Sean O'Casey Quote II From this day forward, somebody propose it, liberals should not be allowed to buy guns. It's just that simple. Liberals should have their speech controlled and not be allowed to buy guns. I mean if we want to get serious about this, if we want to face this head on, we’re gonna have to openly admit, liberals should not be allowed to buy guns, nor should they be allowed to use computer keyboards or typewriters, word processors or e-mails, and they should have their speech controlled. If we did those three or four things, I can’t tell you what a sane, calm, civil, fun-loving society we would have. Take guns out of the possession, out of the hands of liberals, take their typewriters and their keyboards away from ‘em, don’t let ‘em anywhere near a gun, and control their speech. You would wipe out 90% of the crime, 85 to 95% of the hate, and a hundred percent of the lies from society. Rush Limbaugh Quote III The kitchen is well equipped and stocked. There’s a stove, a refrigerator full of food, a table with a rolling pin and a bowl, and a sink with Ivory soap. The wall calendar, featuring with a sailing ship, says it’s April 1944. But there’s something else: Every item is miniature, hand-crafted, and a doll lies on the floor, apparently dead, cause unknown. This is one of Frances Glessner Lee’s Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death, a series of 1/12-scale dioramas based on real-life criminal investigation cases. They were used—and continue to be studied even today—to train investigators in the art of evidence gathering, meticulous documentation, and keen observation. And they were created by one of the most unlikely and influential figures in crime scene forensics. But when it comes to millennials, these analyses often go haywire. Before we know it, we’re not talking about how certain trends are squeezing all of society – and some groups in different ways than others. We’re talking about how millennials are lazy, entitled and really just need to work harder. (Even though, confusingly, they’re also workaholics). For some people bonfire night is one of the highlights of the year, for others is a night of distress and terror. That’s why a petition has been started to place a ban on public use of fireworks. Moon shines through Grenfell Tower making it look like people are 'home again' At the time of writing more than 2,000 people have signed the petition which claims fireworks ’cause alarm, distress and anxiety to many people and animals’.Ooooh Ahhhhhh Do you enjoy WTF mysteries? If you do, do we have the story for you. Murder? What murder? It was an accident. h/t Anonosaurus Wrecks There’s been a new development in the case of the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall (which I’ll get to in a moment) which makes an already insanely bizarre case even more strange. If you haven’t been following the story of Wall’s death and the accusations against Danish inventor Peter Madsen, I’ll warn you in advance that this gets particularly gruesome in a hurry. But at this point, there are some who are actually beginning to wonder if this strange story could actually have taken place the way police suspect. However, with a 10.6/18 in metered market results, last night was not so stellar for NBC and the NFL. In a seemingly ever-escalating political atmosphere for the ratings-battered league, that marks a 3% dip from last week’s SNF, when the Seattle Seahawks beat the Indianapolis Colts 46-18. That is also a season low for SNF in a season that has been mired in controversy and ratings decline. So since MH included the NFL thing here, just want to note that I came across a response from Brian in N.O. to those wondering why he thought Trump's intervention in the anthem drama was a negative.
To summarize (I hope accurately), Brian said that organic, serious issues are heading towards a crack-up/etc. in the next few years (players' contract arrangement, etc.). OK, fair enough, interesting, the NFL had other challenges before this anthem b.s. started. But then he repeats his mysterious assertion that Trump's involvement "normalized" the protests. At least it's a mystery to me. I think Trump's actions only highlighted and intensified the controversy. And the controversy is hurting ratings (and probably other things). Which only adds to the organic financial/contractual other tensions building for the league. So how does any of that "help" the NFL? Just don't follow the argument. Maybe if Brian comes along he'll correct my premises or something. But for now I see his premise, that Trump "normalized" the protests, baffling - as in, I see no basis for it. Um - Hydrocodone is a semisynthetic opioid narcotic it's a schedule II drug Posted by: Batterup at October 10, 2017 10:23 PM (mtGE/) It's relatively inexpensive compared to the other opioids. That's why I think insurance carriers and WC carriers didnt put up a big fight when it started to be over prescribed. It just recently became a schedule II. The only pain med on that list is not one that is any problem. The opioid overdose problem is the cutting of street heroin with fentanyl which needs only a tiny dose to be an overdose. This drug is not one which is prescribed but you get it in a hospital for very severe pain. It is coming in over the border and is said to be made in Russia and China for sale on the blackmarket.

Average IQ is typically considered in the range of 90 to 110. A cutting off point of just over that average IQ range would make sense if high intelligence was necessary, such as with a good amount of police work. However, New London, in Connecticut, has decided that those with high IQs will be barred from serving as a police officer.

207 Lincoln is the most consequential American political figure. Washington is the greatest.
Posted by: CM900 at October 10, 2017 10:54 PM (fS3tz) I would argue that Washington is both. Without Washington: 1) If he had been a different man, he would/could have made himself king. We dodged a mighty bullet that would have been hard for any other man to give up. 2) Washington set the precedent of only serving two terms instead of being a defacto dictator for life. Which continued until a dem scumbag got in power and did not let go until carried out the door feet first. 3) Lincoln loses because of the things he did to win the civil war. I am not saying he was wrong in the moment, but in the greater scheme of things it may be a losing proposition (income tax, leviathan centralized government, suspension of certain liberties in times of crisis, etc.) Posted by: Aetius451AD Work Laptop at October 10, 2017 11:06 PM (rb1zT) Posted by: ibguy at October 10, 2017 11:06 PM (vUcdz) 267

52 So since MH included the NFL thing here, just want to note that I came across a response from Brian in N.O. to those wondering why he thought Trump's intervention in the anthem drama was a negative.
Posted by: rhomboid at October 10, 2017 10:24 PM (g6yUI) ++++ Trump did unite the NFL against him. And, the NFL's allies in the media. And, other reflexively anti-Trump types. But, Trump has most of the NFL's fans on his side. So, even though most of the players and coaches and owner are all united, losing the fans cost them the game. They cannot win in the long run. Which is why we are seeing movement by various parts of the NFL coalition. They know they miscalculated how the fans would react, so they must retreat. Posted by: Anon Y. All of that. Once you call someone "Hitler" you, by extension, call all of his supporters Nazis - you haven't just insulted him, you've insulted them. Same with this mess. It wasn't enough to say, "Hey, Trump, can it!" and go on with their lives, they had to do the thing that their fans hated even more: thus insulting the fans. Whoops. Even more, Trump doesn't care what they say about him. As far as he's concerned (and so far he's been proven right), there is no such thing as bad press for him. Rose McGowan tried everything she could do after being assaulted by Weinstein; she went to the law and was told by the DA he wouldn't prosecute, she sued Weinstein and forced him to pay a settlement. She had to sign an NDA in exchange. Evidently she "learned her lesson" about powerful people in Hollywood and the futility of saying "no" - she is one of the actresses on the producer's "lost camera" in The Fappening 2017. I suspect that is why she is breaking the NDA and saying what she is saying; she figures she doesn't have anything to lose anymore.

"But, Trump has most of the NFL's fans on his side. So, even though most of the players and coaches and owner are all united, losing the fans cost them the game. They cannot win in the long run. Which is why we are seeing movement by various parts of the NFL coalition. They know they miscalculated how the fans would react, so they must retreat."
Since you framed this in somewhat military terms, and rightly so: The NFL and the players made a great tactical play, uniting against their enemy, unifying, taking it nationwide - but they made a huge strategic error, in that they never realized that Trump and his forces would be able to move around behind them and cut off all of their supply lines. Now all Trump and his forces have to do is wait, because the NFL's position is guaranteed to collapse in time, and they have no way of getting back to where they were before this started. Tactics wins battles, Strategy wins wars. Posted by: Tom Servo at October 10, 2017 11:31 PM (V2Yro) 361

I disagree. What "battle" did they win? Get the "Smart Set" to praise them? They'd praise Stalin and (the real) Hitler before they'd even acknowledge that Trump might have a point. Their only way to win (or, at least, "not lose") was to ignore Trump. Do that (and, perhaps, quietly encourage individuals to stand for the anthem and take their protest to Facebook or pre- or post-game interviews), and you keep the status quo. But other than that (which, admittedly, only has "not a loss" to recommend it), their only options were bad. Either capitulate publicly and get destroyed by their erstwhile media allies, or (as they did) double-down on the protests and lose their fan base. I'm not sure they could have survived either way. Logistics wins wars. Trump doesn't need the NFL, nor the voters they were pandering too. The NFL needs Trump's core voters eyeballs and money. They, the Trump voters, are enjoying this. They hate Roger, they are annoyed by all the player antics, and beating the NFL empowers them. Trump is making them happy, very happy. This is dangerous for the Left. And yet somehow I have managed to be take opiods for 12 years without resorting to heroin. Look, I have more sympathy for addicts than I used to, because I do think some people can't help it, but it's no damn different than saying we have to restrict fucking OTC cold medicine because some assholes make crank or whatever out of it. Seriously, I am the one who has to be punished because other people are breaking the law?! Until these stupid ass laws changed, I went through one full bottle of Percocet 5mg and maybe a third of another per year. YEAR. My doctor gave me one whopping refill in every year, if I needed it, and sometimes I didn't even need it because I had plenty left over. Now that the laws have changed, I have to go to a fucking pain clinic. I have to go every other month. Every other fucking month. Random pee test. So, 120 bucks for the dr visit, 600 bucks for the pee test. I always have pills left over, so I don't get another rx, which is okay except did I mention I just paid 700 fucking dollars to come in to this fucking place? Did I mention I have to do this shit every other fucking month, for some reason this random test is also every other fucking month, and in case I didn't mention it, all this costs me 700 dollars?! And that I have to do this every other fucking month? I'm guessing it'd be a whole fucking lot cheaper to buy heroin, and that's why people are doing it as much as anything (talking about people who legit need it, not your average recreational user). Oh and if I get caught with more than 30 pills, I get arrested for dealing. Don't have to actually caught selling them, just having them. So I could have 28 pills for an entire year, but still have to keep going in for absolutely nothing. Types Deletes Types Deletes. Oh and thank you Obamacare. All this used to cost me two, ten dollar co-pays. And I could at least have some extra on hand if I went on vacation or something. Now I have to time my god damned vacation around my god damned 700 dollar doctor's visits. And lemme tell ya, that season long baseball stadium dream vacation we hoped to take when Thor retired?Oh hell no, because did I mention I have to go to the god damned pain clinic every other fucking month? I mean, yes, I can do that, but then it's back to square one, which means a consultation. The initial consultation is a cool thousand bucks, and hey, did I mention I will need a pee test again, which I may have mentioned is 600 bucks? On top of the one thousand dollar new patient consultation that I have to have because I dared skip my two month visit? But should we want to take another extended vacation at any pint... I want to spend a summer touring Canada one year, take another Euro trip.... well, then I am obviously dealing drugs and they'll no longer see me. It's the only pain clinic for two hours, but even if I want to make that drive, THEN, Gentle Readers, I'd clearly be shopping clinics to get drugs. It's a fucking racket is what it is, and Uncle Sam must be getting a helluva cut. And junkies still gonna get their junk. All this bullshit stops exactly zero criminals. But it sure keeps the Feds employed and flush with cash (Gotta certify with the Feds for your license to run a pain clinic and testing labs, dontcha know) Posted by: Tammy al-Thor at October 10, 2017 11:51 PM (kuFbc) 409

Flagstaff had a Drive Through Liquor Store that served 'Roadies'.
Also. It was a gun shop. So, you could roll up, order a Martini to go and grab a box or two of shells. Tammy,
That's a state law, there, isn't it? I remember we discussed this many moons ago, but I can't remember the details. Does this apply to specialists -- ie some neurologist or something who might be able to prescribe as opposed to a GP? Those "pain clinics" are indeed basic scams. And it's only going to get worse for those who need this stuff because of all the abuse. Posted by: publius, the Persistent Poperin Pear at October 10, 2017 11:58 PM (8O3HH) 430

>> Why a potted plant?
Read the details of that incident. It involved Lauren Sivan, formerly a FOX hottie. We're joking about it because, well, spooging into a potted plant and all is just hilarious, but this was rapey behavior. He gets Ms. Sivan to "take a tour" of the facilities at some club, the owner of which he's buddies with. And thus the staff take orders from him. He gets off into in the kitchen and orders all the staff to get out and leave them alone. Ol' Harv corners her and tries to kiss her. She protests and pushes him off. Harvey has her blocked off somewhere in or near the kitchen area of this club. He pulls it out and starts whacking off to her. If she won't let him bang her, hell, he'll just whack to her right then and there. He tells her to "shut up and stand there" until he finishes. Which he does into a potted plant, which happens to be nearby. He has her cornered, and if she wanted to run, she'd have to run right past him, while he's whacking. He then calls her the next day to ask her out, telling her "I had a great time last night". That's what the potted plant thing is about. Well, hopeless to untangle in a comment format, but while much said in response to my raising the Brian in N.O. thesis again, nothing really on-point to the narrow question I had - how Trump getting involved affected, especially positively, the outlook for an NFL facing big, separate challenges in the next few years (union contracts, etc.).
But don't agree at all (and Brian had this as part of his premise, though it wasn't the "so what" part) that it became about Trump, at least not for most, and not for more than a day or two. I don't hear anyone on either side bringing up Trump much. Nobody is watching games, despite anger over stupid racist stunts during the anthem, because Trump is on "the other side". The fresh data point of Pence at the Colts' game may be the talk today, but watch, by next Sunday it's back to the main issue - protesting the anthem. That's what the trouble is about, not Trump, not Pence, that's what it has always been, and will remain. Note that no possible resolution of this (and I think Meremortal's original analysis that there is no real, good escape for the NFL on this is correct) involves Trump. It's not about him, wasn't, and won't be. He may benefit, and "win", in some sense, but it's not about him. Posted by: rhomboid at October 11, 2017 12:13 AM (g6yUI) 469

I do think it's jacked up, though; the law is every three months once clean urine tests have been established within a certain timeframe, iirc. But there is awful turnover, new staff every time I go, which probably makes for chaos, and I also think they're terrified of not testing properly so they want to err on the side of caution. The trouble with opioids (there is a difference between opioids and opiates, look it up if interested) is they hit the euphoria receptors in the brain. They make you feel real good, when the dose is high enough. This is the brain's reward center. When you accomplish something, you get a rush of "endorphins" which are the natural chemicals that hit those receptors. They also hit other receptors, such as those that control breathing and shit. And you build up tolerance. It takes more and more of the drug to get the same euphoric effect. Now, the two curves, the euphoria effect vs the breathing suppression, follow different slopes vs tolerance. An addict gets close to a coffin corner, where the euphoric dose is close to the lethal dose. The other main route of ODing is when an addict goes cold turkey for a bit. The tolerance decreases quickly, and when he finally gets another hit, the dose he was taking fine before is now a lethal dose. The trouble with opioids is they are *too* good. I once knew a guy who was in AA and he became involved for a while with a former heroin addict who was in NA. He said something I found interesting. He said alcoholics he knew always wanted to be normal, and kidded themselves that their drinking was normal even after it was clear to everyone else it was not.
He said "when you choose to stick a needle in your arm you're not trying to be normal. you're saying fuck normal. You're consciously placing yourself outside of social norms." He said that's why the relationship with the heroin addict didn't work - even though she wasn't using drugs any more, she had a basic resistance to being normal, which she equated with normal. After 2 DUis and a wrecked marriage, he wanted normal. Posted by: Donna&&&&V sez: I'm rooting for the Tribe in the postseason at October 11, 2017 12:26 AM (P8951) 494

I want to say the visit schedules are, too, but that may be state. The Ozarks are even worse than KY/WV, I think for opiod abuse. Truly I think it's the Scots/Irish-mixed- with-Native gene pool. Look up the Schedule stuff. All opioids are Sch. II, now. Some, such as those with acetaminophen, used to be Sch III (because you couldn't increase the dose without taking too mych Tylenol, and destroying your liver), but they changed that. Sch I is the illegal stuff, like heroin, cocaine, even pot. So Sch II is the most controlled behind the flat out illegal stuff. Here in SC, there is a 30 day rule, and that's state law. The rheumatologist I see can prescribe them, easy enough, but GPs usually will not. The DEA monitors this stuff, and if some doc looks funny, they can make his life miserable. A rheummy has much more leeway. And above, someone mentioned oncology. Yeah, there's not problem there at all. Even less than with rhuemmies. With terminal cancer, or close to it, heroin would be fine. It would be better than morphine. Posted by: publius, the Persistent Poperin Pear at October 11, 2017 12:37 AM (8O3HH) 523
#486 I wonder if it might be different for Canada recognizing an American doctor's prescription here just because of closeness both in literal proximity and between medical communities? I know doctors here who studied in the States and worked here or in both countries. (Although not at the same time like Mon-Wed in Toronto and Thurs-Sat in Buffalo!)
From a quick look using Bing, US medical degrees are treated the same as Canadian ones for being allowed to apply to practice in Canada that's not true for any other nation (not even other white Commonwealth countries like the UK or Oz) so I wonder. (Although it looks like Oz, Eire, and the UK are okay for family practitioners -- maybe the others are for specialist positions?) >> but I have been so nervous about continuously
>> upping the dose That is the trap, and the danger indeed. Tolerance. There are things you can do, but do not trust amateur pharmacologist Publius or anyone else on the internet. Consult with real experts and make up you mind. Dextromethorphan (DM), the cough stuff, can mitigate tolerance somewhat. There are other things that can increase the effect of opioids without increasing the dose. There's a term for this, I forget. Benadryl and some other antihistamines can do it. What they do is saturate some path in the liver that breaks down various drugs, making the opioid metabolic path slow down. You can do stuff like this to keep from increasing the dose. But again, research that your own self and make up your mind. Stuff like this can be dangerous. Posted by: publius, the Persistent Poperin Pear at October 11, 2017 12:57 AM (8O3HH) 570

When my father his hip (because Ambien, plus other things), it got to hurting him really bad in the ER. Now, with the elderly, drugs are a bigger problem because they can affect them worse, and metabolize them differently. Well, they had given Dad enough morphine that his blood O2 was dropping slightly. That was the limit. But he was still hurting, so the doc put him on O2, and had the nurse slowly give him more morphine while watching the O2. They were able to get him eased off, but they had to watch the O2. Everybody reacts differently to drugs, especially the various pain drugs. You can see that on this thread. For me, over the years, many years, I've had a number of pain meds for pain. Percodan, Percocet, Vicodan, Tylenol 3, the last was Norco. Never made me sleepy or nauseous or addicted. Kills the pain usually, though for back pain they never help me, for that rest and a back brace works after a few days.
If the pain is lesser then Ibuprofen works though I'll take as much as 800 mg every 6 hours at times. Tylenol doesn't do anything for me but for my wife when her MS has a flareup and she's not doing well 500 or 1000 mg will bring her right back. There is for many/most people some drug out there that would addict you if you took it over some period of time. You won't know what it is unless you do it. The most addictive drug is nicotine, it hooks 70% or so of people who try it. Alcohol is around 10% and most addictive drugs are at 5 to 10%. Addiction isn't good but the worst drugs are the addictive ones that make people crazy/violent. Meth and all the CNS stimulants are this kind of bad. Alcohol does also, lesser but it is a cause of many horrible crimes as some people get violent when drunk. Like I said, everyone reacts differently, but politicians figure everyone is exactly the same. I and my present wife met back in the early 70s working at an early drug intervention/ crisis hotline place some friends of mine started to help people. We re-met and married in 2001. We have seen more than our share of what drugs and drug policy/law do to both wreck and help people. That's it for me tonight. Posted by: geoffb at October 11, 2017 01:13 AM (zOpu5) 609

They have lowered the max recommended daily dose of Tylenol/acetaminophen (paracetamol for those who speak Brit) from 4000mg to 3000mg because of liver damage studies. Interestingly enough, in the UK, they used to make a formulation of it that included the antidote. It's interesting because what is toxic to the liver is not the drug itself, the original compound, but one of the metabolites. And that varies somewhat with the pathway. But, to neutralize the toxic metabolite the liver needs some other compound (which I forget). You can get this in several ways. But, if you add something that will give the liver the added neutalizing compound it needs, you're okay. And you can add this right into the pills with no reduction in the effect of the original drug. Which is neat, because usually an antidote counteracts the thing it is acting against. But they don't make it anymore. Posted by: publius, the Persistent Poperin Pear at October 11, 2017 01:37 AM (8O3HH) 673

Posted by: Eddie Lampert at October 11, 2017 01:34 AM (1kkde) Heh. The other big gripe with Sears. Trying to position themselves as an upscale "fashion" department store. When every mall they anchor, and all the ones around them are chock full of "fashion" emporia. The name "Sears" is the kiss of death for a dedicated fashion faddist, and the term "fashion" drives away the solid burghers who just want durable, good quality mens' and ladies' clothing that won't cost them an arm and a leg. Oops -- Once a titan of Canadian retail, Sears Canada announced Tuesday that it is going out of business, putting 12,000 people out of work and shuttering all operations nationwide.
A scenario soon to be repeated in the US. Posted by: GnuBreed at October 11, 2017 01:25 AM (0ogQG) Sears is really one of the biggest loser stories on Earth. The company that made its name through a catalog and mail-order business was too stupid to understand how to use the internet. Sears was a company made for the internet - the original Amazon, as it were. They even had little non-stores that had no merchandise but just served as depots for the mail order pick-up. But this company, that had pioneered large scale mail-order and doing business through a catalog couldn't figure out how to put their friggin catalog on a web site. It was really one of the most pathetic corporate fumblings anyone could have had the misfortune to watch. Well ... even after Sears is long gone they will still have the Sears Tower - I don't care what the douchebag owners try to call it, it will always be the Sears Tower as far as I'm concerned. And it will stand like Ozymandias. Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at October 11, 2017 01:43 AM (8gDQu) 686

Tammy,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NAPQI That's the wiki on tylenol toxicity. "NAPQI" is the abbreviation of the toxic metabolite compound. What the liver needs to counter it is glutathione. Too much NAPQI depletes the liver's stores of glutathione and liver damage results. To counter it, you just replace it fast enough before any damage occurs. ------------------------ And that's a shining example of the dangers of this potentiation stuff. If your liver is whacky in the right way, it could be dangerous or do nothing at all. It depends on which enzyme system is involved. Or you might be able to take advantage of that whackiness and be able to do something with it that wouldn't normally work. The NFL is in the business of selling their large audience. They make billions doing so. The direct customers that give them the billions are ESPN, CBS, Fox, NBC, Verizon, DirecTV, and Amazon, not the fans. The NFL sells everything they can including the National Anthem at the super bowl. So instead of getting the Marine Corps band we get whatever pop star's agent is willing to make the best deal. We end up with horrific musical "interpretations" of the Star Spangled Banner aimed at showcasing the vocal range and lung power of the performer rather than focusing on the great nation we live in. You can tell how dreadful the rendition will be before "Oh say can you see" is completed. Roger Goodell says the National Anthem "is an important moment in our game." When I see a military band play the National Anthem at the super bowl I will believe it. Until then it's just a business decision.

damn...
just when i was contemplating calling the VA quack line to talk to one of their alleged nurses, and a possible trip to a real hospital ER, not the VA, it appears to be fading... almost 12 hours to the minute from onset of symptoms. first time i've sat down all night and NOT felt like i had a full bladder. and to think that Monday afternoon at the urologist's office, i was happy about how all that shit was w*rking... i see several long phone calls and visits in my near future. Morning. Almost two inches of rain since yesterday. After 2 months of zilch, the dust, pollen, bird crap etc is washed away.
The weather app said "Possible flooding" Ha! Most of the retention ponds are bone dry. The local rivers are low on their banks. No canyons here in No. Ill. I wonder where the flooding will be? Posted by: Bruce at October 11, 2017 05:46 AM (8ikIW) 766

Posted by: NaCly Dog Ha. Yeah I know the warnings cover a wide area and that it's a good idea to at least get you keeping an eye on things. I just thought it was funny on the flood warnings. We were having problems until the end of July, then it stopped raining here. Unless the retention ponds forget how to retain. Posted by: Bruce at October 11, 2017 05:58 AM (8ikIW) 769

I used to think AllenG was a bit too extreme for my tastes, but as the Left continues to get more extreme, I start to see that his way might be the only way.
What do you do with a house that's held up by termite carcasses and habit more than any remaining structural integrity? You burn it down, of course. And once it's burned down, you ask if it should be rebuilt. Get into a union with California? Again? When we have a chance not to? You'd have to be insane. How much did the casting couch have to do with the troubles of Monroe, Garland, Minelli, et al?
Posted by: davidt at October 10, 2017 10:35 PM (fA5ZF) There is a story that, when Monroe first signed with Twentieth Century-Fox, she went back to her apartment and told her roommate, "That's the last cock I'll ever have to suck!" But MM had her own troubles even without a casting couch. And that's it for me. It's going to be an absolutely awful day. Hope yours will be better. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon, survivor of GNAMM at October 11, 2017 01:42 AM (O848g) The last time I shopped at a Sears was the time I wandered around looking for the ladies' clothing section because I didn't get the huge DAMAS sign hanging from the ceiling. When I finally realized what that meant, I also realized that Sears was no longer interested in my business. Buh-bye. Posted by: Gem at October 11, 2017 06:40 AM (uaHyk) 782
I couldn't help noticing in Obamas statement about his friend Weinstien he didn't miss the opportunity to throw in some talking points about empowering our girls and teaching boys to have respect or not rape or something.
What an a**hole. He never misses an opportunity to lecture ignorant hateful Americans and show his PC cred. It is not about how we raise our kids, which would be a lot easier if it wasn't for the liberal cultural rot we are immersed in. It was about his friend and contributor Weinstein who is a poster child for that rot. Posted by: Ripley at October 11, 2017 06:47 AM (MxEKc) 783

But this time it will be different! Posted by: Communist I worked for a large international company with the same idea. They come up with some stupid plan. We told them we had tried it 10 years ago and it didn't work. We were looked upon as not being team players. But this time, we were told, the company is 100 percent behind it. Thick manuals and training would ensue. The company would finally realize how much money they were pissing away. Either stop the program or declared we had met our goal. Please warn us about NYT links. I'm on my first cup, and forgot to check where the Trump article went. Hate to waste one of the few like that.
Personally, I'm skeptical about the millennials article. It's typical of a sort of "debunking" style writers are fond of doing. Take a superficial glance, pick some items that seem to work as you want, and you're done. It's as bad as the forced parallel articles (our situation is just like 1830/1272/306, or whatever year you choose.) Posted by: George LeS at October 11, 2017 06:53 AM (+TcCF) 788

I am beginning to think that Oblameo is behind the Weinstein take out after decades of his fellow Dems looking the other way. I think B.O. wants CA senator Kamala Hairy Kamel to run in 2020 with no dem competition, so Shrill had to go, thus delete Weinstein. AND I think B.O. may of used his own daughter MallRat as a mole in the Weinstein company to get the verification. Yeah ok, probably not about MallRat, but B.O. ***************** Well that would be ironic as hell because Kamala Harris climbed the ladder in San Francisco by sleeping with the Mayor--Willie Brown who was almost 30 years older than her. (Willie Brown is now 83 years old, Kamala is 52.) Posted by: DRG at October 11, 2017 07:07 AM (qEhxI) 793
I really like Neil Diamond, but I'm kinda surprised that Neil's song You'll Be A Woman wasn't chosen given the Weinstein scandal. Still like all his the work but that particular song has gotten bad press for ihis lyrics. Although Neil was referring to his then girlfriend (soon to be 1st wife) that was in college at the time, so it's not pedo at all.
