Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, September 04, 2016. On this day in 476 Romulus Augustulus, last emperor of the Western Roman Empire, was deposed when Odoacer proclaimed himself "King of Italy", thus ending the Western Roman Empire. By this time the Romans had already lost the wheat fields in Northern Africa and were unable to pay the troops. Individual towns in Gaul and Briton were already forming their own little city/states for protection.

7 So what is Obama's major reason for going to China. So he can once again sign an agreement to enter his illegal and unratified AGW scam treaty. I do hope Trump makes it known that if he is elected all the regulations and actions from this illegal treaty will be revoked, including this illegal deal with China. And yes, China is happy to sign this "deal". They are exempt from any of these actions for a long long time, which is why the original Kyoto "deal" signed by Al Bore was voted down in the Senate 98-0 (tabled).

11 A vendor who supports on-line fishing licenses in WA, OR, and Idaho have announced that their database has been hacked. This kind of thing should be expected now and two things need to occur. (1) There is no need to have a lot of personal information when applying for a fishing license; really name and permanent residence should be all that is required. (2) The penalty for hacking public databases with personal information on them should be made a felony with severe punishment. It has been treated as a harmless "prank" for too long.

Anyway, when I use the Internet feed it sucks bandwidth and memory like a big hawg and it appears that microsnot Word is not releasing memory when I close it and it too is a big memory hawg. I only have 1G of RAM and 1G of video ram so I can't afford memory hawgs.

34 Stereotypes are very bad, no? Mentioning the team name Redskins can get you fired from your sports announcer job, for example. Sooooo many ways to get or be offended these days.

But I suppose it's okay if you stereotype yourselves. Take Indian casinos -- Run by tribal councils, most of these casinos do not serve alcohol. Especially 'free' comped alcohol.

It's almost as if they are suggesting that Indians can't handle their liquor. And according to at least one study, alcoholism is 6 times more prevalent among the tribes compared to the US overall.

Went to my brother's place out in the sticks last night for a "pre-Labor Day" party. Lots of family and friends, plus his college-age stepdaughter brought like half the girls in her dorm. Made a fire in the back yard, grilled up 'dogs and brats, potatoes and onions in the coals. Later the kiddies made s'mores and hobo pies, and we did Jiffy-Pop, which the little ones had never seen before (they loved it.)

Swimming in the pool, cold beers, absolutely perfect weather. Awesome time had by all. One of those perfect summer days.

60 So Clan VIA went to the Maryland State Fair last night. And came away with some observations.

Admission booth:
When asked about Military and Retiree discount, responds with "Active Duty Only. Are you active duty?. No Ma'am, retirees.

She then, with absolutely no additional comments charges us the Active Duty ticket rate, and smiles handing the tickets to us.

She was a very nice and pleasant black woman.

During the hours we were there, the crowd was happy, and mingled freely. No matter what race or visible ethnicity.

Maryland Republican booth in the exhibit hall was manned by two whites, an outspoken male black veteran, and a very energetic hispanic appearing woman. Traffic was brisk, and the racial/ethnic make up of those asking for stickers and yard signs was very broad.

The Democratic Party booth three booths down?
Not so much.

The Ag-Hall area, full of livestock.
Many a black family with small children interacting with mostly white farmers. Kids touching and petting baby farm animals, while I listened to multiple discussions between farmers and older black visitors, each discussing the benefits and life lessons of honest, hard work, and the moral lessons taken away from those experiences.

This is in Baltimore County, where light rail provides the ability for urban residents to relatively easily travel to and from the fair grounds. And the light rail was absolutely packed with families going to the fair, and returning to the city afterwards.

While we all rightly so, draw great umbrage and outrage at the goings on of the #BLM movement, it was a really great night of seeing the other side of Baltimore.
The side where families all enjoyed life, and the wonders of that which the good Lord has blessed this earth with.

It may do me some good in the coming weeks to mentally return to the memories of last night.
Where the real Baltimoreans , and the real white farmers of privilege came together.

Just wanted to share.
Thanks for letting me.

Notice how the word 'dark' is being batted around lately? The 'dark internet' or how so and so delivered a 'dark' speech?

I have absolutely no doubt that control of free speech and the Internet is near the top of the agenda in Hillary Clinton's America. They're only mumbling now.

I like free speech. I like anonymous free speech even better. It has a long history in this country dating back to anonymous 'letters to the editor' that some of our founders engaged in.

The Alinsky types can't name and shame without a name.

I don't know how Milo puts up with all the lies being told by the MFM. They repeatedly, in virtually every story on him, blame things his Twitter followers said on him. Like Milo keeps saying, he's supposed to police hundreds of thousands of followers? He's responsible for every single thing some one Tweets just because they follow him?

FFS, all the dude did was write a scathing review. Jones took offense, Insults were exchanged. Milo did refer to her as a "black dude" in a cattily humorous manner ("rejected by another black dude") but he did not call her an "ape" or any of the other things he's being accused of that his followers said. In fact, he has publicly condemned that shit.

The Bing news ribbon has Milo's picture on it with the title "Interview Goes Badly." I think the interview went badly for Terry Moran who looked like a peevish little boy as he constantly interrupted Milo and called him an idiot and asked him "are you 13 years old?" 90 So I read those three books that Michael Shaffer wrote, the ones that Krakatoa was talking about a while back. He says that he had an editor look at them and they wanted to move some commas around. He really should have listened to them, they start out with short sentences that makes things kind of choppy at first...but when you get into the story it is a good one. Recommended.

A note about the second book...the author is a much better writer than artist. A professional artist could do some line drawings based on what he has there and really make a difference.

I would post this on the book thread, but it's Sunday and I have to sleep so I can work tonight so I won't be awake for it.

I think what really pissed the leftists off was Milo saying he had 'done more black dudes' than she had. I mean, how can the left respond to that?

I think that is what made them pull the plug on his account.

123 There's a clip online somewhere of Milo as part of a panel discussion in front of a college audience. Milo mentions being "born that way" and the moderator asks Milo: "if you could go back to your birth and choose your sexuality, what would you choose?"

Milo immediately says he'd choose to be straight, and there are audible gasps from the SJW's in attendance. That was NOT the "right" answer. As the SJW's are clucking and harrumphing, Milo for once drops all the snark and smartassery and says, plainly and simply and seriously:

"Because I wish I could father a child with someone I love."

It's a very poignant moment. I know from personal experience, as an absolute fact, that some do choose to be gay. But I also know that a lot of gays really are "born that way." And that Milo clip really brings it home.

152 I wore a uniform when I went to hs (I went to a Catholic girl's school). We were supposed to wear our skirts no higher than 2 inches above the knee. Girls would roll their skirts up at the waist (resulting in an unlovely, lumpy roll around the middle) before they got to school and then walk around until the nuns barked at them to roll their skirts down.

I am a great proponent of school unis. Saves parents a ton of money. And it lessens the pressure to have the "right clothes" with the cool labels, which would have been intense at my school. There were both blue collar kids and rich girls in my class.

Not that labels were as big in the 1970's as they are now. The only thing that was a "must have" was Levis. If you didn't have that little orange tab on the back pocket, you were wearing uncool jeans. That sucked, because Levis never fit me as well as other brands do. After hs I never had another pair.

The big jeans thing in college was Calvin Klein jeans. I remember gasping at the price tag - $40 for a pair of jeans! Outrageous!

154 146 Yes, what you refer to as 'taps,' we called 'cleats.' Ours was a rural school, but dress trousers were required.

We called football and baseball shoes "cleats". You could not wear them either because they too would tear up floors. (And you didn't want to wear them indoors anyway.)

Our local Wally World has frequent good pricing on 12ga shells for trap and skeet.

I have to pay for it at the register in the Sporting Good section at the time that they take it out of the display case for me, but I can wander around the store with it payed for and bagged, and continue the remainder of my shopping at will.

And same with handgun ammo.

As much as I like Tebow, I would be amazed if he ever gets on a major league roster.

He played baseball in hs, but he's 29 and has to climb the minor league ladder first. And baseball is nowhere as easy as mlb players make it look.

My daughter once "just had to have" a pair of $60 designer jeans that looked like they were painted on. I am surprised that wifey let her pick those out. But immediately after getting them she cut holes in them to wear to school. I was so mad spit would have bounced off me. I was above the Leidenfrost Point.

161 So Burnin Man is drawing to a close.

And the billowing pillars of black smoke rising into the atmosphere seem to almost be assaulting the clear pristine desert air.

Some attendees will then return to their life of fun in private jets.

And then the armada of large petroleum powered vehicles will fire up, and return the merry-makers to their common daily roll of excoriating conservatives for doing something to cause global warming.

163 Concerning Jonah Goldberg writing about Ace...

Of course, I'm going to take credit for it.

I believe it was my comments that made Ace do the sole searching he did after mindlessly jumping on the anti-Palin bandwagon way back when.

I believe it was my comments that talked him down off the edge as he waivered back and forth between following his British-accented friends into NeverTrumpLand or fighting Hillary.

I believe it was my comments that stimulated that underused mind of Ace into adopting a quest for the greater truth and in finding the set of large brass balls he had hiding between his legs.

Sure, there were others who may have helped with their comments, but we're not here to talk about those.

Because, as with all things, it comes back to me.

Of course, modesty prevents me from making a big deal out of it.

170 A computer programmer from South Florida was arrested last week for allegedly hacking into servers related to the Linux operating system, the Department of Justice announced on Thursday. The case acts as a reminder that even the websites that host and distribute the operating systems our devices run on can be targeted by hackers.

Donald Ryan Austin, 27, is charged with four counts of "intentional transmission causing damage to a protected computer" after allegedly hacking the Linux Kernel Organization and the Linux Foundation in 2011. The Linux Kernel Organization runs the site kernel.org, which distributes the Linux kernel; the heart of the operating system. The Linux Foundation is another group that supports kernel.org.

"Specifically, he is alleged to have gained unauthorized access to the four servers by using the credentials of an individual associated with the Linux Kernel Organization," the DOJ press release reads.

Ha! I remember that we not only HAD to have Levis in hs, but they had to be faded. Wearing brand new unfaded jeans was a no no, so when I got my new Levis I put them in the laundry room sink to soak in water and bleach - which ruined them, as the jeans became all streaky. My mother was furious. I had rejected this godawful pair of permanent press polyester jeans she had bought me because I would have been laughed off the face of the planet if I had worn them so she got me the "cool" ones for my birthday - and I wrecked them.

I had to buy my own Levis from that point on.

Incidentially, I went to a birthday party for my 14 year old niece yesterday. I gave her cash and a gift card to American Eagle Outfitters, as I am not even going to attempt to figure out what 14 year olds consider cool these days.
