Sam Kinison was a genious, and was right about love.
I saw him in concert in Peoria, IL. My then-girlfriend bought the tickets as a birthday present for me. Since Kinison was a native of Peoria, he had some local color to his jokes -- specifically about the girls from her hometown. At the end he invited everyone to meet him at Steak and Shake. Valentine's Day is for people who have connections. For those of us on the outside it is a cruel joke.
There was actually an article posted (from somewhere else) on Free Republic about a decade ago about the difficulty of getting a date if you are a conservative. As far as I'm concerned, my best hope for love would be the utter and permanent destruction of the Democrat Party. So rather than try to thread the needle and get some woman to barely accept me--that is, until some Democrat whispers in her ear and turns her against me--I will instead treat the Democrats as my personal enemies in the hope that someday they won't be around to sabotage my love life. "Back in the early-to-mid 1800s, 'wife selling' offered itself to many Brits as an easier and less costly alternative to a traditional divorce."
Fortunately, we here in 21st century America have progressed far beyond such primitive arrangements. Actual contemporaneous Craigslist ad, verbatim: "I have a 4wd Jeep Cherokee. Its is dully loaded and has a which attached to front ranch hand bumper and grill gaurd. It is on a 4 in suspension lift and a 6 inch body lift has 35 mud grip tires(1200) witch has only been on it for two months. The truck only has 48,000 miles on it. i am looking to trade it but I looking for certain things only. I don't need it but its paid for so O don't have to sell it. Now here is what I am looking for. A lady (preferable married to how wants the jeep) she mist be 18 to 50 and fit. I give you the jeep and you leave your wife with me for a week. When you come pick her up she have the signed title to the jeep. So if interested send me several photo of the wife and I get right back to you. SpaceX conducted a static test fire of the Falcon 9 at Launch Complex 39A on Sunday. The video was taken from several miles away through a telephoto lens, which is why it looks wiggly.

Unfortunately 90% of the ladies of gen X and gen Y don't know shit about love. Soulless depraved sex? why yes they know and perform lots of it.. Love. Nope no clue.
Hell at this point I'd take the ex allowing me to be a dad as a sign of love, but she refuses to do that after 5 years. The kids are like tin beggers cups she uses to attract her second and third and fourth sources of income. Meanwhile over 200 grand trying to get the experts and lawyer to punch back. Love would be leave me the Fuck alone I have not done a damn thing let me be a dad, but no. It's the feminist mantra from the late 60's. Kill the father not the Mother. Night Hordelings. enjoy the sanity And feel the love (this is encouragement and not sarcasm btw). Posted by: Widespread Pepe at February 14, 2017 09:55 PM (LiqBV) 120

A Valentine's Day Joke:
An artist, accountant and engineer are sitting at a bar discussing wives and girlfriends. The artist insists wives are of no use, that everyone needs a girlfriend to keep the passion alive. The accountants insists that only by having a wife can one know the true stability and predictability that can be found in a lasting relationship. The engineer looks that them and insists that both a wife and girlfriend are a must have. When you have both, each will think you are with the other and you can the spend all night at the office. The gnomes of Redmond buried Cortana so deeply in the source code of Win10 that I'm not sure how to rip it out without crippling the entire operating system. (This is by deliberate design. To send back tons of silent telemetry on who you are and what you're doing and watching and saying. As Apple and Google already do with their respective OSes.) I'm currently trying to enlist the services of the Microsoft Office animated paper clip who they previously fired, to see if it's got any inside dope on how to get rid of Cortana. I'm sorry to be the pissant on this Valentine's Day. Please forgive me for me for going off topic.
Events of the last month have convinced me that it's time for a national divorce. I go back to the poor special needs guy who was beaten up last month, had part of his scalp cut off, forced to drink dirty toilet water. Why? Because he was a Trump supporter. I've never seen riots in DC on inauguration day - violence, cars burning, windows smashed. The riots in Berkley - tonight on Tucker Carlson I saw that one of the people responsible for this was unrepentant, and she continued to call for violence against fascists. That didn't shock me. What shocked me is that she was A MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER. And this 'controversy' with Flynn shows me that members of the Shadow Government are more willing to compromise their own nation if it serves their interests. Trump hasn't even been in office for a month. Posted by: Mike at February 14, 2017 10:29 PM (c056A) 266

quartz crystals for accurately tuning radio transmitters, and not any other kind of crystalline substance. Got that, Officer Stedanko? Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon" I used to have a bunch of crystals from 2 tone pagers laying around, but lord knows where they are now. If you ever watched the show "Emergency!", you'll remember when the announcements would come over the PA for a call, they would be proceeded by 2 tones playing. Sometimes several combinations, depending on what units were being signaled. These 2 tones would trigger pagers to turn off the auto squelch circuit so the message could be heard by somebody wearing one. Posted by: AshevilleRobert at February 14, 2017 10:31 PM (w+Jhj) 272

Prayer request
I am having auditions for a show tomorrow. It's a Lenten drama about Judas and Peter. I only need two men. If people could pray that two men show up to audition if it's God's will that would be great. It's a very powerful show. I'm just not sure I advertised the auditions enough. I'm feeling a little disheartened because I had hope to get a drama ministry started at another church and although the pastor and several board voted yes, the rest of the church wouldn't agree to fund it . Ww were not talking about a huge amount. This one I am not getting funding for. This church has no money, but the pastor-the sweet seminary student- is in support of me doing it. Thanks very much. In further TR6 adventures, I got the wiper pivot bezels and windshield squirter nozzles installed, after much travail. Tried to figure out why the alternator quit charging after I changed the ignition switch, and it seems to be the case that the infernal regulator in the Lucas alternator chose this time to baff out.
So I removed the internal regulator, and rewired the alternator to bring a direct connection to the field out the rear of the case. Feed 12 volts to the field connection, and the alternator puts out plenty, so that pretty much condemns the internal regulator. I bought a Mopar single-unit regulator at Auto-zone, and will make that work. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at February 14, 2017 10:43 PM (WDdjT) 314

The easiest thing to do is to look for a LiveUSB or LiveCD version that, once you install it to CD or USB stick, will allow you to boot up your computer into Linux without changing anything on your current setup. When I did it, I downloaded it and burned it to a DVD, which I cannot now find. But I installed tje DVD, booted the computer to Linux from the DVD, and played around with it. Decided, "hey, this isn't hard!" Came to the boot screen again, and chose "wipe hard disc and install Mint as only operating system", and pushed "yes". (this was on a used computer with none of my data on it). You can also tell Mint to partition the hard drive, and install itself to the new partition, giving you a dual-boot option with your old OS. You can also put Mint on a thumb drive, if it is big enough. Make sure you enable a boot from from a USB port in your BIOS settings. ONT: Lonelyhearts Edition
Back in the 70's and early 80's, a local radio host here (who was quite a character) hosted a radio show on Saturday evening called Desperate and Dateless. If you were brave enough to call in, he would fix you up with somebody else who called in, just to see what would happen. Marriages resulted from this, but also some truly hilarious descriptions of disaster dates, although I don't recall anyone actually coming to blows or engaging in gunfire. The show lasted about three hours and was NEVER boring. Now we date on our phones. Not nearly the fun nor the entertaiment value for everyone. I've never been so glad to be happily married. ![]() Posted by: tcn in AK at February 14, 2017 11:22 PM (cm1Bl) 467

Found something unusual in my mailbox today.
I live in an apartment complex. As is typical for complexes, the mailboxes are locked. You get a key to your own box, and the person who delivers the mail gets a key to the all of the boxes. So no one else gets access. There was a book in my box today. Glancing at it suggests that it was published by the Seventh Day Adventists. No address on it, or anything like that. So it wasn't mailed specifically to me. In short, it appears that the Seventh Day Adventists are arranging to have this little book delivered to everyone living within the area. Has anyone run into this before? This is the first time I've seen something like this. Pamphlets and post cards, sure. But those also always have Mail To addresses on them (even if it only says "Resident"). There's an Adventist couple in the complex that I'm on good terms with. I might ask them about it the next time I see them. Posted by: junior at February 14, 2017 11:38 PM (nsZ+m) 500

My Dad used to run OS2.
There was an interesting game made specifically for that operating system called Galactic Civilizations. The company that made it, Stardock, ended up jumping over to Windows after OS2 more or less disappeared. They're doing decently well for an indie publisher. They also made a bit of a splash on the SJW radar after one of their former female employees accused the head of the company of sexually harassing her. But it went to court, and she didn't win.
Posted by: junior at February 14, 2017 11:38 PM (nsZ+m) Located behind my townhome is the Scientology Community Center. Once its doors opened, I started receiving mail from them. And no, I did not ask to be put on the mailing list. Posted by: I Be That Chick at February 14, 2017 11:42 PM (S/qwI) 508

Rough collie story. Megs the Virtuous was shepardess at Mt. SAC college for five year. When she started, the sheep were uncooperative, and would run to the bottom pasture when he came to feed/vet the. She requested Tamarack, our collie bitch, but completely untrained with sheep (never'd seen one in her life.) The first morning, Megs took her into the fields and ran a sweep with her, driving the sheep into the barn. The next morning, she set the dog into the field alone, and Tam drove the sheep. The third morning, the sheep only needed to see the collie coming, and ran to the barn. God actually has given the animals the light they need.

For those of y'all who've been around the blogosphere a bit longer than a Setter's attention span, a bit of bad news.
Connie du Toit, wife of Mr. Kim Du Toit, has passed away. http://pjmedia.com/instapundit/257288/ I've been friends with Kim and Connie since 2004, and have been their houseguest, partner on many a firing line and shared many an hour and pint, everyone gathered 'round the living room and enjoying conversations on a near-countless number of topics. Connie was a tremendous cook, great mother, prolific writer and very profound thinker. And a good friend, too. Kim has set up a GoFundMe account, to help with the breathtaking scope of the medical bills and final expenses. If anyone has a connection with Bill Gates or some other zillionaire, well, it'd help, about now. Prayers of course, for all the Du Toit family, too. Yes, it's especially important to pray for our atheist friends... they need the extra help in that regard, I think. Especially in times of loss. Yeah for the German Shepherd! I had one for thirteen years and she was a holy terror. I'd tell her to do something she didn't want to do and she give me an argument, grouching and complaining just like one of the kids. She watched me landscape my backyard, landscaping fabric, lots of pretty bushes and enough mulch to sink a battle ship. The minute my back was turned, she ripped every strip of landscaping out from under the mulch and tore it to shreds. Never did get it back together properly. I only asked one thing of her -- look like a proper German Shepherd when it counted, and ,boy howdy, did she.

But, we have the mystery of apparently unauthorized religious material getting into a locked box. Maybe the 7th Day Adventists stole the key for the box... Seems unlikely. Maybe they picked the lock. 30 years ago, I bought a shiny new Ibanez acoustic guitar thinking I was going to be a rock star. After a few years of trying, I realized that I wasn't even as cool as NY's naked cowboy, and gave up. But, when I paid for & took lessons, the guy said "bring me one song you want to learn to play. I'll teach you that song." I took him my Dire Straits cd and played Romeo & Juliet. About an hour and a half, you know. And you know what, we enjoyed it all -- especially scenes of our ol' bud, Frank Z I'd never seen. I think Trump needs to start dealing with the Deep State and to that end needs to go on national TV and start naming names. Because it appears that the deep state along with the donks and their willing accomplices in the GOP are attempting a coup. Information is now coming out that multiple people in Trumps campaign were being surveiled by the intel community during the campaign in an effort to either entrap them or blackmail them. The word for camel is right above another word in the next line that has a dot in it. And that that dot is what changes the "rope" into "camel". Which makes more sense.
