After Her 2008 Primary Loss to Obama, Hillary Clinton Spied On Her Own Staff to Find the Traitors and Leakers

No wonder she's paranoid about email security. She's pawed through other people's emails to find dirt.

This was reported in “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, which I guess I have to read.

She wanted to know what went wrong, so...

To this end, she had a trusted aide access the campaign's server and download the emails sent and received by top staffers.
"She believed her campaign had failed her -- not the other way around -- and she wanted 'to see who was talking to who, who was leaking to who,' said a source familiar with the operation," Allen and Parnes reveal in the book...
Rattled by what the emails revealed, Clinton began calling meetings to evaluate what had gone wrong. The staffers had no idea she'd read their emails.
"I was struck by how good of a sense she had before I walked in there of the problems that were going on," one aide is quoted as saying.

Two of Hillary's top staffers were not invited to join the Obama Administration, possibly because Hillary had decided they couldn't be trusted.

244 Just finished the book "Shattered" (listened to it from audible.com)
It covered the timeline thoroughly, but since it is based on quotes from the people involved, both verbal and written, it is limited -- lengthy, but shallow. I suspect that the authors included only what they can verify, when they are sued in court.

While there is new stuff to learn because it contains a ton of information from campaign insiders, there is not much red meat in there for partisans. Well, I guess, unless you are a lefty partisan, then you would be mad. But really, there is no mention of the vodka swilling or lamp throwing that we speculate happening.

And, I suppose that it was outside the scope of this book to criticize Obama, righties reading this book will be startled at how flattering it is of him (his oratory, his temperament, his concern for orderly transfer of power on account of how much he loves the country, barf).
