Sorry to hear that. For me, the shooting season is pretty much over now. I'm having a little procedure next week and the recovery will take me past the US Nationals at the end of next month. I really wasn't looking forward to that match anyway (small range) so it's not the end of the world.
On a related note, powder and primer availability has been improving - same for commercial ammo?

Posted by: Weasel

Well, I just ordered 500 .22LR ammo for $47 (that includes shipping).
Before you couldn't find it for less than $59.99 before shipping.
Prices are a little higher than this time last year I think, but it is out there more.
I haven't reloaded so I am not sure on availability. Just trying to stock up on ammo in case Hitlery wins. I expect her to go after guns/ammo immediately.

24 Willowed

Hillary is played out.

She has nothing to run on except "four more years" when a commanding majority of Americans want change, hold the hope. Obama won't be able to transfer his Immunity Cloak to her.

MSM is all-in for Hillary, but they moved too much too early. After you've called the guy a racist sociopath unfit for office, and published nude snaps of his wife, you've played all your cards. The bias is already too obvious, and swing voters will see through it.

Hillary owns all the bad things that can happen until November, some of her own making.

She'll get schlonged in the debates. People expect her to beat Trump with her wonkiness on the issues, but Trump has so many lines of attack on the Obama/Clinton foreign and domestic record, as well as her and Bill's personal corruption. Bannon and Ailes know how to smooth off Trump's riugh edges and reduce his attack to polished sound bites -- think NY Post cover headlines.

Can't wait.

236 @68...

Founding Father Sir....

Go KAC and never go back.

Their Mod 2 5.56, (I linked the endurance test)
and the Mod 2 SR-25 (7.62) ACC/APC/APR models are unsurpassed. If you can only own one, KAC is the choice.

My KAC LPR'S, (Mod 1 & 2 5.56 w/18" barrel) are amazing straight from the factory when combined with quality glass and Black Hills 77gr. 600-700yds All Day w/practice. An still compact enough for CQB. Best Overall 5.56 I own. Hands down.

Having said that...the HillbillyEmperor's tuned National Match M1A is Supernatural even out to a 1000yds. But after all his time an effort, its a work of art. But he's been doin this shit for 40yrs more than me, heh. Credit where it's due.

Pistolas......whoa.... different ballgame.

Lissen about that Obama romance, a-way back in 2008 Michelle was surprisingly open about her years of misery and disgust and despair in that marriage. Have you noticed videos where she introduces him and he comes bolting out onto a stage and leaves her back at the podium to slink off unnoticed, instead of going to her first, and then to the crowd?

I was in an abusive relationship with that type of guy -- ethnic, by the way, from a culture where women are second-class citizens, and he was also raised in Africa -- and I know exACTly what kind of partner Obama is. The whole romance thing is a lie. He angers her in a thousand ways every day and he thinks she's stupid.

297 The Daewoo DP51 is one of those guns worth buying. The DH40, not so much and here is why.
Daewoo had significant issues with the barrels. As a result they are noticeably less accurate than they should be. My BHP could shoot circles around it.
Also, my DH40 seemed to have a materials issue. The place where the barrel chamber flange rode on the frame was causing a step to be cut into the frame. This was ins spite of not a lot of rounds being put thru it. I never heard this about the 9mm version. It seems .40 was too much for the original design.
Someone has brought back the Daewoo stuff under another name and they want $600 per IIRC.

That gun has the slickest action, likely due to the 12k rounds used for hunting and skeet shooting. Almost impossible to short stroke it.

Hi JTB - I have a lot of guns, handguns and rifles, in a bunch of calibers. Some I almost never shoot (30 Carbine, for example) and some I shoot a lot (.45ACP, 38 Special, 9mm)
So it really just depends what I'm doing at the range. I have some buddies who do not shoot competitively, so we tend to just go to the range for fun in the winter and practice with handguns. All summer long I'm either at a match or coming home from a match or getting ready for the next one, so I'm almost exclusively shooting my match rifles.

Dang...I didn't pay that much for the shot gun.

329 For common, Remington 870, Mossberg 500/590, shotguns....

Invest in a Mesa Tactical Recoil Reduction Stock Kit.

Their design incorporates a piston that absorbs felt recoil better than any other on the market.

Worth every single dollar.

Just ask any LEO/Mil thats run a shotgun class with one.

****

I can personally attest to how good it is. I bought it back when it was called the Enidine ITT Shot Shock. Someone else now makes it, but it cuts recoil by about 50% percent.
I LOVE shooting my 12ga 870 as a result.

330 Manwithnoparty, i guess i get that, i had to take breaks also. Can be tough when we're all so desperate for finding the right tool for this election.

331 Thanks Weasel - I think we're less than an hour away. Hooray.

332 @329...

Tili...THANK YOU!!

And better yet, your shoulder thanks you!! Heh....

I run em on my 590's....literally thousands of rounds later they still are every bit as effective as day one.

Swapped out the generic stock for an LMT (consistency in weld with my go to KACS)....(love the ghost rings, but Trijicon RMR red dots take it to a whole nother level)....

A well broken in AND practiced 590 can dump 3" buckshot/slugs (combos) on a target in less than 5secs...

Very, very, extremely effective bang for your buck.

Absolutely Luv Em!!!

Now, My BFS equipped KAC's..... thats another level.

Love The (Well Armed) Horde oh Plenty.....

Hope All is Well at the Homesteads...

Y'all Deserve it.

333 312 ... Hi Weasel, I hope to get to the range this week if the mornings are more comfortable. I can finally use my trigger finger again. Probably try out the new Ruger 10-22 take down and a M1917 Enfield in 30-06 I haven't had a chance to shoot yet. I'll use Garand level commercial ammo for the Enfield to start. Then the fun begins tying to come up with a comfortable cast bullet load good to 100 yards or more. I have such a load for the '03 Springfield.

Not happy with NASCAR and NBC Sports.

The Cup race at Bristol is under another weather delay. Just a quick glance at a weather app shows it'll be raining all night there.

Looks like an obvious ploy to milk all the commercial bucks from the night as possible...

Silly daywalkers, sleep is highly over rated.

343 333 sorry I missed your post last night - where are you shooting again? FFX Rod and Gun?

I have a M1917 that I admit I've never worked up a load for and have just used surplus 30-06. Have you ever considered jacketed bullets? Let me know if I can help with the load development!
