Trump Is Aging People With His Tweets

Based on the impotent shrieking of the Never Trump bedwetters, he's turning middle-aged men into elderly women.

A major schism in the party is over the question of how much pretense we're fighting to keep lying about. A lot of people seem to think that even though we're plainly in a Cold Civil War, and even thought Joe and Mika spend three hours a day ripping Trump, Trump's supposed to pretend we're all (as John McCain says) Good Friends.

I'm not saying Trump scored some tactical victory here. I'm saying, as I usually do- - who gives a wet shit?

How can the flailing old women of the Nominal Right huff themselves up so much to pretend outrage that a guy being attacked by the media everyday decides to occasionally attack them back?

I understand the leftist media's interest in pretending that they're behaving normally and haven't rewritten the professional code of conduct to allow attacks on Trump which would have been near-hanging-offenses on Obama.

But what is the interest of the sissified Nominal Right over defending the media and pretending along with them?

We are not in a normal situation. Why do the sob sisters and pearl-clutchers of the Pretend Right insist on pretending the media's behavior is normal and that it's only Trump who's guilty of "norm-breaking"?

How much are we supposed to pretend to satisfy these sissies' demands that we pretend we're all Good Friends so that their delicate constitutions aren't too discombobulated?

11 Joe Scarborough murdered Lori Klausutis, his one time congressional aide. The only people that could prompt a re-look at her death would be investigative journalists probing the events of her death including the autopsy report. Joe has become liberal because he knows the liberal media protects their own. If he maintained his conservative (or Republican) credentials he would be an object to be destroyed by the liberal media and Lori Klausutis' death would be the means to destroy him.

"Low IQ" has to hurt because Mika must have been a disappointment to her pompous over-bearing academic dad. Classic cause of bulimia.

Comedian John Mullaney has a riff on how 13 year olds can instantly divine your secret greatest weakness and then hit you with it. Trump is tuned to be that 13-year old.

104 Worth mentioning from the last thread:

307 "Psycho Joe" has to hurt because he's gotten unhinged. You can see it in the reaction of his guests and his salon as he talks over them with repetitious grandiloquent phrasing.

This is absolutely true and it's one of the reasons we kept losing. You get the GOPe up there and it's all muh dignity and muh decorum and everything is deathly serious and you're up against a snot nosed punk who hates rules and has a foul mouth. Who's going to win? The punk because he's going to make you look ridiculous. He's going to keep hitting your buttons until you flip out and look like an over the top nut.

Now Trump has reversed that. He's somehow managing to make the snot nosed punk look like a hysterical buffoon.

He absolutely MUST keep tweeting. I'd also like to see some youtube videos from him about various things.

But he only brings the big guns out once in a while, the rest of the time he's taking care of business and sharing happy stories.

When he does "go low", it permanently tarnishes the brand of whoever he's going up against. And he's already teflon in the public eye. Nothing you could hear about Trump will change your mind about him, really.

My official take: When Trump actually commits a high crime or misdemeanor, leaves Americans to die in a firefight, bankrolls a terrorist regime, and/or insults my intelligence, I'll get pissed.

Obama has done all of these things, and the press yawned.

Ace had described politics in the 90s as a fight between the 40 and 60 yard line. Not the truth of it, but the way people felt. That it could only be passionate fight to a wonk policy nerd.

The reasons for the Queensbury rules to be cast aside is the purpose of Ace writing IMHO. We will choose rhetoric that damns and humiliates over rhetoric that merely wins. Until the double standard isn't in every interaction. Until the democrat party goes the way of the whigs.

ace, we are most definitely in a Civil Cold War. - EXCELLENT term, btw. If you or yours came up with that: bravo.
It succinctly captures our sad but current state of the nation.

But the Cold War between the US and the USSR had a real advantage over our Civil Cold War. When it came to state-power-possession, the USSR had theirs and we had ours.
Thus it was possible for the Cold War to won/ended without a shot being fired.

Do you imagine this is plausible in our current Civil Cold War. That's very hard to imagine indeed. Because what is at stake is just what precisely will be the very nature of state-power-possession... within our OWN state.

By the way, should our sad Civil Cold War heat up, which side do you think the state will come down on? It would have to choose a side after all. And it's got all the best horribly destructive technology which is supposed to be reserved for use exclusively against external enemies.

I remember when Obama condescendingly called a female reporter "sweetheart" in '08 and the outrage lasted about as long as it takes Michelle to scarf down a taco.

171 I don't take the position that Trump needs to pretend like he's friends at all, and (frankly) I haven't seen any other conservatives saying that, so to me it sounds like a straw man.

The problem with those tweets is they make Trump sound deranged and unpresidential.

For starters, Twitter as a medium creates an impression of a some loner yelling at the world because he or she has no one to talk to. This is less so when one is responding to something such as another tweet, but--particularly in the case of the POTUS--one invariably wonders, "Doesn't he have other means at his disposal of getting his message out? This seems to beneath him."

I realize that the tweets helped make Trump, and it's also an excellent means of getting around the MSM and controlling his message how he sees fit. But these two examples are like when you, Ace, used to get into it with Oliver Willis. When you were first starting out, it made sense because you were punching up. But once you had a bigger audience, why throw him the traffic?

Similarly, Trump is punching down here and, worse, making himself seem nutty.

172 I think you can be an effective media critic and call them out without resorting to this, it just makes Trump look incredibly petty and juvenile all to go after a meaningless media figure that probably 90% of voters have no idea who Mika even is.
Posted by: Maritime at June 29, 2017 12:48 PM (IDhq0)

I kinda agree with you, and it's true that most people don't know who Mika is, but MIKA knows who Mika is, and you know she's butthurt over this. Furthermore, other MSM types know who she is, and see what happened to her: she was publicly humiliated.

It's got to give them pause for thought.

So ... I'm in two minds.

Twitter is in an uproar over this. So no heartfelt hashtags about how meany-mean the travel ban is or about how beautiful the immigrant community is and we must cherish 'diversity.'

The best part? Mika deserves it. She's a shrew and a fake. Like most women in Hollywood/media. Any woman over 40 on tv who looks like she's 'aged well' has not really 'aged well,' she's had work done.

And it's one of those 'secrets' that no one in the rich and famous circles will dish about...because almost ALL of them want their surgical procedures secret as well.

Mika is liking falling down drunk at this point, crying and throwing things much like Hillary did on election night. Trump hits at Joe Mika w/ "face lift at Mar-A-Lago", and Mika comes back w/ a picture of the back of a Cheerios box featuring a toddler reaching for a Cheerio w/ the words "For small hands" emblazoned across the top.

Honestly, I laughed. It's just so silly and ridiculous.

If the President/media relationship were HEALTHY, they could snipe at each other like this, get petty and mean, and then after a bit of back and forth they could laugh it off and say, "Yeah, okay, I went a bit off the deep end. Let's have an actual conversation now."

But that's not going to happen, and NOT because of Trump. Everything I've seen of Trump indicates he's a decent guy who's good for a laugh and a slap on the back, even with people he doesn't necessarily like that much. The media, on the other hand, are absolutely vicious and determined to bring him down. There's no reconciling with these people; they're a lost cause. Best to let them scream themselves hoarse and tumble into fringe obscurity while a new breed of political discourse takes their place, whatever that may be. Maybe it's direct contact w/ the people via Twitter and social media, maybe it's phasing out legacy media in favor of newer forums, or maybe it's something else entirely.

Whatever the case, the current structure can't stand. It's coming apart at the seams, and that's a GOOD thing in the long run. The media have become stunted and inert, and so have politicians. They all need to be shaken up.

Yes. It is absolutely necessary to respond to the attacks of those who are attacking you.

You know what is undignified? Letting people tell lies about you especially after they've been faux friendly to you.

The Media, in general, has been Unpeopling people for so long that they just assume it's acceptable. Hell, pay attention to the Left and they believe it is a moral imperative to do so. It is far, far, far past time that someone stood up and said okay, if this is how we're playing, then this is how we're playing and slamming back just as hard.

On July 20, 2001, one of Scarborough's aides died after hitting her head on a desk when she fainted while alone in Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach, Florida, office.[23] According to Scarborough, soon after the death, allegations "spread all over the Internet" that he had been involved.[23][24] There was no evidence of foul play. In 2003, he joked about the incident with Don Imus on Imus's radio program.[25] In 2004, it was the subject of a public spat between Scarborough and filmmaker Michael Moore.[26] Scarborough and Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos had a public falling out over the issue in 2010, which resulted in MSNBC deciding to cease inviting Moulitsas to appear on its shows for "publicly antagonizing one of our hosts."[27]

329 But has it accomplished anything other than this personal satisfaction? Has it made the Press or his other opponents slow their attacks and obstruction? You can make the argument that it has caused them to ramp up their attacks and obstruction.

I think it has accomplished a lot. It has gone a long way to discrediting the MSM in front of the American people, and has definitely put them on the defensive.

Think about it: did you think you'd ever see CNN fire three high-level apparatchiks over a specious attack on a Republican?

Their frothing at the mouth hatred of Trump is causing them to drop the mask so all can see exactly who and what they are.

And that's worth a lot. Breaking the stranglehold of the MSM on political discourse is essential to taking back our Republic.

334 I believe Trump's hammering of Mika and Joe is understandable, because Joe and he were friends, and Trump feels betrayed. After Trump was nominated and then times-100 after his election, Joe and the whole M-J crowd called him unhinged, crazy, and unqualified for City Dog Catcher for 3 hours, M-F.

So Trump rightly feels personally betrayed.

ace,

(very SAD-"dirt ball" confessions and general-apologies from this end are in order, but I hope it will be acceptable that they might occur later. Anyway

Something possibly important occurred to me. Perhaps a truly great service could be performed for the US in regards to the 2020 elections.

Perhaps your website could sharply elevate the issue of our burgeoning Cold Civil War that has only relatively recently started.
And maybe the seeds of this theme could even be planted during the 2018 elections cycle. This MACRO-perspective is a hidden dynamic which ought to be exposed. Let's get on with it.

I think our national leaders should be forced to A) acknowledge this crucial issue; and B) choose a side.

I suspect that the sooner this happens: the better for the cause of liberty and freedom. Buy there are no guarantees.

The Left's successes gave AQ and the Taliban hope that they too could win if they just hang on long enough.

462 also Israel has a wall period is a deliberately ethnic state. Opposes immigration. yet those same Jewish leaders that support all of that for Israel are hostile spazs when we want the. Same damn thing.

463 Oh, I would add that when that scrunt Kathy Griffith said she was going to attack Trump's 10 year old, these pressholes were silent.

"GWB sat idly by and watched the Left/MSM/BIRM wreck his effectiveness as President in a time where our troops were at genuine risk."

Precisely...GWB either did this on purpose or was too stupid to fight, or just was clueless as how to do anything about it.

Maybe all three.

465 "Kroncern noted."

Clever.

I also love the war analogies and how Twitter is now the battlefield where men must prove they're men.

I despise the media, but you don't expend your "bullets" in a spitball fight when you have actual wars on your hand.

We may be stuck with Obamacare despite controlling both houses of Congress and the Presidency, but at least Mika and Morning Joe got their proper comeuppance!

466 Mika is mainly upset that he mentioned her facelift.

I could give a rat's arse about any of it.

Eventually they and the rest of the deeply offended (when blood is mentioned) will self immolate and all will be well.

468 I expect a follow up tweet like: "Ppl mistaken as to Mika tweet-she had not recovered from surgery. Said no! for her own sake. Helped her."

469 RE: "I understand the leftist media's interest in pretending that they're behaving normally and haven't rewritten the professional code of conduct to allow attacks on Trump."

"All the nice cutesy little ethics that used to get talked about in journalism school you're just like, that's adorable. That's adorable. This is a business."

470 This is gold:

We are not in a normal situation. Why do the sob sisters and pearl-clutchers of the Pretend Right insist on pretending the media's behavior is normal and that it's only Trump who's guilty of "norm-breaking"?

Posted by: Rex at June 29, 2017 04:25 PM (yakJq)

471 I'm surprised McCain, who really should have a grudge against these people, is always out there, first in line, to give them some quip about Trump or conservative Republicans.

473 The hilarious thing about this is that the Prez has gotten everyone to think about Mika's FACELIFT, which underscores the fact that these media types are just a bunch of blow-dried millionaire attack dogs, faces who can read off a teleprompter; vanity cases who don't know how to do anything but pose for the camera. Oh, and yes, Fakes.

This is a prime example of what Rush described as Trump using the tweets like a cat owner uses a laser pointer: making the cat chase the dot every day, and crash into the wall.

474 "Woulda been fine mentioning the facelift and stitches to make his point (which was obviously to humiliate), but the guy has got to stop talking about blood and women on the same sentence, it's kinda weird, which makes me think he does it on purpose, but still gotta knock it off."

I disagree with this sentiment. Trump understands something about Nature and Truth that has been lost on the rest of us due to our public educations. Women should not be criticizing men.

475 If the tweets improve POTUS' mood, keep 'em coming. I don't care either way. DJT's targets have it coming.
