Oh, By the Way, Obama Looted the US Treasury to Make Illegal Payments to Insurers to Keep Obamacare Afloat, But Vote for Hillary Because We Need to "Save Our Party" or Something

I alluded to this in the post below but did not have a link. I just knew it from John Sexton.

So here's the reason you have nothing to fear from President Hillary, my friends.

The Obama administration failed to follow its own health care law by directing funds to insurers instead of taxpayers, nonpartisan government investigators said Thursday, chalking up a win for GOP critics and denting the White House's ability to satisfy insurers who are losing money under the overhaul.

The Affordable Care Act established a three-year "reinsurance" program to collect funds from participating insurers and then pay a portion to plans that took on costlier enrollees. Yet it was supposed to allocate some of its collections to the Treasury, too.

The administration projected it would take in $10 billion for reinsurance purposes and $2 billion for the Treasury in 2014, the program’s first year.

When collections fell short of estimates, the Health and Human Services Department prioritized payments to insurers over the Treasury, angering Republicans who said the agency put its contentious program over taxpayers, who got nothing.

That was illegal, that was incandescently unconstitutional, but seriously guys, we should elect Hillary Clinton to teach those low-class non-college-educated hooligans who want to replace the Presidential Seal with Pepe the Frog to ever fuck with our enlightened and benevolent power again.

I mean, Trump called an overweight beauty pageant winner overweight.

We can't have that. Not quite our class, dear.

Our media folks. The President gets caught doing something illegal and gosh, look, it's all about the GOP critics. Or, as our betters like to refer to them "haters". Thankfully this story will disappear tomorrow.

But hey, I hear Donald Trump almost spent money in Cuba 30 years ago, he didn't. But he almost did. Better start pushing that new hashtag nevertrumpers.

I'm beginning to think - regardless of who wins - in four years we'll be looking fondly at Sherman's march as an act of civility. The animosity, the hatred on display at the personal level between HRC supporters and those of DJT are increasing. There is no debate anymore on issues. On any discussion it rapidly descends into personal attacks -verbal and increasingly physical.

No it wasn't. Obama and his team have consistently understood the Constitution correctly, while conservatives everywhere have misunderstood the constitution. Laws ARE for little people, and the constitution is for big boys. Conservatives stamp their feet that laws are broken, but laws don't apply to the 3 branches. The legislature can just change the laws, the courts can just decide they mean something else, and the executive branch can just ignore them.

What Obama and his team have understood from the beginning is that unless congress musters the stones to impeach, the executive can do ANYTHING. And since they are able to frame everything as racist congress has remained unwilling to do much more than whisper about impeachment.

I have to ask the obvious. Aside from all of the great stuff the GOPe candidates say, how well they articulate conservative values, how well they seem to know the talking points...

Show me a single example in the past 8 years where they stood up in any remotely meaningful way for any of those values. When we join the Global world as both parties are pushing, there are no conservative values. None. Zero. No bill of rights on the international stage. No democracy that is not a collective democracy. There is ABSOLUTELY NO indication that the GOPe is not on board with that EU globalization mode.

I would suggest the only hope you have for the future of conservative values is a trump win, because for all their sweet words I'm having a hard time finding anyone in DC-- DEM or GOP--who really supports your values beyond the words required to get your vote.

---

Some questions that are meant respectfully:

So Trump is "repulsive." What exactly has he done that is so repulsive and vulgar? And... so what? Are you inviting him to your daughters wedding? Are you afraid he'll get drunk and fall into the cake? Or hit on your Mother?

He's a successful businessman. He has done things many people have not. Is it beucase he is seen as a class traitor becuase he is trying to appeal to "the lower classes."

What specific values is he against? Yes, he is divorced. Many politicians are divorced. He has a family that he is obviously close to. He is reaching out to different races, which policians don't always do, especially Republicans. Is it his stance on abortion? Or some other specific issue?

If it's just being conservative.. once again, so what? Is he more conservative than Hillary? Is he more likely to have solid ideas to make America a better place, or will all of us do better with a million or so Muslims with b0mbs roaming the country?

Finally, look at WWII. We were on the same side as effing Stalin. What would have happened if we said "Gee Joseph, we could really use your help in this war, but you're just not democratic for us; you're just not the type of people we want on our side. Best of luck and all?"

Is the final asnwer "Sorry Donald, you're not conservative eough, so I'll throw my lot behind the vindictive communist crimiminal with potential brain damage who will undoubtely bring bankruptcy, war and strife to the nation."

And therefore, I think all of us as Americans need to be asking hard questions about, you know, why am I feeling this way? Why are we Americans so deplorable? So irredeemable?

To me, this is fundamentally a problem of mental health. Look, it's fun not to be a racist, not to be a xenophobe, not to be an Islamophobe.

That's why I refer to them as Fun Camps, and at the same time as my administration is granting citizenship to all undocumented immigrants, we will be providing the necessary help to those people mired in deplorableness and poor mental health through our program of Fun Camps, to rid themselves of these implicit biases.

I *will* still vote for my incumbent GOP rep this election, he is a 2014 guy, long term GOPer though and probably way too cozy with the beltway folks but better than the D at this point.

Still, electing Trump is only one first step to addressing the rot in DC. Almost every incumbent congress critter needs to be tossed out and a whole lot of bureaucrats need to be removed from all the various federal agencies.

Perhaps if the world banking house of cards collapses and the government is broke a Trump president might be able to use that as an opportunity to fire most of the EPA, DOE, other DOE etcetera. We know a president Hillary would just use the excuse to impose price controls on food and housing ala Venezuela et al.

227 "So Trump is "repulsive." What exactly has he done that is so repulsive and vulgar? And... so what? Are you inviting him to your daughters wedding? Are you afraid he'll get drunk and fall into the cake? Or hit on your Mother?"

Don't be stupid. You know what he's done. We all know what he's done. It's entertaining when it's Rosie vs The Donald circa 2008. It's less endearing when it's the man representing the country.

"Is it beucase he is seen as a class traitor becuase he is trying to appeal to "the lower classes."

I couldn't care less about that. I like plumbers and truckers much better than most CEOs.

"What specific values is he against? Yes, he is divorced. Many politicians are divorced. He has a family that he is obviously close to. He is reaching out to different races, which policians don't always do, especially Republicans. Is it his stance on abortion? Or some other specific issue?"

It's everything. He has no foundation of conservatism. His defense of religious liberty is laughable. His claims of being pro-life are absurd (PP is awesome!) and he has no understanding of any conservative idea at all outside of his favorite Trade Agreements!!! hobby horse.

"Is he more conservative than Hillary? Is he more likely to have solid ideas to make America a better place, or will all of us do better with a million or so Muslims with b0mbs roaming the country? "

Presumably. Though nothing in his past suggests this. Will he nominate better judges. I hope so. Will he actually do anything about the border and the muslim issue? Maybe. You'd think yes, but he's already back tracked on a good deal of that so, again, who knows.

We know Hillary will be terrible. Trump might possibly not be terrible.

That's enough to make him the better option, obviously, but that doesn't make him a good option.

Nope. I don't presume anything of the sort. The original statement I responded to and quoted was "Here's the thing. As a upper middle class Christian wife/mother I can't admit to voting for Trump. "
If a person votes for someone but can't admit it to their circle of friends/influence (by extrapolation...says they vote for someone else) for fear of reprisal or exclusion, I question if honesty/transparency among said circle is a value dearly held.

Even if it means a fundamental and permanent shift away from a United States founded with a Bill or Rights, and where, as in Europe today, you can only express your values in your living room because the wrong post on a website about gay marriage or Muslim immigrants will have you in front of a court. Again, as is the case today in Europe and it most certainly is the direction being pushed today by the DNC and with virtually no opposition from the GOPe.

There will be no president Santorum. And don't expect a future Jeb or Mario to stand in the way of progress...

I'll try: Obamacare, destroying the Middle East (Hillary visiting her 120 countries), Benghazi...do not get me started on Benghazi, and she IS the Beast of Benghazi, ignoring our veterans and the VA: no firiing, nothing...losing 22 a day to suicide. Not having a freaking budget for 8 yrs. Diminishing allies across the world with utter stupidity on top of lack of class (he'd rather high-five the basketball NCAA bracket than put his pipe down and work). Apologizing for the United States of America. Bowing to dicktaters. Bowing to anyone. Not jumping to conclusions except for white police killing black men...who cares about Ft. Hood or any other terrorist attack in the US by his precious moose limbs? Half the time he does not comment at all...would not want to offend. Raising taxes. Depleting the military. Giving Isis the gift of Iraq. Gun running to Syria. Destroying Libya and killing heads of state in their bumbling foreign policy. Emails, oh, wait,he did not know til he saw on news! to corrupt Haggard Harridan Hillary....all but inviting our enemies to read national security secrets, or, as Catherine Herridge said in January, the "Crown Jewels" of national security. Bringing in unvetted Syrians and, oh, 1 million of his precious moose limbs in 8 yrs. Ignoring the border. Strapping the border patrol and our military so that they cannot defend themselves or our country. Crap like that.

Anyone who sits this one out is a friend to the above. It means you condone giving our country away to more of the same.

I love you all but this really ticks me off (if you cannot see the steam coming off my keyboard). Have a good weekend. Maybe we will still have an Internet next week. xoxo

She's dreamy. Just like Obama. We love him too, even though he favors live birth aboritons and gay marriage. "

Nope. They think that Hillary and Obama are despicable.

Listen or don't listen, it doesn't matter since it's not you who needs to change anyway, but you're not understanding who I'm referring to.

These are very conservative people who have voted Republican in every election since they were 18. They think Obama has been a walking disaster and think Hillary is a lying felon.

They feel about Hillary and Obama just as you do.

They just also feel personal embarrassment over being in any way associated with Trump.

Trump could fix that if he would stop being a bumbling ass for 5 minutes, but it's worked for 70 years so he sees no need to do it now.

Like I said, they ultimately may vote for him anyway to forestall the apocalypse, but you are not ever going to see them in a Trump hat, and they're going to deeply resent anyone who tries to strongarm them into supporting him.

And the "establishment" has not exactly proven to be a friend to this large number of people.
So I guess it kind of goes both ways. The dirty despicable die hard Trump supporters (because let's be honest...it is hard to separate the man from his people) will hold their nose and accept that "they" are part of this grand coalition.
Surprisingly, I have a feeling that one side may be more accepting of the other.

They don't view Trump as somehow worse than McCain and his many marriages. Since Trump leads with marrieds, our votes will count just fine.

This does relate to ace's class tension stuff though. My husband and I have certainly run into the kind of "conservative" who thinks Trump is de trop, but who also has 1/3 our household income but considers themselves UMC and superior due to having a pair of posh BAs.

I don't.... I just don't get it I guess..... Trump was certainly not my first choice..... not even close.... but now he's my only choice...

Posted by: deplorable donna

True but I'm not willing to stipulate to repulsive. Why repulsive? Alpha males don't go around talking and acting like Mr. Rogers.

Because of some coarse things he said 20 years ago? Cheated on his wives? None of my business. We'd have heard already if he harassed or raped anybody or enabled a rapist.

Repulsive? Compared to who? Bill Clinton? Obama? Rubio? Is there anyone more repulsive than Jeb? A lot of people find Trump far less repulsive than practically any politician. And there's a difference between being an alpha male and a rapist.

People who vandalize and steal signs and otherwise attack others freedoms? Mobs who assault people because they are wearing a hat or T-shirt they don't like? These are repulsive and they are all in for Hillary.

Anyone who finds Hillary less repulsive I have serious questions about them.

Anyone who calls someone a racist-- just because they think it will hurt-- is the most repulsive organism I can think of.

So, Go Trump!

everyone I associate with, hold. Even if he weren't vulgar, he's still
not a conservative.

I listened to the debate with an open mind, and was disappointed
again and again with his complete lack of understanding of basic
conservatism.

342 The obvious problem, of course, with Ace's logic, is that there's absolutely no end in sight the hoops one must jump through for Trump, no matter what he does.

If your starting proposition is that the other side is irredeemably worse, and always will be, why, there's nothing that YOUR side can do that is worse than the other side.

Even associating with, and promoting, racists and racist groups / organizations.

So all of this must be ignored, of course, because EVERYTHING the other side does is worse, right? Our side is always right.

Except, of course, when they're trying to not kick out all of those brown folks, or worse, allow more of those brown folk in. That's unforgivable.

Hillary defended a man who raped a child and laughed about it/ I would vote for road kill before I wouldn't vote for a person running against Hillary and I*'m tired of talking to you.

352 Oh come on...they can't 'invent' money ...it has to be appropriated. So where is the appropriation. Boehner? Ryan? anyone?

353 The most pathetic part about nevertrumpers is they blindly believe liberal Democrat talking points. This just proves they have no idea what kind of people we're up against. For liberals, if you disagree with them you are the enemy. It's high time to adopt the same policy from our side. If you are not a conservative you are a terrorist supporting freedom hater.

354 I can barely read this article for all of the "delivering a win for the GOP" or "GOP cheers" etc etc. I love the constant misdirection as if this article is almost about the GOP and not Obama and the democrats.

FFS.

355 "Do people here really believe that a large portion of # never trumpers disdain for him is because he is so declasse' ?
aaAre they really that shallow and petty?"

Short answer, yes they believe that. It makes the Trumphumping seem less icky
