More #FakeNews from the National Laughingstock: Washington Post Dresses Up Old Silly Joke as Allegation that Trump Is Being Paid By Russia

Oh my.

Here's what the National Laughinstock claimed happened:

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016 exchange, which was listened to and verified by The Washington Post. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) immediately interjected, stopping the conversation from further exploring McCarthy’s assertion, and swore the Republicans present to secrecy.

Sworn to secrecy? Oh, my.

Compare that to the actual transcript:

Democracy Dies in Darkness Madness.

Update: Oh.

19 FWIW, predictit has Trump at 70% finishing out the year as president. It was in the mid 80s last week, it fell to the low 60s yesterday.

That's a fun website to pet on politics. All sorts of bets like will there be a tax cut this year, will Obama testify this year, will.

There's also a "will Trump be impeached in 2017" bet which is at 75 No. Which is higher than will Trump finish 2017 as prezzie. Which means there's betting out there which essentially is saying Trump will resign in 2017.

None of these journos on the news have security guards. They're beloved and they don't need them.

Consider the audience to which they are playing, rabidly anti Trump, and not very likely to do more than skim the story for it's salacious talking points. Even those few who dig deep enough to read the provided transcripts are going to read them through the bile colored lenses the Wapo headline provides. They'll link to the article through whichever social media platforms they use, Wapo gets clicks, makes money.

It will all be forgotten the next day when Wapo reveals it's next headline grabbing anti GOP, anti Trump headline.

Lather, rinse, repeat. And, as always, ignore Wapo.

This is the biggest problem with politics. Even people who are obsessed don't know more than a couple percent of what they need to know to really make a good assessment.

Almost everybody, from Joe Random to Joe Professional Pundit, is suffering from severe Dunning-Kruger on the subject. And as a reminder, that doesn't mean "dumb," that means you don't know enough about a subject to determine how much or little you actually know about the subject.

I spend *way* too much time on this crap and I *still* have gigantic gaps in my knowledge that make judging a lot of people and their actions a crapshoot. I hate it, but given the fact that I have to quadruple-check every piece of information I see and often *still* can't trust it, I don't see it getting any better.

120 My eyes searched the large, crowded lobby until I saw him. He was standing near the cameras speaking to a throng of reporters, his surprisingly agile body quickly turning this way and that, seemingly with eyes in the back of his head as he employed practiced footwork that would be the envy of any NBA power forward. The other politicians blocked out from the line of sight of the cameras grew increasingly frustrated.

Chuck Schumer. He is the future, I thought to myself.

I turned my head and looked at the man next to me. Good old Preet. Confident and calm, his expression of placid, assured enlightment calling to mind some ancient carving of the Hindu god Vishnu. And well he should be, as we both knew everything was well in hand.

"Six ways from Sunday" he had said? If anything, Schumer had understated the situation.

"The appointment of a Special Counsel, while a belated acknowledgement from the Trump administration that serious wrongdoing has occurred, is not an end but a beginning," Schumer was saying. "To begin to lift the cloud of taint that has enveloped his administration, we expect to see a new FBI Director that all of us, Democrats and Republicans, can have confidence in."

As I stood there, the faces of recent years flooded into my consciousness.

The unflappable Jim Clapper, beavering away for years in the bowels of the intelligence community, laying the foundation of the deep state. They can vote for whomever they like, but never again will the deplorable trash of flyover country take the controls of our government like some drunken, belligerent passenger barging into the cockpit of an airliner.

The ever-planning John Brennan, as-salamu alaykum, unwilling to be bound by the conventions of an Islamophobic American society. Though he had many enemies, he was always a step ahead of them.

Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, protectors of our public servants, like a pair of winged lions at the entrance to a Babylonian throne room.

Hillary, accompanied in my memory as always by her ever-present aide Huma, demanding that we move beyond the outdated architecture of a society that appeared too often to hinder rather than encourage progress. Would I fall on my sword for her? As many times as needed.

And Susan Rice, like some cartoon superhero with her super power being the willingness to say anything we needed her to say, always knowing she would receive her reward.

We will prevail. Because we have to.

151 Oh it's real.

And it's spectacular.

========
The September 21 visit provides again an
opportunity to deliver the requested ten-gram sample from the
seized HEU in order to obtain cooperation from the GOR on
this nuclear smuggling case and to eventually establish a
more productive mechanism of U.S.-Russian cooperation on
nuclear forensics.
......
--We wish to inform you that FBI Director Mueller plans to
arrive in Moscow on the evening of September 21 with a
ten-gram sample of seized HEU, which you requested for
nuclear forensics analysis.

--We regret that the April visit by Director Mueller could
not take place due to a scheduling conflict. We would be
grateful once again for the Russian Federation's willingness
to receive the sample and facilitate the logistics for its
pick up.

--As before, we require confirmation that a representative
from a responsible Russian law enforcement authority will be
available to accept custody of the sample and have signatory
authority to accept the sample.

--We require that the transfer of this material be conducted
at the airport, on the tarmac near by the plane, upon arrival
of the Director's aircraft.

--We place a high priority on completion of this sample
transfer to facilitate your forensic analysis of the
material.

--Further, with the delivery of this sample, we hope to
collaborate more closely on promoting a more effective
relationship between our law enforcement organizations to
counter illicit trafficking of nuclear materials.

--In particular, such efforts were underscored in the July
Summit joint presidential statement on nuclear cooperation
regarding our commitments to strengthen cooperation to stop
acts of nuclear terrorism. Securing vulnerable nuclear
materials and improving nuclear security within our two
countries is our highest priority.

-- It is our hope to eventually establish a more systematic
mechanism to facilitate U.S.-Russian cooperation on
investigations into nuclear smuggling cases. We continue to
believe that Russia should be concerned by the prospect that
HEU was diverted from one of its facilities, and should
actively investigate the incident.

Most of the "information cloud" around you still says that's fake. If conventional news regularly said it was real, and academics and celebrities both said it was real, a majority of people would believe it.

Most people, including most people who think they're "woke" or took the red pill, still spend most of their time being pushed by currents they barely perceive.

You have to be really Unabomber-level antisocial to not be pushed around like that, and most people like that are Unabomber-level wonko.

--------

Yep. In the language defining the jurisdiction of the Special Counsel, Deputy AG Rosenstein included this:

"and (ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation"

So anything the investigators directly stumble across in the course of the investigation, even if nothing to do with Russia - like someone in the Trump administration jaywalking across the street - can be further investigated and prosecuted by this loose cannon rolling around on the deck of the Trump administration.

Don't be surprised if the Special Counsel gets a grand jury subpoena for Trump's tax returns - we won't hear about it except through leaks or afterwards - because the Dems and GOPe are obsessed with Trump's tax returns and under law the IRS is very limited in its ability to share them.

What the Deputy AG should have done is specified that any matters that the Special Counsel comes across in the course of his investigation that he believes warrants further investigation or prosecution but which are not related to Russia, are to be referred back to main Justice.

Yes the independent prosecutor law expired, but there has been still remaining regulations within the Justice Department providing for the appointment of a special counsel to handle matters where there is a conflict of interest.

That regulation has been there through all eight years of the Obama administration.

It was there when Obama's appointed Attorney General and Obama's appointed FBI Director investigated Obama's appointed Secretary of State for keeping a secret, personal repository for email communications containing classified information and then let her off the hook.

But I guess the media forgot to point out that there was a special counsel procedure available at the time.

Jeff Sessions, Rod Rosenstein and the FBI counter-intelligence division could investigate that right now if they wish. They don't need a special counsel to investigate it.

I would guess the problem is that FBI personnel along with NSA and CIA personnel were complicit in the political spying on Americans.

The FBI won't investigate itself until there is a turnover in personnel within the FBI.

Worst case, they find a way to get him out, we get Pence and the shit storm starts from pissed off American patriots playing open season on all these fuckers ruining this country.

Best case, they can't get him out but sufficiently hamstring his entire Presidency with this non stop noise till he says fuck it and retires to Bora Bora with his hot wife.

359 Chaffetz on Tucker tonight said that one of the most frustrating things for him and his committee hearings is even though he issues a subpoena he has almost no power to enforce it. To enforce it he has to go to the DOJ and have them agree to go to court. Well imagine how quickly the DOJ wants to go to court to get a subpoena to investigate themselves or the FBI. He also said that even after eight years of the Obama ad ministration not turning over documents he now has the same problem with the trump administration they have not produced the documents he's requested in the last two years either .

As an aside, decades-long series of studies have been conducted on
the effects of media messaging on human consciousness by the MIT Media

371 Bottom line is, in the secret civil war going on if you are not on offense you are on defense. Julius Caesar could have told you this. Or Napoleon. Or Patton.

Trump and Sessions needed to come in, and then immediately set up an investigatory/prosecutorial function to attack, attack, attack the Deep State.

Appointed someone like Joe Digenova or Jay Sekulow as Deputy AG for Government Corruption.

Assemble a team of straight arrow FBI agents from Butte or Fairbanks or wherever, untainted by FBI HQ, and get them the necessary security clearances.

Then quickly investigate and indict Lynch, Comey, Yates, McCabe or whoever it was who was "in" on the obstruction of justice in whitewashing the Clinton investigation. Investigate and indict Rice, Clapper, Brennan, Rhodes, or whoever illegally spied on Americans using the national security apparatus.

Investigate and indict anyone who lied to Congress in the Benghazi investigation. If anyone in the federal government had any communication to influence the jailing of the video-maker blamed for Benghazi, that is abuse of due process and denial of civil rights and should be prosecuted.

Investigate and indict anyone in the federal government who conspired with BLM rioters or arsonists.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

I believe the Sergeant at Arms at the Capitol could nab these scrofulous creatures. I believe there are jail cells at the Capitol as well. Congress has a lot of power, or had a lot of power, before it was delegated over the decades. It appears they are For Display Purposes Only.

Congress has the "power of the purse." And they seem to have failed miserably. They have the power to Impeach, and brothers and sisters, there are a LOT of folks who deserved it, and deserve it today. President Trump has a lot of innuendo and speculation and phony baloney plastic banana good time R&R BS being thrown at him, but Clinton has a list of felonies as long as my leg and thousands of counts of it.

The whole thing is surreal, and Congress is to blame. Their inaction allows the press and others with ill intent to act with impunity. This goes WAY back. Just off the top of my head -

Remember Lurch testifying before congress in 1970 or so, and the "Jenghis Khan" BS? One of the guys with him was a guy named Al Hubbard, who made all kinds of claims. Turns out, Al wasn't an Army officer, and had never even BEEN to Vietnam, he was in the Navy. The whole thing was BS. Then he takes it upon himself to negotiate with a foreign power. WTF is wrong with Congress? Lurch should just be getting out of prison about now, instead he catapulted himself into a Senator, and very nearly President, and SOS, etc.

It's just nonsense as far as the eye can see. All of it virtually, completely un-necessary.

Hahahahaha.

Liberals don't pay for anything. They just virtue signal about paying for things and then try to shame other people into paying. That's certainly the case with the limousine liberal crowd claiming to want higher taxes and then using every loophole in the book, and I'm quite sure it applies to a lot of these twitter twits who loudly claim to be paying for the Times and the Post. I've had a few of these types lecture me about how "we" needed to pay for "the truth". I told them I wasn't wasting my money on garbage.
