Fusion GPS Co-Founder Will Plead the Fifth

Not that it matters. Apparently the only thing that matters is Jared Kushner's closed door testimony, and what Adam Schiff will claim he heard leaked about it later.

Glenn Simpson, whose Fusion GPS firm has been tied to anti-Trump efforts and pro-Russian lobbying, will not talk to lawmakers in response to a subpoena, the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committe said Friday.

Committee chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and ranking member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., confirmed in a statement that they subpoenaed Simpson to appear before the committee Wednesday as part of a hearing about the influence of foreign lobbying in last year's presidential election.

"Simpson’s attorney has asserted that his client will invoke his Fifth Amendment rights in response to the subpoena," Grassley and Feinstein said.

It's an op.

By the way, the Democrats took "intel" from Russian spies and spread it around.

While the mainstream news media hunts for evidence of Trump-Russia collusion, the public record shows that Democrats have willfully used Moscow disinformation to influence the presidential election against Donald Trump and attack his administration.

The disinformation came in the form of a Russian-fed dossier written by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele. It contains a series of unverified criminal charges against Mr. Trump’s campaign aides, such as coordinating

...

Mr. Steele makes clear that his unproven charges came almost exclusively from sources linked to the Kremlin and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He identified his sources as “a senior Russian Foreign Ministry figure,” a former “top level Russian intelligence officer active inside the Kremlin,” a “senior Kremlin official” and a “senior Russian government official.”

102 Here is Session's problem. He should have recused himself in theory. If you're involved in the case being investigated, you should recuse, However, the left doesn't do that, hell we know they don't do it see Kagan.

The entire Marsha, Marsha, Marsha debacle was set up by the left so they could spy on the Trump campaign attempting to find anything they could use against him. So recusing yourself from a corrupt, illegal, kangaroo "investigation" is stupid and naive.

It allowed the left to pull in Mueller and his army of far left lawyers to create "process" crimes to get rid of Trump.

He played right into the left-created coup. He's alos not doing due dilligance investigating the left.

Plus, he speaks poorly and sounds like a fag. I can't believe this guy is some famous attorney and senator.

105 Personally, I think this has been a very effective tactic by the progs. The Russia thing, fake as it might be, keeps Trump and the media focused on it instead of anything else. The GOP colludes dems with a "who me?!?" Look on their face. Leaks galore from within. Can't get people in place to replace the Obama army controlling Washington. Sessions is clueless and impotent. FBI hates Trump over Comey. CIA hates trump because they are all Obama people. Obama and Hillary drum up all the anti trump shit they can and Soros funds it all.

I think Trump is just unable to overcome this massive onslaught. No one is coming to his aide and he's in a fish tank with way too many sharks.

TL;DR. Trump is not going to get anything done that would reverse this cancer that's eating D.C.

What the hell kind of stupid name is Fusion GPS? It sounds like a name some 20ish app developers come up with in the elevator on the way to a pitch meeting for venture capital for their Uber but for unicycles business.

Posted by: alexthechick - Racktastic at July 25, 2017 12:56 PM (mf5HN)

It was the Donkey Kong method of saying "We're diverse and globalist!"

Fusion = "We stand for a mix of all races!"
GPS = "We're GLOBAL, we're CITIZENS OF THE WORLD! OPEN BORDERS, BAY-BAY!"

Took them all of 4 seconds to come up with, doubtless.

Seems kind of unlikely. Sessions was the first Senator to endorse Trump, way before it was cool, and he stood by him through everything including the pussy grab tape. I don't see Sessions as a guy taking a flyer on a long shot Presidential candidate just so he could sabotage him in the unlike chance he actually won the presidency.

Sessions obeyed the law. People can argue forever whether that was a good idea or not but I don't think Trump is covering himself with glory with his actions lately. If you want him gone then fire him. If not then shut up and get on with things.

I'll still gladly pull the handle for Trump again and again, but I do get sick of sycophants that make the case because Trump beat the worst Democrat candidate in living memory (and lost the popular vote) everything he does therefore is brilliant and he should never be questioned.

Actually, it was #116.

Even better than spaces are line breaks. And if the comment gets rejected because the string is too long, put the space at the end of the line. It gets stripped out by the commenting software; meaning that the person following the link doesn't have to edit the link to remove the spaces.

Early Happy Birthday! *throws confetti*

When I was a little girl, there was a tame pelican that hung out at a bait shop on the Indian River in FL where my Grandpa went for all his fishing needs. People would give it fish and you could pet it. I loved that bird.

Then one morning, the owners of the bait shop came to work, and some filthy, evil bastard had shot and killed the pelican.

I'm still bothered by that. And I still love pelicans.

Alabama went for Trump early so lets not pretend Sessions was putting his neck on the line for supporting Trump early.

Posted by: Deplorable Male logic at July 25, 2017 01:15 PM (lKyWE)

254 re Sessions:

1. He may be in over his head running a huge bureaucracy. Nice guy, smart, conservative, but not the person for the job that needs doing.

2. I can only assume PDT has given Sessions and all other Cabinet officers a prioritized list of things to do, or asked them to provide a recommended list that PDT then approved with changes. If PDT has not done this, that's not good.

3. Assuming PDT has given Sessions a to-do list: Sessions is either making progress on PDT's high-priority DoJ tasks, or he isn't. If he's not, PDT needs to dump him. If he is, then sour grapes by PDT lately.

4. I wonder what Bannon is up to these days. If he's as smart and tough and bureaucratically skillful as claimed, the Sessions and Mueller and GOPe crap in Congress should start sorting-out to PDT's favor soon.

All I got for now - back to the office for me.

the thing - you can't "plead the fifth" unless you are being questioned

repercussions of doing so. Keep in mind, "pleading the Fifth" is not
complete immunity from prosecution for violations of the law; it is
merely a protection against you providing statements that may

As a kid I once hooked a pelican. I cast my line, and as it hit the water, a pelican flying overhead dove and hit the bait.

I reeled him in, and we played hell for a few minutes trying to get the hook out of the damned things mouth while it flopped and struggled, but eventually we did, and it flew off.

Posted by: JackStraw

_______

It will engulf the Administration.

My advice would be find some sort of working relationship and move on. After 2020, fire him.

I'm sure Sessions recused himself because he knew Russia was nothing, but then a combination of a rabid press, NeverTrump GOP Senators, and Trump doing some stupid things just kept it alive.

But if you fire your FBI Director, Special Prosecutor, and AG all over "Russia", eventually it starts looking like OJ going down the freeway in the White Bronco.

Always insert spaces or use tinyurl, people!

Posted by: zombie at July 25, 2017 01:02 PM (DQ4Fv)

++++

Actually, it was #116.

Even better than spaces are line breaks. And if the comment gets rejected because the string is too long, put the space at the end of the line. It gets stripped out by the commenting software; meaning that the person following the link doesn't have to edit the link to remove the spaces.

https://pjmedia.com/homeland-security/2017/07/25/bay-
area-isis-supporter-wanted-to-redefine-terror-kill-10000/

In the above link, I put a line break after "bay-" and then I added a space at the end of line. But, if you highlight both lines, you won't see my space at the end of the top line, since the software edits out those end of line spaces before it publishes the comment.

Posted by: Anon Y. Mous

No!!!

Notice how, even after my "problematic" comment was "fixed," the margins are STILL BLOWN.

That's because my comment at #116 did not blow the margins. In fact, they were already blown by then -- by comment #96. And that comment still has the long URL, which is the problem.

Yes, your way works to break up long URLs, and I sometimes do that too, but a space also works. I will try to use your solution more, if indeed it is easier to cut-and-paste.
