Democrat Representative Accused of Sexual Harassment: Nancy Pelosi Knew All About These Charges And Helped Me Get Elected Anyway, So What's the Problem Now?

Dirtbags look out for one another.

A first-term Democratic congressman accused of sexual harassment said that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi knew about the allegations while he was running for office and supported him anyway, putting millions of dollars behind his 2016 congressional campaign.

During his campaign, Nevada Rep. Ruben Kihuen allegedly propositioned a female staffer for sex on multiple occasions and touched her thighs. The staffer resigned during Kuhen’s primary campaign as a result of his harassment, she told BuzzFeed.

Pelosi was quick to demand Kihuen’s resignation after the allegations became public, but she actually has known about the harassment allegations for a while, Kihuen told ABC News.

Although it doesn't really bother me, I have disliked Franken for 40 years and absolutely despised him for 20, so it is fun to watch him go down so hard in the witch hunt that he was all happy about til it caught him.

It's also better for the GOP when Franken is up for reelection. If he left now, the Dems could get someone new in there and then that person would be an incumbent when the seat comes up. Instead, if it is Franken running: vulnerable. Plus, Minnesota almost went Trump. A good GOP candidate against a damaged Franken just might steal that seat.

123 OT

Ace, there has been an incredible development in the world of artificial intelligence announced just yesterday that is not yet on the mainstream news but which is creating a huge amount of buzz in the chess world and is being compared to the moment that "Skynet went live."

Short version: a brand-new computer program absolutely DESTROYED the existing world's-best chess program.

Long version:

This "program" is not actually even a chess program, just an all-purpose algorithm for AI self-leaning. On a generic tabletop computer, it was simply taught the basic rules of chess, with no further instructions of any kind. Then it quickly played 700,000 games against itself, announced, "OK, I got this thang figured out," and they they matched it up against a dedicated chess program that was the result of 40 years of programming and is the cutting-edge best chess program ever, many many many orders of magnitude better than any human player, the highest rated program ever, and up until yesterday considered totally unbeatable, as it crunched millions of positions per second and had the best efforts of the world's best programmers and players built into it, running on high-end hardware.

Result? The new algorithm completely CRUSHED the dedicated program 28-0.

Everyone in the chess world is agog.

This new algorithm is the same one that made headlines a few months ago by beating the world Go champion in Japan.

The amazing part is not that it won, but that it was never instructed HOW to win or in ANY chess fundamentals, strategy or tactics. They simply programmed in "knight moves like this, rook moves like that; goal is to corner the king." Then within TWO HOURS it had independently re-invented all the best chess opening, and after about 8 hours of self-play and incremental "improvement" and figuring out the strategy had reached a strength level heretofore unimaginable.

Oh, they did the same thing with the Asian version of chess, and the algorithm similarly destroyed all competition within a few hours.

They said this self-learning algorithm is universal, not limited to chess or games or anything, and that it could be used for the program to self-learn ANY skill, knowledge, etc.

Some are saying that Dec. 5 will go down in history as the day computers became self-aware and self-guided.

156 Welcome. Do you like the island? My grandmother had an island. Nothing to boast of. You could walk around it in an hour, but still it was, it was a paradise for us. One summer, we went for a visit and discovered the place had been infested with rats. They'd come on a fishing boat and gorged themselves on coconut. So how do you get rats off an island? Hmm? My grandmother showed me. We buried an oil drum and hinged the lid. Then we wired coconut to the lid as bait and the rats would come for the coconut and... they would fall into the drum. And after a month, you have trapped all the rats, but what do you do then? Throw the drum into the ocean? Burn it? No. You just leave it and they begin to get hungry. And one by one...
they start eating each other until there are only two left. The two survivors. And then what? Do you kill them? No. You take them and release them into the trees, but now they don't eat coconut anymore. Now, they only eat rat. You have changed their nature. The two survivors. This is what Trump made Progressives.

When rolled in with the people's engagement on the internet, video surveillance, transaction monitoring, phone monitoring, vehicle tracking, etc., it's all pretty scary.

There was a mostly factual think piece back in the seventies (plus or minus a decade) that analyzed the possible interaction between humans and space aliens.

The first case, they are less advanced, and they would not be able to travel the distance to reach us. No problem.

The second case, they would be slightly more advanced and would be a major problem because they would see humans as inferior.

the third case, the space aliens were way more advanced and wouldn't even see us as 'intelligent life''; insects, annoying pests maybe like ants building nests on the circuit boards.

293 OT/ Jerusalem

If the UN & Arab states had not been working at re-writing history, the move may not have happened.

But in 2016, the UN did this:

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, just rewrote history, announcing the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is an exclusive Muslim holy place and has no connection to the Jewish people or their religion whatsoever.

Last week UNESCO adopted a resolution which refers to Israel as the “occupying power” in Jerusalem and on, what UNESCO calls, the al-Haram al-Shariff (Temple Mount). The Western Wall (Wailing Wall) that is today Judaism’s holiest site is referred to as “Al-Buraq Plaza” in the resolution.

Bottom line, they said Jews had no real connection to the Wailing Wall or the Temple of the Mount and re-named them.
I remember being gob smacked.

The UN really has become greatly about Arab interests. IMO, part of this Jerusalem move is to say to the UN and Palestinians...not so fast.

Want a recursive network? Feed the better quality test results back in to the teaching set. 360 One of the big steps will be when AI becomes self replicating, if it ever does. In other words--will the time come when AI doesn't need human involvement in the process of getting better.
And will AI ever develop their own goals, which, in many millennia, may clash with human goals.
There are just questions for the same of aimless speculation.

376 Re: The flaming skull side bar.

A poster at Instapundit pointed out that Giglio does not extend to plea bargains:
' In United States v. Ruiz, the Supreme Court held "the Constitution does not require the Government to disclose material impeachment evidence prior to entering a plea agreement with a criminal defendant." 536 U.S. 622, 633 (2002)'

However since that case is well known to criminal defense attorneys it would be obvious to even a layman that it would represent malpractice on the part of Flynn's defense attorney not to require the Government to state under oath that no exculpatory material evidence was being withheld from the defense. Even a public defender representing Flynn could win a motion to withdraw Flynn's plea bargain because of gross malpractice and incompetent defense by his former defense council if he failed to require the government to certify.

So either Flynn walks because of malpractice by his defense attorney - which means the FBI agent's testimony becomes inadmissible because of his personal bias - or Mueller's team lied under oath about having no exculpatory evidence. If its the latter Mueller himself might be having night sweats.

Well, you can isolate those resulting cases with highest confidence for each class (for discrete classification) or highest confidence throughout a range (if doing a contious estimation), and use subsets of those new training sets to make a series of new models.
