Tucker Carlson Now Taking on Unrepetentent Neocons One By One

Two videos below. First, last night's donnybrook with sneering interventionist globalist Max Boot, who has been wrong about virtually everything but just gets more militantly arrogant with every fresh failure.

Then, an interview from two nights ago with Ralph Peters.

Both men are basically still peddling the line that virtually brought the GOP to bankruptcy in 2008 (and swept Barack Hussein Obama into the White House): that America is duty-bound to pursue a naive moralism in foreign policy, with our moralism enforced with lots of US troops, and, worse yet, lots of dead and permanently maimed US troops.

And to object to that -- to say "I don't know if this is worth an American man's legs, and I can't agree, based on the recent record, that putting American targets on the ground for terrorists to murder does much for 'nation-building' and 'democracy-spreading'" -- is to be a "cheerleader for Putin."

This argument is one that's been a long time coming, and I'm glad that Carlson is bringing it out into the open, prominently.

You know, once upon a time, it mattered. If you encountered some clown who was anti-Bush 13 years ago, generally when they slurred the word "neocon" from their slimy mouths, they were mostly objecting to the Jewyness of it all.

Now that we're all looking back on the era, I think we can honestly say... hey, left, you were right about the who, you were just dead wrong about the why.

The dictionary definition of neoconservative is the movement that started out with '60s Democrats, more conservative leaning, who became disenchanted with the Dem's going full anti-war, anti-American McGovernism, and then migrated to the Republican party, kinda conservative wing.

They evolved into this "all intervention, all the time" types under W.

They were aghast at H.W. Bush decision to leave Saddam in power.

As a young buck in my 20s at the time, I thought that was terrible, too.

Now I realize that the old guard there were the last AMerican foreign policy "elites" who had a damn clue what they were doing. After that, they've all been idiots.

Now, when W. came along, the old guard was too old, and it was the neocon young turks who were now in charge.

81 NeverTrump. The Resistance. Tomato, tomahto. Egg McMuffin and Rachel Madcow's Twitter feeds are indistinguishable.

Both of those sides desperately want to make sure Trump fails, and for America to fail by extension. Especially Trump voting states who must be punished. Removing him from office is a long, drawn out process and not even viable given the makeup of Congress at the moment. But what they can do for now is stall bills, stymie, drag feet, refuse to work with, delegitimize, muckrake, legislate from the bench, make wild accusations and any and every thing they can do to make sure Trump does not succeed. His success is the one thing they cannot allow.

In that case, we would just be like some crappy, bargain-basement superhero that wants to do good but keeps screwing up.

But, no, it's not "naive moralism"; it's "globalist agenda."

We're taking orders. Be it Freemasons, banksters, satanic pedophiles, reptilian shape-shifters, or whatever, our politicians have overlords they will not admit to.

...So they cook up moral excuses to go to war.

And nope, there isn't any conceivable intervention worth one American wounded, when the country is so unserious. The entire US military required for anything beyond coastal defense is a gigantic moral hazard, given the populace we have today.

And obviously - and critically - this refers to many here, and our host, as well. The entire country, including most "conservatives", just shrugged when national interests bought with blood were simply thrown away after 2008.

92 Neocons were liberals who defended the wars and so were "new" conservatives. Some of them actually lean right now, lean, not are like Krauthammer. Others, ie Kristol, Ruben, Mensch, a pile of random political appointees returned to the left when Trump showed up and they returned HARD. The left, because they're racist, pro-Muslim, and evil noticed that many of those who supported the wars were pro-Israel jews so they started useing "neocon" as a code word for "joo."

111 I agree with the term chickenhawk. It's really easy to support other people suffering and dying for your cause. How many conservatives who loudly supported Bush's interventions (I'm talking pundits mostly) actually volunteered to serve, even in non-combat positions? How many of them, who could not qualify for military service (primarily age, but also disability), reached deep down into their pocketbooks to support care and support for wounded troops and the families of dead troops? I remember Melanie Morgan (KSFO, S.F.) always talking up Gulf War II and bragging about delivering "cookies and coffee" to the troops but was she making a real sacrifice by, say, taking a year's worth of luxuries (dining out, etc.) and donating it? Not that I ever heard. If you're not willing to serve, and you're not willing for a large chunk of your wealth to serve in your stead, then

And then when Trump won, he couldn't possibly swallow his pride and admit he was wrong, so he sailed off into Never-Trump Forever Land along with Bill KrystallNacht and Egg McMuffin (among others)

And now he sits at night and stews over the ruins of his career, and can't imagine how he got to a point where just about everyone on all sides loathes him equally.

I was against it before it even started. Some people I know were surprised. Figured I was all rah rah for war. I was against the Patriot Act too because I knew it would be expanded and used for nefarious purposes.

I was against it because I knew, based on history going back to Korea, that we wouldn't really fight to win decisively. And that's exactly what happened.

Afghanistan is a losing cause too. No one has been able to beat those savages into submission. Best to just make sure no one from that country is allowed into the US. If they attack an overseas US target, bomb as necessary including and especially civilians and the families of people involved in the attack.

Absolutely critical though is not allowing them anywhere near the US.

167 I don't like the "chicken hawk" thing since it's just meant to stifle discussion, like calling someone a racist, sexist, bigot, etc. This was a favorite slur of Michael Moore's BTW. One doesn't have to have military service to have a legitimate opinion regarding the wisdom or efficacy of taking military action. On the other hand, blindly screaming for war at every opportunity just makes you look like a jackass.

To be clear, the US support was around Ahmed Shah Masood and his allies. They would become the Afghan government after defeating the Soviet puppet state.

The Taliban in turn, with support from Pakistan, would overthrow Masood's government when Bill Clinton stopped giving them military aid.

The day before 9/11 Al Qaeda assassinated Masood because they understood 9/11 would have us giving him support again.

Because of the we supported the North Alliance, which was basically the remnants of Masood's government, but there was no one with the abilities of Masood to put it together into a coherent, anti-Salafist government.

208 I used to run the soundboard/screen calls (if I wanted to get pretentious I would say I "produced") for a regional political talk show on AM radio.

We would run into this quite frequently, where a caller just wanted to talk over the hosts rather than have an actual dialogue. I rigged up what essentially amounted to a cough button that the hosts could press in the studio and it would cut the feed from the caller, unbeknownst to the caller.

We would have a blast with some of the rambling idiots like Max Boot. They would start rambling and the hosts would mute them and then mock the caller and make a point or two to the listening audience and then we would occasionally say to the audience "Lets see if this guy has stopped talking yet?" and open the call feed up and sure enough the psychos would still be talking 1 or 2 minutes later, oblivious to the fact that no one was even listening.

This is what Tucker needs, a mute button for these talk-over types.

Another problem is getting rid of the rebels. Probably will have to just execute on sight anyone coming across the border to join the anti-Assad movements, including McCain and Graham (I keed). Destroying ISIS will help but it's not the end of it.

Putin's not a good guy. There's a compelling argument that he used his state services to level those apartment buildings in Moscow years ago in order to drum up support for another campaign in Chechnya. And those journalists aren't dropping dead into the gutter by random chance.

But that really isn't my problem. That's up to the Russian people to decide. Boot couldn't answer that question either. Both of those guys are simply incompetent.

The end of the Cold War and the unexpectedly easy victory over Iraq in 1991 left the neocons without a guide for policy and a sense of invincibility. So we've spent 25 years thrashing about without any sort of solid policy that the American people agreed to support.

All the evils came in when we stayed in both Afghanistan and Iraq and gave ourselves the fantasy that we could turn them into normal, civilized country's. Idiocy. We should have destroyed their military and left, and told them we'd be back if they caused trouble for us again.

I believe the big idea in all of it was from Cheney:

The chess game that led to 9-11 wasn't worth playing so Cheney kicked over the chessboard with an eye to go for Iran.

The problem was they let Powell make a move with "You Break it You Bought It" which cost two Knights and a Bishop and then the Democrats during the Bush forced a loss of a rook. 260 Russia today is still a rival, but not even in the same class as the USSR of the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Back in those days everyone still believed that they were growing, that their economy was working (in retrospect, it probably looked good because they also benefited in the boom of rebuilding their world after the destruction of WW2) They controlled Eastern Europe, China appeared to be on board with them, they claimed that one day they were going to Rule the World and it actually looked like they had a shot at it.

Compare to today - Russia is good at making a lot of noise, but in actual fact they have the economic output of The Netherlands. Demographically, they are Dying. They have lost all the territory that the Czars spent 300 years putting together, and even though they want it back, they can't afford to do it. (Crimea has turned into a huge moneypit for Putin, which may be why he pulled his punches and backed off Ukraine) The Russian military, by every measure except for nuclear missiles, is a faint shadow of the military they had in their glory days.

Putin does a masterful job of playing a very weak hand extremely well, and making all of us pay attention to him. But his country is dying. He knows it, and so should everyone else.

He will have to pile them high and stack them deep. The more he kills in the beginning, thr fewer in the long run. And just maybe, Syria won't be anymore. Maybe they need Kurdland, Assadland, and a few other Tribal lands.

The downside, especially if it works, is that Jordan, Iraq, and about ALL the mideast will do the same. The only reason Saudi Arabia exists is that the murderous King decided to marry off his daughters to his rivals, rather than try to exterminate them like they had been doing for hundreds of years.

271 "The next guy in charge of Syria."

It's hard to really grasp the enormity of what's been happening, but there is never going to be a "next guy in charge of Syria". As you allude in your post, several something else's will come next - Assad may even stay in power in a rump state focused on Damascus and the the western areas, and it may even call itself "Syria", but it won't be the same thing. Ever. It's just going to be a quasi-feudal area with a patchwork of gangs and local strongmen, a kind of MadMaxistan like Libya has turned into.

What's more, we forget the long term costs of these cities and regions that have been blown up - they're not coming back, those areas are going to be permanently depopulated. There's no infrastructure left to support life, and nobody left willing to pump in what it would take to get it going. We shot our wad in Iraq, and nobody is going to repeat our mistakes.

What's happening in Syria and the Levant seriously has a whole lot in common with what happened to Western Europe after 454 AD. An entire region collapsing into barbarism with localities controlled by local tribes and warlords. Once advanced cities decaying and going back to desert, while the people revert to a neolithic life pattern.

Well, guess what happened when we installed the majority Shi'a as the new leaders of Iraq? Same thing.

Broken into a tripartite state probably would've checked Iran somewhat. They wouldn't control the whole enchilada.

Posted by: Curmudgeon at July 13, 2017 06:31 PM (ujg0T)

The USA isn't over-extended...the problem is that Americans don't want a military anymore. Congress finds it much easier to bribe the voting public by confiscating more and more money and giving the people crumbs in return rather than doing stupid things like defending the country. The Left wants a government that pampers and babies people because that is how the Left sees government. People who used to care about freedom simply want the United States to stop caring about the Outside World, all the while hoping The Big Bad World will just GO AWAY. Both groups see a soldier, sailor, Airman, or Marine, and their faces fill with blood - products of extreme embarrassment and overwhelming shame.

People may now want a Pax Americana, but the same people who whine that we shouldn't have one, or try, will be shrieking endlessly when that becomes Pax Sinica (or something else), because trust me, that isn't going to be liked very much by a lot of people.

Back when the Brits were on the wane, they at least had the United States to pass the torch to. You may want America to become this little whiny has-been, but ask yourself - who steps up to take its place?

Yet he did. And he had a policy of "Don't Win--but Don't Lose, Either." Which means you've already lost, especially after Democrats went haywire after JFK's assassination. A Communist killed him--and they turned pro-Communist. Same with RFK's Palestinian killer. (And they are even more deranged today.)

But when "Asian boys" were finally left to fight alone, Democrats cut off their weapons.

I've heard Tucker say one thing I disagree with: "We shouldn't send kids to defend the borders of (insert name of ally here)."

First, they're not kids. They are men and women, young--but adults.

Second, we have alliances to prevent wars, not to guard every inch of other countries. If a World War ever broke out, God forbid, America will be in it. Better to prevent it with alliances than wait 'til it spirals out of control. That was Churchill's position in the '30's. Alliances save lives, including American lives.

That said, Tucker es en Fuego!

295 "What we were doing in Iraq was as much for our national security as it was to help Iraqis."

I think the Iraq war had two primary causes. One Saddam and the Bush clan had a personal war going on. Two Saddam was undermining the dollar with the Euro. The second part is why Tony Blair was so hot to be involved.

296 "to defeat ISIS."

Indications are that the CIA is supporting ISIS (Reality show videos and more). Pentagon is supporting Kurds. President Trump went with the Pentagon.

CIA, FBI, and DNC are all sub-parts of the same organization. Hard to get a handle on the other alphabet agencies because they are more chaotic.

The US is mostly a massive money laundering operation. Look around your location and start counting up the businesses that couldn't possibly be profitable.

297 The USA isn't over-extended...the problem is that Americans don't want a military anymore.

Oh get real. Look at a map of US deployments. More countries than ever before, spread too thin.

Back when the Brits were on the wane, they at least had the United States to pass the torch to. You may want America to become this little whiny has-been, but ask yourself - who steps up to take its place?
