Andy McCarthy: If You Think the Imran Awan Investigation Is About Bank Fraud, You're Wrong.
It's About Islamophobia.

Just kidding. Andy McCarthy does mention "Islamophobia," but only to mock Democrat defenders of the Awan clan (why do these shabby swindlers have so many Democrat defenders?) going immediately to the "Islamophobia" card to trump genuine questions about why this very sketchy group of foreign swindlers was granted root access to Democrat secured networks, and paid such enormous amounts of money on top of that.

There's too much great stuff here to properly excerpt, but here's a few bits and bobs.

This is not about bank fraud. The Awan family swindles are plentiful, but they are just window-dressing. This appears to be a real conspiracy, aimed at undermining American national security.

At the time of his arrest, the 37-year-old Imran Awan had been working for Democrats as an information technologist for 13 years. He started out with Representative Gregory Meeks (D., N.Y.) in 2004. The next year, he landed on the staff of Wasserman Schultz, who had just been elected to the House.

Congressional-staff salaries are modest, in the $40,000 range. For some reason, Awan was paid about four times as much. He also managed to get his wife, Alvi, on the House payroll . . . then his brother, Abid Awan . . . then Abid’s wife, Natalia Sova. The youngest of the clan, Awan’s brother Jamal, came on board in 2014 -- the then-20-year-old commanding an annual salary of $160,000.

A few of these arrangements appear to have been sinecures: While some Awans were rarely seen around the office, we now know they were engaged in extensive financial shenanigans away from the Capitol.

Nevertheless, the Daily Caller’s Luke Rosiak, who has been all over this story, reports that, for their IT "work," the Pakistani family has reeled in $4 million from U.S. taxpayers since 2009. That’s just the "legit" dough. T

he family business evidently dabbles in procurement fraud, too. The Capitol Police and FBI are exploring widespread double-billing for computers, other communication devices, and related equipment. Why were they paid so much for doing so little?

Intriguing as it is, that’s a side issue. A more pressing question is: Why were they given access to highly sensitive government information?

I can't quote the rest, but he then starts digging into the specifics of how much access to national security information this crew was granted, the swindles they conducted on the side (with Democrats not too fussed about it, I guess), and Democrats' bizarre loyalty to them -- the wife that fled to Pakistan was only fired by Greg Meeks five days before getting out of dodge, and Imran was on Debbie Wasserman-Schultz' payroll until after the FBI arrested his ass at Dulles International airport.

Will every firm now be required to have Ghost Muslim Employees that make six figures?

Or is that just a requrement for government offials who deal with top secret information?

I'm sure there are some wacko-birds where that is fitting. I'm pretty sure I'm not one of them.

57 My theory is that the Dems wanted IT folks who would not ask questions or talk to the Feds, because they've been engaging in massive money laundering schemes over the years to bring in foreign cash and distribute it to politicians, staff, and activists. Basically everything that the Clintons did was copied by their supporters and underlings throughout the DNC. The Awans then used their access to start selling off information and blackmailed the DWS and others. Perhaps even convinced them to launder money for other groups as well.

66 There is a theory in neuroscience that most "phobias" -- and btw, "phobia" in its modern sense as first used by Austrian psychologists at the end of the 19th century has long been mistranslated as "fear" but in reality was meant to mean "loathing" or "disgust" in most instances -- are NOT cultural constructs but are instead deeply ingrained genetic responses to things which are perceived as dangerous to one's well-being. Humans have a "phobia" of rotten food and poisonous insects, and we don't have to be TRAINED to be that way -- we are essentially born with this phobia.

I agree with this theory. Especially when it comes to "Islamo"phobia. Hell yeah, I have that reaction -- revulsion, disgust, loathing. It is the natural reaction of normal people One has to be trained OUT of such a reaction. People who don't have Islamophobia are the crazy ones.

94 My theory is that the Dems wanted IT folks who would not ask questions or talk to the Feds, because they've been engaging in massive money laundering schemes over the years to bring in foreign cash and distribute it to politicians, staff, and activists. Basically everything that the Clintons did was copied by their supporters and underlings throughout the DNC. The Awans then used their access to start selling off information and blackmailed the DWS and others. Perhaps even convinced them to launder money for other groups as well. Seth Rich was only identified as a problem to the Dem leadership. So Podesta of "wet works" fame likely knew him but I don't think many leftwing lackeys did.

Not least in how they are reported to have coached Debbie Washerwoman-Putz in how to use a vocoder device to disguise her voice on the phone. But apparently did not further instruct her in how to spoof her originating phone number.

So Lil' Debbie, from her own office phone, rang up the law firm which is suing the DNC, a suit to which she is a party, and started questioning the attorneys there in her weird, obviously altered voice, and they immediately twigged to who it was that was calling them.

157 And! He was going to remain on DWShitz payroll even living in Paki. He had a really good thing going, considering he was non-vetted, hired his wife, his bro, his SIL to pretend IT work. Making almost $5 million over a decade of peering into the emails and data of nearly 80 Dims. No problem! Give him you password! He is trusted.

Right.

His brother was hired to this, uh, collection of IT thugs shortly after being fired from McDonald's. I am NOT kidding. That was his resume. I forget which of the brothers had DUI's and stuff. Now, one would ass-ume this would prohibit you working in Congress, no? The wimmen never did squat but collected a paycheck from various Dims. But do not say anything bad or you will be phobic! DWS has some 'splainin' to do, no? NO?

This innocent IT guy, who went bankrupt, but was somehow??? given a $200k loan just before his near escape. Two lies he told: one, for a funeral (?), the second for a house. Meanwhile, he was attempting to liquidate every asset he could.

Fortunately for this country he rented his home to a Marine, who found all sorts of goodies: computers, attempts to destroy hard drives (do Republicans do this, or is it some type of Dim hobby?). Hallelujah! He tried to get the stuff four times but the hero Marine told him hell no (I don't know what he said. I hope he got a punch or two in, or some type of torture, but that is just me).

It gets worse. I read this article but also read others so the info is clogged in brain. He and his bro somehow bought homes in DC area. Some relatives report from an insurance plan in the former country from a car accident. I forget who died. They then owned a car dealership that surprisingly went bankrupt as they probably money-laundered somewhere. A former doctor from Iraq, born in Iran, loaned them $100k. Oddly the former doc had lost license in US after fraud for Medicare, Medicaid and, well, sexually assaulting former patients. No biggie! I think this doc also had Hazbullah (sp, don't care) ties to add a cherry on top.

The wife and kiddies fled country earlier, packing a cool $10k or so in suitcase (which everyone does...it is legal to bring $10k out of country, but not $12k like stupido tried to do). I guess they got the money from bilking their stepMother from her share of their Dad's life insurance in January. I think for $45k. MIL called police, could not speak English, that she was not being allowed to see dying Dad (who had supposedly changed name as so shamed by sons). She was also being spied upon in house and phone. Called someone in homeland via burner phone and then called the police. Now, Morons, keep in mind who was in charge of the FB of Matters in January and Feb of this year. That is sort of key, I think, but what do I know?

I am exhausted typing all this crap.

Bottom line: 80 or so Dims, at varous times in the past decade, their committee notes, their emails, all of it, were possibly compromised or are in the great cloud. Most dropped this guy like a hot potato in Feb, but not Snaggle Tooth. Nope! She kept him on as "council."

This poor bedraggled IT guy, who was only trying to make a living for his family in Paki, now has an attorney deeply imbedded with Bill and the Hag. But I see no problem with this. hic!

170 The Awans seem to have had terrible intelligence tradecraft.

Not least in how they are reported to have coached Debbie Washerwoman-Putz in how to use a vocoder device to disguise her voice on the phone. But apparently did not further instruct her in how to spoof her originating phone number.
---

In their defense, they could have told her to dial around, but she forgot.

Realistically, they've been scamming the Democrats for what, a decade? They've done a good job until now, so really this might be on DWS.

171 An article I read this morning said that Awan
(posing as his wife -- how hard was it for the agent to distinguish a
man's voice from a woman's on the phone?) then got on Google to search
acceptable excuses for wiring large sums of cash. He was doing this
while on the phone with the transfer agent. "You don't believe I need
to transfer $283k for a funeral in Pakistan? OK, hang on while I google
a better excuse. Hold on . . . . would you believe, I'm going to
purchase some property? You do? Great then, that's my reason."

Posted by: TrivialPursuer at July 31, 2017 04:55 PM (gNgc6)

The article I read said the agent KNEW he was imitating his wife....and still the agent let the transaction go through.

Nope, you're not the only one.

My off-the-wall theory: Comey knew about this, due to the FBI investigation, but believed that if it came out prior to the election there would be chaos. Accusing a presidential candidate and her entire party of being a criminal conspiracy would have likely resulted in violence in the streets. Hence why he announced that she was guilty of mishandling classified info, but didn't recommend prosecution: he wanted to wound her just enough to protect himself and the FBI, but not enough to make himself a target.

So. The FBI should have been on top of all the foreign national contact stuff, the financial stuff (which is a huge deal in security clearances), and all the rest of it.

We have now crossed the Rubion.

If you wrote a piece of fiction with the premise of "Congresswoman hires foreign IT people at 4X their going rate for work that is not done, and then convinces her colleagues to do the same" no one would buy it, since it's not believable.

Now... add in something like "blackmail" and sprinkle in "money laundering" and "espionage" and you've to something.

However, the basic premise is still not believable. Even though it is true.

Nail the Dems to the wall on this even if it means taking out a bunch of Republicans in the process.

430 It has occurred to me that perhaps Trump, Sessions, et al ARE pushing all of this and that is why we are now finding out about things that have been going on in the shadows literally for years

Just because someone hasn't had a press conference laying out the scandals doesn't mean they aren't behind the scenes pushing the wagon.

Maybe this all has to drip out bit by bit to give the folks time to come to grips with the whole sordid mess.

448 All conjecture. And, that Judge Napolitano guy is the worst of the bunch. He drops his bomb shells and they never amount to squat.

Bottom line is we will never know the extent of the damage, the motive, or all the players. The media will ignore, the democrats will obfuscate and protect their own. Then they will point fingers and scream isms and phobes.

The only silver lining is that this elephant in the room as well as Fusion GPS possibilities shut the press up about RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA. Now they will do a full 180 turn and start telling us that Putin is playing Trump like a cheap violin because Putin is formidable and Trump is a dummy.

451 Snaggle Tooth wakes from a restless night and one hour of sleep, in spite of tranqs and tequila. For one nanosecond she thinks all is well, then remembers her dear Anwanny. Sobs into her greasy pillow, leaving tracks of snot and eye liner and mascara she has had on since Thursday. At this point the bags under her eyes resemble baby bats hanging from her protruding eye balls.

She rises from her stinky bed to go pee. She is wearing a Grateful Dead ragged tee shirt, that is symbolic of her "leadership." She passes the mirror and, for a moment, reels in horror at the sight, nearly shrieking, then realizes it is her. Not that we want to know this, but she is going commando under the tee shirt to save laundry and also psycho in her filth.

Checks calendar and sees she is one day from her monthly hair washing. Her curly tresses remain starchily in place, a hair do held in place by 29 days of human grease. Deb don't care, y'all.

She thinks briefly of brushing snaggle teeth and then thinks, "At this point, what difference does it make?"

An aide, alerted by an ambulatory alarm in her bed when she left it, rushes into room, gags at the smell: a mixture of rotting potatoes and kosher dill pickles. "Can I get you anything? Help with shower? We are trying to talk to Anwanny and can't get through. We know things are, um, bugged, ya know?"

Snaggle Tooth roars with anger at the intrusion. Aide adds her own incontinent urine to the puddles and flees, whimpering, and slams door. The click of a lock is the only noise.

Snaggles paces room, giving off little puffs of putrid clouds, like Pigpen in Charlie Brown's cartoon. She is beyond screeching like the hag, as she is mute with fear and knowledge. Her crooked teeth, mossy, with chapped lips, are chattering in Morse Code. Rigid, bone and molar cracking full on freak out. Any moment, she knows, she could be arrested or done gone suicide by another.

All her secrets laid bare in those emails, in the file named "Memo to Debs" featuring her in, um, compromising issues. The DNC files, the emails, Weinerman's emails. All of it. ALL OF IT!

Lawdy.

Finally the pills and tequila hit. She flops backwards into her rancid bed til the next time, peeps. It is repeated on an endless loop until justice is done. #nojusticefordeb
