5 Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, October 16, 2016. On this day in 1793 Marie Antoinette was beheaded on the guillotine at the height of the French Revolution. It was really a sad thing because she actually did nothing other than be the young wife of Louis XVI. The "let them eat cake" quote was actually BS. But that is what normally happens when revolutions occur. France underwent years of turmoil after all the "aristocrats" were murdered by the mobs until a tyrant arose to take over and plunged all of Europe into war. That is also what normally happens.

6 FBI interview summaries and notes, provided late Friday to the House Government Oversight and Intelligence Committees, contain allegations of a "quid pro quo" between a senior State Department executive and FBI agents during the Hillary Clinton email investigation, two congressional sources told Fox News.

That is mealy-mouth speak for bribery and the corrupt DOJ knew it which is why ALL the FBI investigators wanted her prosecuted. Even if the chickenshit Republicans will not impeach the Choom the least they could do is go after Comey and Lynch and then refuse to approve an appointment until, the asshole is out of office. But what will happen is nothing.

11 When is a "temporary" tax ever temporary? If you are in CA it is never. Moonbeam and his communist Party in CA will not be satisfied until the only employer in the State is the CA government. 12 WaPo/ABC poll has Scankles up 4% and they credit all the lies printed about Trump. It is a worthless nationwide poll of "registered" voters (which is newspaper speak for someone breathing) and their release contains no breakdown of the Party of those polled. So it is worthless all the way around. But I am sure the poll trolls will be out in force touting it. (more later)

20 So what are the latest State polls on RCP?

The latest is a NV poll which has Scankles up +2. In the 2012 election Shitforbrains beat Romney there by almost 7%. NV has become a hard blue State thanks to CA locusts and the casino unions. If you look at the election map the Choom won Reno and Las Vegas and Romney won the rest of the State. The poll bias was 43/38 but that is "fair". So I would say it is a dead heat but since NV is not really a tossup State it makes no difference unless Scankles does lose there.

Next on the list is NH which is also a blue State. It has Scankles up by +3% No breakdown of Dem/Rep given. Obama won NH by 5.5% in 2012. So why do the Repukes run this as a 2nd State primary?

Now this one makes a difference it is FL and a PPP poll which has Scankles up by +4%. They give Scankles a 3% tilt in a toss-up State. Obama won in 2012 by under 1% so that 4% should be reduced to 2% making it once again a dead heat. The last poll I checked out had Trump up by 2% in FL and PPP is a Democrat outfit so I am not sure how much credit I would give this poll.

The next poll of note is OH in an NBC/WSJ poll which has Trump up by +1%. So it is a dead heat as well.

Overall I would say that this election will be determined by how well the RNC works to prevent fraud in the urban areas in States like OH. But since Katshit has abandoned the Republican Party there is not much hope for OH.

37 Heard on news Pennsylvania driver license is not recognized as a valid ID by the US goverment. ( not sure why though) But you need one to get into Federal buildings and other things like that, so Pa. residents have to use a passport. They have been using extentions for a waver but that is going to end. But of course you don't need a ID to vote thanks to the Federal government's courts.

I posted a link on that yesterday. It is more crap from the federal bureaucrats in making regulations to enforce the unconstitutional "real ID act" that came out of the 9-11 whitewash. There is nothing wrong with the actual ID cards, it is the bureaucratic requirements that they claim the issuing authorities have to meet. And PA is not the only State on the list.

116 Protip: if you are cutting roots below ground with a reciprocating saw (which can be HUGELY useful), before you grab the saw, get a big drill with a suitably sized bit on it, and use that to open a path through the soil on either side of the root. Just large enough to pass the saw blade.

I've found you don't even have to get the loose soil out. Just break it up so the blade (which is typically flexible and floppy) won't bend as it tries to push through consolidated soil.

Oh, and wash the bit after it gets covered in moist soil.

119 Wife and I went to look at a new homes, for us anyway, two years ago. Our house is nice but like all of them, needed updating and a few other things would be nice too.

One of the things we found was that the homes around here that were built during the boom in the late 80's to 2000 or so, have not held up well. We remember looking at some of them in the 90's before we bought our current 80 year old home. We just could not afford a brand new home. Now if you look at them, they all need some major interior work done. The materials used during the boom were mediocre at best, as was the construction itself.

We stayed where we were. Put about 100 grand into and addition. It took 3 months, but I didn't have to pack up a house and move it!

125 Huh? We have topics here?
The real shocker is that we do in fact, from time to time, get a whiff of elitism.

There's a special knot for pulling logs around: The Timber Hitch.
It's not really a favorite of mine though. Main feature is that it's easy to untie and roll off the log, not such a big darn deal if you're only moving one. More important is making sure the rope is strong enough(!), it doesn't slide off, and that it's well-fastened to the pulling implement -- with an extra turn to relieve shock.
That zinging noise as the hawser goes past your head will make you think of headless carrier deck hands, every time.

Even if you don't want to put a skid under the whole log, just putting a slider under the leading end, or profiling that edge with the saw so it "floats" a little, greatly decreases the pulling effort and the snag-and-jerk factor. I like that car hood idea; it's "homey." Although car hoods when I was a kid were much better profiled for this task. My lawn, drag your logs off it.

So many people are afflicted with the Wandering Disease -- why bother, I'm moving up in 3 to 5 anyway, and no particular incentive to remain near family or in your home region -- that it's a laugher to even bring it up among the smart set. And you'll note, your wealthier and/or snootier sorts are always happy to increase the "land rent" burden, because it rewards those who have high current income as opposed to lasting investment.
"All you private property is target for your enemy -- and your enemy is me."

Suspect this arose in the deTocqueville era, when there was a great fear of the dynastic impact of inherited wealth. Property tax makes it all go away.

My late parent's house, built in 1927, had real oak floor joists, and real 2x4 poplar studs in the wall, on 12 inch centers. All that old wood was hard as rock. I cut a slot in one of the 2x4's about 40 years ago, to help my Mom install and exhaust fan in the bathroom. I broke two saber-saw blades trying to cut that notch in the old poplar.
Yes, that house will stand for a long time.

My house is all built with flimsy white pine studs and such. It is on a poured concrete foundation, but the framing is nothing like those old houses.
Some of the houses in my same subdivision (all built by Centex) have steel floor joists, which will also last forever.

151 My house is all built with flimsy white pine studs and such. It is on a poured concrete foundation, but the framing is nothing like those old houses.
Some of the houses in my same subdivision (all built by Centex) have steel floor joists, which will also last forever.

Some of those pine studs may even be spliced together out of 18-24" pieces.

153 Copper/iron, hmm. Big ol' cast iron pipe, on the drain side, is about as permanent as metal gets. But if you are cursed with galvanized steel, either supply or drain, yes get it the hell out of there. It is born with a yearning to return to its original elements.

I dodged a bullet with that polybutylene junk. Just at the time I was expanding and improving the "hydronic" heat, all the rage was for tubes buried in the slab. It has advantages. My dad had worked in an office building put up in 1950 that had gal-steel pipes in the slab, and they had rotted out, so, I knew better. And everybody was saying, this plastic is the way to go.

Some reason or other, I wussed out and just added more "fin" radiator footage, and a year or two later all that stuff happened in Texas, where they had to buy out a thousand or so owners, and Gulf Oil isn't in the soft-plastics business anymore. Lucky me I guess. There is a better product for that use now.

I did use PEX to split a heat circuit and improve control/capacity. It was great to work with (compared to copper), went places I'd have never reached without tearing out walls, and (counts on fingers) it's been about 20 years with no issues.

155 Good show....A close relative on mine had a house
built in 2002. Looked cosmetically fine. He sold it a year ago, and a
home inspector pointed out all the shortcuts that the contractor took
building the house. Or just plain cheap construction on a $300,000
house...sold for $179.000....and in a good area, with lots of open land
and farms around it. (Pennsylvanian)...

I bought a house from a doctor who built it. Cheapest white man alive. I wanted to replace some bricks on the patio and couldn't match the color, so I called him.

The Bastard used "test" bricks from the factory, none of them matched any color.

Can you believe that shit? The house is worth over seven figures and this bastard uses reject bricks.

If I was buying another house I would like to find out if it is/was owned by a "flipper" in the last 10 years. Seeing how they fix problems in a home by covering them up instead (like our gubmint) I think you'll be in for some nasty surprises in 5 to 10 years with one of those.

Moreover, they aren't responsible for what they DO report. If you are the seller, you will discover that the report may contain a buyer-scaring list as long as your arm, of things which are of no practical consequence.

LOL, reminds me of a friend of mine that bought a house two doors down from me that had cedar shake siding panels. It looked great but he had an Australian sheepdog. That dog would lay on his back next to the house and gnaw on those panels causing him to have to replace two or three of them every few months. He finally figured out it was easier to "replace" dog.

NeverTrump is a GOPe creation, to try to keep their base coming out but not voting for Trump. Essentially, a vote for status quo, with the Vichy Republicans able to enable the corporatists and share in the graft.

Unfortunately for the GOPe, I think a lot of their voters are more likely to vote for Trump and to weed out the quislings down ticket.

Are you talking about laying bluestone on the ground or some kind of thin veneer-type stone (or faux stone) on an elevated wooden frame?

If the former, there is nothing prettier or more durable if you can afford it. It is most critical to prepare the base properly before the stone is laid. Without that, your stone will give you problems. Best of luck with your project.

My youngest brother likes to take his 15ft camper down to a GA State Park near McCray, GA. What I have seen there is a hoard of northerners who come down in October every year to spend the Winter there in South GA. They permanently live in huuuuge motor homes and go back north in the Spring. They pull a golf cart and a compact car with them for traveling around the park or to town.

Yesterday's BookTV on C-Span featured Jack Cashill and his investigation on TWA 800, the flight that was blown out of the air by a missile in 1996, an election year for the Bubba Clinton. Naturally, they went into cover-it-up mode immediately what with it being highly embarassing to the adminstration that the US Navy had accidentally shot down a friendly with all aboard, 283, killed. 189 hurray ... taxes all done ... tomorrow is last day if you filed for an extension.

FOX on but muted ... they talk of the Trump women, then a lot of time on whether is it fair to talk so much about these women, then a little talk about how wikileaks gets overshadowed by the women allegations (even when proven false). But almost no time on the powerful evidence of massive collusion, fraud, in all levels of government ... pay to play even with foreign governments.

They barely discuss the actual content of Wikileaks. All media is on board with pushing propaganda and burying evidence that Hillary has committed several crimes that make her not just unfit, make her an enemy of constitutional America. 100 times bigger than Watergate, so they work 100 times harder at burying it with fake sex allegations.

But they pretend to maintain "fair and balanced", by comparing Trump allegations with Bill Clinton's (verified) allegations. (nothing on Hillary treason, coercion, high crimes, that would be unfair)

They all must think "global governance" will be grand, and will gladly provide the propaganda platform in our new world order. Covering up HRC crime will maybe get them some credit, or maybe they just get the Marie Antoinette treatment regardless.
