Matt Lauer, NBC Insiders Rip Megyn Kelly's Ratings

When an industry insider remarked to Lauer last week that celebrities are being advised to avoid Kelly's "Megyn Kelly Today" -- amid ratings struggles and awkward snafus with famous guests-- a Page Six spy overheard Lauer reply that he "gets it," adding, "It's a big problem for them," meaning Kelly's show. Insiders were stunned that the veteran "Today" host didn't try to defend his new colleague. ...NBC is said to be considering a name change to de-emphasize Kelly's role on the show. They are considering calling it Ratings Poison Featuring Megyn Kelly.
"This week was the lowest Kathie and Hoda have rated since 2010," said a source. "It keeps getting worse. Megyn is killing them. It is a real problem and no one wants to book Megyn's show," the insider said. Another source added, "They can keep telling you about all the lunches they’re taking her to, but it's not helping the ratings."

Having been there (and sometimes wishing I still was), try asking out 10 women a day. Just for coffee or for lunch. Say hi, ask their name, introduce yourself, say something nice about them. Then ask if they're free for coffee today.
You WILL get rejected a lot but after two weeks or so of trying, you will get dates. Sometimes sooner.
Gotta push past the rejection numbers. It's all a numbers game.
Unless you live in Iowa. Then you're just out of luck.

If you start and stop a stopwatch during an NFL game, while the ball is actually in play, something like 9 minutes will have ticked off your watch. All the rest is spectacle. The New collective bargaining agreement is coming. Look for the players to try to get something like the NBA has, where 67% of the revenue per team is a paid out in salaries.
It will change the nature of the ownership over the next few years. And I would not doubt that this kneeling crap is actually part of the Players Association strategy to bend the owners over the car fender for a good rodgering.

And those stadiums being empty? I have yet to see any side by side views from say the year before or before that.
And it really isn't football season yet. These are all add ins to pump up seat sales. So the empty seats and viewers don't mean squat. Yet.

Probably true. The Browns Stadium was half empty at their last home game, but they are the worst team in football, and their fans are tired of being abused.
The Super Bowl will probably still be a ratings bonanza, but then again, maybe not.

Or you could tell ESPN which lost about a half a million viewers. Last month.
ESPN owns Monday Night Football. Maybe not much longer and certainly not what they paid for the rights to date.
This is going very badly for the NFL and very fast.

nfl attandence and viewership is down and anger is growing. Yes they
still draw but the trend is the wrong way. And it has become racial and
very political and there is a new sheriff in town.
I think this is the most important thing. The average player is black. The average fan is white. That fan can no longer deny that the players hate him.

In the here/now, you have the NFL Network/DirectTV cancellations (correct me if I get a detail wrong here). Probably declines in merchandise sales. Nearly certain declines in game-day revenues (lower actual attendance at games).
Who knows. Whatever the NFL outcome, it's just one more disgusting example showcasing many of the pathologies afflicting America today.

Personally, I think a lot of liberal hate (no matter what the race) is simply based on not wanting to take responsibility.
Don't make a lot of money? Blame America.
Get a disease? Blame America.
It's much easier to blame someone, anyone, than take responsibility and say "I could have worked harder" or "I made bad choices" or simply "yes, bad things do happen to good people. "

That is quite sad, really. My youngest son is marrying a black girl next year (she is already pregnant with my first grandson), and she is a very sweet person.
