The Unbearable Unbearableness of the Adult Baby Left

Noemie Emery notes you've seen all their coordinated group emoting rituals before.

A month after the surprise election of Donald Trump in November (surprising to noone more than to Trump and Clinton), the losers are still working through the stages of anguish in ways that seem strange to many observers but of which they appear oddly proud.

"Oddly proud" is exactly right. Rather than be ashamed of this unhinged, lunatic hyperemotionalism, they are oddly proud of it -- their Sadz and Feelz signal that they are of the bien pensant class.

Not only do they brag of the length and intensity of their bouts of sobbing -- "crying as if someone died" was a common description -- but, as New York magazine reported days later, professional women all over the country are making a brave stand to protest Trump's election by doing hideous things to their hair. Because "the election results felt like an attack on minorities, women, and marginalized people in general," a "vegan chef" cut her hair off to send Trump a "message." Others like her got buzz cuts, flat tops or tossed out their extensions, and went platinum, or black.

Unfortunately, there was not a chance in the world that this message would reach Trump, or that he would care if he got it, but somehow the logic of making themselves ugly in the interests of spiting a well-know connoisseur of feminine pulchritude just seemed the right thing to do.

"I don't know if it's that their right to choose could be in jeopardy, or that the glass ceiling is still there, but I'm seeing [a difference]" said one salon owner, who was making a fortune out of their wish to be hideous, and that was just the beginning of what Trump had done. ''My Libido: The First Casualty of Trump's Election," ran another lament in the same publication, and the Washington Post only days later took up the same theme: "Trump's election stole my desire to look for a partner," wrote one female blogger. "Once it was clear that Donald Trump would be president instead of Hillary Clinton, I felt sick to my stomach ... That urge to cling to my family while keeping our foundation strong didn't mesh well with continuing to date the man I'd been seeing ... I'm not the optimistic person I was on the morning of Nov. 8, wearing a T-shirt with 'Nasty Woman' written inside a red heart."

Read the rest -- she notes the left went into a similar conniption of Conspicuous Grieving after John Kerry's 2004 loss to Bush.

158 1980, 88, 92, 2000, 2004 were all similar, but the earlier it was, the smaller the circles in which this mania went on.

But people have already dug up various mad utterances from each election.

Differences include increasingly trivial MFM (biased the whole time, but more infantile now) and "social media."

Various lefty politicians and journalists and academics have called every Republican Presidential candidate since 1948 a "Nazi" or compared them to Hitler.

Very little of this is new, the volume is just cranked way up (and while the violence volume is not as high as 1968, it's higher than 2000).

The "InfoWars" of 1990 was a socialist professor's classroom.

It's very simple. The Russians hacked into the DNC (probably true), and released the emails they found there (maybe; Wikileaks says not). These emails showed that the DNC was tilting the scales of the Democratic Primary in favor of Hillary, over Bernie Sanders. This caused people to vote for Trump, because....because...um, I got nothing.

You ever notice that these New York papers/magazines always claim that there is some new trend sweeping the country? Now its extreme hair cutting to protest Trump. I remember a few years ago one of them talking about the new fad sweeping bars, Cornhole!

The comments on the article were priceless telling New Yorkers that those of us in flyover have been playing Cornhole for years at college football games and NASCAR races for years.

Education today is clearly in crisis. The contemporary university is no longer known for pursuing truth, but rather, for celebrating tolerance. And in the name of tolerance, we are told our intolerance is intolerable. Education's elites actually parrot this pablum, and they do so with a straight face. It is as if we are watching a dog chase its tail. It would be humorous if this self-refuting duplicity weren't so sad.

Prayers for you, and hey-it looks like American companies will be hiring now. I think they hunkered down over the last 8 years, and think it's safe to be in business again. Heck, if you are in construction, and are in the DC area, they are talking about building a bridge over 395 in Tyson's Corner. That will keep you employed for at least 10-15 years.
