#NoSafeSpace: Left Howls in Horror as Right-Wing Protesters Stage Minor Protest in the Middle of Their Trump Assassination Fantasy

A brief interruption by protesters -- which is what happens at every Trump rally and every speech by a Republican -- is now being called the Worst Thing Ever by people who either believe, or have been conditioned to accept, that the left simply has greater privileges than the right.

I don't believe that, and while, for years, I had in fact been conditioned to accept it, I've taken back my own mind now and hatefully reject the claim that the left gets to live life to the full while we cower and ask their permission just to breathe a little extra of their air.

John Sexton has a great recap detailing how the left has employed these Shutdown/NoPlatform tactics again and again, with no blowback whatsoever, and no criticism at all from the Unbiased Mediators of the National Debate (the media).

But I'm sure they're all in a tizzy this morning.

6 If this is the play, it's my understanding they defended themselves with "WE MADE OBAMA CAESAR, TOO!!!," while failing to mention that they made Obama a sympathetic figure assassinated by evil people. Compare that to Evil Trump Caesar being rightfully removed from office by antifa-slogan chanting good guys only to save the world.

I'll repeat what I said below. For those who argue about the principles of free speech, how about arguing for the principle of the Rule of Law?

The rules apply equally to all. I will NOT be a serf. Nope. It's not going to happen. So. Since my decades of assertions re: free speech and the destructive power of the heckler's veto have been met with rejection of that position, then, fine, I will accept that loss and begin to comply with the de facto rules under which this game is played.

Hey. I'm the one who didn't want this. I lost that argument. Fine. We'll play by your rules now. Oh, you don't like that? Then mayhap you should consider your rejection of my position, now, shouldn't you?

And I don't think he's ever endorsed the 'we're better than than' verbal puke vis a vis Obama speeches.

He is a 1st Amendment* absolutist, so no argument with that kind of stance, but there is some minor dance critique in now demanding that all conservatives comport themselves and Marquise dandies on a turntable.

99 "As I mentioned below, the anti Prop 8 protesters crashed a Mormon church service, physically scuffled with parishioners."

The biggest religious bloc in favor of "Prop Hate" in this state turned out to be not the LDS, but the black churches.

Yet for some reason (cough) the gaystapo and their "allies" haven't said or done anything retaliatory against the black churches over the issue of Prop 8 support.

All of the gay left's vitriol and all of their assaultive actions on religious backers of 8 were directed towards the Mormons. And it hasn't stopped or slowed down since. I've heard progressive poofter propagandists say that the LDS must lose their tax-exempt status as a result of Prop 8.

And 8 itself isn't even in legal effect any longer! It was immediately canned by yet another black-robed radical as soon as the matter came into the federal court system, and CA's liberal political apparatchiks then declined to appeal the ruling any higher.

Pretty soon as a tactic it would have been rendered useless, but, no, we assumed the supine position and let them do as they would, and since along the way the Left seems to have developed a urine/blood/feces fixation, it's gotten to be intolerable.

It shows the Left that they have something to lose, and it shows anti-leftists that they are not alone, and that there are others out there who agree with them.

(Note how Reds always try to give the impression that their views are predominant, and any others are marginal. Starting with, e.g., the "Bolsheviks," who were in fact a small minority, not even close to a majority.)

135 I'm curious if the play with Obama as Caesar had white guys stabbing Obama with as much blood and zeal as the did Trump. They had Brutus be a conservative black, per that one review linked here the other day ... which avoids the pure racism a bit, except it suggests perhaps black conservatives are "betraying their race".

And do they go by the actual Shakespeare script? Apparently not ... it is modernized by using political narratives, and even changing the tragic figure of Caesar into a villain murdered by the "minorities" (which makes Caesar/Trump their oppressor, deserving of death).

Is it still free speech? Sure I guess, but it is not Shakespeare.

IF the situation is fixable (I'm not sure it is but I'll play optimist for a moment), then here's how this fixes it:

We make the feel the same pain we feel. We shame them, as much as they can be shamed. We interrupt them. We take away their safe spaces.

Once it hurts them enough, in their self___ or whatever, they MIGHT start to require civility of their own side as a way of reclaiming the moral high ground.

It all depends on if an educational beat-down actually corrects their bad behavior. If it does, then fine. We can have a First Amendment and rule of law.

If not...? The Cold Civil War will go hot, probably. We've already got political assassinations coming from the Left.

What's the end game of the multi-national Left?

I love the post-modern frippery of mil-speak that includes terms like 'kinetic' and 'advanced' when describing actual battles.

Here's one: 'full spectrum warfare,' a term that's supposed to describe a whole-hearted effort to defeat an enemy that includes all institutions military and non-military.

If one is actually interested in moderating the Leftist infiltration of the West, one mighT actually be interested in defeating their infestations with a variety of approaches.

These tactics might include being as obnoxious as some of their own. To the point of being as bitchy and wall-eyed fuck you as they are.

If this moderated tactic annoys, then mayhaps you're just not suited for the fight.

It worked.
The fools fell right into the trap of demanding that some places should be off-limits to protest, and to decry the heckler's veto.

This is making the Left feel the pain of what they've been inflicting on us, to the point that they demand restoration of civility. Who knows if it will work in the long run, but the immediate reaction was priceless.

At another "smart military blog", Solomon's SNAFU, the proprietor is suggesting using her as a test case. Do the absolutely minimal field-expedient repair, and then go out on simulated combat exercises, with assistive ships nearby in case of trouble. Find out how well a badly damaged Burke can carry on the fight.

Then with that empirical data in hand, send her off to drydock.

The USN brass were also quoting $110M for the full fix to the _Fitz_. That seems awfully low. And given her age, who knows what they'll find when they start removing entire frames.

You can do things that are justified by self defense (such as killing your assailant) that would not be acceptable in other contexts.

The pseudo-conservatives who think this is wrong are falling into that fallacy. There is nothing immoral in acting in self defense. It is not a compromise of moral standards. It is not saying "two wrongs make a right".

255 It would be really interesting to find, and publish, the number of hours of training which Big Navy's junior OODs currently spend learning shiphandling and underway navigation, versus, say, Sexual Assault Prevention and Reporting, or transgender pronoun awareness.

There are still only 24 hours in a day, and only a subset of those hours available in which to train. Dialing up the soft social subjects either means that training in total must take longer, or that hard professional subjects must be cut back.

Ace is wrong.

Emulating temper-tantrums is silly. They are superficial and not how you effectively change things. If you really think that this is playing the Left's game, then you don't grok what the Left's game is.

Also, if you are going to pull something, don't act like an amateur and instead be creative, clever, and engage in a bit of jujitsu.

But I get it: Some people just have to scratch that itch and the urge to "just DO something" in order to get that heroin shot of #winning is so overwhelming that people get cranky because they can't join in the disruption fun some Leftists like to violently have.

You have completely and accurately and in all ways encapsulated without any misrepresentation at all the argument presented by ace and those who take the other side. It's all about the heroin, baby. There's no other possible competing principle at stake! None! It's not about analyzing reality vs. theory and attempting to adjust tactics. It's not about de facto vs. de jure rule of law. It's not about standing up and saying I am not a being with lesser rights than you.

It's. Just. Teh. Feelz!

335 And this is not in any way intended to minimize the human losses in the Fitzgerald, just a reasonable assessment of the risks involved.

The LCS is kinda the extreme in casualty-avoidance, you're prepared to lose a ship worth enormous sums to avoid exposing a crew capable of firefighting to the potential of loss.

339 $110 million, make the ship owner pay, if their crazy course shows them at fault.

I recall a Liberian flagged ship operating out of Hong Kong lost power and rammed the shopping center in New Orleans, doing $58M damage tot he mall. Not sure who paid. Some foreign flagged ships have real bad records of maintenance. But this case seems almost intentional ...

If we tried to reach parity we would destroy the country first.
