Isn't that kinda old news?

BTW, on the news ribbon on Bing yesterday (which could not be more obviously biased), there was a story about Donald Jr. "using the Holocaust as a punchline." Cue the outrage!!!

Except what he actually said pointed out the media bias against Trump and the so-called joke was that if Trump had said some of the things Hill has, the Dems would be calling for the gas chambers.

That might be hyperbole, but it's not a joke. And it disappeared from the Bing ribbon soon. I think the idiot libs figured out that if you draw attention to the comment, you also draw attention to the statement about media bias. Can't have that!

Sure--a week is nothing. In fact, prepper lore has it that if you coat them in mineral oil, you can use them--unrefrigerated--months later. YMMV.

But if you don't want to throw them out, and don't trust them in an omelet, throw them at your neighbor's car. At night. That's how Edward Haskell would've encouraged Wally and Beaver to use them.

Me and the gals down at the Brattleboro Women's Reproductive Center were discussing the new I-Phone 7 and we have to say we are very, very happy with the change.

By removing the earphone jack, Apple has removed the metaphor for rape that haunts us in this male-dominated rape culture.

Why in Gaia's name should you have to stick something into a hole to enjoy yourself?

By taking away the hole, society can finally appreciate the societal value of the I-Phone without objectifying it as a receptacle for a long and rigid object.

This change is long overdue and we applaud it. We will be throwing our I-Phone 6s into the Housatonic River tonight as part of our Take Back the Night/Rape Culture Awareness protest tonight.

For years, it's been said that the main reason William Randolph Hearst hated Citizen Kane was not because of its implied portrayal of him, nor that it obliquely slandered his mistress, actress Marion Davies, but because "Rosebud" was the pet name Hearst gave to Davies' clitoris, and this embarrassed / infuriated the media tycoon no end.

The problem with that is, in all my reading, while I've come across many reports saying that was Welles' in-joke, I've never yet come across any interview or writing from Welles himself saying that he meant it.

So I don't know whether it's true or an urban legend, but I wouldn't mind the Horde putting me some knowledge on the topic.

205 From end of ONT. This is a money laundering scheme. A way for the banks to make direct cash contributions to the Hillary campaign without "breaking" the law. If the card holder complains, the bank credits their card and writes off the charge and Clinton keeps the cash. Too small of individual transactions to catch anyone's attention but potentially very large cumulative. Like what Duke Energy did in guaranteeing the Democrat convention loan for the 2012 election, but writ small. Democrats defaulted and Duke paid up.

"In A Narrow Race, Many View Trump As A Change Agent" - Patrick Healy & Dalia Sussman - September 16, 2016

There is no doubt whatsoever that if elected, Donald Trump would be a change agent. He would change America from the most admired country in the world into an international pariah. Trump would change the balance of the Supreme Court to a conservative majority that would lean toward abolishing Roe v. Wade and other rights held dearly by most Americans. With his admiration for thugs like Vladimir Putin, and his theory that other countries should be allowed to gain nuclear capability, Trump would change the U.S. position of being the protector of the free world to one of, "they need to pay their share for our protection or take care of themselves." Being a climate change denier, the Donald would set back everything president Obama has put in place to protect the environment. Yes, Mr. Trump would be a change agent, but of the very worst ilk. What really needs to change is the media's rating Trump on a curve. He must be held accountable for all his lies, racist slurs and bigoted views, and the first debate would be a really good place to start.

VM, I tried to do a "book banning" theme on the book thread a while back, and I kind of gave up. Most of the "bannings" are parents complaining of inappropriate books in school libraries, and some of the examples I agreed with. That's not "banning", that's just proper child rearing.

The fact of the matter is, no book is banned in the US anymore, except child pr0n. Anyone can read pretty much anything they want.

326 Trump's Birther Address

Two score and twelve years ago Barry's father brought forth, upon this continent,
a new child, conceived in the back seat of an Edsel,
and dedicated to the proposition that "Everything is America's fault"

Now we are engaged in a great election,
testing whether that JEF's legacy, or any legacy so conceived, and so dedicated,
can long endure.

We are met on a great battle field of that election. We have come to dedicate a portion of it,
as a final resting place for those socialist ideas that will die here,
that the nation might become great again. This we may, in all propriety do.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow, this America--
The brave men, living and dead, who have struggled here, have hallowed it, far above his piss poor power to add or detract.

The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here; while it must never forget what he did here.

Old news. And Trump can always say "Hillary also raised questions about this..."

The ONLY reason they are bringing it up is desperation -and because Obama's approval rating for some inexplicable reason - is much higher than Hill's.

I'm starting to get the feeling the Dems are bitterly clinging to the '08 and '12 playbooks that worked so well for them then and they're simply lost when it comes to Trump. They don't know how to attack him; don't know what to make of a new political landscape.

Yes. While not an evangelical tract for conservative values, the world described in 'The Giver' is simply political correctness on steroids. It's completely creepy.

Like, for example, nobody cooks, but food for each meal is delivered every day at mealtime by the food authorities and you are given what the authorities think is healthiest for you.

It's almost an unhealthy obsession with the two worst ones. One was still 'at it' until 2 am last night. Now back again, eight hours later.

Obsessive compulsive disorder is obsessive.

437 One thing the DNC Merdia complex does well is timing the infotainment cycle: The birther meme blows up on Friday. Saturday we watch youth soccer and mow the leaves. Sunday the talking heads get to lead w/TRUMP! CUH-Razzzzzy birther week. That's all they want, make the news about anything but Hillary! I've gotta say it again, her campaign is trying to run out the clock in the 3rd quarter w/the score tied. I guess that's all they can do.

440 I think Trump just pulled off a PR master piece

They let the word slip that he would address the Birther no issue ( he did release a statement last night) and everyone showed up to hear him...and there is NO mention of it. LMAO...Just all the MOH recipients praising him. Brilliant!

444 I'm not even remotely "paranoid" and there was plenty of evidence that Obama was obfuscating on the birther stuff. Everyone "declared" it "crazy" because it wasn't a winner and there was no way to prove anything. It was never made clear why Obama just didn't produce a valid birth certificate from the very start. There isn't anything "nuts" about insisting that he produce one. It's only "nuts" because A. the Obamabots say so and B. It wasn't worth it, nothing was ever going to come of it since either he was born in Hawaii OR he has the ability to have a birth certificate created.

Hillary's campaign thought of it. It was a perfectly valid question considering his origins, schooling, publicist and his own refusal to provide the documentation.

This isn't something to bash Trump over, unless, of course you're a leftist POS.

445 Donald Trump is a media genius.
I watched Medal Of Honor winners praise him for half an hour (on Fox, of course).
THEN:
Trump's statement that everyone was so breathless about:
"Hillary Clinton's campaign started the birther issue in 2008.
I ended the issue. Period.
Barack Obama was born in the United States.
Thank you."

MSM will now spend another week asking him if he was serious ...

Exactly. And the fact that he was admitted to Columbia as a foreign student is the reason we have never seen a transcript; that, and his likely crappy grades. Now, did he lie at Columbia to gain admission or a scholarship? Who knows?
