American Breaststroker Lilly King Calls Out Russian Cheating, And Then Kicks Ass In The Final! [CBD]

The entire Russian track and field team was banned from the Olympic games, but for some odd reason, the rest of their athletes were allowed to petition individually for entrance.

Yulia Efimova is a Russian breaststroker, and a damned good one. She petitioned to swim, and was allowed entry into the meet just a day before it began.

There's just one problem: she has been banned twice for the use of performance enhancing drugs; once in 2014 and once this year. Why she was allowed to compete is beyond my knowledge of international swimming, but I can guess.

Lilly King is an American breaststroker who swims for Indiana University. She holds the American records in both the 100 and 200 yard events. And she was not happy about Efimova's presence at the Olympics, and wasn't shy about it either.

Then last night she thumped the Russian in the final by more than .50 seconds.

And then doubled down afterward, saying that Americans can swim clean and still compete on the world stage!

Lilly King is my new favorite swimmer.

Yes. Last job, I worked with a guy who, while not exactly an LIV, would always take the side of the the Russians. Like when he told me that the Russians had a right to be in the Ukraine because history and also, we were egging on the Ukes. So when I noticed one day he had an rt.com tab open, he didn't believe me that it was basically a Putin propaganda site and also, Russia has buildings full of drones who are paid to troll news sites with pro-Putin comments. Probably a hot shower. You go in the water, come out into a nicely comfortable low humidity environment for spectators sitting in their seats wearing street clothes while evaporative cooling takes your body temperature down about ten degrees.

1) Walk up stairs.

2) Step forward toward edge of plank

3) Jump

4) Spend 10 seconds or less in pool

Playes Smear the Queer all the time. Remember, Queer wasn't associated with gays until late 70s, early 80s, when they appropriated it. Queer meant really odd or out of place people who didn't fit in when I was growing up.

Mr.Jen and I watched Rugby for the first time the other night. I don't know what all the hullabaloo is about American football and concussions, we couldn't believe the hitting and tackling going on in the women's game. No helmets, no pads. Women getting absolutely trucked at full speed by other players. I mean flattened. Dog pile tackling and gouging the ball out of the players hands. Virtually no play stoppage unless a player ran out of bounds.

We were wide eyed watching it.

But occasionally I come across sports that I wonder why they aren't more popular in the US. Rugby is one of those - it's got the rough physicality of football, but without all the stoppage of play and without the showboating.
