Trump Promises "Fire and Fury" for Mitch McConnell

Okay, he didn't go that far, but he's escalating his public criticisms of the guy who apparently thinks his main job is to protect the most liberal member of his caucus from any votes that might get them primaried by a genuine conservative.

Trump was asked further about these tweets today, and while his tone wasn't Full Trump, he did suggest that it would be time for McConnell to "step aside" if he couldn't deliver on major legislative items.

In brief remarks to reporters, Mr. Trump said the failure of Congress to advance a health-care bill is a "disgrace" and the president refused to answer a question about whether Mr. McConnell of Kentucky should step down as leader in the Senate.

"If he doesn't get repeal and replace done, if he doesn't get taxes done, meaning cuts and reform, and if he doesn't get a very easy one to get done -- infrastructure -- if he doesn't get that done, then you should ask me that question," Mr. Trump said about Mr. McConnell.

4 Look at the legislative calendar for the Senate.

It's pretty fair to ask, "What is the point of you?"

An honorable man would resign from leadership. Naturally, they'll all be staying... except for when vacationing.

5 McConnell' "he doesn't understand the system" comment is what put most people on Trumps side- we just don't understand how McCain and Merkowski can go back in their express promises to the voters and face no consequences from the Senate leader.

7 my rationale for comment 1 that I posted on previous thread:

175 Boyfriend made it a point to relate PDT's remarks today about the norks, about the turtle, etc. etc.

He was impressed. The reason I mention this is that BF is the weathervane. I gauge the zeitgeist from his feedback about political events. So no matter what Gaslight Media tries to tell you, the man on the street is OK with this president.

BF was all about Obama in 2008. 2012, not so much. But last year out of the blue in the springtime he asked: "So are we going to vote for Trump?" I wasn't even thinking about politics let alone voting. That's why I call him Zeitgeist Boy.

Sixteen hours ago an American airplane dropped one bomb on Hiroshima, an important Japanese Army base. That bomb had more power than 20,000 tons of TNT. It had more than 2000 times the blast.

It is an atomic bomb. It is harnessing of the basic power of the universe. The force from which the Sun draws its power has been loosed against those who brought war to the Far East.

It was to spare the Japanese people from utter destruction that the ultimatum of July 26 was issued at Potsdam. Their leaders promptly rejected that ultimatum.

If they do not now accept accept our terms they may accept a rain of ruin from the air, the like of which has never been seen before on this earth.

189 McConnell blocked Garland because those were his ORDERS from obama and Schemer.

McConnell was ordered to "play" the leader of the Party of No to make the Republican Shits look bad for hillary clinton and to help Democrats win the Senate for her.

That's why Garland was blocked. It was a farce.

No, he blocked Garland because he thought it was an easy win. He expected Hillary to be elected and hoped to win some goodwill from the right to balance out the shit he'd take when he rolled over for her nominee.

Apparently the one thing they think they can get done is gavel in enough times during their recess that it will keep Trump from making recess appointments. Turtledick should have to explain why the hell he did not recess the Senate.
