NFL Ticket Sales Drop 17.9% In Week Three

This must be because those Trump Cultists worship their false god the flag, even though it was pretty conventional conservative thought to revere the flag before the #NeverTrumpers decided to start dropping the masks and reveal they always agreed with the transnational progressives that pride in country is just an unacknowledged specie of #Racism.

The online ticket reseller TickPick told Secrets that sales have dropped 17.9 percent, far more than the usual Week Three fall.

From TickPick:

* 17.9 percent decrease in NFL orders this week compared to the previous week.

*Last year the drop was 10.8 percent in orders on Monday & Tuesday following Week Three games.

"We have seen a massive decrease in NFL ticket purchases this past week in comparison to years past. Week 3 seems to usually have less ticket orders than week 2, but this year ticket purchases are down more than 7 percent from this time last year," said TickPick's Jack Slingland.

By the way, personally, I don't really care about the flag protests. This is all opportunistic piling on for me. I want to destroy the media, every fucking bastion of it, and I don't care which shows or sports leagues we lose.

I want them gone.

No More Kings.

33 I posted this earlier today but still relevant:

Not to beat a dead horse, but thee NFL isn't dead yet, so:

I am a lifelong GB Packer fan, 35+ years. Cousin was a cheerleader. Distant cousin played for them in the woeful 1980's.

I called their fan line in Green Bay this morning to tell them I am done with them, and the NFL, short of an explicit apology to the fans. Except, their voicemail box is full and has been shut down. I am sure it is because all the brat-eating, beer swilling salt of the earth types have deluged them with phone calls showing their support for BLM.

Also, my very rich uncle who lives in Milwaukee that no one likes because he likes to remind everyone how rich and successful he is, is selling his GB season tickets because he is disgusted with the team and the league. I cannot tell you how shocking that is, both because of the cultural relevance in Wisconsin, and because of the status that owning those seats brings him.

Bold prediction: everyone tunes in tonight to see what the fans do, and then tune out the game. Tomorrow it is spun as "Thursday Night Football Record Audience! SUCK IT RACISTS!!!" In reality, this will be the last stand of the NFL, and they will begin to fade to MLB status.

If I went to someone's house, and they asked me to bow my head in prayer, I would. Does that mean I endorse their religion? Nope - I'm just not an asshole at someone else's expense.

So it is NOT about disrespecting the flag, it is NOT about free speech, it is about disrespecting the fans who do stand.

99 Badfinger was kinda like Aerosmith - a second tier band with a few good songs that you only listened to if nothing really good was on (like Zep or the Who)

Aerosmith was awesome in the early years. Hard, raw rock with no big overproduced parade floats. Their later stuff tended to be a little theatrical sometimes but still included some very infectious riffs. All in all, they've had an incredible multi-decade run.

152 Rush had a great monologue about the NFL today he said the leftists have been gunning to take out the NFL for years they've done it slowly with concussions, pink, and a variety of other political causes. Then they decided to finish it off by doing something to completely piss off the fan base. So they found a dumb player who they could convince should do some kind of political grandstanding and you had Collin Kaepernick step into the role. They found something that they could get other players to latch onto and there you have it. The leftists couldn't be more pleased that fans are leaving the NFL in droves. This is exactly what they wanted and the dumb NFL administration didn't see it coming and now can't stop it.

Of the 12 games between teams that stood for the anthem against teams that knelt, the team that stood won 11. That's a heck of a scoreboard.

Apparently the team owners are willing to give up ticket sales, TV viewership, and corporate goodwill. But are they willing to lose?

Surely this must be a fable, right? No one could possibly be that stupid. The repetitive pattern serves some didactic purpose. Maybe it indicates a lack of imagination on the part of the storyteller. But it can't possibly be true, because no one could be that stupid in real life. Maybe Roger Goodell really is some kind of incarnation of Ramses II.

191 I'm a husband who does all the cooking, when cooking is done.

Reason? I like to cook, I'm good at it, and I'm kind of picky about liking what I eat.

My wife doesn't like cooking, consequently she isn't very good at it, and when she does do it to prove she can, it just comes out tasting weird, at least to me. And it's always awkward to have to choke something down while pretending its just great.

Me, I like to go to nice restaurants, order their signature dish once, memorize the flavors and then go home and make it.

I suspect most of us morons (and the general public) are inclined to think that the players were unaware of that. But, given how things are marketed (and Memo'ed) what IF the players intentionally chose that day.

Granted, that would be difficult to prove, but I've noticed a serious lack of follow-up by the MSM... questions like: who coordinated and planned this stunt? Who, outside the NFL (if any), advised the players? AND, did the players intentionally choose that NFL event day?

IDK about it being a tipping point.

Antifa etc has big, big plans for November 4th.

If you're in a blue city and feel so inclined, it would be useful to find out if you have anti-mask laws (many cities do, some do not) and if your mayor/ police chief intends on upholding the anti-mask laws.

A good way to do this is to involve your local conservative radio. IF you have these laws, call in an ask the host to find out how they will respond to Antifa in your city. And if they do not enforce the laws and they have said so in public, well, that's another can of worms entirely.

Not quite. He offers concessions and compromises, which are rejected. IIRC, Moses and Aaron initially ask for something rather less than total freedom for the Hebrews and gradually work their way towards the real goal, IIRC.

Also, Pharaoh also had a rep as a god to maintain and doubtless advisors who disagreed with each other - it isn't to surprising that he vacillated and wanted to dicker when he wasn't being actively clobbered.

Also, Pharaoh also had a rep as a god to maintain and doubtless advisors who disagreed with each other - it isn't to surprising that he vacillated and wanted to dicker when he wasn't being actively clobbered.
Posted by: Grey Fox at September 28, 2017 08:27 PM (bZ7mE)

Not to mention God hardening Pharaoh's heart. There's some bizarre divine intervention there to make him go hardcore after the Jews. That one scene stands behind a lot of Calvinism.

276 While I don't doubt there are some horrible leftists that prowl the hallways of the NHL offices in Toronto and New York, and the hockey media is a jumble of wanna be Pravda and Izvestiya writers, Gary Bettman the commissioner of the NHL did issue a mealy-mouthed statement that the game was not the proper place for political statements.

Unlike the NFL which thinks that the Golden Goose will continue to produce those wonderful golden eggs long after the last spoonful of goose stew is consumed, the NHL understands that its actual lifeline is butts in the seats. Sure the league has plenty of anti-Trump zealots, but I don't think it is as high a percentage as seen in football and basketball.

But my favorite hockey headlines

PK Subban says he will never protest the anthem.

PK is a Haitian national who emigrated to Canada with his family and is one of the most exciting players in the game. His two younger brothers are both hockey players, just not in the NHL yet.

Ryan Reaves says he won't visit the White House.

Ryan Reaves is a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, but was not a member when they won the Stanley Cup this past season, he was a member of the St Louis Blues. He isn't a champion and it makes no sense to take part in the championship visits to the President or the Prime Minister of Canada.

Coach Tortarella will bench anybody who doesn't stand for the anthem.

John Tortarella the fiery coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets said if a member of his team sat during the National Anthem, they might as well get comfortable, because they will stay there the entire game. Tortarella's son is a US Army Ranger.

Please NHL, don't screw this up, my Dallas Stars should be awesome, I want to enjoy this season. My Minnesota Vikings are primed to be a very special team, damn shame I am not prepared to watch anymore football even if the Vikings were to be the first team to actually play the Superbowl in their own stadium.

And to the baseball fans, in 1991 my Twins went from the worst team in the American League in 1990 to World Series Champs in 1991. Last year the Twins were the worst team in baseball, this year, they are in the playoffs. Watch out.

But we've got to come together and talk about these things and grow as a community, as a connected group of individuals in our society, and we're going to continue to show love and unity, and this week we're going to ask the fans to join in as well and come together and show people that we can be connected and we can grow together."

337 What we are seeing is a preference cascade.

In short, average people behave the way they think they ought to, even though that behavior might not reflect their own personal feelings. Given a sufficient "A-HA!" moment when they discover that their personal feelings are shared by a large portion of the population their behavior may change dramatically.

Sorta fits here. Also today, the WSJ reported that the Kellogg CEO of 7 years is stepping down. hmm, that Breitbart ad removal maneuver Kellogg pulled several months back is still having a recoil effect. I'm still buycotting them.

Flake drew an A-list DEM opponent in AZ today, named Sienna. She leads Flake by 7 points already, in 2 different polls. I don't think Flake will run for reelection.

GOP has BETTER chances right now in FL & WI, surprisingly, than they do of holding AZ. Which is a good thing, because Heller (R) goes down in NV, I suspect.

You're all basically liberal Democrats who have some minor impulse towards some conservativish position on one or two issues (but not such a strong impulse as you'd actually risk a single Congressional seat by nominating someone who actually takes a strong conservative position on that issue.

Yeah. Sadly, yeah. That's what it comes down to. Because they are so afraid of losing elections they are willing to lose every other battle to avoid it.

The owner of the Jaguars, Shithead Khan said that last Sunday was the NFL's Rosa Parks moment. Talk about insane

That is just unbelievably insulting to actual black activists who suffered in Jim Crow years. Incredible someone would have the gall to even think that, let alone say it in public.

525 Tragic story of child abuse.

East Rutherford, NJ (AP) -A seven-year old boy was at the center of a New Jersey courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the New York Giants, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

It was some time after the planes hit the buildings before the steel structure actually melted and collapsed.

I think NFL thought that will all of last year and the beginning of this year that they had withstood the hits they would take. So they got even cockier. While actually the steel has been melting non-stop.

Stand back for the collapse. It's coming.

591 You know, most white folk are aware that a large percentage of black folks don't like them, think that white people are racists and think they are always being victimized somehow by white people.

And no matter how much is done to eliminate discrimination in society, the race hustlers who make money off the racism fantasy will keep the meme up in the black community, in schools, in any place they possibly can. Including places that are majority white, such as suburban schools, universities, employers, etc. This philosophy is steeped in the black community. They are marinated in it from the time they are born until they die.

What the NFL race baiting has done is caused the white members of the US society to finally say, no matter what we do to not allow racism to affect black lives, its never enough. And we aren't going to continue to allow our lives to be ruled by this fake meme anymore.

All this virtue signaling by Rodgers and other white players is because they haven't gotten to the point where they are going to stop feeling guilty for something they are accused of doing on a daily basis by their black teammates, even if it is very subtle, that in reality they arent' doing.

But just like the blacks being convinced they are victims 24/7 of racism, many whites are convinced now they are racists for which they must atone.

I refuse to take on that mantle. As are a lot of other people, especially NFL fans. Until players just frickin play the game as a player and stop all this boo hoo victim shit, I'm not watching it anymore.

618 One of my problems with the Bible is with stories such as the Exodus. The Pharaoh is confronted with a plague, and then the relents, but then he changes his mind, and he is confronted by another plague, and then he relents, but then he changes his mind.

Posted by: Steve and Cold Bear at September 28, 2017 08:15 PM (/qEW2)

That's not how the story goes. He doesn't give in through the whole panoply of plagues, until the final plague - the one that he, himself, declared. Only then does he tell Moses to take his people and go. He then changes his mind after the Israelites have left Egypt and decides that he wants them back as slaves. Part of that change of mind had to do with the Israelites raiding some villages on the way out and leaving in a prideful manner. .... Sucks to be Egyptian.

634 "This is about equality," Rodgers said Tuesday, via ESPN.com. "This is about unity and love and growing together as a society and starting a conversation...etc., etc."

Bull.

This unity crap coming from Rodgers, JJ Watt, and all the others is only about TEAM UNITY, meaning not hurting the chances for making the playoffs (meaning glory, plus more money (playoff game checks plus any contract bonus payouts)), and not hurting the chances for each player having a good personal performance year for leverage in future contract negotiations. Chances for playoffs and a blockbuster stats year are seriously decreased if the locker room is split into black/white/patriot/Antifa factions.

The owners and coaches want TEAM UNITY for their own selfish reasons.

Respecting the US Flag and the National Anthem, that represent ideas and beliefs and actions and A People United: Pretty far down on the list of priorities of almost every NFL owner, coach, and player.

Frank Clark U/M player, was arrested for felony B &E over a incident his sophomore year in which he stole a laptop. He pled guilty, and then through the Youthful Offender Act in Michigan, was allowed back on the football team as long as he met certain criteria. His felony was expunged. Then before his senior year, he was arrested in Ohio at a hotel when he got into a physical fight with his girlfriend, having one of his nephews run down the hallway screaming Frank is killing our sister.

He spent three days in jail, was dismissed from U/M team, then went though a plea bargain situation in which girlfriend asked for charges to be reduced to...disorderly conduct, which he pled guilty.

The Seahawks drafted him. You know, the NFL that constantly decries domestic violence with PSAs.

He's playing currently.

A rare error for you, Grammie. Luther started to translate the Vulgate, then he compared it to the existing Greek and Hebrew texts he had, and decided that the Latin Vulgate was a pile of badly translated crap, so he notably went back to the original languages.

It's why Luther's translation is still considered to be one of the most definitive translations ever done - he had a real skill at languages.

698 not NFL related:

not sure how to post links on here, but look what the dems have just done in California. they just moved their state's presidential primary up to march 2020.

why? obviously the establishment of the Democrat Party is already plotting to clear the field for Friend Of Obama Kamala Harris, the left-wing female mixed-race Senator from the People's Republic Of California.

Just like Obama, she has practically no record to attack, and she's "diverse" so therefore any criticism of her will be denounced by the media as both sexist and racist. she's a two-fer.

it is vitally important that she not become the next president. she would be Obama times ten. she's pretty much an open SJW, whereas Obama was a closeted SJW (at least until he won reelection).

movement conservatives need to start digging up dirt on her and spreading it to "normies" ASAP. we need to define her as a left-wing lunatic early, before the MSM propaganda campaign on her behalf starts in earnest a year or so from now.

this is serious. screen-cap this comment. this isn't a joke. unless we act to discredit her now, this woman will be the next president of the united states, and we will be living under the tyranny of the SJWs in a little more than three years.

Posted by: logprof at September 28, 2017 09:40 PM (GsAUU)

702 I don't quite believe the Passover story either.

Pretty much all of the historical accounts in the Old Testament have been borne out by archaeological data. Sometimes time frames are a little off but the Old Testament has a pretty sterling record on those events that we have been able to verify.

It used to be that the only account of the Hittites was in the Old Testament and "educated" people just assumed that it was made up tales about an ancient empire ... until the archaeology started coming in and they found the city of Hattusha. For thousands of years the Hittite Empire had been forgotten to all, except for its appearance in the Old Testament.

I certainly buy the Exodus story. It's illegal to do any archaeology in Egypt that might prove anything about Jews having been there (the Egyptians are quick to shut down anything that even smells of this) but they have found coins with references to Joseph's father (as the father of Joseph). People used to believe that the Jews in Egypt were the Hyksos, but that fell out of favor because of timelines. Thing is that the hyksos in Egypt line up pretty well with the eruption of Santorini, which some like to say is what caused the plagues ...

Anyway, I take the Exodus story as historical.

Gen 20: Sarah is old and pregnant. Why is Abraham doing the "She is my sister" thing again? Why is Abimech interested in her?

Gen 22: "your only son" Is Ishmael dead?

Gen 26 Isaac at Gerar. Like father like son? Isaac became rich. But wasn't Abraham already quite well off?

758 Watching Newt on Hannity....he's talking about how much easier the proposed tax plan is. I think that's a weak argument. Most people already have an easy tax return. For W2 employees, it's fairly straight forward and takes very little time on TurboTax.

For people who have complex returns now, they won't be any less complex with the new plan. You'll still need all the schedules for investments, rental income, etc.

Focus on how much money you will get. That's what sells, not saving 10 minutes once a year.

So why do you need to get back to me on it, if you just read it? Puzzling.

"Horribly redundant.

Here is my list:

"Gen 12: Abram in Egypt. For a guy that supposedly has faith in God, why is he worried about being killed?

"Gen 20: Sarah is old and pregnant. Why is Abraham doing the "She is my sister" thing again? Why is Abimech interested in her?"

Gen 22: "your only son" Is Ishmael dead?

Gen 26 Isaac at Gerar. Like father like son? Isaac became rich. But wasn't Abraham already quite well off?

Ex: I guess old Pharoah didn't get "free will."

Ex 30:13 "reckoning by the sanctuary-shekel..."

- - -

You just read the book, you said, so why you asking me?

Did you have this list of objections on hand, ready to go?

If you can pull off that trick, then you can know everything that's going to happen without having to cause it to happen at all. The people stuck in that time line will never be able to figure it out, though.

Posted by: All That Glitters at September 28, 2017 10:02 PM (TgqlD)

791 The old argument about the nonexistence of free will...if God already foreknows exactly and exhaustively what people will or won't do, then the future (from our POV) is immutable because God cannot be in error about what He foresees. That would mean free will is in fact an illusion and all fates are sealed. We may appear to choose this or that but in reality, nothing we do, or don't do, matters. It's all settled already, aka fatalism. While never called that, this is a foundation stone of Reformed theology, Calvinism in particular.

An alternative is the unsettled or open view: God foreknows what He has ordained will come to pass, and it WILL do so, but not even He foreknows what men will choose to do because those choices do not yet exist; so He does not know with certainty what men may do with the truly free will and power of choice He has given them.

This view is problematic in spots (as is the usual Reformed view) but it does address a conundrum...if all is indeed exhaustively foreknown by God, then why would He get angry, or rejoice, depending on what people choose to do? He already knew what was going to happen down to the atomic level. His emotional responses, then, would seem less than genuine...and yet God cannot lie, the Bible assures us (and this I do believe 100%).

Not picking sides here, just pointing out the debate as a hopefully interesting sidebar.

Posted by: JAS at September 28, 2017 10:02 PM (UnDQI)

Off the top of my head, that was part of the rules for where the Ark of the Covenant resided. At the time of the Exodus, it was in a tent, I believe, but there were instructions given to construct a sanctuary for it. This starts out in Exodus 25:8 -

8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

9 According to all that I show thee, the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the furniture thereof, even so shall ye make it.

The instructions then get very specific. There are also laws about offerings and fees for things. You'll have to find those yourself.

But there is no reference to the actual Temples in the Five Books, just to how the sanctuary for the Ark must be made and who would run things and who would help and what "taxes" would be collected ...

807 Willow,

I need to sack out too, don't know if you'll see this.

I'm a pretty simple man. All I know is, there are two classes of humanity in the eyes of God: those who are in Christ - saved - and those who are still counted as in Adam - lost. That's how the apostle Paul broke it down. All mankind, everyone reading this, have been reconciled to God by the cross, but God still expects and deserves faith in Christ's death, burial and resurrection for our sin and justification. Today, under grace, that's all that He asks of us. That's the only way - the ONLY way - one gets from Adam to Christ.

Paul condensed it in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. If someone knows that and believe it for himself/herself, he/she is saved now and forever in Christ. And really, that's all anyone NEEDS to know. Nothing else apart from that really matters, with eternity in view.

Good night to you.
