Steve Bannon: The Media Is the Actual Opposition Party and It Should Just "Keep Its Mouth Shut" Until It Figures Out Why People Hate Them

Yup.

Not really a lot to add there.

Except this.

Say what you will, but it's hard to imagine another President doing this to a reporter's face.

11 "So we - our two countries together - have a responsibility to lead. Because when others step up as we step back, it is bad for America, for Britain and the world," May told members of Republican Party at their retreat in a speech often punctuated by applause from an enthusiastic crowd.

"This cannot mean a return to the failed policies of the past. The days of Britain and America intervening in sovereign countries in an attempt to remake the world in our own image are over. But nor can we afford to stand idly by."

Following her speech, UKIP's Nigel Farage tweeted that "I can hardly believe Mrs May's words about our place in the world and with America. I've wanted all of these things for years" and added that the PM said "things that I could only ever have dreamt that a British Prime Minister would say."

Christians are MUCH more forgiving than the Left. Partially because they acknowledge the fallen state of man and that we all, in the end, are pretty awful. What MATTERS is what you do NEXT.

If Trump is the guy to save those lives, then he is the guy. Doesn't matter what he did before.

198 The media lives in a hermetically sealed bubble, with only like minded fellow travelers inside. Oh sure, they all came from but the past decade has taught them that Crazy Uncle Whomever should be disregarded, so even family and upbringing get ignored as backwards and provincial. They can't change because everyone around them thinks they're right and doing the right thing.

They'll have to be defeated or replaced.

255 I'll wait and see what happens. I appreciate a lot of the things he's done, don't care for some other things. Each week I plan on writing an assessment as honest and objective as I can about President Trump, trying to step back and keep four things in mind:

1) How would I have reacted if Obama did this?
2) Is this constitutional and does it move toward a goal of limited government?
3) Is this something a righteous leader would do?
4) What is the motivation and purpose of this action?

For instance: proposal to charge Mexico a huge tax; not fond, and a bad approach to the problem, but fulfilling a campaign promise and consistent with his trade approach.

Re-instituting the Mexico City policy; good but why is he doing it? Is it more about defunding Planned Parenthood or about abortion? In the end, does it matter why?

Spokesman saying stuff about alternate facts: lousy, bad wording, and while I understand what he was trying to say, just imagine if Carney or Josh Earnest would have said that and how many 900 word articles about truth and meaning we'd get from Ace on it.

I want to be the way toward this president I wish the left had been toward Obama. I want to be consistent, logical, and just.

Yes. For evidence go visit the KosKids. Unbelievable. It is like their foundation turned out to be made of sand it is all washing away and they are scrambling furiously to find anyplace to hang onto. Something. Anything at all.

I think that Obama was such a weak leader that the only thing that could have prevented their collapse was Hillary winning and shoring up their denial for another four years.

Since all Obama left behind was an ephemeral legacy of failure, the facade has washed away faster than any of them could ever have expected.

The innate clannish tribalism of the human animal will find an outlet.

The trick is to find appropriate, useful, constructive outlets rather than a destructive, hateful ones.

Nobody's mastered that yet. The Constitution is about as close as humanity's gotten, so far.

Absolutely. I've posted it before but what the hell. I wasn't joking last week(s) when I suggested to Ace he ought to start a youtube channel.

After Ace gets 5000 subs (subscribers in yootoob lingo), companies will send him all kindzzz of free swag in hopes he'll pimp it on his channel.

Plus, ad revenue sharing!

Ace has almost 60K followers on twitter! He will easily have a successful youtube channel.

Ace, You CANT AFFORD NOT TO HAVE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!

All that federal law asks of local police is to cooperate and turn over anyone suspected of being an illegal alien. It doesn't ask local cops to become ICE agents.

As far as turning a blind eye to crime well I doubt it but we'll see.

But if nothing else read that first paragraph again and tell me that it doesn't say that Miami will now comply with federal immigration law so as not to lose federal money per Trump's Executive Order.

Here's what's gonna happen:

An illegal alien (probably more than one) will come forward and admit I Voted Illegally For Hillary Clinton.

It wouldn't take much to find one and buy him/her off to tell the truth.

In fact, I'll bet I could easily get several illegals to admit they voted (with proof) if I offered $1000.

They have nothing to lose, really, and they'd gain $1000.

551 349 Many on the left ARE having a literal, clinical psychotic breakdown like coffee shop girl, Joss Whedon, etc. Its awful to watch in real time. I do not drink the tears of my enemies, its painful to see their horror and agony. I hope that, in time, they can heal and begin to see the world the way it really is. I am not sanguine.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at January 26, 2017 06:59 PM

Christ said we would always have the poor among us. He could have said we would always have the clinically insane among us. The left has chosen identity politics, not me. Last nights Open Blogger post solidified my position.
Understand that healing and unity are not in the cards. This is not an ideological struggle between one people. The mask has been removed and the veil has been withdrawn. What cleaves the USA is an identity conflict between rival nations competing for power over one another. Peaceful unity is no longer a possibility and the best that can be hoped for is a wary, short-term cessation of hostilities that will inevitably flare up again.
