world and players are paid untold millions to be on the pitch at any given time. If our US men's soccer organization does not pay - the men will shuffle off to play somewhere else and get paid. If the women don't agree to their salaries . . . . their choice is . . . ? What exactly? No other country, essentially, pays anything to watch women's soccer (and in many countries it is openly mocked). So the market - other than the US venues, for women's soccer is zero dollars. Nothing. A big fat goose egg.

Now - this guys get's it - it is not that there is a "patriarchy" - its just that women's sports s*ck. ( not surrey I would go that far - but considering the speed strength and skill of them ens players due to their obvious psychical differences, woemen's sports are simply not as exciting).

Our late Sandy Baby (close encounter with a motor vehicle) was the opposite. He would turn our laundry room (has a cat door) into a charnel house.

He would stash squirrel carcasses out of sight and the smell would tip us off about them.

Sometimes he'd bring a squirrel or chipmunk upstairs into the kitchen or living room. Thankfully, he'd announce that and we could dispose of them quickly.

The cat eventually became an outdoor cat because she kept sneaking out.

Anyway one day the dog spies the neighboring cat loitering in the yard and decided to mete out some justice. He could have killed it since he was a somewhat big dog, but instead he snuck up behind it, charged it and with his nose threw it way up in the air - terrifying the neighbor cat...which after that didn't come back anymore...

Exactly.

How do you measure value, and hence just compensation. There is no inherent value in the ability to put a ball through a hoop, so the only value that might be attached would be the entertainment value. This can be objectively measured by butts in seats and eyeballs on screens.

We share season Spurs tickets with my sibs, and every year when we renew it's like being in the Instanbul bazaar haggling over rugs. They try to jack up the price, and then they offer package deals no one wants. Your NBA tickets would be cheaper if you also bought the WNBA and minor league hockey package.

Our answer was always:

A.What is "hockey" and why would we want to watch it?
B.We wish those WNBA girls the best, but we'll never go to any of their games.

We had a lovely dog named Beauregard when I was very young. He was beat up by a cat when he was a puppy, so he had no love whatsoever for cats. He was on a chain in the back yard and there was also an old wood fence about five feet high. The neighbor cats liked to walk on top of that fence, and Bobo knew exactly where his chain ended. He would wait until the cat was just within range, and then run at the fence and hit it hard, leaving said cat in midair over his gaping jaws.

My dad delivered more than one cat to his grieving owner in a black trash bag.

Oddly, Bobo would let us kids grab handfuls of fur, put our hands in his mouth, even ride on his back. The most gentle of dogs, really. But not to cats.

While it's a fun movie, and is somewhat honest, they don't bother to admit that the idea sputtered and died. There was no market for the product. And the only reason it started was the question of medically fit men being eligible for deferment.

Nobody noticed until suddenly, it started raining blood. He was wagging his tail so hard that drops of blood were shooting all over us. It took a while to determine that it was not Armageddon, but rather that he needed a bandage. He never made so much as a yip.

On a bit of a tangent, there is a gravestone in Boston that declares he was the first person killed in the war...in 1773. The British tried to impress this sailor and he "resisted"...so they killed him.

His call, of course, but all I know lately is that he has been adopting the pathetic and guaranteed failure approach of flirting with the stupidity of the Dems in order to give himself protective coloration. This retirement might signal that his seat is now gone (it was one of the few competitive seats in the House), unless there is personal motivation I don't know about.

The CA GOP, with a few exceptions (the inland districts), is a parody of an opposition party, a parody of a "choice" for voters. Which is a major reason it is so weak and pathetic. I wonder if there are any good data measuring "disillusioned GOP vote". I would bet turnout among GOP-registered or -voting voters in coastal CA has declined steadily for years.

A microcosm of the national/Beltway GOP's abandonment of real politics - differentiation, choices, etc. - in favor of ...... well, not much, really. Which is why the extraordinary and unprecedented question about the GOP - "what is it exactly that they stand for?" - is a common and natural question.

It's funny, I've seen a lot of photoshops of Obama as teh ghey, and every single one of them looked...... right.

We used to be able to post pictures here. Which is why Pixy hates the letters IMG in lower case. Anyway, I made a Photoshop of Obama and Jimmah Carter walking hand in hand and posted it here. It was a 'shop but otherwise unmanipulated. Obama looked so ghey he could have spontaneously combusted.

The outcry over that picture brought about the banning of pics.

Well, I suppose that when your entire persona is wrapped up in being angry at the entire world, I guess that's gonna leak out now and again.

Did some design work for a lesbian couple who were "married" long before such a thing was legal or recognized. One was hugely fat, and the other was rather butch. After about six months, they broke up, and split the kids between them. Lawsuits over money, houses, control, etc.

Beyond acrimonious.

And apparently they both were sleeping around the entire time before and after the split.

Great way to raise kids, ladies.

My rep, Repubican Lamar Smith is retiring, and he will be replaced by a Republican. Maybe he's the exception to the rule though.

18 Repubs are running in the primary, including a young cousin of mine whom I barely know. Four Democrats are running.

I thought the pics were banned because of the foofaraw about html wrecking the blog?

Plus code can be hidden in certain pics that can then run.

I'm no expert but that's what I thought happened.

I think that that's exactly what he was doing, trying to save his seat literally and figuratively. He's been in the Reds' crosshairs for a long time. Some civics-challenged people have criticized him for not having various malefactors executed, but he did his best as a committee chairman uncovering Democrat malfeasance, and thereby gained the Reds' undying enmity.

436 Holy crap re: The Gay domestic abuse

It's clearly a huge and recognized problem. Look at how pro-The Gay folks report it. From "Domestic Violence in the LGBT Community Fact Sheet" at the Center for American Progress-

https://tinyurl.com/pl7xnk5

Read closely. Quote:

"- One out of four to one out of three same-sex relationships has experienced domestic violence.

- By comparison, one in every four heterosexual women experiences domestic violence in her lifetime."

---

Did you catch it? One out of three relationships (gay) vs. one out of four women over her entire lifetime (straight).

Holy sh*t.

439 "The CA GOP, with a few exceptions (the inland districts), is a parody of an opposition party, a parody of a "choice" for voters. Which is a major reason it is so weak and pathetic. I wonder if there are any good data measuring "disillusioned GOP vote". I would bet turnout among GOP-registered or -voting voters in coastal CA has declined steadily for years."

Exactly - this is why I support the national Republicans taking positions and passing legislation which is "Fuck California 6 ways to Sunday" in every possible way. Kill their tax breaks, screw over Hollywood, to everything possible to kill their employment centers. This is war, California is enemy territory, and any supporters we have there just need to get out now.

On a serious note - there is nothing that requires the SOTU to be given to the combined houses of Congress. It can simply be a hand delivered, written address. I believe George Washington appeared in person once - was horrified at the conduct of the members of congress whom he ( rightly) considered to be a bunch of ill mannered inconsiderate jackholes and never went back. Swearing never to return he hand delivered after that.

I think Trump should schedule a nationwide address the eve before in a venue of his choosing with a hand picked audience and give a SOTU speech to "the People" saying "I now will give present the SOTU report that will be handed in to Congress, pursuant to the Constitution, tomorrow at 9:00 am, via hand delivery. Then give the entire speech, with special guests and all that jazz - standing O's, full honor guard in and out - hail to the Chief and then, afterwards fireworks and a military tattoo and state dinner attended by the first family and dignitaries. The only thing missing? F*cking Congress.

The next day - he could then have a low level flunky walk the actual envelope over to Congress and hand it to Pence ( President Pro Tem of the Seante) who will be waiting to receive. They can log it in as received and then adjourn with a statement that the congressmen will get copies "in due course".

BOOM
