Sue the heck out of them if the Asian students are being discriminated against. Isn't this the school that was so pig heatedly progressive and overly concerned with snowflakes that they decided to cover up the frizeof a musket carried by a Massachusetts Bay Colony Separatist from the 1600's?. John Harvard, a young minister in the 1600' gave his entire library and half of his estate to fund the college. I can guarantee you that the education the people in the liberal arts get there nowadays would be laughable and incomprehensible to the students back then They had to know Latin and Greek really well to get in. I don't know that many Asian students would be majoring in liberal arts but they deserve to get in if qualified.

Another reason Asians don't get in is because they are shallow. They are taught that grades alone matter, so they get straight A's, and perfect SAT's and maybe play an instrument, but have no substance beyond that. They all go to Kaplans to get coaching on the perfect application essay. At the end of the day the admissions committee has 10,000 identical applications with nothing distinguishing between them.

Welcome to the multicultural society. This is what you get and no amount of wailing about it is going to change it.
Some of the California colleges are majority Asian now. No one denies they grind a ton on studying for tests. However, there is a serious cheating problem and the ACT/SAT were not designed for the grind mentality. They were meant for kids coming out of high school who simply went and took the test. Maybe the took a couple of practice tests by that was it. People who actually prepare for it like Asians do skew the results. BTW, look at what has happened with the tech certification tests. You rarely get any useful knowledge type questions. Now it's the obscure and rarely used stuff being asked to try and foil the Asians. Probably the usual DC shuffle. Lower level people will get punished but the top ones will skate with only the shame of being exposed. But it might be enough to shift the window a bit. It's beyond obvious to anyone who looks at what actually happened. Only question is how much of the evidence permeats the public consciousness. For every dollar a person receives in food stamps, Pelosi said that $1.79 is put back into the economy. The U.S. Department of Agriculture cites an even higher figure of $1.84. Now we just need to import a massive new population so we put them all on food stamps. PROFIT!!!!Oh wait..posted by: Cicero there is a degree of truth there ... as long as people accept paper money fabricated out of nothing. Trillions are floating around like that, and it is "put to work" by people that did nothing but manipulated the system. In the end people have to produce things, and "money" was supposed to facilitate the trade of such things. But government and private bankers figured they could get people to work for "fiat money" instead of getting real stuff. That CAN be useful, to keep people producing and therefor there is stuff for others to buy, and it keeps people actively producing (goods and services). BUT how much of that is just consumed by those that consume nothing ... or those that produce nothing ... while real producers keeping getting the short end? So middle class (producer) good people controlled by elite manipulators that buy welfare class votes. And that is just America ... now they want the world and to avoid voters entirely (see the EU, and Hillary's hemisphere of open borders) But keep working for YOUR stuff, while those in inflated stocks make free money by the billion while doing nothing. They need a few good men. Posted by: illiniwek at November 22, 2017 07:44 PM (/aIFg) 337

Yea or nay? It uses a clip which I am not used to but I'm sure I can learn.Posted by: Jewells45can handle your jewels at November 22, 2017 07:37 PM (CNHr1) It's hard to say, Jewells, because there are so many variables. First is the manufacturer. You'll hear all sorts of horror stories about Taurus, but I think they're fine. I have two Taurus pistols that I've been perfectly happy with. Next is the model. There are lots of single-stack 9mm's out there like the 709 Slim. They're popular because they're easy to conceal. The problem, especially for new shooters, is that they all can be snappy as hell. If you've shot enough to know you aren't sensitive to recoil, the 709 Slim might be fine for you. I couldn't suggest you buy before you've fired some small 9mm's, though. I have Taurus Millenium G2. It's a compact double-stack 9mm that sells for the same price as the 709 Slim--$200 when you find a sale. I think it's an excellent value. All Harvard has to do to beat the rap is quote affirmative action regulations. Harvard was affirmatively selecting for low test scores because it was the only way low achievers could attend Harvard. It would be unfair to deny the low achievers their chance at a Harvard education. See? If the overachievers were the only people at Harvard then income inequality would get worse when all the smartest and best-educated people took all the money away from poor people. This was all explained in the book "Welcome to the Monkey House" by Kurt Vonnegut. Posted by: Skandia Recluse at November 22, 2017 07:48 PM (4XCge) 352

There are some small to mid frame 38 Special revolvers you should look at for carrying in a purse. People tend to overlook the caliber because it's old school, but I really doubt many people who have been shot with one enjoyed the experience.

Don't own any Taurus pistols, but their revolvers are dependable, as are Rugers and S ampersand W's. As for autos, don't own any Rugers, and only 1 S ampersand W.

"This is why I ask the professionals."
I should make it clear that I'm FAR from a professional. Weasel is a professional--not me. You're seeing comments about Sigs, CZ's, etc. Those are valid. If you have the money, go for it. But you won't find a CZ or Sig for $200. I've put about 1000 rounds through my Millenium G2 with zero failures. Zero. That's a good value for $200. To put things into perspective, this, at the upper end of the pistol hierarchy.
From Cabot Guns. (some of you already know what this mean$) http://tinyurl.com/ybnvu44w Mirror image 1911s in .45 ACP. Both fabricated from the same iron-nickel meteorite. As with all Cabot Guns, the tolerances are stated as +/- 1/1,000,000th inch to specification. Price tag is at the bottom of that somewhat long advertorial. It's worth the read. As to worth the price? "Diversity" is ENTIRELY about racial discrimination.
Virtually every college and large business in America is guilty of it, and the federal government REQUIRES it. Whites, Jews, Asians get discriminated against. As do Men, Heterosexuals and Christians. "Protected minorities" (Blacks, Hispanics) and Native Americans are the beneficiaries. As are women, homosexuals, Muslims, and now 'transgenders'. What Harvard is doing here is just the single snowflake at the very top of the biggest iceberg in history.
