Damn dog!! Doesn't he know it's Vacation Day Saturday??????

You Morons entertain yourselves. Not only is it vacation Saturday, I've been off the grid and that means no internet as well.

32 Prayer request-long. Sorry

Next week I have to start at the new church I will be serving. They already know me because I was the "communion Queen" every first Sunday while the seminary student wasn't authorized to do that, and I also filled in for her for a month or so while she was on maternity leave. However, there is a problem. The seminary student asked a former pastor to fill for her because she needed someone to preach for two weeks until she starts at her new church. She didn't ask me because last week was Father's Day (A father handles that service)-and I have one woman show performances tomorrow.

This is the problem,. The person she asked doesn't like me but the seminary student didn't know that because the seminary student over me and I love her. The woman preaching tomorrow is retired. She preceded me at a former church and continued to visit parishioners at the hospital and at home after I had started there as a pastor. This is not allowed in our denomination. You are supposed to have a break from your old church for a year in order for the new pastor to be established in their ministry. She told me when I questioned her about it, "This transition will be a difficult one", she said. My response was "It will be more difficult if you continue to give pastoral care after you're officially gone." She did not respond well at all. So, anyway, I wish her grace and blessing in her life, but I don't want her to take a swipe at me as she goes out the door. I have no control over that, I know, but it's her choice on how she handles that. I am praying that she will extend grace to me.

Thanks for the prayers.

45 minutes later, everybody is breakfasted, medicated, and had another go in the yard. This violence is exhausting and they are ready for a well-deserved nap.

Business has almost doubled since we took over. There is a buzz around town that it's the "hip, trendy" new place for breakfast and lunch.

My high-powered architect has submitted the preliminary floorplans for the kitchen addition, so that's going to happen real soon. The wife and I are going to an auction warehouse today to look at a "TurboChef I3" oven that's only a year old. Hopefully, we can buy it and save about $8000.

I work in the media, engineering dept at a TV station, but we support the news department. So, I have an up close view of how the news is formulated every night. When the news director is a rabid anti Trump socialist bastard, the news will absolutely reflect his views. The woman who he replaced was cut from the same cloth. She and I had a rather heated discussion one time, and her statement to me was, "I vote democrat because I ike to help people". She didn't appreciate the laughter. Oh, and this is a major market Spanish station, part of the largest Spanish media network. luckily, most of my fellow engineering people are rather conservative.....and Anglo.

No, because they always renamed a street in the black neighborhoods, and they were already crime-ridden. They did it for the same reasons Lincoln High School is always in the same neighborhoods.

Heck, a whole county in Washington renamed itself after MLK - King County. Which was originally named after Franklin Pierce's first Vice President, William R....King.

Had to do with becoming a territory and the Tacoma area (Pierce County) being the Northern Pacific railroad terminus and that area expected to be the "big" city because of that. Didn't work out.

Futons are much cheaper than mattresses, and they last about the same amount of time. Keep them off the ground with some sort of airspace and they don't mold.
They are a good starter thing, and I am sure your handyman could knock together some platforms for the kids.

I dropped a thousand on two mattresses and box springs and the damned things were useless. I went back to a futon and was much happier. I am about to build a platform so I can replace the useless box spring too, since it tends to sag in the bedframe.

-- Brag about ability to skim pee 'right off the top of the pool'

Surely you meant that ironically? UUs are raving liberals, and they would not follow any of those principles that they profess to follow.

For instance, 6: "The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;"

If Muslims beat and rape their women, then go to Europe to beat and rape them, these people would side with the Muslims. So they are not interested at all in "liberty" or "justice".

325 154 Anyone seeing these signs on front yards ' Hate has no home here' or something simular?
Posted by: Skip at June 24, 2017 09:14 AM (Ot7+c)

Yes. The next town over from here is SJW Central. When my daughter and I walk past one of those signs, we snicker and say, " They forgot to write: Unless, of course , you are a Conservative. Then we've got bucket-loads of hate for you!"
Posted by: RondinellaMamma at June 24, 2017 10:35 AM (oQQwD)

Sigh...even my little two block town is now infected with virtue signaling signs on the doors of a few shops.

Some stupid SJW from Ann Arbor formed a group called "Inclusive" or some such thing. She has run around to every business asking them to sign a pledge that states they do not discriminate against anyone due to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, blah blah. IF they do, then they get to display their black and white, fresh off of Kinko's printer sign that states the same.

Because apparently, before Trump was elected and the ugly conservatives came out of the woodwork, discrimination didn't happen, but on January 21st, people began to be banned from ice cream shops, gift stores, and coffee shops because the evil owners immediately knew they were Muslim, or a lesbian, etc.

Next time I see one of those signs I'm going to ask the shop owner or employee if they can tell me which shops discriminate so I can avoid them.

327 Look, I'm not a UU. I am unapologetically Christian. Jesus Christ the Lord saved me, is saving me and will save me. I just think it's a good idea when dealing with religions to look at what they actually say about themselves in addition to how they function in the world.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke

I've always perceived you couldn't be UU, but I think it's a mistake to regard them as a religion. They are like Jeremiah Wright's "liberation theology" church. They are phonies: a secular political movement pretending to be religious.

The lefties did something similar here during the Walker recall election. If you didn't display the proper sign in your window, you wound up with no window at all.

329 The Founding Fathers debated laicite, as the French Revolution would later put it; making America an officially nonreligious state. Jefferson and his fellow deists and near-deists considered it, but realised it would violate states'-rights. Especially in Massachusetts, which wanted to keep its established (Puritan) church.

There were other debates mainly about the exact wording to use. Because if they got the wording wrong, the worry is that it would end up in bad law.

It was a couple decades ago so my memory is fuzzy.

You familiar with the Anabaptist movement in Europe?

My ancestors were pursued out of Switzerland in the 1600's, into England and finally settled here in the mid 1600's.

I get the concept of religious persecution.
