9 OT, next missive from my liberal friend, submitted to the NY Times, without further comment:

A Vote For Trump Is A Vote For Climate Catastrophe - Eugene Robinson - September 20, 2016

It is more than interesting that one of the ONLY things Trump tells the truth about is his disdain for, and disbelief in the irrefutable science that confirms Global Climate Change. Long after Assad is gone in Syria, and ISIS is a distant memory, the consistent and continuous pollution of our planet will spell disaster for life on earth as we know it. Like his lack of knowledge on foreign policy, taxes and health care, Trump knows next-to-nothing about climate science, and probably hasn't read any of the many proven scientific papers that confirm its existence. Trump has never seen the shrinkage in the Greenland ice sheet or the melting of the ice in the Arctic, nor has he seen the bleached out coral reefs in Australia. The saddest thing is that he just doesn't care. Of the myriad reasons not to vote for Trump, his position on climate change is at the top of the list.

And by his use of the term "proven", Eugene Robinson confirms that he hasn't read any of the same papers. After having been peer reviewed, any science paper is not granted "proven" status. In science, rather, its outcomes are considered "not unproven".

I'm glad the Philadelphia Eagles didn't do an entire team protest last night, just a couple players. They're back in Philadelphia next Sunday, before the home crowd.

In the past some fans have purported to have shown displeasure by tossing 'D' cell batteries onto the field.

Hate to see a situation where the sports announcer says, 'A lot of electricity on the field today!' ... because there actually is electricity all over the playing field.

To me I look at the Eagles quarterback, some scrawny 23 year old white dude, fresh out of college, possibly a huge career ahead of him, and I question how fair it is to punish him for the actions of the league and a tiny minority of highly renumerated African-American players.

So I'm conflicted, but happy that what was 'supposed' to be an entire team protest was confined to a couple players.

158 The JonBenet conclusion last night was interesting. They concluded that nine year old Burke killed his sister. They presented a somewhat convincing scenario in which Burke struck her with a flashlight in a fit of jealousy fracturing her skull and killing her. Presented with the loss of one child, the parents were determined to not lose a second and covered up the crime.

There is just one problem. The actual cause of death was strangulation by garrote. (The "experts" gloss over this fact by saying the flashlight blow rendered her brain dead.) But someone fashioned a garrote, strangled her, and put tape over her nose and mouth. I just can't see two loving parents thinking, "Well, she's basically dead. I guess we better, you know, finish her off. Do we have any cord for a garrote?"

I would not be surprised if that show results in a defamation suit. I'm not predicting a victory but it was pretty outrageous.

Have you ever heard of he Gakkel Ridge? It doesn't get reported on much but it is an underwater fault line that runs through he Arctic Sea.

In October 2015 there was a significant volcanic event associated with this fault that dumped a huge amount of methane into the ocean which had a dramatic affect on the sea ice. Same thing happened around 2007 which the msm has been using as evidence of AGW for years with zero mention of the underwater volcanos.

As noted, the sea ice in Antarctica has been growing at record levels. Not much focus on that either.

Google away and see for yourselves.

Yep. Poison arsenic in *your* tap water, film at eleven!

Totally unremarked was Billy Jeff's EPA forcing through a change from chlorine in public water supplies to chloramine, because it would be "healthier", and line the pockets of certain business contributors.

270 There is just one problem.

My take on it was that they don't agree on the cause of death declared by the coroner. Coroners can come to the wrong conclusion, particularly when there are two different methods employed that are typically fatal.

I've seen autopsy photos of JonBenet's remains. There is a photo of her skull after scalp removal and the fracture is stunning. As was reported in the autopsy, she had an EIGHT inch long fracture across her skull with sections that were comminuted, meaning it had sections that were broken into multiple fragments. She had bleeding and fluid between the skull and brain.

I believe Burke did it and it was not a planned murder, but one of a kid losing control and killing his sister in a fit of anger with a flashlight or other object. When his parents discovered it, they decided to cover it up to protect him, since there was nothing they could do for JonBenet. All of it was staged.

The staging is very sick however. Not only the garotte thing, but the heart drawn on her hand, and she apparantly had been sexually abraded(best way I can put it) with some type of object. She had light abrasion in her vagina and outer genitals, resulting in some slight bleeding.

I saw some of the brother's recent interview. He is a really strange person, laughing through the entire interview. Mom obviously wasn't wrapped tight or she wouldn't have been involving her daughter in the bizarre sick world of toddler beauty pagents and Burke seems to have the same weirdness.

As I said in the downstairs thread, HW Bush is 92 years old, confined to a wheelchair and the photo Kathleen Kennedy(yes a Kennedy) published on Facebook of her posing with him, showed the former president to be less than cognizant of all of his surroundings.

You can leave it to a Democrat, a Kennedy at that, to not have a shred of decency or decorum to not post a photo and to not use an elderly, very ill ex president to further a Democrats campaign.

Instead of being angry at Bush, who will need to have someone fill out his absentee ballot, Kathleen Kennedy ought to be the object of ridicule. And Bush's family and caregivers who allowed this bitch to use the elder Bush this way.

Seriously. Drudge had a link up on it a few days ago.

Of course, it's bullshit. The SecGen isn't supposed to be from a Permanent member of the Security Council (although I can't remember if it's just tradition or if it's written into the UN charter). Plus, the new SecGen is supposed to take office on Jan 1. That would be a really weird overlap.

346 Today is the 82nd birthday of Sophia Loren, born 1934 as Sofia Villani Scicolone in Rome.

Loren spent an impoverished childhood in the Naples-area fishing port of Pozzuoli* but after placing in a beauty contest in 1949 made her first film appearance in 1950 and gained her first part in an American film as an extra in Quo Vadis a year later. As a tall, statuesque brunette, she made ten Italian films before her first major role in a U.S. film in Boy On a Dolphin in 1957. She won an Academy Award for her performance in Two Women in 1961 and co-starred with Italian film great Marcello Mastroianni in 12 movies. Ultimately, Loren appeared in nearly 100 films, the last of which was in 2010. Her long, stable, 1966 marriage to Italian producer Carlo Ponti only ended with his death earlier in 2007. She was - and still is - a stunningly beautiful woman.

367 Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt and the trigger
was a conflict over the kids...TMZ has learned. Jolie filed legal docs
Monday citing irreconcilable differences. She's asking for physical
custody of the couple's 6 children. She is asking the judge to give
Pitt visitation. It's significant...does not want Brad to have joint
physical custody...only joint legal custody.

Sources connected with the couple tell us...Angelina's decision to
file has to do with the way Brad was parenting the children...she was
extremely upset with his methods.
We're told there was no alleged "third person"...

In a word, they are naive regarding the aggressively black hearts of the consciously vile proto-Left.

By way of a micro-example, I was helping an old fellow to get rid of a virus that his computer had picked up from a spam email when he asked, "But why would anyone do that"? My sentiments exactly, if you are referring to then 12 yo rape victim, Kathy Shelton, that hillary was still doing a LMAO about a decade later. Trump could devastate hillary w her own words and gleeful proclamation of her "win."

Oh, and going all SJW, accusing the company of firing mostly low level, low income employees - as the CEO explained, 12.00 an hour plus 6.00 of benefits - even though they were guilty.

Not defending Wells Fargo. But these people definitely fail in the self-awareness category.

This is the Big Lie of this election cycle, to the point that Fauxahontas and the progressive establishment can now just allude to "bigotry" or refer to a "campaign based on prejudice" etc. without actually having to refer to any specific statement or policy.

There are not a huge number of swing voters left, but the moral preening is strong among them. And so, I think that DJT would be well served to take this issue on, front and center, from time to time. Not to be in defensive mode, but explain that America is not a "race" and defending American borders and American interests first is not "racist." Just needs to be said directly and more often.

Guy's I appreciate your innocence in this regard, but I have a friend who works as a psychologist for a state prison system and once you hear a few stories of her inmates and why they are there, you realize just what people are capable of doing, including parents to their own children. We had a man several years ago, drive himself and his three children, including his car seat infant, off a boat ramp into a river and drown them all , in daylight, in front of spectators. Remember Susan Smith, who drowned her two sons by letting the car roll into a lake, then went on national television with a "black man carjacked us" story? How about the recent SC woman who suffocated both of her children at home before strapping them in a car seat and sending the car off a bridge?

People are capable of true evil, even as parents. I looked up the yearly average. 450 children are killed by their parents yearly. Some by beating, strangulating , shooting, etc.

And you think someone desperate to not have their son indicted couldn't concoct a crazy staged scene about their dead daughter?

Trayvon Martins' drug concoction used Skittles, which he was buying that day, with the Ice Tea, I believe, too.

Trayvon, in fact, had become a devotee of the druggy concoction known as "Lean," also known in southern hip-hop culture as "Sizzurp" and "Purple Drank." Lean consists of three basic ingredients -- codeine, a soft drink, and candy. If his Facebook postings are to be believed, Trayvon had been using Lean since at least June 2011.

Trayvon Martin is seen on the security video through the 7-11 window approaching the store from the direction of the Retreat at Twin Lakes. He had been staying there at the townhouse of his father's girlfriend, Brandy Green. In major media accounts, the helpful Trayvon ventured out in the rain in a mile-plus round trip to buy Brandy's 14-year-old son, Chad, some Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea. Not likely.

I'm leaning towards "couldn't". They have wanted single-payer health care for over 100 years now. They saw that as their prime opportunity to get it. And they couldn't get it done. I don't think they are stupid enough to pass up a once-in-a-generation opportunity to enact a 100-year-old goal just so they can have some talking point to beat up Republicans with.

Hillary doesn't appear to have a single redeeming quality as a candidate--none. Without the support of the media she would go nowhere.

However, Trump seems able to play the media better than I've ever observed. In the process he's been able to clearly reveal their bias and stupidity and thus far at least consistently turn their attacks into his favor.

Will he be able to maintain this?

572 Why do we call them trailers when they are shown leading the main movie?

Posted by: Bandersnatch at September 20, 2016 11:51 AM (mgbwf)

Trailers first came into being around 1910 - 1914 or so, as I recall, when the Lowe's chain did a promotional short for a musical soon to open at one of the Lowe's theaters. They were called "trailers" because they followed, or "trailed" whatever the feature movie was playing at a certain house. But because people often left as soon as the movie was over, trailers were moved so as to be part of the whole "package" of movies - you'd go to see, let's say, Bombshell, but before that you'd have a cartoon, a newsreel and then a short trailer or two and then the main feature.

Posted by: Burnt Toast at September 20, 2016 11:50 AM (P/kVC)

I understand Bush the Elder's vote for Hillary. The old man's made no secret of his dislike for Trump, especially given the lowball politics Trump played when he went after Jeb Bush, as well as Trump's criticisms of George W. Bush's decision to attack Iraq. However, understanding why he's come out for Hillary doesn't mean I agree with him. Bush has made it personal to the detriment of the GOP, and it isn't personal. It's politics.

I dislike Trump intensely. Everything about that two-bit, say anything demagogue alienates and infuriates. But here's the thing: Trump isn't Hillary, and Hillary is far, far worse, so I'll pull the lever for the GOP nominee (as I always do) and have done with it.

To the point: there's no New World Order conspiracy going on here: no Illuminati, no evil*cough* Zionist *cough* bankers or fluoridated water mind control Bilderburger Group chemtrail bullshit. It's an old man who can't forgive the slander of his sons.
