6 Drudge has a link about Huffington post that is pretty interesting. (Innocuous headlin in the middle of the page)

Seems that Arianna didn't like news stories when the sources were anonymous and when they smeared the reputation of her friends.

The reporters didn't like Arianna protecting her friends and the reporters all said that Arianna didn't have any experience in journalism. (Translation: News media use anonymous sources to smear peopla all the time. It's how things are done, it's how reporters gain their street cred; destroying the rich and famous.)

Guess who won.

Did Hillary have a seizure or Parkinsons freeze-up on stage last night? Did secret medic/SS agent pop out of her podium to reassure her and tell her to "keep talking"?

89 Looks like Colin Powell is an accessory to Hillary Clinton's crimes after all, the Donks have released an email exchange between him and the FAB instructing her to use methods to circumvent records creation and retention and to set up alternate methods of communication
________________________

I didn't see anything in his e-mail to Hillary that was telling her it was okay to transmit classified or secret or top secret government material over unsecured servers.

He was talking about keeping her private conversations from becoming public records, he wasn't telling her to set up her own personal e-mail server in her home bathroom so that she could conduct all of her SOS business, including the classified and secret parts, on servers that could be hacked by every foreign government and criminal organization on the planet.

Even Powell isn't that stupid.

That's how Hillary rolls: she doesn't do media interviews unless she reviews and approves all questions in advance. She also has a history of her people feeding questions to people in 'townhall' style events (see: "diamonds or pearls?"). We know the DNC lords over MSNBC thanks to the DNC email leaks. In addition, the email of Hillary's team coordinating with Sen. Menendez to provide him the questions he should ask her during the Benghazi hearing.

If we had a real government, instead of the clown show we currently have, any refusal to repatriate a criminal alien would mean automatic suspension of any more visas to the offending nation, termination of existing visas to that country's citizens in the U.S. and expulsion, denial of foreign aid, recall of the ambassador, etc.

Old family story:

Levi gets married, and he and his wife set up house. On the first morning she makes breakfast, she doesn't do too well and burns the toast, but serves it anyway. She says to Levi, "I hope that the toast is all right!"
Levi, wanting to have a good marriage and not upset his new bride, says "That's all right, the toast is just the way Levi likes it!"
Levi ate burned toast for the next forty years.

That's the way Levi likes it!" was thus a go-to phrase in my household growing up.

188 Speaking of Star Trek's 50th Anniversary, on Labor Day, I went to my parents', as I do every holiday. They had met this couple at their church who had produced and performed in air shows all around the world. Two really neat people. She had been an actress in the 50s and 60s and was working on the Paramount lot during the Star Trek years. That's where she and her husband met William Shatner.

After Star Trek was cancelled in 69, Shatner appeared with them at several airshows. They were so close at the time that Shatner's kids stayed with their kids during the show season. She said they hadn't talked to him much in the last few years because he had a lot of health issues, they had issues, etc etc etc. But, such a pleasant surprise and a really cool day.

As an aside, the woman was 79 and the gentleman was 86. Very, very decent, moral conservatives. I will see them again on October 22 and cannot wait.

There's a very similar story about Cecil B. DeMille. Being the imperious director he was, he didn't want to waste time looking through the daily menu at the Paramount commissary, so he told the dining room matron, "Just pick something and I'll eat it."

So, for some reason, she thought DeMille would like pea soup, and every day for twenty-odd years, DeMille would stride into the room, sit at his table and eat his bowl of soup.

Finally, one day the kitchen ran out. When DeMille arrived for lunch, the matron told him nervously, "I'm so sorry, Mister DeMille, but we have no pea soup today."

"That's all right,"
the director smiled. "and may I tell you the truth? I hate pea soup."

The matron turned white. "Then why didn't you ever send it back?"

"Well, you looked so happy the first day you set the bowl down in front of me,"
DeMille explained, "that I just couldn't bear to disappoint you."

The best bio on DeMille is Empire of Dreams by Scott Eyman:

goo.gl/3thxeP

DeMille wasn't a saint by any means and could be a pain in the ass to work for, but if you were loyal to him and did your job, he would never get rid of you. There are stories of people who worked with him, as crew and actors, from the silent days who were still being hired at the time of The Ten Commandments.

No, these educators must have dreamed this form up in the teacher's lounge uncontaminated by any outside, real-world exposure to standard, commonly used business forms / templates. For example, when is it due and where / how do I pay this invoice is completely absent from said invoice. So a followup email with these particulars was required.Hope they do not teach P.E. Hey! Let's try running the bases this new way!

249 Split pea soup?

Mumblety-two years ago, as a teenager on a Boy Scout extended back-packing trip (50+ miles in six days) we were running low on provisions. Breakfast the last day was sort of a grab bag affair. Each group of Scouts drew a packet sort of at random from what was left. My group got a box of dehydrated split pea soup. No ham. Blecch!

I haven't touched a drop since then.

310 Otterbox Defender.
Yeah, it's bulky. Also protects the case.

I'm using a LifeProof Nuud right now in conjunction with a tempered glass screen protector. But if the underlying phone is water resistant, I can cut down on the bulk of the case and use something with a slimmer feel to it. I like LifeProof and it's never disappointed me, but it's still a bit large for the pocket.

+100. When my Samsung Galaxy 3 died last year, I got an iPhone 6 at my husband's recommendation (the Galaxy had been his before he switched companies and got an iPhone).

Ugh. The first couple days I had it, I was constantly going online to try to figure out how to do things on the iPhone that I could do on the Samsung. Most of the time I found that those things couldn't be done.

I am a cheapskate, so I will keep this iPhone until it dies, whenever that is. But then I'm going back to whatever iteration of the Galaxy they have. As long as they fix that blowing up problem.

Team McMullin has also refused to release any details about "Haven" --- oo sorry -- "Nathan". But McMullin campaign honcho Rick "CandleJack" Wilson swears he's as real. Also, don't ask how Rick's totes real FBI investigation is going either.

When I wrote software it was *always* designed to do something until the 'escape' key was pressed. So if you drilled down anywhere in the program and discovered you didn't want to be there, no problem, hit the escape key, once or a couple times and return to a familiar menu in seconds.

My Samsung has an equivalent key, the Apple not.

390 The dems are scared. NYT has an article on how Republicans are "souring" on Trump and putting their money on the down ticket races because they know he is going to lose and they don't want to waste their donations.

They must be in a panic after all of the latest polls show him with the MOE or pulling ahead of hillary Nationally and in key battleground States.

Posted by: The Great White Scotsman at September 08, 2016 09:54 AM (iONHu)

391 Hillary has all adoring friends acting as moderators.
She will probably have questions in advance, even the "hard" questions so she can say "we covered that", but it will be the prepared propaganda answer.

And all the networks will pull out her best moments and gush over her brilliance, while cutting Trump's sentences in half and dishonestly "reporting" what he really means is racist.

Even FOX has mostly anti-Trumpers that just can't hide their snarky disdain for Trump. So Hillary plans to fly above the fray (the way the left always does) on their magic MSM red carpet of lies. The DNC sends the script out to all the local news subsidiaries that dutifully read it as if they are actually thinking for themselves.

The fog may be lifting for many ... but for LIVs that trust media, the fog machine is making things as clear as pea soup.

393 My Samsung 6 is water repellant although it's not advertised as such. The 7 is waterproof. However, my sons both have water proof cases on their samsung 6's (the 12 year old hates that, but too bad) since stuff happens. A couple of weeks ago, I got out of the car at the river house and walked over to pick up a towel that had blown off the line into a puddle. When I bent over my phone jumped out of my purse and went 3 inches deep into the puddle. Didn't harm it at all. I watched a video of some guy who put a samsung 6 which is not waterproof into a bowl of water to see how long it would take to crash. More than 40 minutes.

I despise Apple. I'd also rather have 6 PCs than one Mac for the same money. I can also work on a PC's hardware if I have to, the Apple no AND if you have a bunch of kids, you need more disposable laptops, ie the $400 range.

399 President Barack Obama said Thursday that Republican Donald Trump proves he isnt qualified to be president every time he speaks, adding that he was confident Americans would ultimately reject the brash billionaire on Election Day.

Obama, closing out his final presidential trip to Asia, said his meetings with foreign leaders during the trip had illustrated that governing is serious business requiring knowledge, preparation and thought-out policies that can actually be implemented. He urged Americans not to allow the outrageous behavior seen amid the campaign-season din to become the new normal.

NEVER in my life have seen a sitting President campaign like this and NEVER EVER NEVER over seas.

Try to move your music from computer to phone without using ITunes. In fact, try installing ITunes on a PC and actually expecting it to work.

One thing that Apple DOES do better than Android is audio playback via USB with third party devices like car stereos. Although, I suspect that has more to do with the third party OEMs.

Considering all the vermin that has entered the US courtesy of Jeh Johnson and via Mexico it would be cheaper to just drive in a ways and dump them in Mexico. Home of coyotes and cartels -- someone will get them, if the environment doesn't. A bottle of water is our humanitarian aid.

yes, but "we" can do that as the final act, after recording, jamming, then getting her to bark like a dog (good memory rickl, a perfect goof command). Your final act will reveal Hillary removing the alien (earwig/wrath of Khan?) from her ear, hopefully leaving her catatonic for a full minute.

413 I've been feeling nostalgic for Johnny Carson lately. Imagine him delivering these zingers:

Obama and Bill were chatting outside the Oral Office when Barack asks how Hillary's head is, and Clinton said, "well, she's no Monica."

Apparently, Nieto really wanted to meet with Hillary instead of Trump, but didn't have enough cash on hand.
