President of Human Rights Foundation: Fusion GPS is a Professional Smear Organization Hired By Big-Money Players to Destroy Anyone Who Opposes Their Clients

Thor Halvorsen claims that he was exposing a corrupt company called Derwick which had sold a bunch of faulty electric plants in Venezeula, with the contract awarded by corrupt officials who got kickbacks from the company.

In Venezeula -- who'd imagine such a thing.

He says that Derwick then hired Fusion GPS to begin planting stories in "fringe websites" that he was a pedophile and drug addict.

He says their tactic is to accuse any enemy of their clients of acts so heinous that mere innocence isn't enough to remove the stain.

Sounds like he's saying they're a company behind #FakeNews.

Watch his interview on Tucker Carlson.

I feel like a naif and I'm embarrassed to say this but I never knew the full dimensions of what was going on. I knew about oppo research and all that, but I didn't know there existed smear organizations with spies and ex-"journalists" on the payrolls, or that such disreputable smear-shops could so easily plant stories with their "journalist" buddies.

127 The movie "Enemy of the State" has been on TV recently, with Gene Hackman as the former NSA guy that knows all about their tracking and villainy. Will Smith (plays a lawyer) ends up with some evidence on a senator, and they aim to destroy him and any others involved.

To destroy him they murder his friend, and plant evidence that Smith's character did it. Hackman says they did it because that would make him easier to find, and also discredit him if he went public with the intel.

That was made in like 1998, and he said then they were tracking all phone calls for key words, doing all sorts of spying they are doing now we know. But it must have seemed pretty crazy in 1998.

Of course Hillary has collected smear files for decades, and pedophile island has many visitors. They held that "grab her kitty" tape on Trump for 12 years or so. They are not new at the game of treachery and treason, and can insert elements of truth into their bizarre "fake news" soap operas to cover their tracks.

141 I have a litmus test for conspiracy theories or allegations of conspiracy. Does the event require there to have been consistent above-average competence and consistent commitment to ideology, or: mindboggling stupidity/incompetence and general selfishness, laziness, amorality, and willful blindness? Which then required a CYA when things went squirrely?

Option one, the odds of the conspiracy go down a bit. Option two, WAY up.

Even if we didn't have some fairly obvious evidence here, "nobody in the news media ever bothers to do their fucking job and instead they all lean on fucktarded misinformation composed of a guy's discarded nose boogers" puts this into category 2, bigly.

Exactly. What happens to the country? Most of what makes a nation work is an innate, unquestioned trust in the system and how things function. Kick the legs out from under it, then what?

188 "Of course Hillary has collected smear files for decades"

Worth remembering: during the Clinton presidency, in the residential wing of 1600 Pennsylvania, there were stacks and stacks of file boxes filled with FBI dossiers.

They were doing oppo. On the public's dime and the public's time. Using officially sourced intel from agencies of the federal government, material that's not supposed to be casually available for partisan political purposes.

Except they only focused on known threats (both Republican and Democratic). People who had already risen to such a level of political prominence that they would be plausible future Presidential challengers.

That's why Obama blindsided Hillary in the 2008 primaries.

At the time in the 1990s that Clintonworld was busily doing all of this covert advance work on people's dirty laundry, Obama was an obscure backbencher in a state legislature. Not on the radar at all. So when he suddenly came out of nowhere later on, they had nothing on the guy. She panicked and floundered.

191 >>Jactstraw I hadn't watched was taking care of kids this a.m So they are letting the Dems slime slip out inadvertently
Have any of the media covered this?

No, the media is hardly covering it so far which is not surprising. The first you have to remember about Fusion GPS is that they are essentially part of the media. It is a firm started by ex-jounalists and what they do is "dig up" (read make up) dirt and salacious information to discredit anyone who goes up against their clients so that the media won't believe anything they say.

Then they present unbelievable information which is so awful that as Halvorssen said there really is no defense. This is what they did with Trump and the Russia Dossier and things like him peeing on a bed covered with Russian hookers. It's so outrageous you almost can't fight back.

They aren't a research company, they are a professional hit team designed to crush the enemies of their clients. And again, they are very tight with both the Clintons and the DNC. You guys see where this is headed?

218 Having been involved in Arkansas politics on the periphery (not with the Clintons however) during the era of the Clintons--their m.o. has always been cash and dirt. Any politician that crossed them ended up in trouble, usually legal. Bill Clinton's women friends ended up being either paid off or threatened--many were married to others. Walking around money was distributed throughout to ensure voting turnout and some large Arkie corporations bought influence.

Hilary and Bill resemble Tom and Daisy from the Great Gatsby--leaving human and political wreckage behind without so far paying the price. If you combine the Great Gatsby with All the Kings Men, you have some idea about Arkansas politics from 76-92.

There were also other oddities such as prosecutors, a castration of a rape suspect by masked men, an infamously incompetent state medical examiner who decreed that two teenage boys were killed because they smoked too much marijuana and fell asleep on the RR tracks among other issues.

There is a reason that Hillary received one of her lowest vote percentages in Arkansas in 2016.

Now I have to assume this has been gamed out by our Adversaries. One thing they know: A properly unleashed military would quash this unrest, given time and freedom to act. This helps explain why the military has been subject to the things it has--keeping it weakened, destroying its morale and effectiveness--so that the media/culture machines have enough time to kill the will of the otherwise supportive parts of the population to fight.

As I said yesterday the original storyline to the pee party was an effort to rile up Obama supporters. The story being pushed was that Trump went to Moscow and requested the same room that the Obama's had stayed in during their visit and the object of the pee party was to defile the bed they had slept on.

REAL journalist a superstar if they truly dug into this type of
operation
***
Remember how the government went after Rosen, Atkinson, and others with impunity for looking into relatively minor issues in comparison?

So this real potential superstar has to:

1) Have sufficient connections in the government to run down the story
2) Not care that some of the most powerful people in the country, with access to the FBI and CIA will attempt to destroy their career.
3) Not care that there are credible accusations that the same people will engage in violence and even murder
4) Not have any potential skeletons of their own in their closet, or even anything easy to make up
5) Be willing to take down the uniparty, whose ideology meshes with almost all professional journalists, and hand a 1974+ landslide to the current opposition aka the "alt-right"

There is only one person with those characteristics right now and the FNM and the government have tried very hard to make sure there won't be more. Why do you think that when a budding independent journalist like Mike Cerno....whatever his name is...pop up the attack on them is incessant?

That one person would be...Steve Bannon and he seems to be busy.

I have never been so naif.

Twice in my "career" as a citizen-journalist blogger I have drawn the attention of the professional attack-dogs -- and in neither case was it for reasons you'd expect.

One time it was because of this post:

Obama's $3 million S.F. dinner -- the complete guest list

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2011/04/21/obamas-3-million-s-f-dinner-the-complete-guest-list/

The Obama Administration apparently flipped out that I had somehow managed to photograph the entire super-secret private guest list of an Obama fundraiser, and published all the names online.

Starting about three days after this report came out, the following things happened:

-- DDOS attacks knocked my site offline
-- Bomb threats sent directly to the server-farm building in Texas where the physical server-computer housing my Web site was located, specifically blaming zomblog for the threat, forcing the evacuation of the building; the threateners said there would be more bombs unless zomblog was taken offline.
-- A barrage of creepy phishing emails sent to every single email address on my domain.
-- Professional trolls stalking me everywhere I went online, slandering me with insane smears in the comments section.
-- etc.

I am quite sure that it was a smear-campaign company hired by the Obama team.

Prior to that, my first Up Your Alley Fair report (http://www.zombietime.com/up_your_alley_2008/) sent SF gay activists into apoplexies of rage, and in the aftermath so much evil shit happened that I'm actually too freaked out to discuss it, even now, 9 years later. That was the ONLY time hacker-stalkers really went after me personally, with an alarming level of success; and the only time they (unknowingly, I think) breached my primary anonymity wall. Luckily, I didn't react, and they didn't realize how close they came. And once again, it was so professional that I was convinced (and remain convinced) that it was a pro public-relations firm behind the assault -- a firm similar to Fusion GPS.

310 Banana Splits Guy:

I know you have a spastic reaction to anything with a whiff of conspiracy theory about it...

But disregarding some world-wide completely intertwined conspiracy, do you really think that some people with unlimited amounts of money may truly desire unlimited power and use their resources to murder, manipulate, &c and get that power? And I mean just as an individual sociopath/psychopath who has those kinds of resources.

Most of the conspiracy theories presented have fundamental flaws or factual inaccuracies that fall apart under any sort of scrutiny. Yet people cling to them with religious faith. I don't claim that conspiracies cannot exist, I am pointing out that most of what is claimed as conspiracies are non-falsifiable speculations that consist of half-truths and begging the question.

Sorry for the grief and worry you endured. Glad they didn't find you--the real you, I mean.

Given time and resources, anyone's anonymity can be compromised. The reason they stopped hunting you was because the money ran out, not because your defenses are impenetrable. No ordinary private citizen's defenses are impenetrable.

313 Mark Andrew Edwards: "Trump is hamstrung by Barry leave-behinds. I know this sounds very...fictional. But I hope Trump uses this as an excuse to cut staffing, put criminals in jail AND replaces them with his partisans."

It's even worse than that. There are actors of The Borg and NeverTrumpers and infinite numbers of K Street visitors and who knows what all else with hands in the cookie jar otherwise known as "taxing authority" and "legislation". This mass simply will not let Trump's people into the game. They actively block appointments to office. They can harass them when they get there. The partisans against Trump are on both sides of the aisle with the Progressive persuasion composing the highest percentage.

What we are seeing, yet again, is that it's The State against The Citizen. Government run amok and there's damn little recourse the Subjects can take. We only know recognize the folly of following the rules those in power have established for us, the rules they themselves routinely ignore and circumvent.

Trump is just the guy who we picked to beat the weeds to scare out the rats. We just didn't fully grasp the populations.

319 This thing is isn't going away with ballots (f**king obvious by now, isn't it?). The Director of the FBI is a leaker, the General Counsel of the FBI is likely a leaker, and Fusion GPS has more power than NYT, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS combined. A few well-placed Barrett .50 caliber head shots at the top guys at Fusion might make the rest think twice.

Jesus H. Christ, this stuff is all crazy-making. Time to take off the gloves.

I think calling it a swamp is kind. Since when do swamps have turds and used condoms floating in them? Along with slimy toilet paper and kernels of corn?
