It's amazing the crap people will live in. But the show has to have conflict, that's why even though they have a "Board Certified Hoarding Specialist Psychologist and Garbage Tosser" on hand, they still let the friends and or relatives of the hoarder get exasperated after a half hour of helping and usually verbally attack the hoarder. Plus the "Timeline" that's imperative in all of these shows. Whether it's cleaning up a hoarders house, or getting a car ready for a customer....TIMELINE!!!!!

Of Course.

I got two slices of pumpkin from my SIL that she made on Friday. Why 2 I don't know. I used to get the whole damn pie.
I ate one yesterday. Should I have the other for breakfast, or save it for dessert after the pork chops on the grill lunch?

Hmmmm.

This morning, the IDF Fortitude Forum, a non-profit organization which aims to ensure that IDF military strength is not compromised at the expense of other factors, attacked the expected deployment in coming days of three tanks including 13 graduates of the first program for female IDF tank soldiers, for operational activity along the border in southern Israel.

The terrible attack that took place on Friday in northern Sinai, only 100 kilometers from the Israeli border, proves once again how the seemingly quiet borders can immediately become a battlefield, the Forum noted.

According to the members of the Forum, The units that guard the borders must be capable of fighting, and there is no room for exceptions as is the case with female tank soldiers, about whom Commander of Ground Forces, Major General Kobi Barak, said that it would be difficult for them to load the shells.

The placement of these tank crews to guard the borders endangers them and their male comrades, as well as the very ability to fulfill the task of defending the country's borders, the Forum added.

The time has come to halt the extraneous insistence on integrating women into positions that dont correspond to their physical abilities. The time has come to stop the imaginary race to equality and to examine the operational implications of integrating women into operational roles.

Amen

There were 900 shots counted individually in the series of videos that the NYT spliced together and that included the ones fired into the door of the room which could be separated from the ones fired into the crowd by the fact that they didn't have the sonic-boom crack at the outdoor location.

The door he was said to have fired 200 rounds through was pictured and has less than 20 rounds through it and the hallway is not torn up. I think the 200 story was an hysterical exaggeration by the security guy.

There are a couple of hundred Free (as opposed to State) churches there, called the Evangelical Free Church of Sweden. This denomination was imported with Swedish settlers to America. Heck, I'm still alarmed by the original question. WTF? "If you could kill [person] with the push of a button would you?" - it what universe is that appropriate? They whine about Trump being unpresidential and saying things that should not be said -- seems that he's got a lot of company.

Few weeks ago caught the NPR show 'Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me' - and they introduce their weekly game "Trump Dumps" - something riffing off of "silly" things Trump said that week. The host then said something like "And some weeks he has more dumps than would fit in an adult diaper." Yep, changed the station; did not need t hear more. Unbelievable.

I'm running Ubuntu with Firefox as browser. Free download. If the 'extra' laptop currently has internet connection then just go ahead and download it.

You won't regret it. I started with Windows 1.0a and got off the bus before Windows 10.

We were watching TV last night, and came across a Lawrence Welk Gospel Special, so we started watching. (Don't judge me.) I said, this is pretty good. It must be a PBS Beg show. It was. They wanted $60 for a deck of playing cards with Lawrence Welk and the Lennon Sisters on them.

They kept saying they are listener-supported. I laughed and laughed.

196 Mr. bluebell and I will be in the Smokies in a couple of months, and then for two nights in Asheville before heading home. Any recommendations for where to stay in Asheville? And is there anything we shouldn't miss, other than Biltmore?
Posted by: bluebell
---------------

Hmm. I'm the wrong person to ask about accommodations, I'm afraid.

Since we have become a 'destination', local hotels and such have become very pricey. If cost is not too large an issue, then the Grove Park Inn is my favorite, but I expect that room cost is in the neighborhood of $300 these days, perhaps even more, and it's not walking distance to the center of town.

There are plenty of hotels in town now, but I can't really speak to any of them. I would probably go with one downtown, as that way you can easily stroll to restaurants. Aloft and Indigo come to mind, but I've no personal experience with either. They are both modern.

The Biltmore Estate is almost a full day in itself, if everything is taken in (and I recommend that), and of course, there is a hotel on the estate itself.

It's tough to suggest other things to see/do, as we are not really partakers ourselves. I would lamely suggest stopping by the Asheville Tourist Center, which is pretty good.

The Trolley Tour would be interesting and informative, if you've never been here before.

Keep an eye out here for Asheville Robert, as he probably would have better advice.

Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.

A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody."

Most local music stores will do a free set up if you buy the guitar from them. If you get it online and take it in they will charge you.

This may sound goofy, but I have seen relatively inexpensive electric guitars with very small amps. The volume controls are a godsend, like electric keyboards, and the kids can play and feel 'cool' while they are learning to read. My own kids started practicing when they had the electronic versions and learned more rather than my insisting on the classical methods. The volume control saved me and my neighborhood.

210 "In one raid, the feds hauled away ebony fingerboards, alleging they violated Madagascar law. Gibson responded by obtaining the sworn word of the African island's government that no law had been broken.

In another raid, the feds found materials imported from India, claiming they too moved across the globe in violation of Indian law. Gibson's response was that the feds had simply misinterpreted Indian law.

Interestingly, one of Gibson's leading competitors is C.F. Martin & Co. According to C.F. Martin's catalog, several of their guitars contain "East Indian Rosewood," which is the exact same wood in at least 10 of Gibson's guitars. So why were they not also raided and their inventory of foreign wood seized?

Grossly underreported at the time was the fact that Gibson's chief executive, Henry Juszkiewicz, contributed to Republican politicians. Recent donations have included $2,000 to Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and $1,500 to Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.

By contrast, Chris Martin IV, the Martin & Co. CEO, is a long-time Democratic supporter, with $35,400 in contributions to Democratic candidates and the Democratic National Committee over the past couple of election cycles.

"We feel that Gibson was inappropriately targeted," Juszkiewicz said at the time, adding the matter "could have been addressed with a simple contact (from) a caring human being representing the government. Instead, the government used violent and hostile means."

That includes what Gibson described as "two hostile raids on its factories by agents carrying weapons and attired in SWAT gear where employees were forced out of the premises, production was shut down, goods were seized as contraband and threats were made that would have forced the business to close."

Gibson, fearing a bankrupting legal battle, settled and agreed to pay a $300,000 penalty to the U.S. Government. It also agreed to make a "community service payment" of $50,000 to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation - to be used on research projects or tree-conservation activities.

The feds in return agreed to let Gibson resume importing wood while they sought "clarification" from India.".......

Gibson eventually got it's hardwoods back from the HolderNazis, and used them in their Government Series guitars. Heh.

Let me suggest a fine Gibson for your starter guitarist.
