This is a nice outcome, but I'm guessing it will be unlikely that Ranco will suffer much. He'll probably be picked up by a progressive-oriented law firm and it will be all 'hail fellow well met' and 'attaboy'. I think many of you

So for power, cell and Internet/cable I have settled on the following grades:
Duke Energy: A+. They had power back up in my area in under 12 hours and are sending out regular updates for approximate time to repair completion for other areas in the state. Fine job all the way around. AT&T: C+. Service was out then intermittent for well over 24 hours in an area that wasn't hit all that hard. However, data and voice are now up and stable. Spectrum/Charter/BrightHouse: F-. Cable and Internet are still out. No updates are being provided, their customer service number has been limited to an unhelpful recorded message that cuts off with no options given, and their customer website won't let you log in. Because modern-day leftists have realized that sex is the opiate of the masses and they are using it to their advantage and winning.
I'm not sure they've even thought it through that far. I think its just a natural consequence of demolishing every basic standard of behavior and ethics that civilization was founded on and offering nothing in return but an ever-changing series of often contradictory dicta from elites. Without what makes us civilized, we revert to savages and become more animalistic. Strip away the rules and structures of civilization and what are you left with? Strip away all taboos and order and this is what you get. its an inevitable result of eliminating absolutes: when there's no objective, absolute authority on behavior, truth, or beauty, then all that's left is what I can get for me, when I can get it. And without anything to live for except for yourself, that next orgasm is all that helps you forget the emptiness and meaninglessness of your life. For a few moments you feel bliss and not hopelessness and the yawning chasm of how your life has no purpose or meaning. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at September 13, 2017 12:11 PM (39g3+) 243

Well the "co equal" thing (besides the bad English of it) has never been true or made sense anyway. The branches have distinctive functions, which is unavoidable and logical (or they'd be the same branch). The judiciary is obviously the junior, most circumscribed, most limited branch of them, not in any way equal.
Even the extremely dubious non-constitutional expedient of judicial review would not be, in itself, fatal, if the humans involved (the judges violating their oaths, the executive and legislative members not correcting/stopping this) policed the arrangement. But ..... well, you know the situation. Posted by: rhomboid at September 13, 2017 12:31 PM (QDnY+) 354

There was a segment on The Man Show in days of yore where they were out in public collecting signatures from women to end women's sufferage. Lots of signatories. Best part was when a woman happened along and started pleading with women not to sign and trying to explain how the signature collectors were mocking them. Good times.

BYU has separate dorm buildings for men and women. Men and women can visit opposite sex dorms once a week for a few hours, but must keep the door open and the RA prowls around. BYU gets sued pretty much every single year for this practice by groups trying to force them to integrate dorms. They are so far successful at arguing they are a private institution that can make their own rules about such things. Posted by: bonhomme at September 13, 2017 12:53 PM (jhqr1) 454

I'm not wishing for it but I'd be ok if Ron Ranco were to be unable to find another job in his profession. Okay, I am wishing for it.

From Ranco's (former) bio:
"The [1] quick witted, [2] Ivy League educated lawyer with [3] an easy going attitude and [4] an appreciate for the arts [...]" [1] Nope. Ha. [2] Glad that's paying off, or confirming assumptions. Clearly does not universally correlate with intelligence or future success regardless. [3] Nope. Ouch. [4] That is believable, although I'm sure his definition of "art" is stuff like Andres Serrano or Burning Man art for which bath salts are a prereq for appreciation.
