Iran is once again ripe for overthrow. Despite the surrender/collusion of the Democrats and Republicans with the influx of all those frozen billions, and the ramping up of nuke and missile production, there is discord amongst the ruling generals, the economy (what there is of it) is collapsing and the tightening of the Islamic screws is reaching critical mass (no pun).

Unfortunately, we still have SCOAMF for 5 more months, Hilary will continue along the SCOAMF path until we get hit with an A Bomb and Mr. Trump's semi-isolationist stance is not a good sign.

I linked in the previous thread to an expose of how mild-mannered, nice, "centrist" Tim Kaine did all he could to spring a convicted double murderer who butchered his then girlfriend's parents.

Turns out he was, get this, the son of a foreign diplomat and thought he'd get immunity from prosecution. George Allen stopped it, thank goodness. But, macaca.

23 Beer history is no joke. There's a lot of it. There would be very little microbiology, and no refrigeration at all, if not for beer. We think it's funny. Dr Solomon Katz at U of Penna held, strongly, that beer-making was the basis of all agriculture. He has many adherents.

There's a woman at Champaign/Urbana, went to my high school, who wrote a brilliant doctoral thesis on the engineering and design elements of midwestern breweries. I met her in the Society for Industrial Archeology. I hope she takes this job, but don't know if it's up her alley. She must be close to "emeritus" status by now.

26 There is a lot of history to beer.

The first thing I read about the invention of beer was that it happened in Egypt about 5,000 years ago and it was accidentally discovered when mice dragged grain into water and it fermented.

I thought that was ridiculous. What were the odds that mice would do that?

Many years later I had pet mice. I'd give them fronds of millet. The first thing they'd do was drag it to the water and soak it.

So apparently that's what mice do.

"I worry that there is a bit of a secret Trump vote," said influential pollster Celinda Lake.
She has proof revealed in polls that find more white male
support when live people are doing the interviewing and less support for
Clinton in anonymous online surveys........

She also said that the white male, blue collar worker is a ripe
target for Trump. "Trump can also mobilize some voters, some white
downscale voters who also haven't voted for awhile," she said.

She described those voters as "downscale, white person who felt
threatened economically and who lived near a high concentration of
people of color."

Get it? White Male Racists will betray Hillary.

From everything I've seen and heard this week, the past 8 years and most of my life, if given the opportunity and means, the streets in this country would be running red with out blood.

This country is on a razor's edge. And the ONLY thing between us and them is what's left of the 2nd Amendment and perhaps, pleas G-d, most of the military and police.

We'd be marched to the pits and the ovens if they ever get the chance. Do not doubt that for a second.

I have always had a sense of wonder about the first human to do a thing. Toad licking is a good example. "Dude, lick this toad. It will mess with your mind!" Who would be the first to do that.

Or Sheep's eyes as a gastronomical delight, or fish eyes. (Imagine Eskimo children of a very young age, using a very sharp knife, to cut out the fish eyes as though they were candies. I have seen historical pictures. Or the desert tribes tricking the foreign diplomat into believing that sheeps eyes are a great delicacy. "Watch this Ahmed, I'll get this fool to eat sheep's eyes.")

Or consider poisonous plants. Who was the first to discover you don't want to eat that one. It will kill you.

Maybe beer sarted out as breakfast porridge, cereal grain soaked in water to a mush, left all day in the sun, or over night. "Dude! This mush is great, man!"

Yes, I have too much time on my hands.

92 I have always had a sense of wonder about the first human to do a thing.

103 South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham blasted President Obama this week, condemning his refusal to increase American aid to Israel, as well as his efforts to bar Israel from spending the aid money within the Jewish state.

Speaking to Haaretz, Graham revealed that Israel had previously requested an increased aid package from the White House, with $4 billion a year for regular military funding, plus $600 million towards Israels missile defense network.

But, Graham said, the administration rejected the request, despite similar increases to Arab states, such as Jordan.

I made a decision, given the deterioration in the region, that Israel needs more funding, said Graham. In the last three years, we increased funding to Jordan by $275 million outside of the MoU, because Jordan was under siege.

The administration didnt object to that increase, but they are objecting to the increase to Israel for 2017.

In 2015 the White House announced plans to raise the amount of aid to Jordan by more than 50%,

109 @71 You're not far off. Cereal was invented in roughly Babylonian times, by slurrying grains in water and leaving the mush on flat rooftops to dry. Then it was broken into chunks called groats. Forerunner of the cracker. Burry's "Euphrates" crackers are an approximation of the recipe. Inconceivable that some "Traveler from the Yeast" would not have found its way into a town with roofs like that.

A century or so ago, when I learned about this in college, the method was still in use throughout the East. I can't say whether that's still true. Lots of lead flying on those rooftops now.

and in it they had a contest where they gave women from three generation a large fish to prepare for eating.

They were to prepare as many dishes as they could.

Generation Grandma: used more than 90% of the fish

Generation Mom: used roughly 50% of the fish

Generation Now: used less than 20% of the fish

So....yup, hunger is an amazing stimulant to invention.

150 So many Jews will, once again, vote Democrat this year, even though many have seen the deterioration of the relationship between this country and Israel over the last several years, precisely when it should have been being strengthened if this country really was concerned with Israel's long term survival.

The decline, though obvious, has been somewhat understated, I think. Obama hasn't wanted to appear blatant and Israel wanted to preserve hopes that future administrations would rebuild the ties.

Under Clinton, knowing that any warmth she expresses toward Israel in particular, and Jews in general, is almost certainly an act, this election is way important for Israel, I would suggest. Especially with Turkey now becoming an oppressive theocracy.

Hillary Clinton made an excellent point about the glass ceiling at the convention. It hit me as I was sitting at home, drinking Pepsi and stuffing my face with various Nabisco snack foods, watching the convention. A woman can't advance to any meaningful leadership position in America. Until now.

Ever the skeptic, I did a Yahoo search to confirm this revelation. Sure enough, it's true. So I fired up the Hewlett Packard printer and printed some material. Then I realized that the IBM computers at work could do this faster, then further realized that I could take what I had already printed and run copies on the office's Xerox machine.

Once I have enough copies, I'm going to put them on every Chevy, Buick and Cadillac I see in the parking lots of the local T.J.Maxx and Ross Department Store. Because I have to get the word out.

Hillary Clinton is the only hope for women in America.

China is also exploding with Christians. I believe they now have more Christians than any other country. Granted, some of those (CINO's) go to the State-approved churches (no church at all really) but the vast majority are Christians in the underground churches where they actually teach the Bible. And often pay a heavy price for it.

Bernie supporters are defecting to Trump. Censorship on social media and in the news is reaching unconcealable levels.

And yet Trump leads nationally. Oregon is in play. Pennsylvania is in play. Wisconsin and Michigan are in play. The socialists are all in on their awful evil candidate and yet it will come down to a roll of the dice.

A great national catharsis is at hand, if you can find it within yourself to believe in your countrymen.

Fundamentalist Christians. Estimates are 50-100 million, and you can bet your ass they're being persecuted.

178 IDF special forces units teamed up with US Marines last week for a joint military exercise in the Negev Desert in part aimed at coordinating techniques for combating terrorist activities such as that of Islamic State, Channel 2 revealed Thursday morning.

The drill dubbed 'Noble Shirley,' which was kept under wraps until now, reportedly involved special units from the Israeli Air Force, Navy and ground forces.

Channel 2 reported that the IDF forces relayed their experience in combating regional terrorism threats to the US forces, which can apply the training to America's fight against ISIS in the Middle East.

During the exercise, the troops took part in drills simulating helicopter landings behind enemy lines, urban warfare above and below ground along with close-range combat and military takeover techniques.

Additional exercises also reportedly concentrated on medical responses to injured troops in enemy territory and the coordination of Israeli and US medical networks.

The drill was said to have been conducted during day and nighttime hours.

Last week's reported drill came some three weeks after the Defense Ministry and the US Missile Defense Agency completed a test aimed at ensuring Israeli and American air defense systems can operate cooperatively in a future war.

While that can turn around quickly this election just feels very different from the frustrating past ones. Human Hillary is flailing and Trump seems to be surging. May it continue!

I think it's a huge mistake to try to pander in order to pull in Bernie voters though. A few might vote for Trump, most will not because raaacccist.

Fine by me. The trick is to keep them indignant at the Dems without giving into their dumb ideas (free college!!!) I want them to write in Bern or vote for crazy Jill or not vote at all in November. If a sizable percentage of them do that Hill is screwed.

279 As for the upcoming national catharsis or Great Realignment: I'm anticipating the former and not so sure about the latter.

The commies enjoyed a lot of gains with Obama - too many, the way I see it - and a bubble formed. That bubble recently popped. (My evidence of this is Obama saying that the murder of those cops in Dallas was bad. America had had enough, and Obama couldn't say that the cops acted stupidly. Not this time.)

It remains to be seen if American socialism is now suffering a short-term setback or a long-term crash. If history is any indication, the commies will be back in full fundamental-transformation mode in another 3 to 5 years.

Anyway, I'll take the catharsis and whatever realignment November offers - but that'll just be the start.

There was an article the other day talking about the not especially warm welcome for Dope Frank by the Polish population. When a country that's 90% plus faithful Roman Catholic has no visible enthusiasm for the Pope of Rome, it's hard not to smell schism in the air.

Interesting to think about what a post-Roman schismatic version of Catholicism would look like. Doctrinally and otherwise. No Vatican.

318 Mondays death of President Ronald Reagans press secretary James S. Brady has been ruled a homicide resulting from the gunshot wound he suffered in the assassination attempt on Reagan in 1981, more than three decades ago.

The ruling was made by the medical examiners office in Virginia, where Brady, 73, died in an Alexandria retirement community, and was announced Friday by Gwendolyn Crump, the D.C. police departments chief spokeswoman.

Homicide, technically, means 'death caused by another.'

Apparently the ME's opinion was that death resulted from his physical condition, which was caused by being shot 33 years earlier.

I don't think that would hold up as a legal charge, though.

Nate Silver was one of the originators and prime movers of Journolist.

And like Hillary!, when caught deleted his emails rather than show them to the public to see how deep he was into manipulating the news,

but, and here's the good part, like Hillary!, he assured us that there was nothing incriminating on those emails, so we could believe him.

IMHO - Nate has a bit harder job these days:

I have zero doubt that he will manipulate the numbers or selectively choose sources to benefit Democrats in the early goings.

But-

Once, nut-crunching time approaches- either the Presidential vote or obvious swings in numbers-

he has to write the truth or as close as he can get anyway-

because that's his job and reputation on the line.

Thus, the anger of his fellow libtards. Because they know or think the above to be true.

YMMV.

Functional Psychopath.... look it up....

1.Callous unconcern for the feelings of others.
2.Gross and persistent attitude of irresponsibility and disregard for social norms, and obligations.
3.Incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, though having no difficulty in establishing them.
4.Very low tolerance to frustration, a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence.
5.Incapacity to experience guilt or to profit from experience, particularly punishment.
6.Markedly prone to blame others or to offer plausible rationalization for the behavior that has brought the person into conflict with society.

403 "Yesterday had some young little thing with a clipboard come to the door. Claimed to be from a non-partisan group."

The last political canvasser on the doorstep said, "Would you please sign here to expand the ban on plastic bags at retail establishments in California? They last forever and they wreak terrible havoc on marine life when they blow out to sea."

I said, "No, I don't think so. What's the name of your group again?"

He told me. I looked it up. It's actually a group funded by crony capitalists that pushes to continue the enormous subsidies for electric cars and windmills. I guess the public isn't too lit up by that idea, so they're having to engage in these subterfuges.

406 Little doubt the "delayed-murder" finding was at the behest of the Brady Campaign to Stop Gun Violence/Handgun Control Inc., to make political hay in a post-Sandy Hook environment. The tide crested, but it ebbs and flows.

407 Going back to Drudge to look at the picture reminds me of the time our dog vomited in the back of our van and nobody wanted to go in and clean it up so my wife offered any of the kids $10 to go in and clean it up and one of the boys took her up on the offer and held his breath and ducked into the van for 15-20 seconds at a time, mopping up the vile mess, then had to come back out gasping for breath and wait 5 minutes before he could stomach going back in. Toughest ten bucks he ever earned. What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, going back over to Drudge to re-examine that picture reminds me of that.

RCP has the current Electoral Tally (no toss ups) at:

322- Clinton, 216 Trump

All but two swing states appear to be pretty firmly on the unindicted felon granny column looking at each individually.

So, exactly which states is King ahead Weasel going to flip? How
exactly does he propose to do this when his best period of funding
almost half of Clinton's for the same period, spending is less than 1/3,
and he has negligable if any organization in any of these states?

Clock is ticking. 3 months to go.
.
.The latest polls had Trump up in Florida and Pennsylvania and tied in Ohio. I think they need to update those maps.

417 Read the article on Hinckley.

If I remember correctly, he has been going to his mother's home for weekend visits for years. I seem to remember a big brou ha ha a number of years ago about a court granting him those visits after his docs submitted testimony that said he was not a danger.

However, the amount of supervision being ordered and all the paper work, secret service involvement, etc. ...which of course is being paid by the US taxpayer.

His docs say his psychosis is in "remission". Won't it be wonderful when it becomes active again....

418 Regarding John Lennon further upthread: he was moving right later in life. The Beatles, in general, weren't really a fan of the Abbie Hoffman-style school in general. Read the lyrics to "Revolution" for proof. That song was written after pundits called for them to support the various lefty protest movements. In comparison, The Stones wrote "Street-Fighting Man" as a sop to those same groups, I guess. Peak hippie/commie for Lennon was "Imagine", I think.
