13 Willowed:

Goodell did a good job of hollowing out the Cowboys with Ezekiel Elliott's suspension.

Hard to believe that one guy is that important, but without him the Cowboys sputter out on offense consistently,

and the defense stays on the field so long that they're worn out by the second half.

If this is part of some long-standing feud between Jones and Goodell that's just become noticeable to the rest of us in the last few weeks,

I guess it's Goodell 1 Jones 0.

34 I love these crowd scenes by Steen. The colors in this one are somewhat muted because it's indoors but they blend well and aren't dull. Like Rembrandt, the characters are each distinct and individual. There is a LOT to take in for the viewer. (Maybe the ancestor of "Where's Waldo"?) And the outright humor, not moralistic scolding about demon rum, makes the whole painting fun and effective.

CBD, Thanks. A great choice for the day after Thanksgiving.

Now to go back and look at it some more for all the different people and, especially, the musical instruments.

It's a little-known fact that Da Vinci was, in addition to being a master drafter and inventor, a superb chef. He is credited by those in the know with creating what is now modern Italian cooking. His meatball recipe had been thought lost for hundreds of years, but it was discovered recently by a small group of monks who deciphered a peculiar code he used in one of his more risque novels, and there it was!

The Dutch were the economic powerhouse of Europe for a time. From what I am told, the low countries were held by the Spanish who managed them in a Spanish manner, and finally the locals told them they were doing it wrong.

What the Spanish finally conceded to hold the peace, was to allow their possessions in the low countries to set up their own tax collection system and just pay revenues to the Spanish Crown.
So they did and did it so effectively and efficiently the Netherlands section wound up with surpluses.
So they Netherlands started a state bank and were so successful they became bot serious players in European banking, and fairly powerful and rich, and a model for other European kingdoms' state banks (for one it was a 100% reserve bank
Based on this the low countries took the first opportunity available to revolt against the Spanish.

Anyhow their liberty, banking resource and the position on the North Sea allowed funding of exploration and trade, which made them really rich.

A lot of this sort of painting is to chronicle and criticize what people did with their new affluence.

I also think it's interesting that studying art works is part of her devotional life as a contemplative nun. I recommend this work highly to those interested in art. She had a normal family living in a normal house until her father read a little to much Jack Kerouac and convinced her mom to drop out with him. Pretty scary how people can just go crazy evil.

206 Polliwog, not the first Greenie willing to harm in the name of the cause of stopping a pipeline.

Louis Hastings in 1983 in the town of McCarthy Alaska went on a killing rampage that resulted in six murders. His plan was to apparently hijack the mail plane to get to one of the Alaskan Pipeline stations to sabotage it. The scum is presently serving almost 600 years in prison.

The sordid tale can be found in chapter ten of a book called Murder at 40 Below:True Crime Stories from Alaska by Tom Brennan. The TV channel Investigation Discovery did a crime episode on him.

Anyway, this is their selling point "Get so hard your wife will be limping". Does this appeal to some men?; I suppose so. or they wouldn't phrase it that way, but my point of view is that I don't want to be in pain or limping after having sex so I can't think it would be that appealing to many women either.
