Whoopsie! 800+ Immigrants With Security Concerns Just "Accidentally" Awarded Full Citizenship, Per Inspector General Report

Trust your government. It totally takes your family's safety seriously.

Those individuals were from so-called "special interest" countries that represent a U.S. security concern, or neighboring countries with a high rate of immigration fraud.

The individuals slipped through the system because their digital fingerprint records were not in the DHS or FBI's databases, according to the audit.

Citizenship and immigration officials discovered that fingerprint records were missing for 315,000 immigrants who had been issued final deportation orders or who are criminals or fugitives. Officials have not yet reviewed about 148,000 of the records in an effort to digitize them, according to the DHS audit.

That leaves open the possibility of immigrants being granted citizenship without officials having access to their full immigration and criminal history.

Okay, and so now Hillary joins the Racist Bomb-Sayer Trump and calls for "tough vetting" of immigrants.

Hillary Clinton called for the rigorous screening of immigrants Monday to ensure that dangerous actors do not make their way into America.

"I am absolutely in favor of and have long been an advocate for tough vetting for making sure that we don't let people into this country," Clinton said during a press conference in New York.

If only she had had a position -- such as being a Senator, or being Secretary of the department that issues visas, State -- where she could have made her desires on this subject more widely known.

PS Trump just mentioned this in his speech.

My daughter had one. She had a sleepover one night with bunch of other teenage girls. No pics.

They're doing this Ouija thing and out of nowhere in a windless summer night 3, 000 pounds of tree falls across our driveway, completely blocking it. The girls all screamed. If you've ever heard a tree that size fall you know what I'm talking about.

101 "With all those Syrian refugees, this administration admitted practically zero Christians."

What adds to the outrage is that Christians and Yazidis are special targets of ISIS wrath, but don't go into the UN camps because they know that the Muslims in the camps will kill them while they sleep. Because we only take refugees from the UN camps, no Christians nor Yazidis refugees come to the US.

But we actually have a statute that prioritizes US asylum for victims of religious persecution.

And this went on while Hillary ran State.

Hi!

I missed you on the pet thread. I was hoping to see you.

If you're still here, may I ask what a horse like Fabio would cost
me? Doesn't have to be a stallion. That is one beautiful horse. I
want one!

Posted by: L, Elle at September 19, 2016 06:04 PM (6IPEM)

Hi L, Elle!
I was busy stacking hay (200 bales, ugh!) in the barn on Saturday...left me wiped out so I just vegged out on the sofa. With what I already had in the barns, the 200 additional bales should get me through to Spring. So, I missed the pet thread.

As for a Friesian horse, a lot of the cost will depend on the Sire and the mare, and prices are all over the map. Are you set up to handle a young horse? But...to cut to the chase, expect to pay around 10k for a pureblood Friesian, and the price can be much higher. At one time, there was an exceptional Friesian ranch in Colorado, but they re-located to my neck of the woods several years ago. I used them to AI one of my mares (Fabio's momma).

They are a gentle breed and you would not be disappointed.

The Republicans have a branding problem, which is more pronounced in some parts of the country. In the Northeast especially the brand is Old Money Country Club. This has been a barrier to getting the Irish for more than 100 hundred years, and by extension other later-arriving immigrant groups.

My sense is that this is less an issue in the West.

Well, it would be nice if the candidate actually had an idea of why these "accidental" citizenship papers got mailed out, and what he planned to do about it. I don't think it was intentional by the way, I think it was a bureaucratic screwup. See this, for example:

http://tinyurl.com/goohju9

(Yes it's an NRO link but Krikorian is by no means an immigration squish)

Evidently, DHS used up all the money intended for fingerprint digitization, but did not bother to ask for more, since they evidently didn't consider it to be a big enough priority. And that is how these 800+ people slipped through the cracks, lack of digitized fingerprints. That kind of crap has to stop, and I don't think it will stop by just throwing more money at DHS. I would hope that Trump or any other candidate would want to tear down DHS all the way to the studs and then rebuild only the absolutely needed parts with competent people who clearly understood what their priorities are.

There's a lot of Battle Royale in it, a Japanese flick from 2000 where the government puts a group of high schoolers on an island and forces them to fight to the last boy or girl standing. A couple of the kids are veterans. It's a lot more violent than Hunger Games.

Tarantino once said it was his favorite flick of the last 25 years.

/also, I am totally freaked out that I'm supporting Trump, but it's really an anti-establishment thing for me. Just to clarify.

I would think a savvy negotiator would want people to underestimate him.

I've long thought that there is a public Trump and a private Trump. The public Trump is attention-seeking, self-aggrandizing, and full of bluster. The private Trump is very different. He seems to have a decent family, and there are stories of him quietly doing good deeds for people out of the public eye. Plus, you don't become a success in business by being ignorant. I would think that if he was an asshole in his private life, we would have had people coming out of the woodwork saying what a jerk he is. But we haven't seen that.

He also tunes his political messaging to reach those who aren't over-educated and who aren't political junkies.

LIVs aren't necessarily stupid.

Among her many disadvantages, Hillary lacks the common touch.

I was involved with a negotiation in which I'd brought along a young female colleague, who took umbrage at condescension from the other side. She started to say something, and I shot her a look, and she shut up.

At a break, she asked me why I'd let that pass without response.

"Because I'm happy for them to underestimate us."

276 Well, I don't get it. Perhaps you can put me some knowledge, buzzion.

Bottom line is, while I am a white guy, I don't really have any sort of affectation or tribal affiliation with "whiteness". I am not even sure what that is. Name virtually any activity or idea, and you can find white people who do it/agree with it, and you can find white people who don't do it/don't agree with it. Same with any other race or people or activity or idea. So phrases like "acting white" are rather meaningless. White people are polite, white people are rude, white people are angry, white people are bitter, white people are kind, white people are compassionate, white people are assholes, white people are saints, so... which one of these things is supposed to be "acting white"?

Yep. I said early on in the primaries that Trump can appeal to LIVs much better than any of the other Republican candidates. Despite his wealth, he seems to be able to connect with working people in a real sense. That's probably because he's had occasion to interact with all kinds of people during his business career.

Hillary, on the other hand, lives in a political bubble and her idea of reaching out to the common folk is by being patronizing and talking down to them.

280 chemjeff, the phrase "acting white" originated in mostly black schools, where if a student worked hard and was getting good grades, they were shamed by being declared to "acting white". They were being shamed by not being more like their "brothers and sisters" who were failing.
Now please. Just stop.

281 Conservative Treehouse is reporting that the story about how one of Hillary's hired hands at Platte River was on Reddit a couple of years ago, trying to get info. about how to alter her archived e-mails, has now been picked up by U.S. News and World Report.

This should make it a bit more difficult for the MSM to ignore.

When you call Citi, they will probably ask you for the last four digits of your SSN to verify your identity, but they shouldn't ask you for all of them. And they would never call and ask you out of the blue.

444-0002
444-0003

Perl script takes about 5 minutes to compile every legitimate phone number within any given area code.

Not at all. What he was telling this Ivy league educated, hard working, intelligent black man, was that he had fallen into the trap of following the American dream. You know, the one where if you work hard you too can succeed? You know, the one where it is not the color of your skin, but the content of your character?

I don't know why I even try.

292 Chi, I just looked that number up on the white pages.com reverse lookup that I always use, and it's been flagged multiple times as a scam.

As long as you didn't give out your cc # or SSN, you should have nothing to worry about.

If they read your correct cc number out to you, then you should definitely contact Citi.

But otherwise, you're good.

297 No I am not trolling.

First I don't regard the American Dream is a "trap".

You said that Jay's friend has "fallen into the trap of following the American dream". So he is evidently a successful black man, and this is urged to consider himself "white", at least culturally, because equality and success are supposed to be "white" traits? There are plenty of unsuccessful white people out there.

I hate labeling characteristics of people, that aren't strictly genetic, as something tied to race. It is just plainly offensive to me.
