From her friend Roni today: "I really enjoyed my day today, spending quality time with Joyce. We shopped, we ate lunch, we chatted, we played a game. I have no talent for meeting people. Or talking with them. I have no trouble at all with public speaking and could easily give a speech before thousands before I could walk up to someone l don't know and say hello.
However, I hitched my wagon to a guy who is supremely social. Everywhere we go he talks to everyone, and they talk back. I had a semi-feral cat once that would bow up on anything, even me.
She wasn't afraid of anything. She would let you feed her, but when it came to brass tacks she would come at my dog or me with all four paws and didn't care till blood was drawn. After awhile she got used to us but even still she would get in her fighting stance when she felt uncomfortable. Like a kamikaze, she was ready to go down as long as she got her pound of flesh. Miley: I was reading about how the Qur'an, also, deconstructed Biblical literature. Emran El Badawi, "The Qur'an and the Aramaic Gospel Tradition".
Apparently the Syriac translation of the Lord's Prayer and (more so) the Beatitudes rhyme. This gave parts of the New Testament a rhetorical force that it never (directly) had in Greek The Syriac translator must have been a genius. No wonder Christianity spread like wildfire in the Syriac-speaking world. And then, well... the Muslims got into it and used the trick for their own dogma... 59 Miley: I was reading about how the Qur'an, also, deconstructed Biblical literature.
I was about to go batshit an hour or so ago. El-cheap under-the-counter fluorescent light. It was blinking and annoyed me. I looked and sure enough, I had some of the little dinky F8T5 tubes. Damn fixtures are so cheap, it makes me sick. The little sockets are a bitch, because they're so cheaply made. I get the old tube, one of two out, and I hear some plastic break. It was the el-cheapo starters. The damned cheap plastic had become so brittle, due to heat and or light so close that it just shattered. I'd say well shit. And I even had a couple of new starters. I go to try to take the old one out. Well, long story, but the damned socket, some el-cheapo Chinese made thing, wouldn't let the starter come loose. It's supposed to be simple. Just push it in, turn it a quarter turn, and it comes out. But no, it was stuck. At that point, I was in to it, because the starter was shattered and wouldn't work. So I had to take the damn fixture down. I ended up having to destroy, completely, the starters, both of them, in order to get them out. The trouble was the el-cheapo Chinese sockets had a little catchy defect in the slots that would just catch the little posts and wouldn't let them turn out like it's supposed to. Before it was over, I was about ready to go running through the woods naked and screaming. But I fixed the damn thing. Somebody needs to go to jail for that, if not the electric chair. I guarantee you there's a Democrat somewhere who is ultimately responsible for it. Posted by: publius (not Breitbart publius) at April 01, 2017 10:33 PM (aKqWT) 98

The fittings are similar in size to the fluorescent set ups and they work much better. I have some that I bought at the local hardware store and they install with two Phillips screws, and run off of 110 socket. If I had to wire it into an existing wall switch I could wire it in with a couple of crimp connectors, easier that replacing the wall switch. Posted by: publius (not Breitbart publius) at April 01, 2017 10:46 PM (aKqWT) New LED installations are inexpensive for what they do. If you want to go higher end you can get LED replacements for your fluorescent tubes that fit right in the light fittings with no other modification. Except they are a little brighter and whiter. Buy higher end, the cheaper ones are kind of blue and do have a slight hesitation in coming on I have a friend who built on the the back of her house and they blocked the window over her kitchen sink making that end of the kitchen gloomy and dark. I suggested she put in the LEDs in the now blind window and she also put in stained glass into the window. I love that sort of installation. Posted by: Kindltot at April 01, 2017 10:55 PM (0hI48) 167

Two muslim cab drivers are arguing on the curb of of a middle eastern airport. It is loud, and unpleasant, and there's lots of drama, arm waving and insults. No blows are exchanged, but it is very overly dramatic. A while later, a muslim cab driver gets into an argument with an American. There is much arm waving, insults and drama on the side of the muslim. The American hits him and knocks him out. The muslim is stunned, since he never even thought being physically hit was an option. Miley, i've got a little 'its and it's' story to tell. it happened during our community's Big Read event, this year celebrating Emily Dickinson. The local public library put together a small (20 poems) coloring book of Dickinson to use during readings, so that we could color. Really, it's a thing. He goes into the history from the last 30 years, the blood and sex rituals, dozens of hard news. The military is involved. They say they have never seen anything. And the courts have been blocking and thwarting all efforts to prosecute. So it's elites who are evil pedophiles and sadistic murders vs. Our mulitray. Not a waste of time I promise. Sit on the cooler with the iced beers. Demand a "knock knock" joke from each person who wants another beer. Chat up the heavier persons. You'll present a smaller target when someone begins shooting up the gathering because they have no breakthrough socialization strategy. Go to the center of the room and loudly announce, "Hillary Clinton will never be President!" Step back and enjoy the donnybrook that you set in motion. The Royals look really, really good. For those who don't think that they can challenge Cleveland and Detroit in the Central, they are wrong.
It starts with the pitching staff and the bullpen. The coming-of-age of the offense plays into that nicely. Posted by: Slapweasel, (Cold1) (T) at April 01, 2017 11:36 PM (6gk0M) 248

Posted by: Zettai Ryoiki at April 02, 2017 12:01 AM (kP16F) 297
Slap, Denver has been Hell for pitching. In the higher thin altitude, the ball doesn't break as much as it does at sea level. They've done all kind of stuff to the balls like keeping them in a humidifier to get the ball to move more. Some pitchers adapt to it, and some don't.
I've seen pitchers that struggled at Coors Field go to other teams and do great. I can't say with any certainty, but I think a lot of that is mind set. There are pitchers that come into Coors Field, which is definitely a hitters park even with the big outfield, that can dominate. San Francisco *spit* comes to mind. A solid starting rotation, and a good bullpen are the perennial issues for the Rockies. Another thing with the Rockies are injuries. Tulo before he was traded, and Story last year are evidence of that. Reynolds at first was great then got injured, Story as short on a roll for rookie of the year, Para in left field, it really cost us games. Then you get Cargo and Nolan going hot, cold, hot cold and games that we should have won, we lose. Mostly the one run games when our closer comes out and gives up five runs in the bottom of the ninth. Gray is going to be good. For another team, probably...lol Same with Anderson. They also traded Daniel Descalso to the Diamondbacks, why, I don't know. The guy had a good bat and was a pretty good utility guy. The Rockies management are...inept. It's till the 1st of April in the United States and the Russian Foreign Ministry has made it one to remember. Anyone attempting to phone the Russian Foreign Ministry received a message that no one but the American liberal-left could take seriously. The message told callers: You have reached the Russian embassy, your call is very important to us. To arrange a call from a Russian diplomat to your political opponents, press one, to use the services of Russian hackers press two, to request election interference, press three and wait until the next election campaign. Posted by: yankeefifth **** As I have learned, there are some f**ktards who think having a gun makes them Superman. I lived this a little over a month ago. I did not know that a lane was closed due to an accident. So when I was unable to allow him to merge in front of me, he assumed I "cut him off". Yes, his actual words were that I cut him off. He persued me and tried to make me crash into him. At a stoplight he opened his pickup truck door, turned 180 degrees towards me, and demanded I get out of my car. Yes I believe he had a gun. Yet he was convinced his reaction could beat my action he was so angry. I have found many a person that thinks it is their God given right to sh*t on others and how dare they take exception to such a thing. Driving is the most dangerous/life threatening thing most folks do day to day.... I think that's why "road rage" is so intense so to speak. I will tell the whole story: Grab a soda!
So I was on Curry here in Tempe AZ. It goes from 3 lanes to two. I was in the far right lane and passing a white Cadillac Escalade in the middle lane. I suddenly notice the driver is slowly inching over into my lane despite being right next to me. Inch-inch-stop, inch-inch-stop. Finally I am forced to hit the brakes to avoid a collision. As I skid to a stop a jogger heading the opposite direction on the sidewalk stands on one leg and curls into a ball apparently convinced I am about to hop the curb and kill him. Miraculously I safely come to a stop 6 inches from said curb. I start to move forward into the middle lane (approaching the intersection) only to be cut off a 2nd time by the Cadillac driver. Again I slam on the brakes as they move over two lanes into the left turn lane. http://preview.tinyurl.com/m7wpaxf I too move into the left turn lane and I'm livid. Yes, I get out of my car (but stand next to it) and I'm telling her what I think of her and her driving when she gives me the finger. Yes, she actually thinks she has the right to give me the finger after nearly causing a fatal accident for no reason. Posted by: Tilikum Killer Assault Whale at April 02, 2017 02:53 AM (hVdx9) 536

Still $89, but by that time, I had no desire to look any further.Roads were good all day today, aside from the usual crazy-ass traffic in the SLC corridor. There was a metric fuckton of RV's and travel trailers northbound on I-15. Well, I have finished my beer, and I am real tired, so I'm going to hit the sack. Only about 9-10 hours driving to get home from here, and it looks like I will have fair weather for it.

All the best M-Goddess...really Darlin, Appreciate Your skill an effort.
TKAW.....I admire your restraint. Seriously... When other folks endanger our lives and getting angry about that makes a person the "violent" culprit....?!?! A WTF, sadly normal, situation..... I have a Go Pro so I can film the drunks, unstable, unable drivers that I encounter on the WV highways. All because if one of those mindless fucks end me....hopefully there's a record of Their Guilt. Sadly, I started doin the filming years ago, after I watched a car I followed hit a bridge pillar at 9:30am. Everyone lived, but were moderately injured. And the driver was shitfaced on painkillers. Fuck, he didn't even realize how mangled his left arm was, compound fracture etc..., even as we stabilised him. Sooooooo.....bad drivers are a peeve of mine. Frankly, certain vehicular actions/inactions should be classified as attempted murder.....via negligence at a minimum. Diatribe over.......apologies y'all. Logan was a pretty good flick, did El S offer his opinion on it in a past thread? ;-) Posted by: Hillbillyking at April 02, 2017 03:28 AM (QEVcq) 557

A cucumber is much like a watermelon. Our cats have always eaten watermelon., and cucumbers. But they don't care for raw celery. Cooked celery is fine, just not raw. They love okra stewed or fried as well as boiled peanuts.
