Good Morning and Happy Easter Morons. Today is Sunday, April 16, 2017. On this day in 73 AD Masada, a Jewish fortress, fell to the Romans after several months of siege, ending the Great Jewish Revolt.

Talk about a fucked up situation. I can understand how twins separated at birth or while young have joy at being reunited, but that's definitely not the case here. Honestly, I can't imagine the things going through this married couple's minds. Couple finds out they are biological twins during IVF treatment A married couple who struggled to conceive only discovered they were twins when they went through IVF. The unnamed couple underwent the treatment to help them have a baby. But doctors at the fertility lab noticed their DNA was abnormally similar. At first, lab technicians believed the pair may be unwitting cousins, but soon ruled that out because the DNA was too similar. Eventually doctors confronted the pair, who burst out in laughter when they were asked if they were related. A doctor at the clinic in Jackson, Mississippi, told the Mississippi Herald: "It's just a routine thing and we wouldn't normally check to see if there was a relationship between the two samples. "But in this case the lab assistant involved was shocked by the similarity of each profile." Adding to the compelling evidence was the fact the pair shared the same birthday and that friends had remarked how similar they looked. The doctor who broke the news described how the wife pleaded with him to admit he was joking, but he added: "I wish that I was, but they had to know the truth." It soon became clear that the pair were in fact unwitting siblings - both having been adopted as babies to separate families when their parents were killed in a car crash. They later met at a university party and bonded over their similar backgrounds. The unnamed doctor added: "The husband said that a lot of people remarked on the fact they shared the same birthdays and looked similar to each other, but he said it was just a funny coincidence and that the couple were definitely not related." The pair are now said to be re-considering their future together. http://preview.tinyurl.com/nyor8k8 Posted by: RickZ at April 16, 2017 06:12 AM (zlQMj) Posted by: Thomas at April 16, 2017 06:14 AM (k0vjy) 18

31. Skip the more I think about it, in some ways you are correct, and others you are off. True, no bomb/missle will hit the US. However the NK are entrenched just north of Seoul, and have enough of the city in artillery range to do lots of damage, and worse to create panic in the city. I know that air support can take it out, but they can still do alot of damage. Japan is in proven range of the short range missles, and again can be taken out, but how much damage can they do. I am backing Trump to the hilt on this, because this situation has not gotten any better since Clinton signed his treaty. I an just hoping that a NK General is on the side contemplating a promotion and is sane.

Good Sunday morning, Hordelings! He is risen! He is risen indeed. I owed a debt I could not pay. He paid my debt which He did not owe. Was it a morning like this?
The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 28: 1-7 tells us that after the Sabbath, at dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb of Jesus. There was a violent earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee." There you will see Him. I've picked some Easter Worship songs for you, following in a post below. I'm going to Easter sunrise service, then the main service, then brunch. Have a blessed Easter. For God so loved the world that He gave His Son. What wondrous love is this? ---------------------------------- Posted by: grammie winger - alleluia! at April 16, 2017 07:00 AM (lwiT4) 48

I still find peace and comfort in hymns. Posted by: April, not of the giraffe variety at April 16, 2017 08:16 AM (e8PP1) Posted by: Count de Monet at April 16, 2017 08:16 AM (JO9+V) 107

Posted by: Tonypete This does not even rise to the level of a theological difficulty (such as whether substitutionary atonement is a valid ethical concept). The disciples thought that Jesus was going to institute a kingdom on earth at that time. They thought he would be another King David. Look up Simon Bar Kochba for an example of what their expectations would have been. When Jesus was executed, their hopes were completely destroyed, and they went into hiding so as to avoid being punished for being revolutionaries. john 20:3-9
3 So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb 4 Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first 5 He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in 6 Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. H saw the strips of linen lying there, 7. as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus' head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. 8. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) ---- I've always hoped that that was the Shroud of Turin that he saw that made him believe. I am not calling myself "esteemed" but here's my brief response. Women were at the4 tomb because women were amazingly faithful to Jesus and probably helped to fund his ministry, The Kingdom of the Lord as shown in the resurrection turned the Kingdom of the world on its head. The worldly kingdom did not give full dignity to women. Indeed, women were not allowed to be witnesses in a court of law . However, they were witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus and were in a sense the first evangelists of these powerful news. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at April 16, 2017 08:47 AM (fDdVG) 166

I found Project Gutenberg's "1811 Dictionary in the Vulgar Tongue", by Francis Grose. There are so many good words in there but I had to share a few:
ACE OF SPADES. A widow. MISH. A shirt, smock, or sheet. BUTTERED BUN. One lying with a woman that has just lain with another man, is said to have a buttered bun. MUGGLETONIANS. The sect or disciples of Lodowick Muggleton. NAZY. Drunken. Nazy cove or mort; a drunken rogue or harlot. Nazy nabs; drunken coxcombs. PEPPERED. Infected with the venereal disease PEGO. The penis of man or beast. As in "He has a peppered pego" MERKIN. Counterfeit hair for women's privy parts. See BAILEY'S DICT. LANTHORN-JAWED. Thin-visaged: from their cheeks being almost transparent. Or else, lenten jawed; i.e. having the jaws of one emaciated by a too rigid observation of Lent. FART CATCHER. A valet or footman from his walking behind his master or mistress. DILBERRY MAKER. The fundament TO BLOW THE GROUNSILS. To lie with a woman on the floor. FOGRAM. An old fogram; a fusty old fellow. Anyway, if you are so inclined, these and many more useful vocabulary building words may be found at Gutenberg. .. @143- Steve
Not my understanding. They did believe for some time that in this, His first coming (parousia), that He would institute His kingdom on earth. This may be part of the reason He is still rejected as the Messiah by some today. That's another discussion. But He explains in the first two verses of Matt 24 that no, He will not rule at that time, from that temple. It would be destroyed. He would be leaving. It sank in and the came to Him later, privately, and asked Him two questions; When would that happen? (destruction of the temple) What would be the sign of His coming and the end of the world? He skipped the first question. Starting in verse 4 he describes the seals being opened on the large scroll. Those seals are conditions that must be met before the scroll, which contain the first of God's judgements, may be opened. Any more and this will get willowed, if not already. Put Matt 24 alongside Rev 6. Best treatise on this is Marvin Rosenthal's "The Pre-wrath Rapture of the Church." Zion's Hope Inc Posted by: teej at April 16, 2017 09:09 AM (yBWAd) 206
Dear Richard Dawkins-Please read up on some answers to your theories on why Jesus wasn't resurrected:
http://tinyurl.com/5tsme8 Plus, it's a bit curmudgeonly to come on a board in which numerous people celebrate the day of resurrection and to throw a damper on it. Besides, it's not as if most people who are practicing Christians haven't heard those objections before. I do, however, acknowledge that you do go after Islam-sometimes. (And yes, I know the real Richard Dawkins is not paying the ASHQ a visit. ;^) Posted by: FenelonSpoke at April 16, 2017 09:11 AM (fDdVG) 207

I, for one, think that Richard Dawkins is nothing but an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato.

I knew it.
Willowed. What do we want? Our eschatology thread. When do we want it? Obviously not today. Posted by: teej at April 16, 2017 09:18 AM (yBWAd) 210

Oh, yes, here's Dr. Peter Kreeeft's take on the anti resurrection theories. Dr. Kreeft is a professor and a devout Roman Catholic:

Hey Horde ~ Happy Easter! He is risen, Hallelujah! Caught Vigil Mass at St Pat's last night. Truly lovely.
In other matters one of you lovely morons (sorry ~ i forget who) had the "problem" of too many eggs because of the woman next door with chickens, I believe. I could not dig out that flourless chocolate cake recipe ~ I believe my parents have it somewhere and they are retired to the hinterlands of Canada (long story ~ we are not Canadian in any way ~ they just loved it there) . So i looked up on line and found a very close approximation ~ It is this recipe made with polenta (which is like the one I originally used ~ I just don't use polenta). The recipe is here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/ recipes/moist-chocolate-polenta-cake-recipe (Remove spaces) And here is a white chocolate custard recipe similar to the one in the original ~ i\when cooking the custard leave it a bit more liquid than a normal thick custard as this is a sauce for the cake ~ th usual presentation is to "sit" the piece of cake in a bed of the white chocolate custard perhaps with a sprig of mint on the top or a few raspberries on the side ~ the cake already has white powdered sugar on top. http://simplygloria.com/ white-chocolate-custard/ (Remove spaces) This will use up 15 eggs (!!) ~ hope that helps with your "egg problem" Posted by: Publius Redux at April 16, 2017 09:31 AM (UOr6C) 215
