Christian Adams: Trump Nominates Another Slate of Solid Conservative Judge to the Federal BenchPresident Trump has nominated a slate of solid picks for the federal bench, including a new list of nominees this week. Among them is Kurt D. Engelhardt. ... He is the judge who wrote a scathing 129-page order blistering the misconduct of lawyers at the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division and the local New Orleans U.S. Attorney's Office in a prosecution of New Orleans police officers. His order offers a look behind the curtain of some of the worst ideological misconduct that occurred at the Obama DOJ. Misconduct may be an inadequate word to describe the behavior of DOJ lawyers, and Engelhardt saw it all up close.See the article for links and details about that ideologically-motivated prosecutorial abuse. Engelhardt is nominated to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals -- which seems to be shaping up to be a damn fine appellate court. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Trump sometimes seems to give cause for justifiable concern, as if he were naive, or being kept in a bubble by Jarvanka or whoever his closest advisors are. The people he appoints, the people he lets go, the Obama holdovers he retains, etc.
But he has consistently appointed good judges, and for this to have happened, he had to have done some high quality research into the matter. >> A lot of medications work opposite on me, has something to do with the way my liver metabolizes things.
------------------ That can indeed be a problem. The liver has an excruciatingly complex system of enzymes that are responsible for metabolizing all sorts of compounds and drugs. Many drugs, and I forget the name of this class, depend on the liver metabolizing the primary molecule. The original drug itself does nothing, but it is what the liver changes them to that has the desired effect. If by the genetic luck of the draw, a person has a "weird" liver that metabolizes differently than the majority of the population, then drugs won't work right and can be dangerous. I remember something about trying to come up with a way to detect this beforehand. It would save a lot of trouble and even lives if you could discover than someone will have a unexpected reaction to a drug. Benadryl and valium are ok for occasional insomnia, but if it is a chronic thing you really need to see your doc. There are better medications, but you also need to find out if there is an organic cause. A sleep study wouldn't hurt, either.

First Trump's environmental policies cause natural disasters that kill Puerto Ricans, and he refuses to send them aid.
Then, he sends racist propaganda to children's libraries. Now he's trying to stack the courts with racist judges who are opposed to Civil Rights for minorities. And yet you people still support him? You people disgust me. Posted by: Jennifer Lawrence at September 29, 2017 04:39 PM (/qEW2) 282
btw, the Benadryl avenue is also cheap. I got a bottle of 100 tabs for about $10. OTC

Benzos (like Valium and Xanax) can do wonders short term, but they can be dangerous about becomming dependent. If you get dependent on them, you brain has changed in response to the drug, upregulating/downregulating receptors, and when you take the drug away, you go into high anxiety mode. And it can even trigger seizures. Benzos replaced the old barbiturates, which were highly addictive and abused. But benzos themselves can be pretty bad. There was woman whose doc gave her Xanax -- "stage fright" thing for some brief thing she had to do and was nervous . She was very sensitive and got hooked quickly. Trying to go off, she started having panic attacks, and was in a mess. Posted by: publius, the Persistent Poperin Pear at September 29, 2017 04:41 PM (8O3HH) 290

I tossed the keys to the time machine into the time vortex. You may see a time-phantom of me later as a result. Do not panic, I kept the timeline from suffering a catastrophic reaction. Mostly.
