The nub of the article in the link is that their utterly wrong, blinkered world view is that make Islamic countries economically viable and they give up the violence. So money, which Marxists revile will make them peace-loving. And oil money.

Their utter pig-ignorance and hypocrisy makes what's left of my hair hurt.

If we had an honest court system those cities that made those contracts could nullify them simply by declaring bankruptcy. But we found that the Obama courts would not allow GM to do that so I expect they will not allow the local governments to do it either.

34 Okay, I've got something but I'm not sure of how accurate it is.

A number of non-gubmint sites are reporting that our readiness status has been raised to DEFCON 3 (5 is the lowest status) and according to wiki, the gubmint does not publicize our defense status.

The last time the US was at 3 was at the start of the Gulf War; before that was during the Yom Kippur War. We were at DEFCON 2 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The color code for level 3 is yellow. Mom and I were at an AFB last week and she claimed to see that the level was set at 3. I didn't see it. She should know, having been going to AF bases for many years (dad was retired AF). She told me about it afterwards. And her vision ain't top notch these days.

So, does the Horde have any input on this? It would be, as Joey The Paste Eater sez, a big fucking deal. And Putin has been rattling his saber a lot lately, Iran's getting pretty frisky, the Norks ain't no slouches either.

If it has not been done already, I should attempt to write something about the conundrum of how honest, law-abiding people fight lawlessness using only legal means. Yep. There is absolutely no good reason for allowing the existence of government employee unions. Government jobs should be offered to applicants on a take it or leave it basis. The jobs pays X dollars and X benefits, period. If you think that pay or those benefits are inadequate, don't apply for the job. If you're hired, you have the same rights under the law as any other employee. You don't need, and won't get, a union to "protect" you from being disciplined or fired if you're incompetent, criminal, whatever.

The NY Post is perhaps the last relatively honest paper out there. That said, they cater to a more low-brow readership and so a big sports story about a city team will tend to be shoved on the front page despite whatever real news there is.

Still, if you want generally good or at least fair reportage, it's the only paper out there. And they have an excellent editorial page.

49 Here in the People's Republic of Nueva Yersey, you can work for the state for say, 3 or 4 years while you are in your twenties, and then collect a (albeit small) pension from the state once you reach retirement age. Also, you could go to work for the state at age 61, work for a year and retire at 62 with a (again small) state pension.

And they wonder why they're broke!

53 We are approaching the "accountability period" when polls will be judged against the actual vote. Expect the race to dramatically tighten. This should mostly erase the modelling bias (high D, college, youth sampling, based on 08 12 out of date sampling models). This won't erase the selection bias as contempt for media and inherent aversion to shame are keeping many Trump supporters from answering poll.

Expect polls to get close to even within 10 days of the vote (thereabouts). Expect a significant Trump victory.

Remember you heard it from Charles with a "C".

70 Not surprisingly, the MSM is attacking Trump for claiming the election is rigged and there will be massive fraud. The horror! This will lead to collapse of faith in our electoral system and undermine our democracy. Which totally different when Dem rant endlessly about supposed suppression of minority votes and the unfairness of voter ID laws.

Don't know why that even bothered me as the bias has become so over he top and blatant. It's like the MSM is searching high and low for any negative spin on anything Trump says/does and throws it out there and moves to the next outrage. It has become so ridiculous with a responsible, sane electorate this would be backfiring and losing massive votes for Hillary. But given that around 55% still give Obama approval I can see why it works.

Media has less of effect than other years (and maybe the opposite as media contempt so high among R and many I). Social media and alternative news is skyrocketing as public is starved for info.

As polls tighten I anticipate significant panic among Dems who have been relying on traditional news, telling them the race was all but over.

Even I forget that the thing to remember is polls are meant to influence public opinion, not reflect it. They won't begin to really tighten and be more in line with reality for about another week and half.

I posted last week about a Pew survey that listed what Americans feared most and number 1 was "corruption." I will mot make any predictions but if that is a true reflection of the state of mind of most Americans, Trump has the advantage.

Remember in 2012, the exit poll question was to identify which candidate is most like me/understands me. The result was SCOAMF 82% Romney 18%.

We shall see.

Part of why it works is that a large swath of the voting public don't see Trump as a "real" candidate, a real politician.

He doesn't belong there. So of course the media/left can say or do anything to discredit everything he does, much more easily because they already have a built-in reason.

123 Had a wonderful day yesterday with Fleet Week in Baltimore.

Spent the morning at the Airport, talking with friends, looking at the Blue Angels and the other aircraft on the flight line.

Then we went to downtown Baltimore to see the fleet, and watch the air show.

The Canadian ship was well received, and had a very long line to go on board and look around.

Zumwalt was tucked out at Locust Point directly next to Fort McHenry, and next to the other US Ships.

Water Taxi's were giving repeatedly incorrect directions to individuals trying to get there.
The City busses stopped shuttling people from the inner harbor to the Locust Point area three hours early.
And the general access to the pier areas to not visit, but to see the US ships closed thirty minutes early with no warning, and no effort to notify the pedestrians entering into the last 3/4 mile walk to get to the exclusion zone.

Little VIA was disappointed, but.....

returning to the Inner Harbor, he fell in behind the Canadian Sailor who was marking the end of the line to go onboard the Canadian ship(Which had also just closed), and when asked if he could still see go aboard, the very professional and polite Canadian Sailor said "I'm Sorry".

Little VIA immediately smiled, and with no rancor, but with good humor said "The whole trip was worth it. I got to hear a Canadian say "I'm sorry"

And yes, Little VIA knows several Canadian Morons in real life, and meant it in good grace and humor, with respect for their heritage, culture and the legendary Canadian politeness.

So all in all, not a bad day.

135 You can't in the end. Not if the lawlessness is rampant in the halls of the law.

--

I had TCM on last week and they showed one of those time filler reel-to-reel clips that would've been shown in between movies at the theater, likely from the 40s or 50s.

The theme revolved around what you could do with 5 cents. The gist was with that 5 cents, you could write a letter to your family and friends overseas, those who do not live in free societies but are under socialist or communist governments...and how you could spread the word of freedom and democracy in America.

At the end, the narrator said that the Constitution is the bedrock from which America derives its freedoms...and "rooted deeply" in that Constitution is the rule of law. It's what has set us apart from history's tyranny. Knowing how that truly no longer applies, it made me almost want to wretch. We've fallen so far.

I was going to post a little something on the origins of the term "Indian Summer", which is a uniquely American term. I found that other researchers a lot more wiser than me had already tried to track it down. They found its use in literature all the way back to the 1700s but could never pin it down to a specific time or person.

I don't know if such a video exists, but we do know Hillary has quite the potty mouth, and quite the temper. If someone has somehow managed to get one of her epic tantrums on video, especially if the target is a black person, that could do some damage.

But I am not hopeful. Seems unlikely that anyone would be able to get such a video, given how surrounded by SS and other flunkies Hillary has been for the past few decades.

The could have cut it from the Medicare Part D prescription drug program. That program pays out billions of dollars every year to subsidize prescription drugs for thousands of illegal aliens.

They could also have cut it from the IRS budget. The IRS pays out billions of dollars every year in phony "tax credits" to illegal aliens.

Yeah, it's great to blather on about the Constitution but-

the constant message of the Obama years is how horrible, racist, dysfunctional, and out of step with the behavior of "normal nations", and just plain nothing special America is.

Basically, America is the dangerous retard of the world neighborhood.

And many people now believe that.

Populism/nationalism is the path to get back to where the Constitution matters.

If America is nothing special, needs to be fundamentally transformed, then fuck the Constitution, right?

However, if America is something special and great, then the Constitution not only needs to be preserved,

it must be preserved.

But, for that to happen we need to win. A Hillary appointed Supreme Court kills the Constitution stone cold dead.

Sadly, Levin has lost every bit of the respect I once had for him.

275 Yesterday, i found myself listening to CNN in the background for about an hour.

I honestly now understand how people can be so pig-ignorant as to vote for Hillary if they listen to that all the time.

It, literally not figuratively, was a 60+ minute "Hate Trump, Hurrah for Hillary" session straight out of 1984 or North Korea.

Excuse me, it was a a 60+ minute "Hate Trump, Hurrah for Hillary" session straight out of 1984 or North Korea for particularly slow 5 year olds.

It was that obvious, childish, and stupid.

Honestly, I fear for my country when this kind of lame ass propaganda can influence millions.

I had to laugh at one point when they said the sexual assault accusations against Trump were more believable than against BJ Clinton becuz-

Clinton only had 3 accusers and Trump had 9.

Anyway, just lunatic, low IQ stuff.

But, apparently effective.

276 Four years ago we had Susan Rice going on every major network, telling lies about "that video" ... and Hillary lying about ... everything. Cover for their Benghazi problem.

Now we have several women lying about how terrible their experience was with Trump (even as their stories are proven false).

The media gives these Democrat women a platform where they are not even questioned, since it is wrong to doubt a woman.

Trump indeed is on record on the pussy grab, but he also said they LET him do it, and he started with kissing. AND Trump was almost giddy about how as a celebrity, the women were so willing. Does such a billionaire really not have to assault women that might then sue him?

Then it was Hillary and Susan Rice on ALL the networks, this year Hillary coordinated the bimbo eruption, more fake stories for the proles, to win an election.

(wait for laughter)
So now I am going to do what is best for America.
I, Donald J. Trump do hereby tender my resignation to the office of the Presidency of the United States.
This resignation is effective immediately upon the confirmation of Justice Ginsburg's successor.
Thank you, good night and God bless America!

- Trump wins election
- Enormous pressure on that dingbat RBG to resign.

302 Weekday mornings, I work out in the gym at a public university. I usually finish about the same time the ROTC's get in from their morning run, so we're in the showers at the same time.

This morning, I overheard this from between two shower stalls.

One guy: "This water is always too cold."
Other guy: "That's because you're a faggot."

Happy to see that the military/college PC-indoctrination is not 100% successful, and there are pockets of resistance.

Later on, a ROTC of Russian descent and a ROTC of German descent had a discussion about WWII with a ROTC who described himself (maybe tongue-in-cheek) as coming from a "Eastern European Jew and Roma" background. Their discussion would not have flown in any PC classroom, but it was interesting.

~~~~~
Yesterday, Wikileaks tweeted out three different codes, one each referring to John F'n Kerry, London, and Ecuador. Many people thought they were the dead man switches (to be activated upon Assange's death,) but apparently they were just warnings. Assange knew that a "state actor" was moving to stop Wikileaks releases, and yesterday's three tweets were codes for certain documents that Wikileaks has on Kerry, London and Ecuador that he was going to release if they moved to silence him. So, no doubt, Kerry is involved in this internet disruption. No surprise there---gotta protect the Hildebeast.
There are new reports today that the BIG DUMP has happened, but I haven't seen anything to that effect yet. And nothing from Wikileaks (the organization) on Twitter either. But I am pretty convinced that we will soon see a few documents with regard to the three people mentioned above.
The most important thing is the composition of the Supreme Court. Even now in King versus Burrell, they said that actual text of laws passed by Congress don't matter. So the legislative branch is gone - or is it? In the Obergefell decision, Scalia noted that SCOTUS is now a legislative body that does not have to answer to voters.
337 Anywho, after listening to CNN yesterday,
I've come to a conclusion about the polls.
Hillary can't seem to break 50%.
So, that means a lot of Americans, maybe the majority want to change the direction of the country and know that if Hillary wins, America doubles down on the stupid of the Obama years-
however,
they don't know if they want to vote for Trump, but they want a change of direction.
So, the Dims/MSM are trying to dump every bit of mud they can on Trump-
becuz if on election day, people think "Ok, I want a change."
then there'll be a YUUUGE shift to Trump and he will win.
But, if they find Trump to be the literally insane, molesting edit retard that CNN makes his out to be, then Hillary wins.
I'm guessing on election day the shift goes for Trump.
Not saying it was 24 hours, but that is generally how a "dead man's switch" for a computer works. If you don't log in within a set time period, it executes whatever program it's supposed to.
With Assange literally a "captive" in the Ecuadorian Embassy, no reason not to have it set at 24 hours.
Wouldn't want to give them weeks or months to hunt it down.
341 Yesterday, Wikileaks tweeted out three different
codes, one each referring to John F'n Kerry, London, and Ecuador. Many
people thought they were the dead man switches (to be activated upon
Assange's death,) but apparently they were just warnings.
343 I've come to a conclusion about the polls.
Hillary can't seem to break 50%.
So, that means a lot of Americans, maybe the majority want to change the direction of the country and know that if Hillary wins, America doubles down on the stupid of the Obama years-
however,
they don't know if they want to vote for Trump, but they want a change of direction.
Alternately: They fear retaliation. Exhibit A: The IRS. Exhibit B: This weekend's firebombing.
I have no idea what will set off a true backlash. I'd have thought it would have started already. I don't know whether to ascribe this to discipline, lack of awareness, or what at this stage.
They're 'checksums,' which are numbers derived from the contents of a file to produce a string of numbers (a 'hash').
If the contents are changed, the checksum will change/won't match. It's been used to show file authenticity, and its a way to make sure data wasn't corrupted in transmission.
These would be to prove that they are the data Assange sent, and wasn't altered.
And he was right. I told friends, we all rejoiced together.
Crazy, but so many know so little ... I watched a little of "24 Hours" (Keifer) and they have the woman president all in charge, making these great Iran deals. The leftist cabal has the networks and Hollywood ... and if any 'free thinker" dare listen to FOX, they still get trash.
Only Drudge or some blogs, some of Twitter, a few Facebook friends maybe try to intervene. These people claim 10% trust in the MSM or 10% support for congress, yet still mostly fall for the crap.
I still think Trump is the best man to break the cartel, or at least to fight it more than join it. But only if he wins. The huge media push now to declare Hillary the winner is partly to keep real patriots from coming out and blowing whistles. They know Hillary will punish them, but also know she will punish America if elected.
393 Ref "Indian Summer" : (from around comment 130 or so)
I think the explanation is 'Politically Incorrect' in today's world. It refers to a term that's now vanished, "Indian giver" meaning somebody who gives you something and then takes it back.
Which itself refers to an Indian custom that old-time White Men misunderstood:
An Indian who liked you might offer a special item of his (especially something crafted with care) to USE for a period. The whites thought that the item *itself* was being given to them, but the idea was more of a loan-for-use. (Something on the order of "I made this wonderful bow that shoots very far, and I've decorated it beautifully, with pigments from berries near and far; and ochers from across all the Three Great Valleys. Would you like to use my most-special bow for a while? It is a mark of tribute that I believe you will appreciate its beauty and its strength.") When the Indian came to reclaim his property after the loan, the whites were befuddled and confused and decided Indians weren't to be trusted; thus they were "Indian givers".
And it's THAT reference that explains what Indian Summer is: Once it freezes, it's winter, by golly! except that the Universe sometimes gives us a little more Summer to use, ... but it's just temporary. We can't keep it.
