"Media Equality Project" Urges Boycotts of Advertisers of Progressive TV, to Fight Fire With Fire

It's about time.

Actually, it's way beyond time.

Let me clarify:

The tactic being objected to -- and I didn't make this clear yesterday -- is the tactic created by the left called a "secondary boycott."

None of you can "boycott" Rachel Maddow -- you're already not watching her, and you enjoy not watching her, and you recommend not watching her to all of your friends.

Well, leftists realized that about Rush Limbaugh -- you can't boycott that which you already don't use -- and so invented the tactic of telling advertisers: Stop advertising on his show or we will boycott you.

That's the "secondary" part of the boycott: You're not boycotting the primary target. Which is obviously your right. You're now conducting political campaigns against businesses to make them stop advertising, and get the show taken off the air entirely.

This is why Cars Dot Com and USAA boycotted Hannity -- because the losers of this movement decided to start pressuring the advertisers to stop advertising there.

This is what I mean by "constant political campaigns being run against people not actually running for any office." These are actual political campaign style efforts -- with websites, donor buttons, etc. -- being run not just during campaign season, and not just against an office-seeker, but 24 hours a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year, against just about anybody.

Note that the fringe actors who do this shit do so to raise money. They're fringe, and they're not going to be hired by actual political campaigns, for the most part.

But they have to make money, don't they?

So they just decided to invent their own political campaign which is not time-limited as ordinary campaigns are, and just buckrake endlessly to get this or that person silenced.

And they've had some success.

Even where they don't succeed outright, they make themselves permanent residents of your mind: Because they've taught you to fear them.

This is what I'm objecting to -- I understand that there will be politics in politics, but I don't want fundraising political campaigns constantly running against anyone the left doesn't like making all of lives, every single day, every single hour, part of and endless and ugly War of All Against All just so some energetic obsessives can make a dime and feel powerful.

And while I object to this sort of thing on a visceral level, I say the Media Equality Project is exactly right -- the only way out is the way through.

If you want peace, you must start using this sort of tactic against the left.

If Rachel Maddow starts losing advertisers -- if you make it clear to her advertisers you will permanently boycott them if you see their ads on her conspiracy-mongering show -- then you'll suddenly see the rest of the mainstream media decry this (obviously) anti-free-speech, permanent-politicization-of-mundane-business-decisions tactic.

But the left will only declare a tactic out of bounds when it's used against them.

Just like they were in favor of incitements to political assassination when the President was Bush, then against such things when the president was Obama, and now, again, kind of okay with it when the president is Trump.

The idea of a secondary boycott -- of making ourselves such loathsome, spiritually empty bullies that we'll threaten strangers to harm their business just for the mundane transaction of buying some ad time to reach a customer -- is disgusting to me, but if we do not return fire with our own fire, it will go on forever, and always directed only at us.

And I can't abide that.

A Buzzfeed "reporter" seems to be actively promoting the Hannity boycott.

Apparently completely oblivious to the fact that Buzzfeed's economic health, and whatever pittance she gets paid by Buzzfeed, relies largely on advertising income.

And Buzzfeed says a lot of offensive things -- or at least things we can make ourselves to pretend to be offended by, if they're insisting on doing that themselves.

We can bleed?

So can you motherfuckers.

If Hannity should be boycotted for promoting conspiracy theories, then so should Rachel Maddow, who was (and is) the number one conduit for spreading unhinged leftist conspiracy theories into the mainstream.

Remember "the FED" murder theory she vigorously promoted, a murder of a federal employee she insinuated was carried out by Right Wing Murderers.

It was a suicide.

Remember the "Yfrog hack" of Anthony Weiner's account that came from a fringe leftwing blog? Which network anchor "mainstreamed" that absurd fiction? Rachel Maddow.

It's just one conspiracy theory after another with this lunatic, and yet none of her fellow Guild Members -- not even the Great Teller of Non-Partisan Truths Jake Tapper, who's Johnny-on-the-Spot about naming and shaming conspiracy-peddlers so long as they're on the right -- ever has a damn thing to say about Maddow's never-ending carnival of conspiracy theories.

If peddling conspiracy theories is objectively bad -- not just depending on which tea is pushing them, but bad as an objective, non-partisan fact -- then why does Rachel Maddow keep doing it, why has she never been called out for her past conspiracy theories, and why does the alleged Scourge of Conspiracy Theories Jake Tapper never seem to notice them?

So if this is just about #FakeNews and being #AntiConspiracyTheory as an objective, nonpartisan matter, why does the Queen of Conspiracies have a permanent pass to just keep on mainstreaming fringe conspiracy theories?

As a commenter said, quoting Stonewall Jackson: If this be the medicine they want, let them have a bellyfull of it.

The only way to end the fire is to become the fire.

At least for a while.

Until the arsonists have been burned enough to put away their matches.

4 Speaking of lefty TV, Netflix just cancelled the Wachowski Brothers' series Sense8. On the one hand, I kind of liked the premise of the series, a group of people around the world discover that they're telepathically connected and have to use their various skills and abilities to survive in a world where a sinister organization hunts their kind. On the other hand, it devolved into extreme SJWism in the second season, and so I'm glad that it's being shitcanned. My guess is that most viewers were turned off by the far left crap.

30 This works. Really.

Back in the day, Rosie O'Donnell said on the View that fire can't melt steel and went into conspiracy loony land inre 9/11. I noticed that Bush's Baked Beans was one of the advertisers, and my family was a regular consumer of those beans.

I sent a terse, polite email via their website, expressing confusion that they would support such a thing. Within an hour I got a profuse apology from Bush's that said they were hearing this a lot, along with a promise that they were assessing their advertising operations.

I recall that they pulled their ads after some pressure.

Write them, but be polite and firm. No one is going to pay attention to a letter that starts "Hey you big dumb shitbag, what the fuck?" But they will read a letter that's clearly written that gives them the chance to do the right thing.

32 Well said Ace. I'm trying to urge this "I'll boycott you unless you drop this loathsome person" tactic for clownwhore Griffin. Even more so after I saw her rolling eye *apology* last night on One America News. Of course it was easy for me to tell TicketMaster I'll boycott them because I never go to concerts or big sports events anyway but I didn't tell them all of that. Anyway I think the lefties make these threats all of the time without really intending to follow through for more than a week or two.

I do think conservatives who are sick and tired of this one-way BS should follow the Alinsky playbook of picking just 1 or 2 targets and focusing on them until they are gone and then moving on to the next one. So its very useful to have voices like yours to coordinate with "Mad cow" is the target of the week and so on.

75 The Marxists must be destroyed. It's us or them. I wish this was not the choice, but it is.

I've read way too much, heard from their lips, and understand exactly what they think about us and about human beings in general.

This has become a binary choice in my mind. Us or them. And they pushed it to this point, so I don't feel guilty about it. I only feel the stronge urge to destroy them and survive.

And if the Politicizers pick to Politicize all of your shit ? Then it really is a binary choice between "What I'll fight about" and "What I'll give up without a fight".

Subject: Promise Kept - Paris Climate Deal

Mort,

The United States is officially withdrawing from the Paris Climate Deal.

It
was a terrible deal that crushed hardworking Americans and handed over
control of our country's future to global power brokers.

Now
those very same special interests -- the fake news media, Hollywood,
lobbyists, and the entire corrupt establishment -- are attacking us from
all fronts.

I need you to defend our decision to put America First and stand up to the vicious attacks coming our way.

Thanks,

Donald J. Trump

113 The Left is better at boycotts than the Right. A good Leftist can old a grudge for decades.

Also, due to corporate culture (which is often liberal when it comes to social issues like sexual orientation, trannies, race, etc.), it often takes a lot bigger of a boycott on the Right to get attention than one on the Left. People think of corporations as these soulless entities that only care about money. That's of course true, in a way, but real people are involved at different levels in making these decisions and people have biases. It's not an even playing field. People on the right have to be willing to work harder than people on the left and significantly so.

"Hey! I'm Aaron S, a volunteer with Protect My Care Coalition.

Paul Ryan, Governor Haslam and others who have been sabotaging the ACA are coming to Knoxville for a $10k+/person fundraiser tomorrow at 5:00 PM.

178 "Write them, but be polite and firm."

Polite, absolutely and always. It is more in sorrow than in anger that our family is forced to consider alternatives to your fine products which we have used for so many years.

Also, at a lot of corporations (and politicians' offices) an actual stamped postal letter carries more sway than does an e-mail.

It implies you had that much more indignation and determination behind your action than did the flighty person who simply pressed "Send". Or "Forward" on a chain e-mail.

When your sentiments are shared by enough other correspondents that the wave of snailmail starts being muscled in by the postal service in those big translucent fiber-plastic handle crates the USPS use when there's a lot of the stuff, that makes an impression on the recipient.

What I do is buycotts. If somebody does somebody does something I like, I go out of my way to buy their product. For example, for some reason I have long since forgotten, that political wing consisting of vicious pathological liars urged a boycott against New Balance shoes. And Twitter makes it easy to find their handles.

So follow the link to get to their listings of the advertisers, and get out a pencil and notepad. Jot down every business that runs ads during Maddow.

Or Matthews, or CNN when Lemon's on, or Farid Raghead or whatever his name is.

It won't matter who. Many of the businesses repeat.

Tweet every one of them and say I AM DONE WITH YOU FOR SUPPORTING MADDOW'S HATRED, AND I AM TELLING EVERYONE TO DO THE SAME.

Or whatever you want to say, but keep it to under 140, and be sure to tell them why.

211 This could work with the suddenly richest man Bezos, or with Zuckerberg and his Facebook monopoly. They were pushed to monopoly fame by billionaires and who knows what deals (with devils) they made to get there.

Easy money policy distorted markets and propelled their "deficit spending" for a generation operations to the top of antitrust fame. Now the Zuck' agrees with Merkel to help police the non-PC German speech, and agrees to censor on behalf of the Commie Chinese.

What if I use Facebook but also boycott their advertisers at the same time? What if I also join an alternative conservative social media site only for registered Republicans, or only ... whatever? I service those ads, but reject FB ads as enemy agents that give money to a fascist company that censors and promotes communist regimes.

And importantly, I constantly contact the companies that support oppression and censorship that their company must be pushed to bankruptcy for supporting these little billionaire commie monopoly enemies. I organize picketing campaigns in front of their stores for daring to support billionaire commies that buy newspapers to push anti-American lies and to bring down a duly elected president.

The left has some that do this backed by billioniares like Soros, who do it for the own totalitarian profits. But patriotic Americans can now do it to save the country, for true blue reasons. We have to do it, because our government has been occupied by deep state leftist liars and spooks intent on the end of the republic ... trying to end Western Civilization itself.

The Fourth Turning book has it at every 4th generation, each generation being roughly 20 years.

Currently we're in the crisis period, which they say always ends in war.

Let's go back 80 years from here: 1937, Great Depression leading to WW2.

80 years before that: 1857, the runup to the Civil War.

80 years before that: 1777, American Revolution.

234 The Left has been disturbing my "wah" for quite some time. I resent it. And I resent that I have allowed them to have me silence myself or at least think longer than I should have to about how, what, where, and when I say something.

After Ace's long coming to jesus moment, I found myself at the Media Equalizer site by accident. And they are just starting out. They need help.

I believe the only way is through it. For this, and many things painful things in life. So, I will do my part. Also, the Left weakens when we meet them on their turf. Because they are stupid. And because they are bullies, and cowards who want to take away what I hold dear.

I do believe our "tone" should be non threatening. Say what we mean. Do what we say, but like the Tea Party we can distinguish ourselves by not leaving a mess for someone else to clean up.

Another thing: if the Republicans were worth shit, they'd push through a bill mandating a la carte cable subscriptions. You could pick any X channels - none would be automatic. So long CNN and ESPN. That's what a serious political party would do. But the GOP would rather keep funding Planned Infanticide.

****

I still shop at Target but when I gotta take a shit I just do it in the aisle. Who are they to tell me where I can and can't take a shit.

307 I read, "and just buckrake endlessly to get this or that person silenced." as

"and just Bukake endlessly to get this or that person silenced."

308 So I just binged "advertisers on cnn" and there's an article (listed second!) at the Daily Wire that says:

"On Wednesday, Ace of Spades spoke quite elegantly for those of us who abhor the whole idea of boycotts against we do not like but ..."

That's hot.

309 Here's a link to the CNN advertisers that seems recent.

310 I like the idea, but not the reality of boycotts. I want the left to suffer for their attacks against good people, but I really mostly want to be left alone.

Can we threaten and then not have to follow through?

314 Don't tell anybody but I have actually made other humans bleed...alot...until they stopped. Bet many others here have too. Not something I'm proud of but was a necessity. When I wake up in the middle of the night, think about that, don't have a problem going back to sleep. YMMV

315 Ace-- Clearly, I'm late on this one. In any case, this is classic. Another fine example of "it works for them until it doesn't." They SJW's got away with it when Brandon Eich was fired from Firefox, the bakers, the photographers, wedding planners, and now, they're hitting up sexual "harassers" while having ignored the very same. It's disgusting and I frankly, don't live in fear of these sad, sorry P'sOS. We also have what Kathy Griffiin did. More despicable behavior that had it been done to the SCOAMF, the shooting would've started. No, I fight back. All day, every day. Their power is crumbling like a dry rotted piece of foam. Let. it. burn.
