Thanks to all the coblogs here at the HQ, for the morning threads! It's all good: Progressives are about to be forcibly ejected from government, hopefully never to return. Next targets: academia and the media. Oh wait, I think the Style Guide says that's supposed to be "fucking media". Sorry.

Willowed in the last thread:
3 The DNC is still trying to lay off the Democrat disaster on Comey. They still refuse to recognize that their Party and Scankles had dug themselves into a hole since Obama was elected. http://fxn.ws/2jGVXa3 Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at January 14, 2017 05:56 AM (mpXpK) There is some cognitive dissonance going on here. If Obama was really their Reagan, as they believe, then they should have had their Bush-Dukakis smack down at the end for his handpicked successor. Reagan literally could have pointed to a ham sandwich and said "This sandwich is a fine sandwich, and of all the current candidates, will best carry on my legacy of limited government." The sandwich would have won 40 states- including California. There is a difference between real, feel it in your bones popularity and polls. Reagan made people change how they thought of themselves and their country in a good way- and never took credit for it himself. "You did this" he said in speech after speech. He believed in the fundamental decency of the American people. Obama is continuously telling people who they are and what they feel, but it is always in a cajoling way. "This is not who we are." "This group of people feels this." Anything good was quickly co opted as one of his shining achievements, with no pointing out the brave men and women who might have done the heavy lifting. Not that there was that much to brag about. He is a failure as a leader and an inspiration. Real leaders inspire people to feel something positive in themselves. Obama's only claim to fame here is that if you voted for him, you did not feel racist. Belief in a negative is not enough. Posted by: Aetius451AD at January 14, 2017 08:14 AM (92kX2) 14

It would be pretty hard for him to sell the house unless he had full ownership prior to your dad's death. ===== Executors pull this nonsense all the time. A bank officer literally grabbed the keys out of my elderly cousin's hand two days after her mother died. We ended up hiring a criminal lawyer, which intimidated the bank enough to stop their own intimidation. Relatively inexpensive, and kept things civil so that she could move (which she wanted to do in the first place) and remake her life. My recommendation of the criminal lawyer was to get someone from outside the clubby little estate/banking game. Brother Cavil - Oh no! What a crappy thing to do! Is your brother the executor? If so, do you still have certain rights as to the way the property is handled? This seems awfully, awfully quick. Brother's wife's family is going through the same sort of crap. The executor is playing fast and loose with the aunt's property because the will was poorly written and the executor, not a family member, is not living up to his fiduciary responsibilities. The heirs have been told it is very difficult to break a "valid" will in Virgina, but they have decided to legally pursue the executor for malfeasance even if they lose money in the legal fees required to do so. IANAL, but it behooves members of the Horde to think about the succession of their property and tangible goods and get it written down. Brother Cavil,
Was there a will? In that case, it makes no difference what your brother did. If there's no will, then it's lawyer time and both lawyers and the state will gobble up a big share. Perhaps that can be used as a lever. Give your brother a choice to fight in court and lose what was paid or give you say 70% since you were there taking care of your father and he can walk away with a clear 30%. If you don't want to fight...then don't. Though my folks left a will, there was still plenty to fight over. The lovely and intelligent Mrs naturalfake suggested we simply not engage in that nonsense to keep good relationships with my sibs. And, of course, she was right. It's a different matter if you need the money however. If so, have a lawyer draw up a letter to your brother outlining your demands and stopping the sale. Then it will simply depend on how long the nonsense goes on as to whether you both get some significant money or give it all to the lawyers and the state. Sorry, you have to go through this. One of the things that bothers me about the whole DNC and Hillary-Server hacking affair is this:
There has been, as far as I know anyhow, zero mention of any encryption on these emails. Surely The Secretary Of State of The United States wouldn't be sending official business emails without encryption - right? Only a moron would do that. At the printing shop where I work, one of our customers is a pet cemetery. They order two types of tags, "Private" and "Simple".
It was explained to me that a "Simple" cremation is done with several animals, and the ashes are comingled and partitioned out to the pets' owners. A "Private" cremation involves just one particular pet. Obviously, a "Private" cremation is more expensive. The room always gets a little dusty when I receive an order for those tags. A school nurse, who works in the anchor baby education/day care center my kids recently escaped, has been suspended and probably will be fired for saying in a Facebook post that illegal aliens from Mexico should go back to Mexico. (Two other teachers in the same district were recently let go for making similar comments in favor of Trumps immigration stance)The outrage, hysteria and fainting by the compassionate, diversity loving crowd, none of who have kid in this third world "school" is a wonder to behold. They will gladly destroy this country and my kids future so they can portray themselves as compassionate and tolerant..
Bigger point is not one of these comments were said in threatening way to kids, just stated as a matter of opinion. Not that this is a surprise but we have arrived at a point where it is dangerous for citizens to speak their opinion openly, even if just for enforcing the law. Meanwhile illegal aliens can run roughshod over the taxpayers and openly demand more benefits and school resources at our expense but they face no danger whatsoever of any sanction or deportation for their fraudulent acts. Living in the shadows? BS This is how you got Trump and in my opinin no action he takes against illegals can be severe enough. Sick of this shit and just hope it is not too late. You say the last appraisal was a couple of years ago? In Illinois, a real estate appraisal must be done after death, and within 30 days. One of the first things we had to do was get an appraiser out to the house. It has to be valued as to what it is worth at the time of death. The executor is responsible for that. No, I'm not exaggerating. It's a terrible way for humans to communicate. Those things they call twitter swarms are aptly described, because humans are by nature, violent and irrational. Giving more of them an avenue to congregate is not going to end well. We're going to have real blood. I mean, more of it than we're already seeing. This is going to get ugly, and twitter is a major element behind it. If... and frankly I think it might not be possible, but IF there is a way to head it off, it's with mature, intelligent communication. That horrible outlet just feeds the frenzy. Probably stay away from the TV next weekend....I'll not want to see the shit show that will be happening in the streets. A lady called Rush yesterday about if she should go with her family. They have tickets...Rush seemed kind of hesitant about if she should go...especially with children...She is worried about all that will going on in the streets. I'd expect some windows and cars burned, and lots of tear gas.

In the waning days of Pres. Barack Obama's administration, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) released a "National Near-Earth Object Preparedness Strategy" last week. The strategy outlines major goals the country will have to tackle to prepare to meet the NEO threat, signaling that some leaders are taking the danger more seriously. Whether the U.S. government is willing to put significant funding behind such efforts, however, still remains to be seen. "This has been something that for years was more or less a laughing matter," says William Ailor, an Aerospace Fellow of The Aerospace Corp. The White House report shows that there is high-level interest in the NEO threat, and that even if incoming NEOs are not among the most likely threats we face, the consequences of an impact could be dire. "It's a good thing to keep your eye on," Ailor says, and the new report "brings reality home."

Media reporter Jack Shafer asserts that the sheer volume of anti-Clinton reporting from tabloids, Fox News and Breitbart was just too much for Democrats to fight effectively during the course of the campaign.
Shafer acknowledges that no one really reads tabloids like The National Enquirer and The Globe, citing the fact that Enquirer only has a weekly circulation of 342,071 issues, down significantly from the publication's height of 5.9 million issues during the 1970s. "But that misses the importance of the constant cultural background noise it adds to American life," Shafer argues. "There are 37,000 supermarkets in America, with an average of about 10 checkout stands each, and many stands feature a wire rack displaying the Enquirer, the Globe, often the company's other tab, the National Examiner, and celebrity magazines." Who knew that Fox News, Breitbart, The National Enquirer and The Globe were so powerful ? ... even more powerful than ABC, CBS, NBC, msNBC, CNN, HLN, New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, SF Chronicle, etc. etc. etc. yada yada yada ? Posted by: Sebastian Melmoth at January 14, 2017 08:36 AM (IDPbH) Yet, these are the people who demand that THEY love America and it is we who hate it and are trying to destroy it. Funny, as we evidently have been trying, unsuccessfully, to destroy it for almost 250 years. Their "love" of country based solely on the ability to legislate free shit. Yes. Time for a f**king divorce. Posted by: Deplorable Flyover 98ZJUSMC at January 14, 2017 10:52 AM (Pd7Sl) I have work colleagues who make silly statements about what Trump is going to do, and breathlessly declare with confusion written on their faces "if they repeal the ACA, what are they going to do???" I can't even argue with these people. They're like children. But they aren't bad people, and they don't hate America. I'm fine with having them on the other side of the political divide. It's the BLMs and the let's let in all the illegals we can crowd and everything Obama stands for that are the America haters. There's a hardware tech standard, 2 levels of billing and inter-operation data standards. It's run by various State (toll roads) and local (bridge) agencies. The actual operations are run by contractors mainly ACS. Any fines, speed policies, etc. are set by the relevant State agency. >>Media reporter Jack Shafer asserts that the sheer volume of anti-Clinton
reporting from tabloids, Fox News and Breitbart was just too much for Democrats to fight effectively during the course of the campaign. Aaaaand this is EXACTLY the MSM strategy used against the GOP for years. Heck, John Nolte identified and wrote a column on the Tabloidzation" of Palin in 2008, and provided a detailed list of the ways the MSM daily painted Palin and her family as a rednecky mess --- all while giving Obama and family reverent, respectful coverage --- with the strategy of having people not remember one single thing that made them think poorly of Palin, but just the general sense that she and her family are a circus freakshow, not our kind, would just be too much to invite that crazy into the WH. That's the point of merging the media with the entertainment industry during campaign season - you get this blurring of coverage between the so-called serious news media + SNL/Daily Show/late night shows + Vanity Fair/People/EW/Nat'l Enquirer, etc. where one feeds off the other, creating a 24x7/no escape overall message.
