Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Backlash: Right Wing Twitter Begins Digging For Dirt On CNN Employees [Warden]Over the weekend, the hashtag #CNNDirt popped up in my timeline. I clicked on it and found that a Trump operative named Jack Posobiec had come up with a very simple and cost-free method of digging up dirt on current CNN employees--punch CNN into the search function of Linked In, then sift through the personal Twitter accounts attached to CNN employees' Linked In accounts. It didn't take him long to find a CNN editor who'd tweeted out rape jokes and comments about how watching the movie, Roots, made him hate white people. The editor quickly locked his account, but the tweets had, of course, been preserved with screen shots. I'm not going to name the guy here. He's not an on-air personality. But I would like to point out that this is a natural and predictable outcome of the war on privacy and free speech that CNN journalists began when they decided to hunt down a Reddit user and threaten to expose him simply for posting a tweet that poked fun at their organization. Low level, behind-the-scenes CNN employees now find themselves in exactly the position in which their management and on-air people have put conservative America--one of fear, frustration and worry that anything said on social media that could be construed as offensive will be used mercilessly by partisans to damage their careers and livelihoods. This is not the world I want to live in. When I first saw that they'd embarrassed this guy, I laughed. I thought he was an on-air personality and at least a minor political player. After I realized he was just an editor, I cringed a little. I can't bring myself to endorse it, but neither can I condemn it. This is what they've done to time and time again us and they won't stop. What alternative is there? Repeated appeals to reason, principle, and human decency have all been made. All have been in vain. The people who work in the media do not use the power that they wield--a power so great that it can drive every day citizens to suicide--with the care and thoughtfulness of adults. They are ill-parented toddlers--self absorbed, thoughtless, careless, and happy to break anything that doesn't suit their immediate purpose. These toddlers have found a box of kitchen matches and are busy lighting their sibling's toys on fire out of spite, oblivious to the danger they've created for themselves. Just as the toddler fails to realize that the fire he's using can also burn him, so, too, does the media overlook that the very techniques they use can be turned upon them, and quite easily. This is only the beginning of an ever-growing pushback, one that's only going to get nastier and more ugly. And everything that happens is on them. This is the rotten, worm infested harvest they have sown and they're going to be choking on it for some time to come.Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

After what the media has done to those who criticized Obama from 2008 to today, I really don't have much sympathy for them.
Plus, I worked at companies that got assfucked by the media over piddly little shit, but it was done because they "needed a story for segment 5 that night". When I called people I knew at the media to complain, and explain and show them that the story was false and bullshit, instead of helping me out, they said "sorry, I can't help you because we don't get involved in 'editorial decisions'". This is what a Cold Civil War looks like, waged through social media.
The other side is already going after us with everything we got. We either do our best imitation of Mitch McConnell and accept the loss, right here and now, or we fight back. Not to be a brute, but it has been pointed out repeatedly that we are at war with these people. Fortunately, for now, this is the type of war being waged. An editor would not be an "innocent." Though he is not the face of the enemy, he would be important in planning and organizing their activities. Is that not what an editor does? He or she sculpts and crafts the message in the way a staff officer sculpts and crafts a battle plan? An editor assigns priorities and allocates resources to his team. As such, this fellow is not merely a combatant and therefore fair game, he is a "high value" combatant and should be singled out for attention early and often, just as was done here. He is just the type you need to impress with a need to restore"truth and civility" to our debates and thereby keep them "debates."

Welcome to the Rule of Law. One set of rules which apply to everyone equally. That's the primary thing I took out of last year's election-- I'm not accepting a double-standard any more. As a lifelong Republican, I think it's a disgrace we would even consider fighting fire with fire by using the same tactics the left is using. Given the latest polls showing 89% of Democrats think Republicans should take the high road on this issue and not fight back, it looks like an early night come 2018.

Its sort of like dueling.
You might think that the best duelist would be able to do as he wished. However if you challenge one to a duel, the one challenged picks the terms. A great equalizer: pistols, one loaded one not loaded, 10 paces. Neither party knows who has the loaded pistol. Both parties have equal chance of certain death. Honor generally found some way to be satisfied prior to the morning of that duel. Mutually assured destruction is a pretty old concept, and pretty effective deterrent. I'm a reasonable, affable cogent person- until I'm not.
The Left's sine qua non has been to mercilessly attack anyone who doesn't disagree with them by making mundane comments or disagreeable points of view toxic. When they actually find something damaging, they usually misrepresent it or spin it to maximize the personal damage. If someone's actually made a comment or been involved in an act which actually is regrettable, they ensure that person is ruined. No apology is acceptable. No regret is accepted as sincere. They've attacked people's families and have held nothing sacred. I know, during some of their earlier escapades someone in my neighborhood actually revealed the industry I worked in and had strange people showing up at my home "protesting ". They don't want a dialogue or understanding. They want war. That's OK with me. I'm perfectly comfortable and capable in that space be it physical or intellectual. They asked for this war and continue to perpetrate it. We've been measured in response, thoughtfully in action and consistent in our commitment to civility. But frankly that time has just about passed. I hope this action against CNN hurts like the clap times 1000. I hope it makes them wonder who that car is behind them, what that noise was outside or why that guy in the coffee shop is staring. May their inner racist, bigoted, anarchical, despotic desires and thoughts be revelaled and crush them. I couldn't care less. Because that's what they've done mercilessly to me and others for years. There comes a time when you tire of being beaten and belittled. That time has come. CNN can choke on an extra large size bag of dicks. Posted by: Marcus T at July 18, 2017 11:20 AM (Ua7n+) 155

Exactly. Here's the thing: the media is almost entirely progressive, because people who get into journalism "want to make the world better!", are fully indoctrinated in J-school, and because you get ahead by demonstrating you're using your skills to discomfort the right people. Then there's the incest between Democrats/Lefty activist organizations and journalists. A lot of people have worked in both industries, and it's common for journalists to also be part-time activists. I would think part of the point of Alinksying the MSM is to demonstrate that the current industry as a whole is toxic and needs to change, even if it's one editor, tv host at a time. But yes, you make numerous judgement calls with your own work and others that you edit. Fortunately, my personal biases tend to coincide with the general views of small business owners and the specific positions of the industry I cover, but I have enough self respect to treat opposing position more openly, honestly and fairly than the MSM. 1. I am NOT a follower, Trump is the follower. I and millions like me have found a powerful man who will take the country in the direction WE want, not where the Faculty Lounge wants. 2. Trump does not make me hate the media. I already detested the media, and finally found a powerful man who will act on my disdain, and take away their power to make changes they were not elected to make. 3. Trump does not encourage violence against the media by crafting some cartoons that are innocuous when compared to the grotesque assasination-of-Hitler fantasies the media pumps out. In fact he provides a healthy and humorous outlet for the frustration of the people with the media. They just aren't used to being on the receiving end of scorn. Does Minneapolis PD do psych tests on their officer applicants? Did the suspect officer pass such a test?
I'm asking this because of a case from New Orleans. NOPD police officer candidate, the PD psych eval said she was not fit for duty. So she went and got a private eval that said she was. NOPD brought her onto the force, black and female. She took a side job moonlighting as security at a Vietnamese restaurant and started shacking up with a younger gang-banger. Her and her lover proceeded then to rob the restaurant. They killed every witness they thought was in the place, including another NOPD officer who was acting as security. Except they missed a couple of people. So I wonder if the Somali cop got any such evaluation? Or did someone decide to check off a Virtual Signaling box or two? "After I realized he was just an editor, I cringed a little. I can't bring myself to endorse it, but neither can I condemn it. This is what they've done to time and time again us and they won't stop. What alternative is there? Repeated appeals to reason, principle, and human decency have all been made. All have been in vain. The people who work in the media do not use the power that they wield--a power so great that it can drive every day citizens to suicide--with the care and thoughtfulness of adults." The answer is - there is no choice. These people need their lives destroyed down to the lowest level news-related employee (including the f*cking intern who fetches coffee). They need to be taught a lesson, a la Carthage - the whole frigging civilization/culture needs to be destroyed and the earth salted so nothing else grows. You know - pour encourager les autres. How about publicizing what Carl Bernstein, of the Washington Post's ex-wife wrote about him.
"In 1976, she married journalist Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame. In 1979, Ephron had a toddler son, Jacob, and was pregnant with her second son Max when she discovered Bernstein's affair with their mutual friend,[8] married British politician Margaret Jay. Ephron was inspired by this to write the 1983 novel Heartburn,[9] which was then made into a 1986 Mike Nichols film starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep. In the book, Ephron wrote of a husband named Mark, who was "capable of having sex with a Venetian blind."[5] She also wrote that the character Thelma (based on Margaret Jay) looked like a giraffe with "big feet."[5] Bernstein threatened to sue over the book and film, but he never did.[6]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nora_Ephron Posted by: MachiasPrivateer at July 18, 2017 12:02 PM (G8zDH) 332

Under the administration that follows the trump administration what you just jokingly suggested above will be known as a criminal conspiracy. Posted by: simplemind at July 18, 2017 11:56 AM (TOr7B) You are sadly, correct. Even though this has been a key part of the "business model" for the NAACP, DNC, Operation Rainbow PUSH, NEA, ACORN and all other Democrat Front operations, for multiple decades. Sadly, we're going to eventually be reduced to a physical courier system of conveying information amongst ourselves, given the smothering, pervasive nature of the modern surveillance state. And even then, the license-plate tracking cameras and facial recognition systems will render even this, impossible. We all tend to leave this world inside a box or an urn. But, I had hoped that I might yet enjoy the dignity of being actually dead, before being placed in such. Their goal is to have us all living in the wee box they define for us, as boundaries. So I predict the Republicans will sit down like a little beaten-dog with the Democrats and they will come up with some type of plan that will increase the amount of subsidies being given to insurance companies for the exchanges and Obama care will live on. The insurance companies will give their token donation to the Republicans and their big donations to the Democrats for hanging in there and not allowing a repeal to go through. Susan Collins will get whatever her pay office along with an extra bump from Planned Parenthood and nothing will change. Herman Cain is on outnumbered and he has pretty much said the above without naming Collins personally

123 So why did that Somali cop shoot the pregnant women in Minneapolis? She was speaking to the driven and the cop in passenger seat reached over and shot her. ================ He shot her from the passenger seat, across the face of his partner who was driving. IF SO Something very very weird going on there. Posted by: simplemind at July 18, 2017 11:13 AM (iSggy) She was holding a cell phone. He saw the phone and assumed it was a weapon and shot. Trust me, this is the defense to be used. Now, we all know how difficult it is to extract a holstered weapon in a confined car. Was this an accidental discharge? Once again, a possible defense point. The incident was a tragic mistake made by Noor. He will probably lose his job and never work in law enforcement. Get ready for it. It is creepy that her death is being used by anti gun editors who keep mentioning her opposition to firearms. Or is that irony rearing its clever editor head? I dunno. On the Minnesota shooting I suspect team Blue is having trouble coming up with a even ridiculously implausible excuse for the shooting. Lets help them out:

278 Does Minneapolis PD do psych tests on their officer applicants? Did the suspect officer pass such a test?
I'm asking this because of a case from New Orleans. NOPD police officer candidate, the PD psych eval said she was not fit for duty. So she went and got a private eval that said she was. NOPD brought her onto the force, black and female. She took a side job moonlighting as security at a Vietnamese restaurant and started shacking up with a younger gang-banger. Her and her lover proceeded then to rob the restaurant. They killed every witness they thought was in the place, including another NOPD officer who was acting as security. Except they missed a couple of people. * * I remember that case, and the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street based on an episode on it. Now I may be recalling this wrong, but I think the woman cop/perp was living in her father's house at the time -- but he was nowhere to be found. After she was shipped off to jail, some bones of a male human, of the right age to be her father, were found buried under the house. . . . (Or maybe that was just how the TV episode ended?) He's not but it doesn't matter. The intern who makes coffee in the morning? You destroy her life. That makes it very clear to the VIPs what is coming for them. No mercy, no empathy, no compassion. If some of you find that distasteful, fine. Sit down and stay out of our way. You can denounce us once CNN is replaced by an actual news organization. And that's another thing - these people are beyond redemption. You cannot "fix" the likes of CNN. You have to nuke the site from orbit and start over from scratch. And quite frankly, the Right sucks at this kind of warfare. If the situation were reversed, the Left would have been camped out on Acosta's front lawn for months, and the trending news would be all the little blonde newsreaders suddenly deciding to retire and "spend more time with family" after Mika had acid thrown in her face.
Not that I'm advocating violence, but the Right really doesn't understand how to wage war. Which is probably why we are going to lose. No worries. We can quote Solzhenitsyn as we huddle around the camp stoves. Lamenting how we chose Civility over Liberty. I call dibs on the lower bunk by the window. Sauce for the goose. What comes around, goes around. Even low-level functionaries need to be held accountable for a system that they help to support, grow, and profit from. And, yes, this is the same kind of fear that conservatives have felt for the better part of the last ten years. Why does only one ideological viewpoint get to be held to account for its actions? Nope, this country is headed for a reckoning. And no one can say that it couldn't have been avoided. There was EVERY chance to do so, but small-minded, vapid, coastal-area liberals just had to keep going there. Posted by: Shinjinrui at July 18, 2017 04:36 PM (h5hE3) 425

"This is not the world I want to live in. What alternative is there?"
I disagree completely with this view. If someone makes a public utterance, go ahead and out them. I make it a point to sign my real name just to make sure I don't say something I would be ashamed of later. That doesn't mean I don't indulge in low brow humor. For instance, I laughed at and shared a joke from the comic strip, "Non Sequitor" where the caption read, "Signs the bathroom fan needs to be turned on". And one character says, "I feel an airstrike coming on, and I don't need Congressional approval". Needless to say, my friends thought it in poor taste when I brought it up during lunch, but it's not something I'm ashamed of. Posted by: Alan McIntire at July 18, 2017 06:10 PM (/RXZU) 428
