10 Good morning.

I'm giggling about that cup because of two tings:

1. I just went on a minor twitter rant about the short-term psychological damage inflicted by a bad cup of coffee

and

2. Years ago, my then-boyfriend and I traveled out of town. He was very much a morning person and I am very much NOT a morning person. On our last day out of town, we got up, showered, got dressed, packed our bags, checked out of the hotel. We drove several miles to a restaurant, chose a booth, and sat down to order. When the waitress came to the table and asked what we'd like to drink, I asked for coffee.

He, quite unexpectedly, burst into laughter, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why.

It seems that through the entire morning, a good hour and a half, at least, the very first words I had uttered were "Coffee, please"

The whole Our United America speech was just outstanding. Trump is getting really, really good at this general election stuff at the perfect time. A masterful performance yesterday.

Actually it was very close to the election, and changing the ballots wasn't possible....I think he got the votes because he was very popular with the voters, and it was just a vote for him in that way....He had a popular radio show for years, and used to show how corrupt the Cuomo administration was in NY.

I was so creeped out watching the State Dept rep that I had to give it up (kids in the house). But they have consistently ignored and shit on all of the 2nd amendment since forever up until Heller and that wasn't the great ruling that a lot of people thought it was.

But the founders considered it legally binding on ALL the States as soon as they hit their stated number of States. That has always seemed of dubious legality to me.

Vic, we fly our flag everyday and have for years and years. Our first one did get very tattered, but it was of woven fabric. This one we have had for at least 15 years and while it is very slightly faded, it is still intact. It's made from some very polyester-ish type stuff.

Ours is just as you describe yours, on the front porch beam (in front of one of the rockers, as no doubt yours is too ;0). It is at somewhat of a slant, though, so when the wind whips it around, it will wrap around itself more than around the staff, and it doesn't touch anything else.

Also, if there's a very powerful wind, we will bring it in just so the staff doesn't break off.

The SJWs are killing millions, but doing it slowly. As with Islam, they are misguided soldiers for evil leaders with global domination in mind. The promise of nirvana via suicide bombing or cop killing are the same. On the broader level it demands for PC law is parallel to demands for Sharia compliance.

Up by one, 2 outs, Tampa Bay on 1st and 2nd, sharp hit to left. Fielder threw a perfect cutoff throw to Manny Machado, who whirled and got it to Weider who tagged the runner on the toe, sliding in. Never show up in the box score, but it was why we all love the game.

People sometimes bring up the Aztec religions, or the Assyrian cult of Anshar, in this context. Those religions couldn't survive the deaths of their state sponsors.

Islam was basically the Anshar-worship of Yathrib, after the death of caliph 'Uthman. Once it was out of state control, it became a licence to murder for anybody.

164 (AP) - Black voters reacted skeptically Friday to Republican
presidential nominee Donald Trump's admission that he now believes the
nation's first black president was indeed born in the United States.
Many said the fact that Trump spent years questioning President Barack
Obama's national origin was disrespectful, and an insult to all black
Americans.

A well orchestrated hit job by the left because it's all they have
left to stop Trump and prop up the Beast. Want to bet the first debate

That's what I said from the beginning: This is nothing but a sad, pathetic play by the leftists to try and juice the black vote.

"Look, look!!! Trump is attacking Obama!! If you love Obama, you have to vote for Hillary to protect him!!"

So sad. So stupid.

They were going to run with that no matter what. Because Hillary's share of the black vote and participation rate is collapsing--like her.

PS: Do you remember ANY ONE talking about Obama's birth certificate before Thursday? No? Exactly--manufactured hit job that fell flat.

For the first time ever, Vin made a political comment on the air this season when he spoke about a Venezuelan player, mentioned that that country is in a mess and added something to the effect of "Socialism never ever works and never ever will."

While I'm glad he's kept politics out of his broadcasts, that comment made me like and admire him more. He's the direct opposite of those loudmouthed ESPN clowns.

It's not so much an argument as a form of persuasion: you don't want to disagree with this large number of important people, do you? The Never Trumpers are on the right side of history: in 5 years noone will have supported Trump. But the right side of history is not what I learned in college; then it was "contingency," every historical event and institution was radically contingent. Now everyone is a Hegelian standing on the right side of history. But where is the right side of history in Egypt? 30 years ago it looked like it was on the side of modernizers. Today, not so much. I'd say the right side of history is wherever there is differential fertility that favors the intelligent. Where would that be? China? Where are smart people having more kids than stupid people? That's the right side of history.

The thick string base, the vibrato on the rhythm guitar and the hard-edge recording studio making a touch of echo on the vocals give it the bubblegum feel.

Fairly standard chord progression with a nice early 70's mod shift up, and there is that attempt at a wall of sound. It does sound like some of the 80's band like Jesus and Mary Chain, ya know, if Jesus and Mary Chain ever lightened up a bit.

Hey, musical morons, I was listening to this girl

band, Hinds, and they have this very retro, 60-ish sound, and I wondered

what it is that gives them this sound... the type of guitars they use,

or the recording equipment, or just the chords....?

Hoping some ron or ette can put put me some knowledge.

Do you play guitar? I think a tremolo pedal would get you there.

Posted by: M3tal H3ad at September 17, 2016 09:45 AM (cmE8J)

Tremolo, that's the effect. The better tremolos are generally the ones featured in the old tube amplifiers, Fender and Vox, specifically.

Thank you, Metal Head and ITC!

I don't play guitar (wish I did), but I really do like that sound. Hinds is a pretty cool band - just four hot Spanish chicks havin' some fun. It harkens back to a simpler time.

232 She's got internal numbers to show she's losing black voters and they're

not going to turn out for her, so a little classic Night Raid of Terror

is in order.
--------
I would guess that her internals are even worse for the non-black vote.

I think that a vast majority of voters were waiting for someone to tell them that it was okay to admit a preference for Trump.

Hillary,
in the most fumble-fingered political move since Romney's 47% percent
comments (or maybe even since McCain's "nothing to fear" comments) ,
popped the cork and with her insult, made it completely okay to be one
of the "deplorables" supporting Trump.

"Proud to be Deplorable" .

Self-inflicted.

Her face-plant was just salt in the wound.
============
Flips the script.

Which Trump is a master at doing.

Think about the other side; Obama.

How many people were proud to support him in 2008 and 2012 because all the "wrong" people hated him?
"I support Obama 'cause I know it drives the racists crazy."

That's what Hillary was trying to do with the "deplorables" comment: Remind the base that they have to support her in order to stick it to all those un-people.
She was trying the old Obama magic--"you have to support me 'cause look at all the evil that is behind him."

And you are absolutely right: Hillary just made it acceptable to support Trump.
When your supporters are out-and-out PROUD to be seen with you--that's an unstoppable juggernaut.

I can't even figure out how they tie it to being black, let alone how it could be sensibly done.
Posted by: Mama AJ at September 17, 2016 09:54 AM (gTQoY)

I think that they want to portray that if a white person questions ANYTHING a black person says, it's because the white person is racist, who believes that because someone is black, naturally they are a liar.

And you know what? That tends to be true about the vast majority of white liberals. They ARE racists. Part of that, IMO, comes from their superiority complex, in which they feel they are more educated, progressive, elite, and modern than the majority of this country. They are superior to any white who doesn't believe as they do, have the income, or grad school level education they have. And the less of these qualifiers someone has, the more superior they are to them. Since blacks are a minority, and are less likely to reach those qualifiers , they are inferior.

Seriously, talk to a genuine liberal for a while, and especially if you get to know them well enough that they occassionally drop the PC facade. You'll hear things about blacks, muslims, rednecks, etc. that will be 100% at odds with their public facade.

It's why they do NOT want to actually empower, educate, and liberate minorities from their circumstances, neighborhoods, etc. As long as they can get their vote yet keep them under control via government attachment economically and out of their pristine neighborhoods and clubs, all is well.

And since they project this personal belief system on everyone else as a security blanket, they are sure to believe that conservatives are also just as racist, and they use that meme to further their own program toward minorities. It's why you constantly hear "racist" out of their mouths directed at others.

It's actually their own consuming thoughts.

To be more specific:

The USC Dornsife/L.A. Times Presidential Election "Daybreak" Poll asks more than 400 people each day about their voting intentions. Each day's poll respondents are a subset of the UAS election panel, roughly 3000 U.S. citizens who were randomly recruited from among all households in the United States.

Yep, and the first thing they had to do was condemn and undo centuries of Western advancement into third world shitholes. Or the "rape of indigenous peoples," such as in the American west or Australia.

294 "Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield. "

Tennyson. One of my favorite poems.

BTW Vic, The Watchtower magazine is Jehovah's Witnesses, not Seventh-Day Adventists. Adventists are a totally different thing. Lots of them where I live, very nice people. Dr. Carson is an Adventist, IIRC. They don't come to your house.

297 "If Trump pulls 5% of the black votes, he's President and still doesn't give a shit about the Republican brand."

Trump doesn't even need to get many black votes. All he has to do is convince them that Hillary is a sufficiently unpalatable choice for them so as to depress turnout by a few points.

The AfAm vote is *that* centrally important to Democrats.

That's also why Black Lives Matter was ginned up out of a couple of otherwise ordinary police shootings. The left simply have to have a galvanizing issue to try and get blacks to the polls at Obama levels of enthusiasm, or Clinton is sunk. She sure won't be doing it with personal charisma.

Yeah, there's definitely some unsavory characters that are part of the "alt-right", just not all of them, and it's not a well-defined group.

Got the feeling Hillary hoped to demonize them in the same way the MSM/Dems successfully redefined the Tea Party - a movement started to fight govt. overspending/overreach - as a religious, social issues-obsessed racist org.

We used to have both groups coming around to talk religion with my mother when I was a kid so I get them confused. The woman I rented a room from in MD was one or the other too. Came close to throwing me out because she found a pint bottle of booze in my stuff.

302 One of my uncles was a Seventh Day Adventist. I don't know much about it, but apparently one of their beliefs is that you don't go to heaven right away when you die, but sleep in the ground until the Second Coming. He and my dad had an argument about that after my mom died.

305 For the life of me I'm trying to think of another religious faith murdering people besides Islam. Any help on this?

-
Ancient religions used to. The Thuggees back in 19th century India killed people. Also in the 19th century, the Mormons slaughtered a wagon train in the Mountain Meadows Massacre (but that was to protect what they considered their country, not because it was a part of their religion). There was a Santeria group of drug dealers in Matamoros, Mexico who sacrificed people so they would be invisible to law enforcement as they crossed the border into the U.S., (now they have Obozo so they don't need to). Other than that you've got your Satanists and that's about it (if you don't count commies). Again excluding the commies, all of them put together in the last century don't equal a good week for Islam.

Time to iron up some jeans and a tee, get a shower and hit the road . Couple hours+ of windshield time, load in-sound check-3 hour gig-load out and more windshield back home is the rest of my day.
It'll be grand.
If I get to cover HH's tab (within reason of course ), it'll be even more grander.
Hope that last one gives the crammed nazi's something to go off on.

Yep. And one of the reasons it hasn't worked is that the Tea Party movement was public, holding rallies. pushing candidates, etc. & could be seen - and redefined - on the media. The "alt-right" pretty much only exists in certain corners of the internet.

The Takimag comments are an anti-semitic sewer.

I really wonder why it seems to have escaped the notice of the lunatic fringe there that Trump's daughter married a Jew and converted. Milo became persona non grata over there quickly once it came out that he's half Jewish on his mother's side.

I am not an expert, just highly opinioned
Posted by: Kindletot at September 17, 2016 10:09 AM (lDj6i)

Thanks for the additional info! Hard-edged recording studio... it does have a kind of raw sound. I've heard of Jesus and Mary Chain, but don't really know their music. Will have to check out.
